My only hope is that Mihoyo would give justice to the Traveler’s story, origin, and their Lore. They are strong despite the game’s treatment or not being part of the “Meta-defining” characters. If we do get the sword for free it would take a long time probably not even in the Sumeru Arc but somewhere in the last chapter of Snezhnaya and Khaenriah Arc (maybe when we fight Dain or become the Avatar lol) That sword Kaeya mentioned is probably Harbinger of the Dawn due to the Lore about it and not necessarily meaning that it is the Traveler’s own original weapon, but it could be plausible theory.
I’m here still waiting for the traveler to unlock his original “element”, become as strong as the other five stars and become truly “meta”. Then unlock his/her sword which gives exclusive OP buffs to the traveler so that they can finally be the main character they always were. I have used Traveler since day one and I am probably one of the few players who actually invested resources and time into the traveler (I didn’t go all the way, I didn’t crown them as I would have to use 21, or at least 18 crowns due to his multiple elements). since it was kaeya who told us about this sword, we might get a quest with him leading us to the sword. And remember when he said monsters come out when someone touches the sword? it means the other twin is safe keeping it for us, or the sword really just had that kind of power that only the owner can retrieve it.
by “god” kaeya means the sibling because the siblings were in Celestia when they got separated so the opposite siblings sword that you picked dropped from celestia and since that happened 500 years ago in teyvat the unknown god might have dropped the sword a long time after because kaeya’s grandfather wouldnt be able to live that long ago to have picked up the sword unless the unknown god dropped it a long time after 500 years ago
I think all the gnosis that the fatui are collecting isn’t for cryo archon but for the sibling instead because i think that cryo archon is working under the abyss prince/princess i.e. sibling. because it was too convenient for signora to come and take venti’s gnosis without anyone noticing.. because everyone was too focused on the chaos created by abyss order on the front gates if you remember correctly and Kaeya was the only one who pointed out that there are unwanted guests who snuck inside the city in the midst of chaos. and i think sibling is taking all the gnosis because like MC sibling is also able to control all the elements and with all the gnosis they will become one true god/archon in other terms ” the final boss “. edit : Its just a theory, A GAME THEORY. Honestly, I thought Kaeya was just bull shitting us with the creatures his father “defeated” when I first started playing. However, seeing the bosses we’ve defeated in game so far, I think they may be teasers for (future) bosses. The Hydra very well could have been Osial, the “Abyssal Dragon” may be when Durin finally wakes up, and if Mihoyo really doesn’t want to waste Signora’s design she may be recycled into a “silver haired banshee.”

If Kaeya is talking about the sword that Lumine and Aether had, then Aether and Lumine’s fight with that unknown god must have been millennials apart from the time of teyvat now. Cause there’s no way that Kaeya should mention a sword that his grandfather had preserved, knowing that time is relative, it does make a good story.
All I hope for is Pyro as main dps and Hydro as a healer. They keep giving us utility kits and there are better characters that are 4 stars… Give traveler a different role so they can flourish elsewhere, utility is highly contested by some of the strongest characters. Zhongli? Kazuha? Raiden? Traveler can’t compete, let them do something else so the niche pick can be more versatile.

Speaking of being caught off guard, the circumstance shown to us would have allowed veteran fighters ample time to react. Only if they are civilians who can’t fight can we say they were unable to react. E.g., if a ninja failed to land the first hit on a samurai, they will have much trouble winning because that is enough time for the samurai to react. On the other hand, a civilian will still be unable to react. The siblings should be considered the former, making them equal or advantageous in a 2 vs 1 situation as they both were able to get into stance and initiate their offense. To clarify, I agree that if they go with a plan, they might be able to win. But the main subtle difference is that because they did have time to recover, they could have at least put up a bit of a fight given that we can assume they were possibly stronger than Archons at the beginning of the story But ofc, story writers tend to be inconsistent in power levels, and the consistent ones are rare. So I do not disagree that the writer may have intended for them to have lost due to being caught off guard, but technically, they had recovered very well according to the cutscene. So, they could have lost, but should not have lost as helplessly as portrayed (unless the power gap is meant to be that big and the writers keep that consistent in the future).
also another one, if you collect all the oculuses that are in the game right now, you have 1 left over in each of them. i suspect we either have to go to celestia or some far off place and put all of the leftover oculuses into that statue of the seven(??) and get either our old power back or a new power is born
When i first started genshin, i thought traveler is so strong because they fought the unknown god and they still lasted. They did the mc dirty because its a gacha game where you need to shelf the starter chars and continue with the chars that they release every month that is stronger than traveler but they still relied on the traveler on their quests. I wish they buff traveler(all elements) and can use 2 to 3 elements simultaneously.

But we players had done it before: we defeated Dvalin (as a wicked abyss dragon), Osial (as a hydra) and Signora second form (as a silver-haired banshee). Plus Kaeya said his grandfather hid the sword, mean his grandfather not using it anymore. We players have The Dull Blade right there, thing we “hid” in the bag for so long. So this mean we are Kaeya’s grandfather now? Dull Blade is the sword which was dropped from Celestia? I’m confused screaming now xD
I hope they make this weapon extreemly broken asf passive but in exchange, only traveler can use the passive, so maybe like boosting crit rate and crit damage by 15% and 30%, elemental damage 20%, and if the user on field, it boost atk 7,5%, crit rate 5%, crit damage 10%, and elemental bonus by 7% every 3s, can be stack by 10
I hope that after Traveller will regain his powers he will be meta, I of course understand why he is weak now, after all money must be made and who will be pulling for meta characters if they have free OP Traveller. But It will not hurt Mihoyo if they will make Aether strong in endgame, it is just one strong free character after all
Im in shock…….the game has a story? I thought it was just a waifu game where I spend time with Keqing Mona ganyu etc in my house Jokes aside. Would like to see that sword be a nice addition for free same as how lumine and aether are free 5 stars. Hope it’s crit up that would be insane to get for anyone with a sword.
i hope they give it soon. my luck is really bad so i rely on f2p charachters and the sword may get a charachter specific boost for the traveller like the element boost weapons. i hadnt gotten my first 5 star until after 70 pulls and it was diluc not ganyu who i was pulling for. i really want cyno now i hope i get better luck.
Partially correct! In fontain, you can receive a free four star sword that bares a striking resemblance to the travelers sword by completing a world quest that’s longer than sumeru’s archon quest and after quest chain is compete you get the sword that has a special ability to swap between oshua and pneuma damage!
Here is my theory .. Both aether and lumine didnt use elements before they were stopped by unknown god in teyvat . U can see in the beginning cutscene how depending on which twin u choose uses light or should i say a kind of non elemental power .. But after their reunion the other sibling we didnt choose uses a dark coloured wave attack so we can assume they are using the 8th element aka dark ( i dont know what dark is called in latin or whatever the sequence anemo geo electro etc) And finally the twin we choose goes around every nation to collect every element. But later we in the end after we get all the elements we combine it to regain our former power but with a twist that is we can control every element without the need to touch every specific nation’s statue .. .. And there will be a button specially for the traveller to allow us to swap elements ..
It’s interesting that the three monsters that Kaeya’s grandfather slew were a Hydra (greek mythology), a Banshee (Nordic and Slavic Mythology), and an Abyss Dragon (Teyvat legend). We know that the people of Byakuyakoku/Enkanomiya used grecian nomenclature before Orobashi arrived and they changed to using Inazuman (Japanese) nomenclature. We also know that Khaenrh’ians seem to use Nordic nomenclature (Dainsleif, Rhinedottir). and we know that the Abyss is home to many monsters we have not yet seen. Very interesting how these are all connected.
i imagine that the sword could also be used as a plot device, so maybe in the next abyss twin chapter, when the traveler meets them again and uncovers more of the truth, the abyss twin gives their sword to the traveler. i imagine it is at this part of the story where the “truth of teyvat” is hard to bear, and the traveler has to seek the abyss twin again to “return the sword and deny the truth” or to “keep it and accept it by traveling to snezhnaya”. just a theory, but yeah, i hope it does become a free 5-star weapon, that would be cool!!
If Mihoyo, at the very end of the game, allows traveler to use all elements/switch between them in a final battle, I wonder how that would work. Especially for mobile players since there isn’t much room on screen. Maybe a button that when pressed, goes through the elements based on the order in which the contents were release? Anemo, Geo, etc and it rotates through them.
If and when we do get this sword it won’t be till after all elements are collected by the traveler because it probably has the abilities of the traveler to swap elements as well so if we change it will change to reflect any build but because all the element aren’t in yet they probably saving it as a last thing to better reflect how it will Operate in the end and tie the story together for the final showdown
As traveller main/support dps this make me more proud to carry him all the time in my team if they really give him the 5* waepon. But just can only hope i can get its as reward if not from banner because currently i only got 5* Aquila Favonis that made for my Jean even im not really use her as much as i use traveller.
I feel like we haven’t been getting much about the traveler but about other characters don’t get me wrong I like learning about their lore and all but I’m still confused on why the twins traveled from world to world and why the unknown god just stopped them at the gates to leave teyvat (maybe bcs they witnessed the destruction of a city that I don’t know how to spell;-; but that doesn’t explain why she stopped them when they were trying to leave in a hurry and maybe didn’t even know that it was the gods that destroyed it) I hope we can learn more about traveler in the future tbh
I Just realised that lumines sword has a moon shaped handle. Canonicly Aether is the main character so he will be smth like Sun, and lumine like moon because ussually its taken as the,,dark” one because Sun was always the,,light”. But I think its kinda funny because lumines name means light and Aethers sky in japanese as long as I remember. Idk what can mean Aethers sword handle But mayby any of you has a sugestion?
