If your MagicBand or Key to the World Card is properly linked and shows as “active” in your My Disney Experience account, you can use it to charge. Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can also use their MagicBands to make purchases throughout Walt Disney World. To link your MagicBand+ to your Disney account, follow the instructions in the app, assign it to a guest, and pair it to your mobile device.
However, Disney Gift Cards cannot be linked directly to your My Disney Experience account. Instead, you can periodically pay off your room balance with gift cards at your resort front desk. Simply link a credit or debit card to your MagicBand, use your MagicBand for purchases in the theme parks, and visit the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel to pay the balance.
Currently, Disney Gift Cards are not capable of being linked to your MagicBand, but you can use the gift cards to pay off your room charge balance. You can front-load with gift cards, but you must do it every day or else your credit card on file will get auto charged at the front desk.
You cannot attach a Disney Gift Card as your payment option linked to your MagicBand. However, you can use gift cards to pay those charges. They cannot add cash or gift cards. You can clear the balance at the hotel reception in cash and the card linked isn’t charged.
If you are staying on site and leave a credit card info with the hotel to allow charges to your room, then the MagicBand+ can be linked to your My Disney Experience account.

I get my discounted gift cards from BJs. I haven’t been able to get the discounted gift cards from Costco (not on the website nor in the store) and I don’t have a Sam’s membership. I’ll be using the gift cards for my kids for their souvenirs on the next trip. I was starting to stock up on the gift cards, but with our Sept trip in limbo at the moment, I don’t want to spend that money just yet.
Kayla I love your hair! 😍 since they’ve cancelled the dining plans for our up coming trips we are going to take the $ from the DP that we would have spent and put it on a gift card. It will be interesting to compare what we would have spent on the dining plan to what we will actually spend. Always great info guys!
Target is so annoying. I have the debit, but they won’t let me buy more than $300 in gift cards. Now I have to go to BJ’s. There’s no way to get the 5% off without going through the debit system. When you call, they basically tell you that the more you use it, the more they allow. But I need to get my gift cards now not on targets timeline. grrrrrrrr
