Mana Stolen per Hit is an enchantment found on various items and charms in Diablo 2 that allows players to replenish mana by hitting an enemy for a specified amount of time. This is ideal for replenishing mana without waiting and with the fun of it. Mana steal only applies to physical attacks, while damage done by spells and minions will not steal mana for you. On-hit can work with spells, but it depends on the spell you’re using and what the on-hit effect is. Life and mana steal don’t apply with any skills.
Mana Steal is a frequently encountered trait on items, most commonly weapons, which allows the user to replenish their Mana with damage dealt against the enemy. Mana per hit is a completely different function than mana per kill, as anything that triggers exp should trigger mana per kill. Life stolen per hit (or life leech, LL) only works with melee and ranged attacks (ie not spells). Life after each kill works with everything.
There is no +xx life per hit modifier, only +xx life per hit, and this one requires a physical hit with either melee or ranged attacks. Spells will not work. To use Mana Stolen per Hit, put 2 TIR runes in your helmet.

Do spells count as hit Poe?
Hit is an effect that applies a discrete amount of damage to a target instantly, with the damage being mitigated down to 0, but never negative. It comes from one of three sources: attack, spell, or secondary, and is combined of any five damage types: physical, fire, cold, lightning, or chaos. Hit packages also contain mechanics and effects, such as “on/when hit effects” when the player hits the enemy, and “When Hit” when the enemy hits the player.
Most effects are applied after the hit is completed and damage is dealt, as the magnitude of damage is used to compute the magnitude of effect. These effects can be mitigated down to 0, but damage over time never hits.
