How Many Yugioh Field Spells Are Available For Use?

Field Spell Cards are a subcategory of Spell Cards placed in the Field Zone and remain active. Each player can only have one field spell, making them a field spell rather than a continuous one. To use another field spell, players must send their previous card to the Field Zone.

To play a field spell, players can place the card from their hand into their Spell and Trap Zone and follow the instructions on the Field of Play. Each player has five spots for Spells/Traps, and a Spell/Trap can be put face-down (Set) into an open spot at any time during a player’s own turn. Most Field Spells affect all players, but some apply their Effects only to their controller’s side of the Field.

The Seal of Orichalcos is the only Field Spell Card that can be activated only once per Duel. Players may only control one Field Spell Card and can activate or Set another one. Both players can have one Field spell in play at the same time, and there are only 5 spells/traps on the field at any given time (except for Field Spell).

In general, players should have around 50 monsters and 50 spells/traps on the field, but the numbers can fluctuate depending on the deck being built. There can only be one active Field Spell Card on the field at any given time between both players. When a new Field Spell Card is activated, the player can reveal 1 “Abyss Actor” Pendulum Monster and 1 “Abyss Script” Spell in their hand.
