As a security guard who works at one of the strip properties, everything he said is spot on. He also should have added that even if security and police are able to help you in a situation involving a prostitute, you’ll still be charged for soliciting sex, so you’ll be a victim and be slapped with a charge, its a terrible idea so just ignore those women as tempting as they are. The only advice I can say is that if you get into any trouble at an MGM, Caesars, or any mega resort casino, notifying security is way more effective than trying to fix the problem yourself or calling the police. We know the property better than you do and we can direct police, paramedics, and provide first aid way faster than any other help can arrive. Good article.

Beware of getting into random limos from off the strip. I got in one with my friend and a “Host” and even though I was drunk I knew something wasn’t right. My escape tactic was that I needed to throw up, car door wouldn’t open from the inside and the windows couldn’t be rolled down. So the driver rolls down the window, I open the door from the outside and I get out immediately and bailed with my friend.
You are dead on. I’ve been to Vegas dozens of times. You spelled out the reality of it. One thing I noticed is that the staff at big hotels are fairly protective of their guests. I was having a drink at the bar in a strip hotel and a couple of girls started flirting with us hard. The staff seemed to know they were up to no good and ejected them with a few minutes. I wouldn’t have done anything with them because I saw what they were doing but the bar staff was on it.
It baffles me that anyone is superficial and dull enough to think that any of this looks appealing. I worked at North Tahoe during college in the late 60’s. Even in that much smaller and less glitz-saturated environment, I don’t think I ever met one genuine person. There were few honest people, few hard workers, and absolutely no deep thinkers. (which I had no intention of doing) Ok, I’ll be here I spent an extra few minutes in my room and came back down, and she was gone. Guys, these “ladies” will hover around the tables and see what kind of “stack” you have. They see you away from the tables, they’ll “attack”. Not only was I going to grab smokes, I wanted to put about $3500 in the safe in my room. Go there enough, they’re easy enough to spot.
It’s comical really, I’ve lived in the Downtown area forever it seems, at least over 10 years now. Being a native Nevadan it never fails to make me shake my head if I find myself wandering around the Fremont St. Experience and I see 2 or 3 girls approach a guy. Just out of the blue. We stayed at one of the top properties. We also met some women & invited them back to our room. And yes, one of them did text someone. And yes, Three Guys did show up at our door. One of the women answered the door. The Three Good Sized Guys entered the room & demanded our wallets. Unfortunately for them, all Four of us had our own weapons & when they entered the room, we had already pulled our weapons. You never saw Three Grown Men run so fast in your life. The Women were right behind them. Best Advice: Be Prepared!
It was 1 1/2 years ago. I wanted to walk to a dispensary to go pick up some choice vape pens for my stay. When I cut through the back neighborhood going west behind the stratosphere there was a man getting roughed up by 2 other men. It looked totally staged. Because they were mainly hitting his body but nothing looked like it would really hurt because the intent wasn’t there. It seemed as though they were waiting for me to intervene for their chance to rob me. But I laughed and keep walking while at the same time making sure I was aware of my surroundings. The 2 guys eventually left. Don’t know if they took anything. The guy who was getting roughed up was trying to make it look like he was a victim but I wasn’t falling for it. Needless to say learn how to read the body language of people. Not just the actions. It can help keep you out of trouble.
I lived in Vegas for 3 years, and I’ll say my street smarts went up exponentially during that period. Nearly any stranger could have a bad agenda. I kept to myself, did my work, and made sure I never made myself too vulnerable to be robbed. I lived in the bad areas, but I kept my car empty and my doors always locked. I never held much cash in my wallet. If I won a big sports bet, I didn’t make it known.
My wife and I went to Vegas in 2016 to witness our friends getting married. We stayed at the Mirage. We had a penthouse suite on one of the top floors which requires your room key to access the specific elevators to get there. Best advice is don’t bother with the prostitutes. If you absolutely must for some reason, just take a free limo or pay for a cab to one of the legal brothels. They aren’t in Vegas proper, but they’re like an hour away and perfectly safe if that’s your thing. I went to Vegas when I turned 21 and we were staying at the RIO during the WSOP.. One evening me and two friends went to Caesars then at about 3 or 4 AM we left. We were drunk and flagged a taxi. The taxi driver kept asking if we wanted to go get up with some girls ( I didn’t really want to but I didn’t want to be “that guy” while my other two friends were all for it, but I should’ve let them go and just went back to my hotel). It’s clear that taxi drivers and these establishments are in cohoots. We get to the place and it is the absolute hood. We walk in which is $40 to get in the door. They brought out the girls and you pick one then go to a room (that’s another $200). Now, I feel really awkward and just kinda sat there talking to her. because I felt guilty I dunno, that’s just not my thing. Then here it comes, more money. I realize it’s not gonna end so I just leave. I asked the dude if I could just wait on my friends but being the sleeziest person I’ve ever met in my life (appearance and personality) he wouldn’t let me so I left. I walked out and and stood at the street praying for another cab to come by. A huge dude walks out of the same place I was just in and stares me down. There were sketchy ass people walking around everywhere and I just knew some bad shit was about to happen. Luckily a cab pulled up and I flagged him down like my life depended on it- which it probably did. I made it back to the hotel and a couple hours later my two friends did as well. They both spent over 1k and didn’t get more than a well lotioned foot rub.

Never think you just got lucky when she looks right in your eyes and smiles.Have a plan of where you want to go and stick to that plan. I spend a lot of time making distance between me and other people trying to stay with me. If I don’t know you, I don’t want you around me. And it takes years to know me, not hours.Never ever let a stranger buy you drinks or food especially at a place you mistakenly let them get you to go too. If the bartender and this person look chummy,they could be running a scam. Frankly, be smart and protect yourself at all times. Especially in a place you don’t know. There are threats in any city. At least,where you live, you know where those threats are. Here, you are just meat for the grinder.

I was a police officer in California for 26 or so years. I got promoted to detective, and wound up assigned to vice. We had a huge problem with rent-a-friends and their pimps, but weren’t quite trained in enforcement of the pertinent laws. My partner and I got sent to Vice Investigation School. We were taught that the hogs we had on our Ho Stroll were the same hogs from the houses in Las Vegas, Pahrump, and so on. We didn’t believe it. We started decoying these “Ladies”, and, as part of the arrest process, we began to find all kinds of flyers in their purses, coat pockets, and so on. Sure enough, almost all of them carried flyers from Nevada cat houses. The hookers just went on a big loop. That was all.
Close relative of mine who is in his 50’s woke up early before his wife did when they were on vacation and decided to go downstairs and play a few machines before they went out on the Strip for the day. He was in sweats and unshowered. A girl who wasn’t more than early 20’s in full makeup and a slutty dress and heels came up to him at 6 AM and started smiling and laughing and talking with him. He said he knew right away what it was and tried to ignore her. Then she sat down at the machine next to him and started lightly rubbing his shoulder and asked him if he wanted to “have some morning fun” because she knew a spot. He asked if that “fun” involved payment and she said “depends on how much you want to have honey”. He’s a pretty blunt and straightforward guy and looked right at her and said I’m happily married and even if I wasn’t, I don’t think I’m into the kind of fun you’re talking about. Her attitude immediately changed from smiley and giggly to a complete bitch and she shoved the chair of the machine and stood up and muttered something about him being a “waste of her f’ing time” and some derogatory remark and stormed off. Easy lesson right there about what these girls think of potential clients. The second she found out he wasn’t falling for her trap, she showed her true colors.
Having lived here in Las Vegas the last 30 years and known a lot of people who have worked on the Strip, all the scams you mention are spot on from everything I have heard. Always watch out for pickpockets (men or women) usually working as a team especially around big events in Las Vegas like fights, etc. Also, it is amazing to me how many tourists that come here think that prostitution is legal all over Nevada and are surprised to find out it is not in Las Vegas.
I remember when my brother was robbed in Vegas. Him and his buddy her at the strip club and a stripper walked up and asked him if he wanted a lap dance for $20. He politely declined and said no. She walked over to the bouncer and told him that she had given my brother a lap dance and that he refused to pay her. The bouncer came over and refused to let them leave until he gave her $20.
I learned this in reverse. Went back to a womans hotel ( not a pro ). We had been out walking for awhile, so she said she needed a shower. When she went to shower I realized her purse was right there and I was a complete stranger. I could have just took it and left. Made me think how many pros could ask the John to take a shower first and then disappear.
I was in Vegas during the late 80’s, and was warned by a resident to avoid special “girly bars”, which were nondescript places that offered female company in a bar-like atmosphere. They required you to buy drinks for yourself and the girls, and ran a tab on your credit card. Of course the drink prices were over-inflated, and they would continue to place charges on your card as long as they could keep you there. The guy told me one was lucky to escape with no less that $1000 or more charged to your card. If you complained, they had bouncers that would give you a hard time. It was basically coerced robbery from the moment you walked in the door. There were dozens of ads in the Yellow Pages for these places.
When I was 4 years old my dad started taking me to the Mustang Brothel. We would go on Sunday afternoons about once a month. Back then the Mustang was in Wadsworth a few miles farther east than were the brothels are now. Prostitution was illegal in Washo county but not in Story county. I would sit on the ladies laps while my dad did business. He owned a drug store in Reno with a Revlon franchise so sold cosmetics and sundries to the sex workers. Great article. I lived in Las Vegas for about 5 years and more than once I had to contact security to get someone supposedly “Drunk” get back to their room. Unfortunately this often ended up causing them even more grief because Big Properties do not simply get people to their room anymore. They have EMS pick them up and bring them to the Hospital ER due to an incident that happened with a brittle diabetic. ER Visit will cost you a minimum of $5000.
I’ve been there about 6 times over 4 decades. It was great the first two times. The rest, not so much. Las Vegas has literally devolved into a filthy dystopian ninth circle of hell. No desire to ever go back but the restaurants were amazing and the shows were pretty good. The chain smokers, the homeless and the uncollected steaming garbage kind of did it for me. Plus I saw someone shoot heroin right in the street. Gross.
Going to strange and cheap motels especially, to visit hookers or even “regular” gals is always a bad idea. You are much more likely to be blackmailed/scammed or robbed. Some of the cheap hotel owners are involved in the criminal activity. I used to do this sort of thing when I was younger. Even if you have some harmless experiences it’s a wierd feeling.
Fun fact: if you are hosting a bachelor party at a Vegas hotel be careful when you think you’re hiring a dancer. Because you might get a hooker instead. I attended a party and when the host thought he hired dancers he met on the strip. When they arrived and handed them the money, they said that was their “arrival fee” and it will be extra charges per customer. At that time we all realized they weren’t dancers. This led to a lot of people chasing these women up and down the hallways trying to get their money back while their pimp was being called to come up and rescue them. I laughed my ass off because it was 3 am and it felt like I was perusal a movie right before my eyes. That was the best $50 I spent that entire trip. The bottom line is who do you ask for help identifying local talent? The bartenders. They usually know whose around and what they’re up to. lol.
I never scammed anyone, but I also never went to a hotel or apartment without a room number. Robbers who couldn’t afford a room would ambush women in the hallway, stairwell, or double doors. It happened to me half a dozen times, at least. A girl wants to be able to ring an apartment buzzer and get an answer, or watch/listen for lights and sounds in the room to verify that there’s a paying occupant. Also, predators would give you one room number and come up behind you from the room across from it. Or they’d give the wrong room number so no one could come to your rescue. No way I’d meet with anyone who wouldn’t tell me where they’re at. If I got a room number and any other door opened or I was approached on the way to the room, I’d run. Both parties have to worry about their personal safety.
About 4 or 5 years ago my hubby, my 2 best friends and their husbands did a group trip to Vegas. We were going to have dinner at Spago, so we were dressed up nicely. I work in IT. A few years ago I worked for the venetian and palazzo hotels. They had company-wide meetings where they talked about security. One of the things that they mentioned was making sure that your hotel door is always shut. Because people would get in to the hotel halls, push on the hotel room door, and then get into your room and steal your stuff. Watch your back and be smart while you’re in vegas or anywhere, for that matter.

Moved here to open Wynn Las Vegas with 20+ years in the industry. Worked in slot management on the night shift. Passed time by talking to the prostitutes in the casino- we all knew who they were and they were only chased out when a wife or girlfriend complains. Usually a 3 day period where security and management cared, and then back to a free for all. The ladies would tell us how they worked the scams and we would watch the pick ups all night making bets on how long it would take before we see them come back down. They would find out from the cocktail servers who actually had a room at the hotel, and most times they got a little something to help target a mark with intel from the server. One of the moves is to pick up a guy… both accompany to ATM… one stands back to get the pin while the other is rubbing on and distracting the mark. They both go to the room, continue to ply the mark with alcohol until he passes out. Then they proceed to rob him blind. Most marks are not going to contact anybody because they are scared of being outed and may be embarrassed.
Was walking in a casino shopping mall area with my 25 year son, about 10 steps behind my wife, daughters, and sister. Two girls come up to me and one of them says “There you are! As for the topic of the article, it is best to avoid doing anything illegal anywhere in the world. Some people still do it based on common experience that a particular law is not enforced but even if and when this is true, it is still an invitation to all sorts of scammers and fraudsters to take advantage of your situation (as you can’t call the police etc.).
Best advice: You don’t need Las Vegas in your life. At all. It’s not that great. The lights are pretty, sure, but you are not Robert DeNiro or Joe Pesci in the movie Casino, and you never will be unless you are a famous rich person. You’re not the dudes from The Hangover 1, 2, or 3. If you can make it to your 30’s, once you’ve grown up, you won’t even miss it. If God ever told me he was going to remove all the memories I have of Las Vegas, as if they never happened, I would tell him, “Good. Be my guest!” That city does not care about you, nor do the people in it. I love/d partying as much as the next guy, but Vegas is just empty and hollow inside. You’ll never make any meaningful memories in Vegas that ever stack up to making memories with your family and friends at much more respectable places. Unless you are completely oblivious to people using you, and you are more than fine with that, Vegas isn’t your thing.
I used to go to Vegas for work about twice a month. Every time I had a girl ask me if I wanted to party I replied, ‘Sure, I charge $900/hr or $6k for the whole night….plus tip.” Some were taken back, some rolled their eyes and some just stood there like ‘what did this DadBod guy say to me?’ But they all walked away. I worked with a guy who went to the Spearment Rhino for a few drinks. From Canada, he wanted to celebrate his 21st birthday and was brand new to Vegas. 20/30 years ago, in New Jersey, at the Tomac Hotel, there was news of a nude guy and another guy fighting. Exactly what he said. He took a hooker to the room, but after he got undressed, she opened the door for her male friend to rob their victim. What they failed to realize, is the guy was in far better shape then they thought, and he did not hesitate when the other guy ran into the room. He tackled the man coming into the room like a tackle dummy, and pushed him down the stair railing, and got the better of him. He was beating on the guy with his junk swinging in the breese. The police came. The man was actually honest, about what happened, and then the police had a clue as to why a dozen men before had been robbed at the same hotel. They withheld his name from the news. (back in the day). Apparently, the first dozen men, did not fight back, so, the attackers were not prepared. So, what happened next? If I had to guess, I’d say the brought more muscle next time.
Having security before the elevators is such a great addition. Not solely for illegal activities lol but just in general. It’s nice knowing that anyone you encounter in the hallways, in the public areas etc is GOING to be a hotel guest if you’re anywhere over the ground floor. Hi Jacob, interesting topic. I am guessing you are not popular with the Vegas Board of Tourism. I would go to Vegas (my favorite town) about 3-4 times a year. Haven’t gone in a while due to lack of funds. Really miss it. I am fairly paranoid & knowledgeable on where to go to and where to avoid. I was just wondering if the guys/girls still hand out those prostitute/model cards in front of places like Planet Hollywood? I call them “slappers” because they snap or flick the cards to get your attention. I met a stripper at a strip club, got her number. When we texted a few days later, I told her I wanted to see her again at her club, she suggested she come to my hotel room first. I was a little nervous about that. She came and charged me for lap dances and time, then left, but it sucked, because it was awkward. I don’t recommend it to anyone. I personally noticed something else. A friend of mine went recently to Vegas who was interested in these types of girls. However, apparently you also get scammed a lot in Vegas. Asking for someone, getting someone else. So, they got a stripper through someone they knew. I will also visit Vegas soon, I’m not interested in these types of girls, but I just wondered how they scam potential customers. So, when I was checking a article out of some guy walking up and down the strip filming the strip, he showed one of those trucks that has a giant ad on them. One of them said something like, “Girls to your room”. So, I just wondered what these girls looked like. And checked the website out. And surprise surprise, the website uses pictures of attractive porn stars, but they just gave them different names… So, you think that you’re about to meet “Kagney Linn Karter” (they used her pictures), but instead you meet “Nicole” (that’s the name they gave her). I’m sure that all the other pictures were also fake. Because all pictures looked very professional just like Kagney’s pics. They even wrote their website’s name over those pics to make it appear more “legit”. 🤣
I’ll tell you 2 scenarios. You’re talking to an escort on the phone and you agree on $200. She gets to your room, you give her $200 then says, that money is for my time. If you want sex it’s another $400. You either negotiate her down or she walks with your $200. Scenario 2. You’re at a strip club. Stripper wants to take you to vip room, she tells you to give bartender $250. You do, head to the room then she says, it’s gonna be $300 to get it on. You’re like wtf was that $250 for, that fee goes to the club. Once again, forced to negotiate down or walk down $250. Now being ignorant going in yet the girl is smoking hot, might be worth it to you. But if the girl is not an 8 or a 10. Run!! I’ve seen some total mutts try to run this game. What a nightmare scenario.
My cousin went with a girl in Vegas, he was staying at Circus Circus, and she was staying there as well. When he got to his room, he realised that she must have had a stomach issue as she couldn’t stop passing wind. Needless to say, he wasn’t really in the mood with the constant sound and dreadful smell, so he just went to sleep in his clothes. She was gone in the morning.

Great vid Jacob and very informative. Was sitting at a casino counter bar in the Flamingo about 20 years ago when a striking beautiful woman sat down next to me. I typically hook up with college girls on spring break. #6 When I go alone I leave town as soon as I win or lose and get a burrito before hoping on the I 11. #7 All those girls playing you for drinks are hookers anyways. #8 If you’re gonna John or hook up in Vegas hide your money and valuables before the encounter. Also IF, and that’s a risky if, you are going to indulge and you go to her room, not only check place out thoroughly to make sure no one is hidden but that it’s not a connector room with that double door. There have been cases where she gets the guy naked and next thing you know that door busts open and you have guys w guns in your face . Totally bypasses the text play. If that door is there make sure it’s dead bolted from your side and the deadbolt on the regular hallway door is dead bolted from the inside in case they have room keys. If she objects you know to get the hell out quick. The keycard elevator is good defense in THEORY if it’s your room but there’s always going to be that idiot that the goons will take advantage of who will swipe their card for them when they get on the elevator right after talking about “hey I left my key w my gf/in the room/etc can you swipe it for me ?” Don’t be that idiot
Great article because I think men need to think about their safety too. Too many of them still think that nothing can happen to them or as seen numerous times, these girls look for those guys that are already on the tipsy or drunk side and common sense is already low or nonexistent, and lure them from their friends. If there’s drinking involved, there should be designated friends to keep them from getting themselves in danger. Best to just pony up the cash and go to where a legal brothel is.

I was a security guard on one of the strip casino’s, he is right on about everything he has said, beware when you visit SIN city, It didn’t get it’s name for being church loving people, My best advice to people is stay home enjoy and spend your hard earned money in your own home town. Spend your money on a new play ground for your own neighborhood. Forget coming here for sex and drinks, Buy your wife or GF a nice sexy outfit and install a stripper pole and build your own bar. I have seen people literally killed on the strip for just bumping into a person, So beware when you come to SIN city, Come to Vegas on vacation leave her on probation, beware

funny story to show how silly I am. My husband and I travel to Vegas often. The people are always trying to “sell” us something, so he told me to state “We live here” and they typically leave you alone…well, at Bally’s a gentleman was selling air pods (in the area where you go to the walkway between Paris and the restaurants) – me being me and trying to listen to my husband I yell “we live here”. My husband laughed so hard because he was selling air pods – makes no difference where you live lol. But it worked because I actually yelled it, and the guy acted a bit scared of me. 🙂

How can you justify that?” As she said that, a middle aged guy walked out the bedroom to landing security door and nipped passed us down the stairs and gone in a hurry (the walk of shame, leaving a knocking shop). So I says ; “That bloke was only in there 5 MINUTES and he is 30 quid lighter! If you dont like my price you can get quotes from other tradesmen.” She paid up, obviously.
Only had one problem thankfully. I got there almost every month. Once I was in Park MGM some guy tried to bum a smoke off me told him I don’t smoke an plus Park is a non smoking casino an he then followed me around and tried to get me to go downtown with him. Soon as I took security to get him away he jammed out. Super annoying he definitely seemed to be wanting to rob me considering he keeps saying it’s not safe to be in vegas alone, but he’ll take care of me. But I did tell him I was there with buddies.
As for scams, there’s also the up-sale scam. She hot, a true dream and promises you the time of your life for a reasonable price but, when you get to the room it’s more money for the honey. She might give a tug but that’s about it unless you pay up. Also be aware of the hottie that walks up to you asking if you play at other casinos. She’ll say she has chips from there and wants to exchange for cash. In most cases, the chips aren’t real. If you question her, she’ll say ok and hand you back some money…which will be fake also but, by then, she’s gone. I’ve also heard that this is also a way to proposition a possible client. She’s got $500 in chips meaning…you get the picture.
I’ve done a lot of traveling around the world and I can attest when you go to shady night places or engage with strippers, hookers etc. you put yourself at great risk. These traps are tricky and quick. It happened to me once while I was killing time waiting for a train having a drink in a pub next to the train station. The gal sat with me and the waiter immediately brought her a drink and I was obligated to pay for it. (old trick) In less than 30 seconds the trap was sprung. I felt uneasy about the place when I walked in…I should have listened to my gut.

When you walk up and down the strip there are dozens of guys passing out these baseball cards of these women with their photo and contact information on the card. Most people just throw them down so you can see them laying in the street hundreds of them. One of the pit bosses in the casino told me that the women’s pictures on those baseball cards look 100 times better than they do in real life. So if you get one of these cards and you think that woman on the card is fine looking you may want to think again.

From England me and 4 mates stayed in Vegas at the Aria . We are all big guys, Im 6’6″ and 300 pounds the others arent that much smaller . We can handle ourselves if need be but are nice guys and a bit naive as far as Vegas goes. A barman in the hotel always gave us a heads up if we were being targeted by prostitutes which was very helpful (we werent ther for that) . 1 Night we went down Freemont street, had a great time at the Golden Nugget casino I think . During a break from playing the tables we were hanging at a bar at the back of the place and were joined by 4-5 girls . Obviously they were way over friendly and very touchy feely, we bought a couple of rounds of drinks then made our excuses and left . It was a little while later I realised I had my gold chain stolen from around my neck . to this day I cant work out how they did it they were so smooth . Oh and i also used to take 2 phones with me, my real one and a very old £20 smart phone I got of ebay with and English only pay as you go sim card in . That came in VERY useful on a number of occasions.

Been to both Vegas and Reno. Ridiculous or not. I wore a belt underneath my pants with my credit cards, cash and ID. Pants also had a inside pocket for my phone. Women that approached me I simply said no thank you and kept walking. I never went to any shady places, even during the day. If you go looking for that type of action in Vegas, more than likely you’ll get burned. …and yes, I know I’m not the first person to wear this type of belt underneath their clothing.
Thanks Jacob for the heads up. The last time I was in Vegas was back in (2004? 05??) I didn’t utilize the services of any of the “ladies of the evening”, but I was mildly amazed at the sheer amounts of paper flyers (or “baseball cards” as I referred to them as) that literally littered so many streets and walkways, of women, (and a few men, and “they/thems”) advertising their “wares” and services. A few of these things even made their way in and onto the floors of more than one major casino. (Probably before they were spotted and picked up by a hotel/casinos custodial staff?) Now that damn near everyone has a “smart” cell phone, I am curious if such flyers still litter some portions of Las Vegas? I ask because I am assuming that such people would just advertise online…thereby eliminating the need for so many flyers??? Just curious. PS I must not be as “pretty” as I thought I was–even back in 2004 or 2005, because I don’t recall ANY gal approaching ME about ANYTHING at ANYTIME (except a cocktail waitress or two) that offered even a HINT of any kind of “proposal” or “proposition” that had any element of the sexual to it.😭😭😶
Don’t know why people would even go to Vegas. All the illegal stuff you can do in Vegas you can do in other countries. Where I am from you have young Venezuelan women just soliciting in the street. Anything illegal you can do with no fear of the police and it’s cheaper even when taking into account the plane ticket. Yes, it is a FACT that strippers hate and avoid couples in the strip club. When I worked at the Rhino in LV, I would avoid couples. Here is another scam: they will sit at a bar with slot machines and ask you to come over and talk to them. They will keep asking you to put money in the slot machine in front of them. They might gamble with it or just cash out after you leave. They’ll ask you to buy them drinks also, but they do that in every city.
