How Can Your Heart Chakra Be Opened?

The heart chakra, located in the chest, is an energy focal point that can be blocked if it feels unbalanced. To unblock the heart chakra, one should focus on physical practices such as paying attention to posture and practicing meditation, self-healing, and introspection.

Blocked chakras can manifest as difficulty forgiving others, lack of self-love, being trapped in toxic relationships, grief, loneliness, fear of betrayal, immune issues, chest tightness, and more. To unblock the heart chakra, one can write in a gratitude journal, meditate with heart-opening crystals, and recite loving affirmations.

Powerful yogic tools like yoga poses, chakra meditation, and breathwork can help balance the heart chakra. Chest stretches, shoulders, and upper back stretches can also help loosen up the chakra. Meditation, breathwork, and energy-healing techniques can help balance this chakra, while engaging in positive affirmations and spending time in the heart.

Forgiving has the power to set us free from feelings like anger, resentment, and bitterness, and it can unlock our heart chakra. Feeling gratitude and practicing backbends, loving kindness meditations, and using rose quartz and other heart-opening crystals can also help open the heart chakra.

In summary, unblocking the heart chakra is essential for promoting resilience against life’s stressors and allowing closed chakras to open and calm down. By practicing gratitude, meditation, breathwork, and energy-healing techniques, individuals can open their hearts and unblock the love chakra.

When experiencing blockages in the heart chakra, try three ways to restore balance: breathing, finding a comfortable seat, writing, and forgivingness. Breathing allows us to release our thoughts and feelings, while writing allows us to make them tangible on paper. Forgiveness allows us to free ourselves and others. The heart chakra is the central connection between the physical and spiritual chakras, and it is the home of love, compassion, and acceptance.

It spreads through the arms, chest, and lungs, and when blocked, it can cause physical or spiritual pains. Releasing tension in this chakra allows us to find balance in love, which is essential for overcoming loneliness, depression, fear of intimacy, and judgment. When in balance, we can experience a balanced flow with others, complete love of self, self-acceptance, compassion, empathy, healthy relationships, and a healthy immune system. Flowing within and from the heart brings a sense of balance and peace.

  • I feel like I have a barricade around my heart. I’m trying so hard to heal and I’m so exhausted. I’ve had a rough few months and finally starting to feel a bit better, but I have so much to heal and so far to go. My heart is making me literally cry listening to your article today – it’s desperate for this shield to release, I have the most painful lump in my throat just writing this comment.

  • My spirits guys showed me through symbols about the stock market crash on August 5th, and even which stock to buy – and I bought something different from my ego. The stock spirit told me to buy has already gone up 40%. I never knew how powerful the universe was. I am going to continue commanding that the universe and my financial guides continue to guide me. I hope they continue to guide me even though I didn’t follow through on their advice.

  • It’s amazing how every week you read what’s on my heart. This past week ( with mercury retrograde 😅) was a cycle of reliving trauma and anxiety. But dancing, singing, meditation (Qigong), perusal childhood movies, and appreciating what I have in the moment, really opened my heart again. Slowly but steadily.

  • I want to thank you for your lessons… you probably won’t remember me, you read for me more than 10 years ago and I use to go to your work shops at the NY open center. I should have followed your advice during these times, I found myself wishing I had and regretful I didn’t now in life. The fact that your still out their spreading love and light through your work is a life saver especially for someone who should have, if your ever teaching in NY I’ll be their as I’m back in my six sensory journey. Thank you for this vid as I closed heart is something I’ve suffered for years. Best, Santos Carrero

  • I feel like i have been grieving for three years. I wanted to give it the time that it needed, without minimizing, but i also do not want to over-focus, and continuously bring the past into the present. I did start with the hopoono prayer, and i found afterwards that i felt more down, more sad. It was a part of a self-forgiveness resolution, but it felt like it brought me down rather than up. Is that a normal thing in the process, like i will be more sad before things get lighter? I do feel like my heart is open, but i also know that i have been feeling down for so long, that idea doesn’t seem right, that my heart would be open. I remember that lightweight feeling very well. It has been a long time. I think perhaps it is the people i am around; i need a wider variety and less time with certain ones.

  • Great start to my week. Perfect timing once again. Love your response to the man who thought you are just talking to menopausal women… omg…I hope that gentleman does use your tips (for the sake of all women around him). If everyone used your tips… opened their heart, strived to become the best version of themselves… menopause would be easier to move through… nothing helps me more with my anxiety and other emotional ups and downs due to estrogen low, like being around healthier people who add more joy, humour and lightness to my world. Thanks for being part of the solution Sonia ox

  • This is my first time leaving a comment, I’m facing my fears and one of my biggest blocks at the moment is my closed heart. I am getting told of all great things around me but I can’t see them. Opening up my phone to this article this morning is the sign on how to get back on track. I love you Sonia for existing and for being an inspiration and light to me. ❤ I can’t wait to open my heart more each day.
