Forspoken is a game with four sets of powers, each with its own unique abilities. To change spells, players can use the DualSense touchpad to swipe right for purple magic, up for green magic, left for red magic, and down for blue magic. The game has four sets of powers, and the only way to upgrade or change spells is by finding the spell’s associated book and completing its challenge.
Attack Magic spells have no ammo or cooldown limits, while Support Magic spells provide support with L2, like decreasing damage or holding enemies. Mana can be upgraded through the use of Mana or the completion of Spellcraft Challenges. Once a magic school is unlocked, players can unlock new spells from within that school or upgrade existing ones using Mana.
To view spells, hold L1 + R1 and press the Touch Pad button. The controller lights under the Touch Pad glow the color of your current magic type. To switch between attack and support spells, tap R1 instead of holding it and bringing up the wheel. Support magic is used with the L2 button on the PlayStation 5 controller, with L1 bringing up the spell menu for your current magic type.
Forspoken has a complex and robust magic system with over 100 different spells to learn, use, and enhance. Players can upgrade spells within the game by going to the magic menu, which allows them to spend earned Mana on upgrades. It is also possible to learn new spells by using the magic menu.
