I feel you about the home situation. My situation is even weirder. I lived in a house when I was 5 but I don’t remember it much and now I live in my current house, but it doesn’t feel like home to me. My grandmothers house feels like home to me because it is so recognizeable and unique. I spent so much time there as a toddler and I still do to this day. It’s weird that my own house doesn’t feel like home but I don’t mind.
So I wasn’t like that at my childhood home until we moved and I missed it a lot. The people who bought it completely changed the entire house, like, the shape, the colour, the driveway, the inside, everything. And the first time I went back and saw it I just started crying because nothing was the same. Like, I knew people change houses once they bought them but I was like 12 I think and it was just so jarring, I hadn’t prepared myself at all.
I know what you mean by the moving not feeling like home Nikki 🥺 recently my parents and I moved from our home of 17 years and unfortunately our new place was not even ready for us and we became homeless. We’re staying with friends right now but it’s not home 😢 it’s not the same. I feel so out of place 😔 but I really hope to start all over and get back to my normal self. I’m 19, almost 20, and I’m commuting from home to my college and the idea of me moving out has been thrown around. I have never moved (well once when i was like 2, so I don’t remember anything from then), and grew up in the same house. I have ASD, Anxiety disorders, ADHD, the whole shebang of the fun stuffs.
