Field Spells Duel Links: How To Obtain Them?

The Duel Links wiki by GameA provides quality guides and the latest news for players of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links. The field spell “Umi” can be used to target a “Trickstar” monster in your GY that was used as its material, and special Summon it in the draw phase. The character skill “Dinosaur Kingdom” can activate the Field Spell “Jurassic World” to gain 300 ATK and DEF for all Dinosaur-Type monsters.

The Field Spell “Sogen” can be obtained from the Bingo Mission once you unlocked Joey Wheeler. This card is more viable than Aroma Gardening in Duel Links since it doesn’t occupy a Spell/Trap card zone. To balance, use Spell Recycle: Field to return Field spells sent to the graveyard by Ancient Fairy Dragon’s effect to gain LP back to your deck. An upgraded version of this skill is Field Restock, which does almost the same thing.

Field Spell Cards on the field cannot be destroyed, and neither player can activate a new Field Spell Card. You can only control one “Field Barrier”. Demise of the land allows you to activate a field spell from your deck when an opponent special summons a monster. If the player already has a card in their Field Zone, the existing card is sent to the Graveyard first. Field Spells must remain on the field to resolve, so they must remain on the field to resolve.

For those looking specifically for a field that can be used, Sorcerous Spell Wall works with any type, and Mausoleum of the Emperor can help you get the desired effect.

What is a field spell?

Field Spell Cards are powerful tools that can alter the entire state of play for a player’s or both players’ side of the field. They are Spell Speed 1 and are placed on the Field Zone, separate from the Spell and Trap Zones. Fields typically focus on boosting ATK and/or DEF for cards with specific attributes, types, or archetypes. Players can activate or set a Field Spell Card at any time during their Main Phase, and existing cards are sent to the Graveyard if they already exist. Field Spells, like Continuous Spells, must remain on the field to resolve, so their effects are not applied if destroyed before they can resolve.

Necrovalley is a powerful field spell in Duel Links, preventing cards from leaving the graveyard and shutting down entire strategies. It is useful in the Gravekeeper archetype but can be used as a floodgate to hamper opponent’s plays and win the duel. Many strategies can use an Invocation engine to instantly boost their power, making Necrovalley a valuable resource for decks that don’t need its graveyard.

Can you activate a field spell over your own?

The game of Duel has introduced a new rule that allows both players to have an active Field Spell Card. This change was implemented between March 21st, 2014, for the Online Game of Cards (OCG) and July 10th, 2014, for the TCG. Previously, only one Field Spell Card could be active at a time, but activating a new one would destroy the currently active card. Now, players must send their own Field Spell Card to the Graveyard to activate a new one.

The question arises whether only face-up Field Spell Cards can be sent to the Graveyard to activate or set a new one, or if a Set Field Spell Card can be sent without first activating it. In a Duel, the player would likely activate a face-down Field Spell Card to bluff their opponent.

F. A. has three Field Spells: Circuit, Off-Road, and City, which tie for the record. However, the statement that these cards are their only Spell support does not apply to them. Additionally, Dragon Ravine is the first to be banned in the TCG, but Chicken Game is also banned. No other Field Spells have been banned in the TCG, but Dragon Ravine is banned in the OCG.

  • Combo this card with Demise of the Land and GG Demise of the land(Quick play spell): when your opponent special summons a monster, you can activate a field spell card directly from your deck(N card, Truth Universe). Also makes great combos with Summon Breaker(N spell card, Secrets of the Ancients mini box)

  • I actually prefer field spell “summon breaker” (N rarity). If any player summon 3 times during their turn, it automaticly end the turns. So once opponent xyz or syncro, it quickly become end phase and they cannot attack or activate their effect this turn, except the summoning effect. But its downside, it can easily destroyed by any backrow remover. I usually use this in my metaphys deck, since its not summon many monsters in one turn.
