📹 Trying out 3 popular grocery delivery services
ABC News’ Becky Worley shares her results after comparing three popular same-day grocery delivery services in California.
Grocery pickup and delivery service during the Covid19 crisis has been shameful. These businesses have had a great opportunity to serve the public but, have failed. 1. They don’t pay their employees enough 2. They haven’t figured out how to deliver in a timely manner 3. Instacart, Amazon, come on you guys, get it figured out, poor service means customers lost “forever” 4. Think outside the box and see who figures out the best business practice 5. Mission statement: (to be a winner… it should be…. Taking care of people and meeting their needs…with that said..SHAME ON ALL CUSTOMERS WHO DON’T TIP, OR LEAVE A SMALL TIP.
i don’t do store pick up because every time I have tried it half of the items are out of stock but amazingly you walk into the store and its sitting on the shelf. I don’t do delivery because instant cart etc.does not deliver here. I do, however, purchase groceries though Misfits market, Wee, and/ or Thrive. I do not seem to have issues with them.
My Walmart, grocery delivery, has been late over 4 times and I never got back the $9.00 delivery charges, I live in apartment and they never bring it straight to my apartment door, it’s like they don’t know how to use the dial pad in the lobby that dials my number and I press 9 on my phone 3 times which opens the double doors, Walmart doesn’t provide buggy’s for delivers, it’s not my fault that the apartment complex doesn’t have a handy one in the lobby for this type of things, other apartments do, some are just to cheap😏
I just made my first order but ot will be my last time not a happy buyer they didn’t had what i wanted they said to replace my milk for cheap quality one as we all know great value milk is no good milk also you are force to tip the delivery person I’m not cheap but i wasn’t satisfied with what i got I’m better taking my happy self to the store and pick everything i want i also ordered a tv from walmart and wow they sent me a tv with a dot in the middle im telling you take your happy you know what and go to the store and buy what you want as we all know those who deliver things never do a good job
Amazon Prime Now is the fastest and most cost effective, since there’s no delivery fee if you order at least $35 and you get free two hour delivery in addition. They are always on time too. However, Prime Now has nowhere NEAR the amount of items Safeway and Walmart has. It’s like Prime Now is your small gas station store and the others actual giant grocery places. The $10 delivery fee of Safeway makes me only choose them when I get free delivery coupons (which is very rare). Walmart grocery delivery isn’t even available right now where I live.
I’m not trying to bash Walmart I’m just trying to tell the truth, this is the first quarter of 2021 and for exactly the last year I have used Walmart app to shop for groceries and instacart to shop for groceries, and Walmart has gotten worse and worse the shoppers just don’t do this stuff right they give you crappy avocados or tomatoes etc they take forever and just haven’t had good luck with them maybe it’s just my area I don’t know, but on the flip side instacart works flawlessly for me! and the biggest bonus I think of (other than the fact you can shop from a whole lot of different stores through instacart by the way!!!!!!) the instacart app service is that you can chat with your shopper and most shoppers in fact I can’t think of a shopper that wasn’t good to me will take pictures of products if you have a question or need a replacement and that is absolutely top-notch service!!!!! and don’t forget to tip your shopper well people would you go out for a 2 hours stunt to pick up 50 items and be happy to get a $10 tip? No of course not, tip them $20, 25 even!
Regardless of who delivers my groceries, please don’t put my bags of groceries on the damm ground. If you don’t have a hand cart with you in your car, please don’t take the call. Those bags that you just put on the ground in the parking lot of my apartment complex end up on my counter. I don’t know who spat on the ground before my groceries were placed there. Please don’t put my groceries on the ground people. Thank you. —-Q—-
I have ordered Fry’s Food / Instacart online delivery approximately 3 to 4 times in Phoenix, Arizona for my elderly mother. I would order online more often but the website and mobile app is not user friendly. It shows an item but not the full description or price unless you click on the item. But if I click on the item and try to go back to where I left off it will take me all the way to the top of the list and I have to scroll back down to find where I left off. The coupons should be listed right next to each item and give you an option to click on it. Going through all the coupons is so times consuming; searching for items I need is alreasy too consuming! My phone is slow and sometimes freezes up. Also, last time I ordered items for delivery some items automatically were listed under pickup. I didn’t realize it and when I purchased my items for delivery. I noticed I didn’t get 2 of my items. When I went back online to check as to why, I noticed they were listed under pickup. Why would Frys Food make ordering online more stressful?! Furthermore when my groceries were delivered from Instacart, I received a soggy tomato and avocado and a visibly rotten white onion, and my mini bell peppers that are suppose to be yellow, red and orange were actually green and grey. I would love to help make their online ordering more user friendly. I don’t think I will be ordering online from Frys Foods or Instacart if this doesn’t get corrected. I am a full time caregiver for my elderly mother who cannot medically leave the house or be left alone.
I like Kroger delivery. $2 week subscription for free deliveries on $35, or more with no tipping cost. Same day delivery, or what day you choose and comes in a big refrigerated Kroger truck. Items are left on doorstep with text notice of delivery before and after. They always follow up with a *”How Did We Do” email. If out of something, they send you a special web link with a list of similar priced alternatives to either decline, or select from before your order ships.
