The Hayward GLX-PCB-RITE is a replacement main board for the Aqua Rite control box. It is compatible with all older AquaRite units and requires a 5/16″ socket to remove the screws that secure the cover panel to the box. The cover panel should be removed from the control box, and the Display PCB should be removed from the Main PCB. The new Display PCB (GLX-PCB-DSP) should be installed, and the long pins from the Main PCB must match the holes on the Display PCB.
To replace the GLX-PCB-RITE, power should be turned off at the circuit breaker, the salt cell and flow switch should be disconnected, and the metal faceplate should be removed. The new menu setting must be configured to operate the pool’s Turbo Cell. The new display PCB should match the long pins from the Main PCB and the new red and black cable should be attached to the board.
After installing the board, follow the steps below to correctly configure it for use with the installed Turbo Cell. Failure to perform this step may result in issues with the system’s operation. The Hayward GLX-PCB-RITE is the correct replacement PCB board for the Hayward AquaRite, and it is backwards compatible with all older AquaRite units.

Does it matter which way a resistor is installed?
Resistors do not have polarity and can be installed in any direction on a circuit. They are the same regardless of the type of part used, whether through-hole or surface mount. To add a resistor to a circuit, read the circuit board correctly and solder in the correct place. The Blink and Hue Learn to Solder Kits offer detailed instructions for installing resistors, making it easy for beginners and providing valuable experience in soldering resistor components.
Can you put a resistor in the wrong way?
Resistors have no polarity, meaning current passes equally through them from either direction, making them unsuitable for backward installation. To differentiate between resistors and capacitors, consider the following:
Current flows from positive to negative, regardless of the resistor’s placement. Resistors are typically part of a circuit with polarity, thanks to other components like capacitors.
To determine if a component is a resistor or a capacitor, refer to the longer blog post on identifying circuit board components.
Can a resistor be installed backwards?
Resistors are essential components in the Intro to Robotics program, which covers building circuits, using Raspberry Pi, and writing common code commands in Python. They provide electrical resistance by limiting the flow of electrons through the circuit. Resistors can be placed anywhere in the sequence of components, slowing the flow of electrons from any point along the circuit.
Resistors are useful for two main reasons. First, they prevent short circuits, which can cause damage to components like breadboards, wires, and batteries. They also slow the current flow to a component, which is designed to function with a certain amount of electrical current. Too little or too much current can cause components to malfunction or even destroy.
In summary, resistors are essential components in the Intro to Robotics program, providing electrical resistance and preventing short circuits. They can be placed anywhere in the circuit sequence and can be used to slow the current flow to components like LEDs, fans, and light bulbs.
How do you connect a diode correctly in a circuit?
A diode is a device that conducts current when the positive side of a voltage source is connected to the positive end of the diode (anode) and the negative side to the negative end (cathode). If the diode is reversed, the current is blocked up to a limit. Schematics indicate the installation of diodes using a symbol (—▷—) and an arrow pointing at a vertical bar with a line continuing out of it. The arrow indicates the positive side flowing into the negative side.
Does it matter which way you wire a diode?
Diodes are polarized components with specific orientations that must be connected in a circuit to function correctly. They consist of two terminals, one positive (anode) and the other negative (cathode), and current can only move from the anode to the cathode. They can be easily identified on schematics by a large arrow with a line running through them. Most diodes are made from silicon or germanium, two popular semiconductor materials in electronics.
Although neither conducts electricity in their natural state, doping is a magic trick used to allow electricity to flow through these materials. To remember which way current flows in a diode, follow the direction of the arrow.
How to tell which direction a diode goes?
A diode is a semiconductor material used in electronics, typically made from silicon or germanium. These materials are known for their ability to conduct electricity in their natural state, but they can be manipulated through a process called doping. Doping involves adding impurities to silicon, which is an insulator by day, to give it the ability to conduct electricity at night. This process allows the current to flow through the semiconductor, allowing it to be used in various applications. The direction of the arrow indicates the current flow in a diode.
Should diode go on positive or negative?

How to tell which way to install a diode?
A functioning diode permits the flow of current in a direction that is consistent with the cathode. For further information on the subject of diodes, please refer to our other videos on GTV.
Which way do you wire a resistor?
Resistors are a common component in electrical circuits, employed to regulate the voltage across a load. This is achieved either in series with the load or in parallel with the load, depending on the specific application and the desired outcome.
What happens if you install a diode backwards?
A diode is a semiconductor composed of an N-type semiconductor and a P-type semiconductor. The N-type semiconductor is the negative end, called the cathode, and the P-type semiconductor is the positive end, called the anode. The current flowing through the diode depends on its connection. If the positive side of a voltage source is connected to the anode and the negative side to the cathode, the diode will conduct current. If reversed, the current is blocked up to a limit.
How do you install a PCB resistor?
To replace a defective resistor on a circuit board, insert the wire leads into the holes and bend them 90 degrees along the back of the board. Place the soldering iron tip beside the wire and press gently. Melt the solder wire and remove both the soldering iron and wire as soon as the solder covers the joint and the resistor acquires the position. Remove excess solder across the joints with the soldering iron. Heat the soldering iron or gun up to 400 degrees Celsius and tin the tip with solder to ensure heat conduction.
Stabilize the circuit board in the position, and if a defected resistor is found, place the tinned iron tip on one wire lead and hold it for a few seconds to heat up the joints until the solder surrounding the joint starts to melt. Detach the resistor safely and open the blocked holes with the heated soldering iron. Use the soldering iron tip to wipe excess solder from the components on the circuit board.
