i started as wretch to play around with a few things and ended up investing into int and my god is it weak, sorceries do no damage. You have to really pump int right from the start and even then it underperforms compared to just str or dex. Being ranged isn’t even an advantage most of the time, in open world you have horse so you can kite forever as melee or ranged, in closed boss fights they’re all super agressive and dont give you space to spam spells so you have to dodge and hit like any melee build. Hoping I either unlock respec or find a sick str/int scaling wep as I’m boosting str, even though my str is way lower than int it’s still doing like x3 the damage
Is a shield worth it? To use some of the better smaller ones you would need to reach 18 strength I think. I am not sure how the damage negation scales in this game but would a total block shield still even total block late game with low strength? If you get knocked using it you get stung because of low combat stats and just die anyways being wide open. Attempting a parry might be better with a round shield but I think you still take slight damage and can still be stung
