Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), the largest undergraduate institution in Iowa, has unveiled its new website, three-dimensional DMACC logo, and other materials. The college’s new brand, a result of research and creative collaboration, features a single-character logo of the letter “D” in a block-style font similar to that used by Drake for the past 122 years. DMACC will defend its new logo, which includes 20 pictures of its live bulldog mascot, Griff, who wears a sweater with a D to games.
The college unveiled its new corporate logo this week, which incorporates a “three-dimensional D”, college seal connected to its founding in 1966, and a graphic claw signifying the DMACC Bear mascot. The DMACC Bear mascot was on hand to celebrate the DMACC Urban Campus and the UNI@DMACC partnership during a free Community Night event held on July 17, 2024.
DMACC created an inflatable version of their beloved DMACC bear mascot to get attention and attract visitors to their booth at events like the Iowa State Fair. The DMACC Bear mascot will also get a facelift in the coming months, according to president Rob Denson. Signage in and around the college’s seven campuses is expected to increase in the coming months.
