What is the depression spell?
Depression is a complex mental health condition that can be experienced for years before being diagnosed. It is often linked to an economic boom and a lack of connection with loved ones. In the film “Sofia”, Sophie struggles to connect with her father and Calum hides his debilitating depression. The film also features a powerful hurricane, Francine, which has weakened to tropical depression status but still poses a threat.
The character of a digital artist battling her own depression is confusing within the film’s logic. Despite these examples, depression is a common issue that many people suffer from for years before being diagnosed. The film’s logic may not accurately reflect the complexity of depression.
Why do I cry uncontrollably?
While crying is a natural and healthy response, excessive crying may indicate a number of underlying issues, including depression, grief, burnout, hormonal changes, the effects of certain medications, or neurological conditions. In many cases, these issues may not be apparent for obvious reasons.
Can depression make your mind play tricks on you?
Depression can be a challenging experience, as it can lead to negative thoughts about oneself and life. It can make you feel alone, even if you have loved ones around you. This can lead to insecurities about yourself and relationships, causing you to isolate yourself more. To counteract this, it is important to re-engage with those you want to reconnect with.
Depression can also play with your self-worth, making you feel like you deserve to be miserable. However, you are worth every effort others spend helping you get to a better place. If you’re struggling to decide whether to seek help, try pretending that your friend is going through the same thing. Being a good friend to others can be easier than being a good friend to yourself.
Finally, depression is not who you are. It can become easy to get wrapped up in your feelings and define yourself based on your symptoms. It’s crucial to fight back against these thoughts and change the phrases you say to yourself. Reminding yourself of the other parts of yourself that you offer to the world can help boost your self-esteem and restructure these thoughts.
Can you have depression spells?
Crying spells are a common symptom of depression, characterized by uncontrollable crying episodes. These episodes can occur at any time and can cause a sense of unpredictability and fear. They are caused by alterations in brain chemistry, heightened emotional sensitivity, and reactions to distressing thoughts or memories. While these episodes can feel overwhelming, they are a normal part of experiencing depression. Crying is a natural response to emotional distress, and for individuals with depression, this distress can be magnified, leading to more frequent or intense crying spells.
To manage crying spells, it is essential to remember to breathe, as rapid or shallow breathing can increase anxiety and panic. Maintaining slow, deep breaths can help calm the body’s response and reduce the intensity of the episode.
Does talking to yourself in your head make you crazy?
The act of self-talk is a typical behavior for the majority of individuals and does not necessarily indicate the presence of mental health concerns. In fact, research suggests that self-talk may potentially enhance visual search task performance.
Is it normal to cry for 2 hours straight?
Prolonged crying without reason is not normal and may indicate a serious condition requiring treatment. Dr. Jones, a fertility doctor, sees women struggling to have a child every day, taking their temperature and taking medicines. These women are often reminded that they are not a mother, as there are children and babies everywhere. There are three types of grief: acute, chronic, depression, and sentimental. Chronic grief is an ongoing reminder of something bad in one’s life.
Infertility patients are more likely to be tearful when they are reminded daily by their therapy or environment that they are struggling and not succeeding. There are ways to help deal with chronic sadness, and if it interferes with their day-to-day life, therapy, or relationship, it can be helped. By understanding and managing these types of grief, women can better manage their emotional health and cope with the challenges they face.
Is it bad to cry a lot?
Crying is a natural human response to various emotions, providing health and social benefits such as pain relief and self-soothing. However, frequent, uncontrollable crying may indicate depression. Both sexes, including humans, cry more than people may think, with women crying an average of 3. 5 times per month and men crying an average of 1. 9 times per month. It’s interesting that humans are the only animals to cry tears, and this article explores the reasons behind crying and its potential health benefits.
What was the worst form of depression?
Clinical depression, also referred to as major depression or major depressive disorder, represents a severe form of depression that is distinct from depression precipitated by bereavement or medical conditions such as thyroid disorders.
What mental illness creates false reality?
Delusional disorder is a mental health condition where a person struggles to distinguish between reality and imagined experiences. It is a psychotic disorder characterized by the presence of one or more delusions, which are unshakable beliefs in untrue things. These delusions are not part of a person’s culture or subculture and are often misinterpreted. People with delusional disorder often experience non-bizarre delusions, which involve situations that could occur in real life, such as being followed, deceived, or loved from a distance.
Can depression alter reality?
A study published in Depression and Anxiety found that people with greater depressive symptoms tend to underestimate their overall cognitive abilities and physical health. This bias is a common tendency among individuals, who often underestimate their abilities. The study suggests that depressive symptoms may reduce or eliminate this bias. Previous research has studied differences between self-perception and objective performance, known as metacognitive biases.
However, it remains unclear whether depressive symptoms relate to more general negative biases, such as broad cognitive abilities and physical health, or if these biases were present before the onset of depression or co-occurred with depressive symptoms. The study highlights the importance of understanding the relationship between depressive symptoms and subjective reality.
What is the blue spell crying?
Cyanotic breath-holding spells are the most common type, accounting for about 85 of occurrences, and are often triggered by frustration, anger, fear, or pain. They usually occur when a child is crying and becomes unable to draw a breath, turning bluish around the lips and fainting. They regain consciousness within a minute. Pallid breath-holding spells, often triggered by sudden pain or fright, turn pale, grayish, sweaty, clammy, and lose consciousness. The child’s heart rate slows, and their limbs may twitch and they may urinate on themselves.
If a child experiences a breath-holding spell for the first time, contact their primary care provider. There may be a correlation with iron-deficiency anemia, so the provider may check the blood count. It is important to rule out other more serious conditions that may mimic breath-holding spells.
A child who has passed out should be laid flat, not shaken or slapped, and their mouth should be clear. Sometimes blowing hard on the child’s face can help prevent or end an episode. Placing a cold, wet cloth on the child’s face can sometimes interrupt or shorten an episode. If the child doesn’t respond after two minutes, call 911 as it may not be a breath-holding spell.

A clinical psychologist from Imperial College describes how Magic Mushrooms (Psilocybin), when used in a therapeutic setting, …
I wonder how much these patients are given. Talk therapy is just venting to someone and kinda always seem like a waste of time. I remember having to go to court-mandated therapy for something that happened in my family during my high school years. I’ll be taking some this weekend, so it would be interesting to know how much they did and then match them to see how I feel afterward.
I’m trying to help my daughter in-law and she refuses to research anything about it 😢, it truly is a miracle drug that a tiny bit of miscible mushrooms can be life changing, I gave her a whole bag and she had not tried it yet 😭 I just want to shake her and force her to take it, but I’m just not sure how to convince her, I’m going to light some sage and pray right now, I hate seeing someone suffering with depression because I’ve been there and it’s not pretty 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✌️❤️
So what you are saying is mushrooms unlock the doorway to all those negative emotions and you are the one who faces it head on and cures yourself (you are the therapist essentially).. There is a huge amount of emphasis on yourself and your character and not all will benefit from this and in fact the opposite could happen and a slightly depressed person could turn into a hugely anxious person in a psych ward.. I think there are healthier ways to cure depression..
I dabbled a bit with them in my teens & had a mixture of incredible & horrific times. I’ve suffered with depression & anxiety and also PTSD after several seriously traumatic events both in early and later in life. A friend found an old dusty bag about 2 years back now. He asked me if I wanted them. Initially I thought ‘Not on your f***ing life’… But then I started to remember what I had regarded as ‘bad trips’. Even though initially they felt horrific, they showed me my fears, very honestly… So I said ‘Yes’ a week or two later & found a little bag on my doorstep. They were old, dried & dusty. I estimated that the whole bag would cause a trip so instead opted to just ‘dip a toe’. I wet my index finger and just took enough to cover my fingertip. I sucked my finger, spent a bit of time on the net & then slept. The next day I woke up like a 10 year old on the first day of Summer. Not only had the depression lifted but my creativity levels were through the roof. I designed a pop-up lunar module & began to build it out of steel after 10 YEARS of being like a complete comatosed zombie. My mind had not only returned, but was inventing stuff at a rate I could barely keep up with. Sadly I only had a very small quantity of the old powder which lasted only maybe 4 or 5 small doses. This was long before I was made aware of Any Kind of study, or Paul Stamets & any of his research. I’m back to being agoraphobic & bed ridden now. My mobility is poor & my mood is low. I’m taking a whole string of chemical medications that barely mask the teeth of my depression.
I went on 269 combat missions in Iraq-I came home a shell and have been suffering from depression and CPTSD. They have thrown drugs at me, counseling, group, individual etc. I use to drink it away-not productive-but it seems hopeless-never ending. Why is this ILLEGAL? Shameful. The suffering continues.
I think Depression is linked to missing out on Maslow’s hierarchy of Needs. Its not enough to have a job and be secure with food and a bed. There is more to life then that and most people don’t get that in our segregated culture we have developed in the West. Every Man for himself. Everyone has their missing parts. But for most, depression seems to be the shared outcome from whats missing.
i took shrooms maybe once a year 10 years ago, its difficult to describe to a first timer what its like to actual see vibes (emotional vibrational energy an frequency) coming off people knowing there state of mind before they even say anything, or getting the giggles (sounds cute but once you pop the fun don’t stop) or how after yr trip is over, it feels like you’ve been born again, with every minute sight sound an detail feeling like yr experiencing it for the first time ever, then i tried lucy an decided i would never do shrooms again. It was so much cleaner feeling, less body fry, no icky stomach feelings, less vibes from people an just plain old more fun, plus never got a bad trip from cid, shrooms i did once, wouldn’t say bad but it was def most intense trip i ever had
what are the effects of medications given by psychiatrist, such as Prozac, when using psychedelics? I checked cannabis use with other meds that are commonly used by patients and every one had a HUGE interaction. So, would one have to remove prescribed meds from your body prior to using psychedelics or cannabis? The sites stating this are run by big pharmaceutical companies. Attempting to prepare a law journal, peer reviewed, for attorneys as cannabis is becoming non-illegal, ditto, psychedelics.
Hi guys. Have been searching everywhere and couldn’t find crucial information on the following: micro dosing (0.3-0.5 max) of dried mushrooms (with some good/interesting experiences), but has led me to BP readings of 130-140 over 90. My everyday BP is 110 over 70. Is it normal? What would will happen taking the correct therapeutic grams with my BP? And what to do to control this rising in BP? Heart rate also does increase a bit . Could someone shed a light on this issue/concern please? Thanks in advance.
I’ve grown and consumed mushrooms on and off for the last 12 years. I take them to get high and for recreation. I’ve also suffered depression all my life and have cycled through different medications and various trippy party drugs. I don’t think psilocybin does anything to reduce depression. I don’t think anti depressant medications do much either. Best thing for depression is extended bouts of sobriety, exercise and healthy eating. Sobriety needs to be practiced in moderation too I believe, a theraputic binge/bender can help a brain get its fix and feel content and satisfied with life.
How would one go about sourcing good quality product in the UK for use as described in this article, for insights and healing? I saw someone mentioned e.g. Zamnesia discreet delivery but presume the choice would be limited. Is it necessary to take a short trip to Amsterdam? For the first time feel it would be more comfortable to have set and setting at home. Thanks.
while I believe they can be helpful for depression, I had a horribly traumatic experience on mushrooms and on acid, both times were terrifying, felt like I was on the verge of psychosis. I can see why the CIA used psychoactive drugs in their mind control experiments, they break down your thoughts and what you think is reality into almost abyss.
Mushrooms, like all psychedelics, can be a great and powerful tool… BUT THEY CAN F YOU UP TOO! Do not take any psychedelic lightly. They can help YOU make wonderful changes in your own life, but they don’t do all the work for you. PLEASE REMEMBER, to always practice proper set and setting(look it up), and ALWAYS have a trip sitter who isn’t interested in manipulating you. ALWAYS start with a low dose of whatever you take to see your personal reaction to the molecules. And always remember that hyperspace and alternate realities are EXTREMELY IMPROBABLE. Stay safe and much love!
The most powerful things are often also quite simple. It’s sad how governments cave in to big pharma by making psychedelics illegal, thus insuring that people with depression will keep taking antidepressants and benzos, often for years, which can have severe side-effects and often doesn’t really help at all. On the other hand, the drug alcohol which is detrimental for one’s own health and also causes a lot of suffering in others, is LEGAL. In Germany you have ~70.000 death related to alcohol per year vs 0 /ZERO (!!) by magic mushrooms. There are a few deaths related to magic mushrooms but only based on people confusing shrooms with other, toxic mushrooms while picking them in the wild. The ones containing psilocybin are actually impossible to overdose. Just hate how irrational things become once money is more important than people’s well-being.
i’m addicted to pregabalin, no way i can lower the dose, i’ve got PTSD, OCD, Depression, it’s not funny everyday, i tried almost every antidepressant, therapy, etc… it looks like something deep in me want to go out but i cannot have access to it. I’ll love to try mushroom but it seems like it’s not a good idea to do it alone and i have nobody to do it with me so, any idea ? thx
Good talk, but what would have made it a lot better is if this girl had dropped 5-7 grams herself instead of just perusal other people do mushrooms. She doesn’t say what the dosage was that they were using but if it was less than 5 grams (dried) it likely wasn’t enough. To get the real shamanic experience you have to go thru what is known as “ego death”. The first time you will think you are dying, but you’re not. You ARE about to find out what death really is tho, and it will change what you thought was your “life” forever 🙂
They should do sit-ups where the upper part of the abdomen is worked, with the legs raised and trying to touch the feet with the hands and its variants that work the upper part of the abdomen, they will see improvements quickly. That upper abdominal exercise will take away your depression and anxiety, it will also heal your mind…
hear in oz your a criminal if you take from nature a med .that said I’m looking forward to a 5gram dose with my mate soon.have noticed San Pedro cactus is pretty good but makes you feel a bit crook.have not had good srooms for years.but when I have a love comes back out of me that gets worn out over time .I’ve never had 5 grams but macanna said its a hero dose…I wanna be my hero..47 years old.I’m not chasing Pretty fractills to blow out on.I wanna reset what ever needs resetting.
My girlfriend was severe depression and I am wondering if this could be a good option for her but she seems apprehensive. I do wonder has anyone had the opposite result? I don’t want to trigger her self harming which happens when she gets very upset which I’d imagine could be a result of a trip if it’s taking her closer to her past trauma.
I hope those interested would look into peyote use, and all psychedelics serving shamanic tribal peoples since the dawn of time. It takes you out of being an isolated individual and you become the universe and all its beauty and all of its vastness and all of its living creatures and people live in and amongst your body and soul. The word depression becomes so foreign it no longer has any meaning. There is only forward and upwards to travel in your life, there is infinite beauty in the universe and you are it and you are nature, humans have forgotten that. Depression is when you no longer remember you are connected and you will fruitlessly chase after things that will only give you a brief satisfaction, instead of making this one moment your whole life and pursuing wherever it takes you. it is not within your understanding to know what I mean, unless you have travelled the distance yourself. what I am saying means nothing. This is only my testimonial, you will have your own experience. Just keep in mind… the mushroom will not give you what you want, it will give you what you need in that one moment.
I think mycelium is the universe on earth…it makes its way to our brain and unlocks and tears down doors there…people who have near-death experiences unanimously talked about their souls traveling at a great speed into a universe full of colors not seen on earth and a sense of overwhelming love…the universe is within the mycelium..God is awesome and He created things without a purpose! Awesome! Beautiful Creator we have! 😇😇😇😇
