How Has The Trump Administration Affected Jewish Mysticism?

The Trump administration has been criticized for its deep-rooted affinity for the Jewish people and Israel, as well as its recent comments on antisemitism. Abraham Foxman, Greenblatt’s predecessor, expressed anticipation of violence spurred by Trump, but offered a positive assessment of the Trump presidency. The Jewish Democratic Council of America released a national poll of 800 self-identified Jewish voters that demonstrates robust support for Vice.

The Trump administration has challenged the American identity of several groups, particularly Mexican Americans, in a more direct and vicious manner than before. Many Jewish leaders, including those who overwhelmingly identify as Democratic and supported President Joe Biden in 2020, believe Trump’s latest comments promoted harmful antisemitic views. Jews at the convention point to Trump’s Mideast record as president, including the relocation of the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and the recognition of Israel’s sovereignty.

Trump told federal agencies “to consider” using the Sweden-based International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of antisemitism, which includes holding Jews collectively responsible. For liberal Jews, the Trump years represented a cold and lonely exile from the warm embrace of the United States. If Trump were to be the President of the United States, he would expect them to unite, as everything depends on them.

Trump has played on stereotypes about Jews and politics since his political career, and President Joe Biden has chosen to step aside in favor of another candidate. In the run-up to the 2020 US presidential election, it is time to reflect on the impact of Trump’s presidency on various countries across the world.

  • He has compared himself to God and Jesus and is now calling himself the Chosen One. A king of bold face shall arise. His power shall be great—but not by his own power; and he shall cause fearful destruction and shall succeed in what he does, and destroy mighty men and the people who are the saints. By his cunning he shall make deceit prosper under his hand, and in his own mind he shall become great. Without warning he shall destroy many. The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Biden doesn’t compare himself to God. Or Jesus. Or call himself the Chosen One. Wake up, MAGA. Biden 2024

  • @1:33 -Says “I’m the Chosen One” A little creepy.———Revelation 13; 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

  • my grandfathers were farmers, and durıng theır term, there ws nothing called like organic food! I think u already know why organiz food is expensive, becasue my father and mother mıggrated from village to city to earn more money, to have a more comfortable life, well, we couldnt earn more money, but slightly city life is easier than dealing with agricultre against nature!, ı am trting to say that, producing healthy, more qualified agriculture will definetely defeat any country that u will come across, becasue food, we all need it, and if it is natural, it zis the best thing to be traded, people should be provided a good technology to be better farmers, and to make theır lives easier, instead of having people work ın the farms, u can help tmem by tehcnology, and let them learn using the technology for the jobs that need physical working, u can even invent better foods, just like u did in hamburger, but this time, a healthier one! shelter, food, apperals, transportation, flying cars is a genious idea, going to space, u can even create a new political approach that will mark ur zname in history, instead of repeating urselves, most people get sick becasue of pyschological problems, u can figure out what makes ur people unhealthy so u can try to find solutions WITHOUT GIVING THEM EXTRA PILLS, NOT TO GET THEM ADDCITED TO THE PILLS! can u imagine ten Usher Raymond on the stage, and they do what exactly Usher does so when they get down to public they can never understand whıch one ıs real which one is not, u should dare ur people to dream more, becasue everything from the beginning just God’s dream!

  • We have been scheming and plotting against each other since the dawn of mankind. Absolutely nothing will ever change in the world as long as we see with eyes that say I’m American, Russian, Chinese, etc. Until we can realize we are all in this together these endless, pointless discussions will go on for all of eternity as will the conflicts, dramas and wars.

  • Once a prime minister of ly country (even if he wasn’t that good of a prime minister…) said that a leader could never complain. A leader of a country must never be seen as complaining because that would be an insult to all the people struggling and it would send the message that even if your strong and powerful in this country you’ll still be struggling. It would seems as if the leader wasn’t good enough, weak. And therefore, the country itself eould look weak. Years later we have Trump saying this: 0:34

  • I always like to point out that “A lie is designed to be believed and truth is hard to bear!” That’s why accepting the lie is often more successful from the truth! Take the rioters of the Capitol! Their committed to the lie so much so they find themselves trapped in it! All they have to do is admit they made a mistake and they believed the lie! Not so easy to do!

  • This brings into stark relief that role that Kellyanne Conway played in bringing “Alterrnate Facts” into the mainstream. From the White House, as counselor to the *president. I just watched an ABC special about white supremacy, and the role Trump has played in its resurgence. We have very dangerous times ahead, and we do need to learn from Germany. How did they address fascism and Nazism post WWII?

  • 1. Do not obey in advance. 2. Defend institutions. 3. Beware the one-party state. 4. Take responsibility for the face of the world. 5. Remember professional ethics. 6. Be wary of paramilitaries. 7. Be reflective if you must be armed. 8. Stand out. 9. Be kind to our language. 10. Believe in truth. 11. Investigate. 12. Make eye contact and small talk. 13. Practice corporeal politics. 14. Establish a private life. 15. Contribute to good causes. 16. Learn from peers in other countries. 17. Listen for dangerous words. 18. Be calm when the unthinkable arrives. 19. Be a patriot. 20. Be as courageous as you can. (Chapter titles from “On Tyranny” by Timothy Snyder.)

  • A good reminder that the ‘alarmists’ weren’t motivated by political opposition but were recognizing how dangerous, historically, the rhetoric was and where it could lead if it wasn’t taken seriously. The thing about being an alarmist that people don’t seem to appreciate… the abusive name calling and labels of ‘hysteric’ are much more tolerable than their fears being validated because if they are proven to be right, that means they failed. I love that the Daily Show keeps reposting this interview and I will engage and promote it every time as I hope more people come to understand that it wasn’t about the man or his policies, but the effect and harm of dangerous rhetoric if not taken seriously. It is what allowed the absurd ideas of QAnon and Plandemic to take hold on such a large segment of the American population after all.

  • (Cue DJ Khaled) ANOTHER ONE! While I actually prefer Quarantine ‘fro and hoodie to this Sunday-go-to-meeting’ haircut and suit, you still look good, and neither has had any effect at all on the Best-Guests-Best-Talk swag you’ve always had. Thank you. This dude has it covered. Love how he peeps the whole game at 4:15. Gotta get me a copy of ON TYRANNY to go with my pocket Constitution.

  • Why take chances with people’s lives? Instead of telling people to not come to the inauguration this year, DO NOT GIVE THEM THE CHOICE. Make the ceremony an exclusively VIRTUAL and private event, held at an undisclosed indoor location, that they can only see on television or online. Also, close the capitol to the public and protect it and those inside. This will save so much money and trouble -trying to protect everyone including the public from every possible threat that could arise and also would protect them all from more possible Covid-19 exposure.

  • The SS surely told him that there were violent armed insurrectionists in that crowd so you should subpoena his detail on 1/6 and that daily briefing re: crowd safety. The article demanding “a fight for democracy” and Rudy’s “trial by combat” incitements are that much more material to the insurrection charge. This is also supported by the article of the guy in the mob that said “Combat? Yea I’m ready for combat”

  • 04:24 Three steps to an authoritarian regime: Step 1: You lie. All the time. Step 2: You say it’s your opponents who lie, and the journalists. Step 3: Everybody looks around and says „What’s truth? There is no truth” and then resistance is impossible and the game is over. From Timothy Snider: „On Tyranny”

  • I found this 2 star rating on Amazon from a customer reviewing the book. Haha 2 star rating **Amazon Customer Will age poorly. Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2019 Verified Purchase Great book except for the implicit anti Trump rhetoric. Just as conservatives thought Obama would be the end of America, this Author incessantly compares Trump with Hitler, implying the end of America once again (this time from the other sude). Just as there was a peaceful transition in power from Obama to Trump, so will there be from Trump to the next candidate. Turns out this book was closer to the truth than this person realized.

  • Don’t forget people, he’s talking to all of us. Extremism one way creates extremism in another. Extreme right wing won’t ever beat extreme left or the other way around. If any one or any group is treated as an enemy they will surely become one. Vilify behaviors, not people and work toward collaboration not division. Any cowardly fool can hate and cause division it takes maturity, wisdom and courage to build together with those who have different experiences and views.

  • Most people yell at the TV. I guess it makes us feel better. POLITICIANS are the most yelled at,so researchers say. Injustice makes most of us mad—white police beating defenseless blacks; blacks beating innocent whites. Asians make some blacks mad. Some blacks make Asians mad. Some Hispanics detest blacks and whites. Some blacks hate other blacks; some whites hate whites and blacks. Arsonists of any color make me fume. The whole unjust system makes most of us mad. God knows how enraged we are! He’s not too happy about it Himself. Actually, He warns that no one is going to get away with any wrongdoing. He is going to punish the “unjust”—those “acting contrary to fairness and justice.” That should please you! Speaking of the “unjust,” have you ever: Lied? Hated? Lusted? Stolen anything? Had sex outside of marriage? Forget others–You’re in big trouble. Put the blame where it lies. You’re guilty of breaking the Ten Commandments, the moral Law of a holy God. The Bible speaks of only two types of people, regardless of skin color: the just and the unjust. The “just” are those whom God has cleansed of sin (justified, or made right with Him). The unjust are those who are still under God’s wrath. If your sins are not forgiven, the Bible says that you are part of the unjust–and the wages of sin is death and Hell. That why YOU need the Savior, Jesus Christ. He died to make you “just”–just as if you had never sinned. Though we broke God’s Law, Jesus paid the penalty for sin by dying on the cross: “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (Jn.

  • Ties in with another great book published in 2020: “Where Law Ends” by Andrew Weissmann, who was in charge of the team investigating Paul Manafort for the Mueller report. Andrews title refers to the quote of John Locke carved into the marble walls of the Justice Department, “Where Law Ends, Tyranny Begins”, which is what we have been perusal in this administration.

  • Primary principle of Conservatism : People are born into their lot in life(Gods will or sometimes called “The enduring moral order”) Therefore we are not create equal (This Idea kept Royalty and Nobles in power and then later the Victorians who were not royalty or nobles but became very wealthy and powerful under the British Empire) Primary principle of Liberalism : All people are created Equal under God and the law. (Which is complete opposite of the conservative principle )

  • There are some similarities and differences between 1930 Germany and US. What you surely can learn is how to get rid of the fascist mindset AFTER you got rid of the tyrant. Focus on that. Trump is gone but it will take decades to change the mindset wich brought him to power. A long way – all the best from germany!

  • There is just no way to face and overcome a crisis if no one can agree on what’s happening or what the reality even is. There can be no common sense when there is no common reality. With the internet and social media, people are only encountering what and who they already agree with, and there is nothing to make them consider other perspectives. That’s why we’re all fucked and it’s only getting worse. It’s time to seriously rethink what freedom of speech is truly supposed to be, and the RESPONSIBILITY that comes with it! Thank you, Trevor. Getting you to take over the Daily Show was a stroke of genius! We are always so proud of and grateful for you!

  • next week Tuesday is Trump last day and inauguration Joe Biden president, Kamala Harris will become vice-president, trump is not going to Biden inauguration, is he going to leave the day before ?, we the people put them in office I hope they remember their promise $2.000 stimulus check,,is president Obama, George Bush, Bill Clinton, and Bernie Sanders going to inauguration, the people need to see love and happiness strength, people need to see everyone working together around words

  • Niccolo Machiavelli wrote on the same subject 500 years ago and now we’re living through it ourselves with updated language. Snyder is right when he say’s its ‘about us’ and how we need to be better citizens if we want to maintain our freedoms and liberties. At least we still have enough energy in the Republic to attract people like Trevor.

  • Nixon was forced to resign by the Republicans for a much less a crime. More people have died in this riot than in Bengazi. Our Vice President, Speaker and Senate Majority leader and our elected officials were put in danger. Bombs were found in the Peoples house some of these people were explicitly calling out the three top people in the line of succession of power and wanted to harm them.. Assuming this mob had succeeded, and our elected officials had died, a vacuum would have been created, marshal law declared and the constitution of the United States would have been suspended and one man would have had absolute power. Judges and the courts will be powerless. Let this sink in for a moment. How can one claim to love a country and yet be willing to destroy the very institution that guarantees the freedoms that we all so cherish. Truth matters this book is so on point.

  • Trevor I’m very sad that you did not make any self articles of your thoughts of what is going on. Lately you’ve been on breaks or during the weekend you hardly even react but the time it’s your turn to talk because it’s old news. Nothing Stops you from going on YouTube and making the 3-minute article of telling us how you feel your thoughts might settle us your thoughts might help us Please consider actually making some few comments thoughts We could use someone telling us it’s going to be okay

  • There is nothing wrong to disagree….we Americans first and foremost. We have the right to disagree and to have an opinion. I’ve been an independent all my life and have voted both parties. Both have responsibilities for today’s problems. I disagree with either party that want radical changes to our constitution and fairness. A check and balance.

  • In the face of the recent events (the terroristic mob insurrection) in DC, I thought I’d tune into 🦊 just to see what they’re saying. Listening to the host drivel on about the constitution and articles 1,2 the 3rd (basically the same nonsense and perverted arguments of constitutional law that the courts threw out), he had me damn near convinced that the election was stolen 😂😂😂

  • Timothy Snyder is a first class historian. He is also typical of our profession in that people ignore our warnings till it is too late. We spend our lifes studying and learning every detail of our subjects, to be able to recognise patterns and issue warnings so that people can learn from the past. And when we start warning, people ignore us and call us alarmists. Thanks Trevor for bringing him on, even though it had been better to do four years ago. He said the same things then, many of us did.

  • Trevor, you are in a position to propagate for a people who don’t have a voice. All I can ask from you as a major fan and as a voice to be heard, is to fight for, and try establish a means for people of color, to have their views heard and debated, if nothing else. However, thank you for all that you have done so far, your efforts can never be in vein 👊

  • We need to get truth in journalism back. I know there has to be a way to get elected representatives to realize laws are needed to have them act as if under oath when on public media. Likewise journalistic outlets should represent that truth in a manner which clearly separates reporters opinions from the facts they present. Maybe getting a letter to my congressional rep?

  • Two types of people: some run on a static algorithm because they’ve been taught to not change theirs. Some, like me, dropped out and self educated. Idk how you get through their schools with your learning ability intact, but I assume there are many who have done that as well. All we need to do is stop teaching people to try to memorize things and keep them forever. Information has to be able to change your plan. Or we’re toast. Edit: I’m 40, retired, in Montana. Solar is 75%, geothermal year round greenhouse coming soon. It’s Star Trek for some of us, Sun gods for others.

  • Yes, and as you’re all paying $5/gallon for gasoline a year from now, just remember that this decision was made by ‘people,’ using the term generously, that You Did Not Elect. That $5 per gallon would have been decided by officials appointed by a Dominion voting machine. Otherwise known as: Taxation Without Representation. And isn’t that an interesting name for a voting machine? Dominion: supremacy · ascendancy · domination · superiority

  • I think, at this point it is a wee bit embarrassing for the daily show website to reissue all those throwback article, while all the other websites are burning up with new content of the most exciting week of the year (so far) – in their place, I’d just quietly shut up until everybody is back in the office and I could comment on current events 🙈

  • You know how there’s a Trump tweet for every Trump hypocrisy? Now that Trump has been banned from Twitter, I feel like Trevor and the Daily Show are stepping up to the responsibility of presenting an old segment they taped long ago for each new Trump criminality going forward. I am absolutely aching to watch new episodes, but I think the Daily Show with Trevor Noah can pull off a whole season of just posting re-runs which would still be totally relevant today, whichever day “today” happens to be.

  • Sanctity Sunday : Emancipation for the unborn, We need to pray that abortion continues to decrease as we see the opportunity for increase politically. We watch the same sex receive greater equality and liberties with a pursuit for happiness. How is it that two people of the same sex that cannot be fruitful could tolerate partiality and condone capital punishment for those helplessly plugged into life? Luke 6: 43 “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Prayers are always gonna be needed for Mercy and compassion seems to play a different part in mans eyes. Matthew 7:16 NMV “By their deeds you will know them. Does a man gather grapes from thorns or figs from briars?”
