To deflate a camping mattress, open the valves and let it self-deflate. Apply light pressure on the mattress by sitting to force the remaining air out, then roll the mattress towards the valve to release the remaining air. Close the valves.
To pack down your sleeping mat, identify the type of mattress valve you have and apply soapy water to the valve area and seams of the inflated air mattress. A self-inflating mattress enhances camping comfort by providing easy setup, excellent insulation, and portability. To deflate and fold the mattress into its bag, open the valve and press on it to expel as much air as possible.
A self-inflating mattress should inflate itself, but each style has different valves that work slightly differently. To ensure you inflate your mat correctly, follow these tips:
Pull the orange valve out and flip it around 180 degrees before plugging it in. The mattress is easy to inflate and deflate, and is a great accessory for use with the Double Tent Cot for an extra level of comfort.
Open the valve completely and lay it flat. Starting at the foot, slowly roll tightly and SLOWLY to give the air a chance to escape. Blow them up until they are full, then lie on it and slowly release air until it is a little squishy.
There are four plugs at the head of the bed that you unscrew to let air in, just like a Thermarest. Close 3 of 4 plugs and try blowing air.
