This is definitely a possibility, though admittedly scaling, Hinata is the same problem as scaling someone like Tony Stark from the marvel universe. Sure, they tend to end up, going up against final boss, level material, but ultimately get bodied in the end. I think her best feed ironically is her loss against Momo Shiki. I could say this, because she appeared to end up no worse than her husband who fought him prior.

I think the Tenseigan reverting back worked like this. When Toneri was defeated it was deactivated (similar to how if an Uchiha was knocked their Sharingan would deactivate) and since they were given back to Hanabi as Byakugan that is what they stayed as. Similar to how Nagato can’t use the Sharingan abilities since it was implanted as a Rinnegan.

For the sake of having fun, I thought about how to give the Byakugan a similar path and power progression that the sharingan has. For the sake of not having to come up with new names I’ll call the mengekyo sharingan equivalent B2 and the tenseigan will be B3 for brevity. So it’s my own head cannon that the Sharingan is connected to Yin release. Now since the byakugan is basically the other half of the sharingan I think it only makes sense that it is connected to yang release. We also know that yang release is very connected to taijutsu and so is the byakugan. So I want to lean into that aspect. As for the appearance of B2, it will simply be the purplish part of the base byakugan but it’s like it dilates to cover the entire eye. As for the method to attain the B2, the user must gain full control of the 8 gates. And in order to activate the B2, you must activate your gates. Perhaps each gate unlocks more powers or something but it doesnt matter. The mengekyo sharingan gains 2 unique abilities that I believe are uniquely yin release based as most of the abilities are very abstract and are often genjutsu abilities. Leaning into that, I say the B2 gains 2 yang release abilities. Now since we don’t have much to go on in that category I will have to make something up. The Akimichi clan can increase their physical body’s size using yang release. Maybe we can simply say one ability could be exactly that, increasing one’s own physical size. Another could be decreasing an enemy’s physical size.
Part of this article is false: you only need the chakra of an Otsutsuki member + a Hyugan Byakugan in order to unlock Tenseigan. This means Hinata very likely has access to it and is actually beneficial in this case because she can use regular Byakugan whenever she needs it, something an Otsutsuki member would be unable to do. This is why Toneri’s Tenseigan fades when he’s out of chakra at the end of the movie.

Why do I have the explicit feeling that Toneri’s Tenseigan wasn’t actually complete despite what was presumed a completed Tenseigan transformation? Like SwagKage said, Toneri’s Tenseigan literally dissolves after a loss of the battle, mainly to ensure that Hanabi didn’t retain Tenseigan, but I think it runs deeper than that, and could make way to a possible True Tenseigan. Considering that Toneri took Hanabi’s eye’s because they were “Pure” could also mean that Hanabi herself was pure. Toneri, on the other hand, is by all means not even close to being considered a pure being. With that in mind, after the loss against Naruto on the Moon, Toneri lost his Tenseigan because the “Pure” eyes of Hanabi rejected Toneri as a whole at Toneri’s most vulnerable position-defeat. At this point, Hinata takes back Hanabi’s eyes, and Toneri’s Tenseigan is fully nullified. This could also lead to Hanabi awakening the Tenseigan on her own merits (if Kishimoto is enough of a madman to do it). This would require her to have a Byakugan from an Otsutsuki transplanted into herself. Since she would still be “Pure” and would be retaining her “Pure” eyes during the transplant (along with the fact that her eyes have had previous experience with the Tenseigan), she would theoretically achieve the “True Tenseigan”. She would be able to retain and repeatedly activate the Tenseigan after multiple battles, and given enough time, she could even possibly evolve it into a new Dojutsu unheard of in Ninja history and even by members of the Otsutsuki.

Some Alternative Bonus abilities to the Tenseigan, while still keeping the theme of the VISUAL in “Visual Technique” that I thought of (in ascending order of OP): – COMPLETE 360 degree vision – obviously the Chakra mode would grant them – foresight and enhanced perception (i.e. “seeing” into the future, similar to the Lv. 2 Sharingan),- Visual reconstruction of past events, so they could “see” how an event in the past as if they were present,- Chakra absorption via affecting Chakra pathway, – Remote affecting of Chakra points seen on the target,- affecting the Chakra efficiency of the target (e.g. 200% necessary chakra is spent for only100% of the effect)- absolute sealing of chakra flow of the target, removing the ability to use any and all chakra And as for Aquisition, maybe expend >99% of their chakra, basically die, and “revive” themselves through sheer willpower. So while Uchiha need to experience loved ones dying, Hyuga themselves must experience dying.
Wasn’t it stated that the Otsutsuki Clan (i.e. the branch living on the moon descended from Hamura) also started out with Byakugan, but would rip out and seal their eyes in the Energy Vessel at a young age to keep it powered? In which case, I would imagine a Hyuga clan member could hypothetically take and implant an Otsutsuki’s eyes and gain it, too. Granted, we’re dealing with Kishimoto’s writing here, so it being logical doesn’t necessarily mean much, but still. My question is, what might happen if one were to acquire a Tenseigan and a Rinnegan? Might some new dojutsu result? In fact, if I recall correctly, the child of an Uchiha and a Hyuga would supposedly have a Byakugan in one eye, and a Sharingan in the other, meaning they could hypothetically awaken both abilities and also retain the “only the original user can fully utilize an eye’s power” thing. I think that it grants the same powers as six paths because it is the highest level ability from Hamera’s side of the family. The rinnegan is achieved by combining the chakra of the reincarnates of indra and ashura. The tenseigan is achieved by combining the chakra of an otsutsuki and the “pure” byakugan. Some byakugan might be pure because the original owner may have been a reincarnate of someone special. Also it may have disappeared due to a lack of chakra.
I’d take this Dojustu before any others, I’ll say that. It may not be as haxxed as the Sharingan or Rinnegan, but it’s still extremly powerful. The Byakugan on it’s own is already a powerful dojustu. Having a op Chakra mode(similar to Naruto’s or Juubito/Juudara’s transformations), the gravitational abilities of the Tenseigan and energy absorption is a pretty potent combination. People often forget how special the mangekyo sharingan, let alone the rinnegan are. The common limit of most Uchiha members are the three tomoe. Only the ones who experience traumatic events activate the mangekyo sharingan and loose eyesight and the sharingan abilities over time. People forget that. So the Eyes have a big drawbag! Only if you transplant the eyes of one blood relative that also has the mangekyo Sharingan, witch is again only activated after a traumatic event, you get the eternal mangekyo sharingan and the drawback of blinding is eliminated. That itself is so rare and also gruesome that only two members in the entire Ninja history got the eyes. Luckily both got apparently good medics to not get their eyes infected and have an actual operation! Like what are the odds?! Finaly the rinnegan isn’t just an evolution of sharingan. But only formed after madara implanted hashirama cells, which is the reincarnation of Asura while he is the reincarnation of Indra. So it’s not the sharingan, but the combination of both Chakras of the reincarnation of the sons of the sage of six paths that activate the rinnegan. No other Uchiha is able to get this power, other than being choosen by the Sage of Six paths himself! Which happened once after the world nearly ended so he saw the necessity to grand the power! So the rinnegan doesn’t make the sharingan more op, cause no one besides sasuke or madare will ever have it. They will not reincarnate as their battle is over! So to make the tenseigan an utsutsuki exclusive makes sense, cause the rinnegan is also close to impossible to get, and only if you happen to have six paths Chakra in you.
So I have an idea to help balance the Byakugan and the Sharingan without retracting anything. So mainly its adding a middle stage for the Byakugan, an Avatar like the Susanoo, and a post Tenseigan variant like the Rinne-Sharingan. The middle stage is the Amado Byakugan, Amado being a window shutter and is signified by a thick, dark outline around the signature Byakugan white eye. This gives the user unique Taijutsu techniques, paralleling the unique Genjutsu techniques of the Mangekyou Sharingan. The Amado Byakugan would also give the users access to the Bāxiān (or another name for the same thing, it’s the reference that matters), an 8 armed avatar like the Susanoo. Bāxiān is the pinyin for the 8 Taoist Immortals, mirroring Susanoo being a Japanese god, and certain techniques in Tai Chi are based on the 8 Tao Immortals. So certain techniques accessed through the Amado Byakugan would be named after the 8 Immortals like Amaterasu, Izanagi, Izanami, Tsukuyomi, etc. are named after Japanese deities. Now regarding the limits of the Tenseigan excluding anyone outside of the Otsutsuki clan, the reason could be a misunderstanding of the way to get the Dojutsu, that one would need to unlock the Amado Byakugan, then an Eternal Amado Byakugan before being able to develop a Tenseigan, so only an Otsutsuki having the least diluted bloodline already has an equivalent to a Amado Byakugan. Now beyond the Tenseigan would be the Tensei-Byakugan, which would be a parallel to the Rinne-Sharingan.
I think people dont give the Tenseigan enough credit. It’s still incredibly powerful. We only really saw a snippet of what it’s likely capable of, since Toneri is far from the best fighter in the Naruto universe. From it’s usage it either gives the user as many truth seeking balls as they want (which in itself would be extremely strong) and gives them a far higher level of control over truth seeking balls, even beyond their normal shapeshifting abilities which probably means theres possibly limitless techniques for a user of the Tenseigan. Not to mention flight and attraction and repulsing moves. Acquiring a Tenseigan is hard, yeah, but so is a Rinnegan (remember it took Madara decades to manifest his), and a Tenseigan fading upon defeat honestly doesnt seem like that big of a deal to me…since well, shit. Toneri is fighting Naruto and Toneri himself again isnt the most skill fighter. If someone like Sasuke or Madara or Kakashi had the Tenseigan they’d probably be completely broken. It can probably be safe to assume against anyone that isn’t ridiculously strong/plot protected character in the Naruto universe, Tenseigan would easily overwhelm them.
As a lover of the Byakugan and Hyuga clan I was really excited to hear about the Tenseigan I mean it’s op as hell. The tenseigan Chakra Mode not only look badass but it also gives you one of the most broken abilities in the universe which is the Truth Seeking Ball! The Tenseigan can even enhance the destructive power of those balls ! Honestly when he mentioned the fact that it had no ocular power I kind of thought about the rinnegan since it’s abilities are also kinda wack Also why did the article not mention the giant tenseigan on the moon is weird… Even though it’s barely canon It’s still my favorite Dojutsu and I’m somewhat happy that the byakugan got a upgrade even though obtaining it is basically impossible for a Hyuga Also I kind of think of the Tenseigan as like the Mangekyo for the Sharingan.(or maybe the rinnegan would make more sense) It can be turned off and on freely but using the Tenseigan is way more taxing on the user than the Byakugan. The tenseigan looked like a hybrid of the the Rinnengan and Mangekyō Sharingan. The power level of the Rinnengan but also the possibility of evolution from the Byakugan to the Tenseigan like the Sharingan to the Mangekyō Sharingan. Just a way to amp up the Hyūga clan because Kishimoto focused way too much on the Uchiha
I think that Toneri didn’t lose the tenseigan until Hinata ripped his eyes out and the reason Hinabi doesn’t have it is because you have to be an Otsusuki member to use the tenseigan so when hinabi got her eyes back the eyes reverted to Byakugan and if you want to say “after Naruto punches him why did his eyes revert?” I think in that sense it’s like the rinnegan in the case that you can revert your rinnegan back to the Sharingan
Toneri didn’t lose the Tenseigan because he lost the fight, it reverted back to normal because Hinata destroyed the energy container that was powering it. Also by pure Byakugan (and this is pure speculation but it makes sense) he meant a Byakugan of the line that led directly back to Hamura, just as the Rinnegan needs Indra and Asura’s chakra the Tenseigan needs a main line Hyuuga and a moon Otsutsuki that are compatible with each other.
I have a feeling that Tensaigan is similar to Rinnegan in that it requires specific DNA. Given that Rinnegan requires Senju and Uchiha DNA, maybe Tensaigan requires Hyuga and Otsutsuki DNA, which could be why Toneri went after Hinata or Hanabi, again, just a theory. Also, I don’t think Toneri could use all of the eyes’ abilities, after first initially awakening MS Sasuke wasn’t able to just use Amaterasu or control the flames like he could later in the series, he had to get used to using his MS. His Rinnegan powers also aren’t the most polished when he first gets it from the Sage of Six Paths But we know he’s become more familiar with it over time. I’m hoping the Tensaigan will become more developed in Boruto. Perhaps an Otsutsuki member may unlock its power and we can get a better rundown of its capabilities.
Actually I think Toneri’s Tenseigan vanished because of chakra consumpition due to his body isn’t yet used to it (like Kakashi’s first time using MGK) or he has low chakra reserves or the third it has a time limit, but I’ll go with first which is more suitable for me rather than just win/lose condition. I’m going to explain why himawari will get the tenseigan 1- she has ties with they hyuga clan and has the byakugan 2- Naruto has 6 paths powers and himawari probably will inherit some of 6 paths power 3- Also 6 paths is a otsosuki 4- so if she did inherit some of 6 paths powers from naruto then she would prolly get the tenseigan 5- Also, naruto has some of hashirama cells because of his transplanted arm and I think you need some of those cells to awaken the tenseigan, so himawari will probably inherit some of the hashirama cells.
Hinata should have acquired Tenseigan by the end of the Last Movie. Whether by being given by Toneri, forceably implanting her eyes into Toneri after the whole incident as a ‘fuck you’ and taking them back or anything else she should have gotten the Tenseigan to be on par with Naruto and give her more of an impact going into Boruto. I like to believe that the ocular abilities of the Tenseigan are the same as those of the Byakugan, just that Toneri was probably too much of an arrogant piece of shit at the time to actually use them. I do know about it. In detail 😎. . . . The principal for tenseigan is slightly different from what you’ve covered. In sharingan as you know can reach its 2nd form by combining the it another compatible sharingan. According to the author himself this detail was missed in the shippuden series, however they did explain a couple of things such as the tenseigan requires a perfect byakugan or in other words a PURE byakugan. The reason is because the byakugan is basically called “Eyes that search for the truth” where as sharingan is called the eyes that reflects the heart. Tenseigan requires the purest form of byakugan however since hanabi hadn’t fully mastered the byakugan her eyes weren’t able to keep the tenseigan for long. As for how strong the tenseigan really is ?? Well you can figure that out yourself by remembering how both six paths and hamura beat kaguya. Hagoromo = Darkness, Hamura= light. Thats yin and yang.

I think the “Tenseigan” is just Byakugan but is being utilized to the fullest extent. The reason why the Otsuski (dunno how to spell) are the only ones who can activate is is because they know more about the Byakugan than humans do. And the only way for them to activate it, is by becoming a Sage before getting laid Or take some virgin Hyuuga eyes instead. Ok… While the Tenseigan may not look like it has no ocular capabilities, I think this maybe because the Tenseigan pushes the users ability to process information up and through their limits, hence the power to rival Naruto’s 6PSM on top of Kyuubi Chakra Mode. Tenseigan basically pushes the users processing power through the roof, making full use of Byakugan’s abilities and the user’s abilities and body. The chakra mode is the result of the body understanding everything. And when Toneri lost, his body also felt it, thus it gave up and slowed down forcing the eyes to deactivate back into the Byakugan because the body was no longer able to handle the amount of information the Tenseigan was giving.
It’s pretty late for this but I have a theory: Well… Sharingan – Uchiha with strong emotion Mangekyou sharingan – losing someone that you have a strong bond with Rinnegan – Uchiha sharingan + Senju cells What if… Byakugan – just being Tenseigan – Hyuga Byakugan + Ootsutsuki Byakugan Jougan – Yhuga / Ootsutsuki Byakugan + Uzumaki cells
I think byakugan can evolve into a tenseigan can be obtained by receiving hamuras chakara just like the rinnegan (I don’t know for sure because hinata’s byakugan didn’t evolve into tenseigan but I think just receiving hamuras chakara isn’t enough there are more conditions than I think she might awaken it in boruto) anyway guys that’s what I think what do you say
well i’ve read some really weird things like: “why does Hanabi not have this eye when it got planted back to her” well… it simply translates into: “Reincarnation Eye” and i think that the eye only awakens when someone else gets them, it’s like the “Internal Mangekyou Sharingan” which u only activate by implanting the Mangekyou Sharingan from a Person in your family, like your Brother or Sister. which means if Hanabi would have the Mangekyou Sharingan, she wouldnt get the Iternal Mangekyou Sharingan when she gets her own eyes back, thats simply not how this works and why the Tenseigan goes away after a fight is probably because he went out of chakra, so he couldnt hold it anymore and it transfered itself to the normal Byakuugan. which probably means that if u want to have the Tenseigan, you would need to swap your eyes with the eyes of someone who has the Byakuugan himself, it has more of a variety than the Sharingan probably and u dont need someone blood related to activate the Tenseigan. the Tenseigan is just another version of the Iternal Mangekyou Sharingan if you think about it.

I believe that Tensaigan is a rival more of a So6p + The Rinnegan, the Tensaigan provides the truthseeking orb while the Rinnegan without the so6p doesn’t, and the Tensaigan was Hamura’s original ability at first while the Rinnegan and the So6p+Purple Rinnegan was Hagoromo’s Since the Tensaigan was originally is Hamura’s eye, and maybe it has the same restriction being that the Purple Rinnegan is Hagoromo’s eye, that being said, while creating a Rinnegan needed to combine the two reincarnation of Hagoromo’s sons, the Tensaigan maybe the same but since all the Hyuga are Hamura’s descendant, they need a “pure” byakugan, we never get to know who’s Hamura’s sons so maybe this is the way to attain the Tensaigan It also seems that to damage a Tensaigan user, they need sage power and Taijutsu, we can see that Naruto needed to use his sage enhanced kcm to fight Toneri, it’s not a fact but i would assume that it’s the case. That’s why i think Tensaigan is more of a rival to So6p+Rinnegan
Ok, fan theory time: what if the Tenseigan is awakened by the transfer of the eye from one descendant of Hamura to another, so when Hanabi regained her eyes, she didn’t retain the power that they gained while transferred because they her original eyes. So in this sense the Tenseigan is a mixture of Mangekyo and Rinnegan. Now what if that means that any of the descendants of Hamura have the ability to gain Tenseigan by simply performing complex eye transplant surgery to one another, enduring the months of recovery, potential transplant rejection and adjustment to the power. When Hamura gave Hinata her power boost, I figured he would have given her those eyes, but he didn’t. Perhaps, he didn’t because she didn’t do the eye transplant. That doesn’t cover how he unlocked it, but I will put that under plot reasons. Anyway, all of that is to say that Hinata and Hanabi could gain the power if they traded eyes Madara style.
I assume toneri was using a forced method of aquiring the tenseigan, which ultimately wasnt his own, so i assume he depleted the energy for his false or incomplete tenseigan, i assume hamura altered his bloodline or that of his descendants to restrict the awakening of tenseigan, or unique to ototsuki or half ototsuki members, and the hyuuga or moons ototsuki bloodline diluted or simply a quirk of the ototsuki, as each member has their own specialties.
So i think the tenseigan deactivated because its entirely possible that toneri ran out of chakra. Hes an otosuki so that probably gives him more chakra than most normal ninja but its still entirely possible that using the abilities of the tenseigan is draining on your chakra just like rinnegan and sharingan abilities could be wrong but thats just a theory
The tensiegan is the formed from power/dna of otsutsuki and byakugan (Hyuga clan member) while the Rinnegan is formed by the Sharingan and Senju or Uzumaki power/dna. This is why Boruto is going to be verystrong. Boruto has dormant power of Hamura (Otsutsuki + Hyuga) and half of Hagoromo (Uzumaki) in his DNA. If Sasuke decides to give his eyes to Boruto, theoretically, he will have the potential of Kaguya Otsutsuki.
I think himawari should be able to obtain the tenseigan if orochimaru implants her with hashirama cells and was subjected to otsutsuki blood. It would actually be pretty cool and give her a pretty good reason to be a main character because right now she’s just a young child and we don’t see very much of her at all but after the timeskip I would very much enjoy seeing her as more of a main character and a very powerful kunoichi after all she is the daughter of Naruto and Hinata. (Correct me if I’m wrong but Hinata is from the main branch of the hyuga clan aswell so that would give himawari the most potent hyuga genetics so maybe she could get kidnapped by an otsusuki clan memeber and then rescued by naruto and then have orocnimaru implant the hashirama cells in her to survive the effects of being submitted to the tenseigan transformation !!!
Actually toneri originally was targeting hinata but naruto stopped him so he had to settle for hinabis eyes, as a result the tenseigan likely deactivated as it wasnt fully awakened in the first place due to hanabi’s byakugan likely not being as pure or mature as Hinatas. I presume the Jogan is the progenitor of both the byakugan and tenseigan just as the rinne sharingan is the progenitor of the sharingan and rinnegan and if so that means the tenseigan has the same level of chakra sight being able to see tenketsu and maybe even the jogans dimensional abilities. Since it is the counterpart to the rinnegan i suspect it also has a “Four Noble Paths” ability corresponding to the four heavenly realms above the six realms of samsara in buddhism. Toneri is also the ONLY naruto movie villain besides momoshiki and kinshiki to be canonized in the series via Boruto.

Yo swag Tenseigon was not only to give hyugas historic significance I don’t think kishi was trying to make byakugon look as useful as Sharingon because it kind of already is depending on the user. Plus if you gave it a middle stage of transformation it would be too much like the Sharingon. Byakugon users basically all have the same powers ( rotation, gentle fist, 8 trigrams, air palms, 360 vision) but the strength of it depends on the user take sasuke rescue mission arc neji when he fought kidomaru kido found out he actually had a blind spot, since than neji trained and eventually eliminated the blind spot kido found in his byakugon while also enhancing his other byakugon powers ( when he one shot air palmed edo kidomaru ). Than you see other crazy abilities byakugon has like ao seeing thru Danzo using kotoamatsukami or kaguya byakugon that fucking creates shock waves that rival almighty push, not to mention every otsusuki ( besides Indra and asura I think) uses byakugon as frequently as their Sharingon so it’s not like it doesn’t have any historical significance if anything it has just as much as Sharingon Sharingon is just more interesting
byakugan is the most mysterious dojustu in naruto you see we all know the byakugan is considered sharingan equal some might say the sharingan is stronger but that isnt true you see this two dojustu gave their stages, the sharingan has 4 stages with certain conditions the sharingan,ms,ems and rinnegan (like I said with certain conditions) in the other hand byakugan has 3 stages, byakugan,tensaigan,jougan . you see the second evolved stage of byakugan is completely stronger than any stage of sharingan because this dojustu Grant’s the user truth seeking orbs (capable of slicing the moon),five chakra nature release plus yin and yang,perfect chakra mode,deva parth,rebirth similar Rinne rebirth with this dojustu you can create thing from imagination bro the tensaigan is absolutely broken if used in the right way it will be the 2nd strongest dojustu, if the second form of byakugan(tensaigan) has this abilities just think of its evolved form Jougan. there is action yet to see
Funny someone on Naruto wiki did a forum on what if he was Kishimoto and he wrote the Tenseigan in the story and one of his suggestions is the Tenseigan gives you the ability to absorb another person’s chakra which gives you access to their abilities like if you absorb some of Sasuke’s chakra your Tenseigan will gain the Deva Paths abilities and when you absorb Naruto’s you’d get Yin-Yang Release
I really like what the fanfic White Eyes did with the Byakugan and Tenseigan, introducing a Mangekyō equivalent for the Byakugan called the Gokei Byakugan (with 4 jutsu known as Kokosora, Hiragekoma, Kesshotoketsu, and Vishnu), and reworking the Tenseigan to incorporate a system of anti-chakra consisting of 4 subtypes—Voracious, Adamantine, Obdurate, and Edacious.
Ok so check this out. Toneri wanted Hanabis eye because her byakugan was “Pure”. You have to be Otsutsuki and implant the Byakugan to awaken the Tenseigan. SPOILERS COMING SPOILER ALERT FOR ALL YOU BORUTO NON MANGA FANS AND STRICTLY ANIME WATCHERS FROM THIS POINT ON YOUVE BEEN WARNED BORUTO is now 100% Otsutsuki since being saved by Momoshiki. The Jougan is literally called the PURE EYE. Boruto of course is also a Hyuuga with Hagoromo and Hamuras chakra. So what if the Jougan is just the middle stage of the Tenseigan and he can switch between Jougan and Tenseigan at will like Mangekyou and Rinnegan.

I want to speculate. The Sharingan seems to have Yin-aligned abilities (manifesting concept through the use of spiritual energy), while it seems arguable that the Byakugan has Yang-aligned abilities (perceiving and manipulating the physical mechanisms of chakra through the use of physical energy). Hagoromo had a Rinnegan, which we can consider Yin-dominant but not Yin-exclusive, and Indra inherited the Yin part of this while Asura inherited the smaller Yang half (and thus did not manifest a dojutsu). Hamura had a Byakugan, which we can consider Yang-aligned. Now, Hagoromo achieved Six Paths powers when he became the Juubi jinchuriki, introducing the Yang chakra he lacked and elevating his dojutsu to the Rinne-Sharingan. Now, if the Byakugan was augmented with Yin chakra, this would theoretically produce similar Six-Paths power. So, if Toneri had been born with predominantly Yin-chakra (which could happen even though he was born from Hamura, because Asura still inherited Yang from Hagoromo), then implanting the Yang-aligned Byakugan would essentially create Yin-Yang chakra websiteed through a Yang-aligned dojutsu. This explains his use of Yin-Yang release as well as his Yang-like expression of that chakra (compare to Naruto’s chakra cloak, being that he is both related to and a reincarnation of Hashirama, who inherited Yang). This explains why he has the Tenseigan chakra cloak, why he has Yin-Yang chakra, why he has the Tenseigan rather than the Rinne-Sharingan, and why Madara and Hagoromo got the Rinne-Sharingan rather than the Tenseigan (their Yin-Yang was websiteed through a Yin-dominant dojutsu).
