What are the methods of finding witches?

The “swimming test” is a bizarre method used to test the abilities of accused witches. It involves dragging accused witches to a body of water, stripping them of their undergarments, and tying them in to see if they would sink or float. The water was believed to reject their bodies, preventing them from submerging. An innocent person would sink like a stone, while a witch would bob on the surface. Victims typically had a rope tied around their waist to be pulled from the water if they sank. This method is derived from the “trial by water”, an ancient practice where suspected criminals and sorcerers were thrown into rushing rivers to allow a higher power to decide their fate.

Witches can spawn in the Overworld above opaque blocks at a light level of 0, except in mushroom fields and deep dark. Every swamp hut spawns a witch and a cat during world generation, both of which never despawn. In Java Edition, witches spawn in the 7x7x9 volume of the hut, from one level below the floor to two blocks above the roof. In Bedrock Edition, the hut has a hardcoded spawn spot. Some witches spawn as part of raids starting from wave 4 in Bedrock Edition or wave 3 or 4 in Java Edition depending on the world difficulty.

A villager can transform into a witch when lightning strikes within four blocks, but the witch does not despawn and cannot be changed back into a villager. Witches can attack the player with potions even if the player has traded with them before.

To calculate your birthday, write it in digits and add them up until you get a single digit. There are multiple ways to add numbers, some like adding the digits of the month, day, and year before adding them to one another. The double-digit number you get before reducing further is called your turning-point age, symbolizing a moment in your lifetime where things start to shift.

There is one math-related complication: if your initial calculation comes to 11, 22, 33, or 44, you can stop adding because you have a master number. This concept depends on the modality of numerology you’re practicing. To start, look at numbers one through nine.

Witches and warlocks are humans born with the natural ability to channel the energy of the earth and its natural forces, also known as magic. They have existed since the dawn of humanity and have been seen as leaders, healers, and even gods by cults. However, as humanity evolved, magic became feared and those practicing it were persecuted. Where do witches spawn the most?

Witches are a type of hostile mob that spawn in swamp huts, pillager raids, or lightning strikes. They have a higher health level than typical mobs and can regenerate their health and use potions to attack. To farm witches, kill them immediately as it can be time-consuming. Witches spawn individually at light level 0, but they are more valuable in traditional hostile mob farms. In witch huts, they are the only mobs that can spawn in small areas around a hut.

They require spawning platforms and light levels of 7 or lower. Witch huts spawn in swamp biomes, but their exclusiveness depends on the entire hut being inside a biome. Sometimes, players can have up to 4 witch huts within 128 blocks of a central point, allowing them to be active simultaneously.

  • I’m also eclectic. I love most pantheons, but I’m new and I came from a Christian household so the transition has not been the easiest. But I have always been drawn to the moon, even and especially as a child. I didn’t understand it when I was a kid. I’ve been going through a spiritual awakening since 2013 and honestly, it’s been the hardest thing for me with the mental tug of war, BUT lately I’ve really been tapping into the witchy side of myself and the strangest (and most awesome) things have been happening recently!!

  • Love the article. With me I am a draconian hedge witch. I only realised that I was a hedge witch a few years ago. I always loved nature, I love the rainforests. To me those places are the most peaceful and relaxing places. I love everything about rainforests. Love the trees, love the animals, love the energy and love the rain. Ever since childhood I absolutely loved dragons. Dragons are my favourite mythological animals. Now I work a lot with dragon energy for both protection and prosperity magic. I grew up in a spiritualist family. They weren’t witches. My mum was very scared of witches. She strongly believed in them and that is why she feared them. As a result as a child I wasn’t aloud to have tarot or Oracle cards and I certainly couldn’t have a witchcraft book. It’s bad juju she would say. But dealing with ghosts and spirits was a daily thing for us. But as I grew older my abilities grew and grew. It came to a point that I had difficulty controlling it and no one wanted to help. Until I reached out to the witchcraft community. They were willing to help me control my abilities without freaking everyone out or becoming sick. I was fortunate that when I came out and told my mum that I was a witch she accepted it. If witchcraft can help me control my abilities and help me physically then it’s fine with her. With beliefs it chose me, not me choosing it. If I had chosen it, I would have went straight to the Greek pantheon. I look forward to seeing more articles from you.

  • I still feel like a “baby-witch” due to the fact I constantly feel like I’m not practicing enough… Life has just gotten in my way (moved across country at the end of last year). But I have always been drawn to crystals and herbs/nature based magic. And talking about the child aspect had this weirdly vivid memory of me “making potions” in my grandma’s backyard with just dirt and other natural things on the ground. I would also love to gather quartz outside and pretend like I was getting rich off this white/clear quarts I was finding. I don’t know. Thinking of that stuff just made me feel good… So I hope I can work more with those. I’ve longed for a garden or sorts and one day I hope to be able to cultivate one and get better at practicing more regularly and learning more and more. I also developed a love and fascination with Hindu religion and find myself feeling very close to Ganesh. Not sure if anything in my childhood links this feeling though… This is basically just cathartic to be able to write down and post. Makes me realize I’m not as behind in my craft as I’d thought.

  • Have you ever dealt with a haunting? I’m dealing with some really freaky and bizarre energy in my house at the moment, and I had a really disturbing dream last night (it felt different than most nightmares as well). I made a bind rune, and it’s helped a little, but the energy is still there. Do you have any advice on what I should do?

  • I love learning about pretty much everything; a variety of cultures, spirits, aliens, and creatures. I grew up a nonbeliever, not exposed in depth to any spirituality or religion, save for school topics. No memories of previous life and currently no psychic abilities. Only found out about the good possibility of an afterlife/spirits existing in the last couple of years, which made me both immensely fascinated and suspicious about those other worlds. I’m mostly sacred at the thought of our souls having to endure hundreds of births and deaths and being stuck reincarnating forever. My childhood was a blur; within my autistic anxious mind, I remember being obsessed with playing with toy dogs, swimming, enjoying number meanings like the number 2, and sometimes admiring crystals and seashells. Learned about myths, Wicca and other cultures in college just for fun. In my adulthood, I write spirituality stories and teach children and care for my pets, always fighting my anxiety and fear of loss. I have no clue what kind of spirits have been perusal me or if they even care about me/exist. Thank you for helping people find their paths and introducing spirituality to the world…our world needs more healing and connection to the divine.

  • In my journey, my path has changed. I have evolved. I went through many paths and now at 50 I find a place of peace with where I am at however, I am on the true accension path and hence working the Qlippoth. It’s not easy but getting back to source or Thamiel is everything. It is coming back to one as we all are. Crossing the abyss isn’t easy and I will making my crossing soon. Blessings to everyone and may each one reading this find their true will.

  • Man my story with spirituality began on my childhood. I remember when I talk to the moon, collect crystals and shells. I’m still obsessed with lions and cats, I really love them and the beach (and I prefer sand than earth), dragons, mermaids, witches, cards, art, animal documentaries… My family tried to put me in Christianity, but I hate it, I hate churches, it makes me feel sad and uncomfortable, some type of anguish (in two times i na tarot reading I discovered I was a witch in my past live and died in the inquisition). I always feel some connection with Egypt and their gods, but for some time I tried to connect with nature and then the greek patheon, but failed. I tried other religions but I dont like, it’s too dogmatic. I find my way with hermetic and kemetic witchcraft.

  • I’m more of a scientific person but I do realize there are spiritual aspects of life. When I was a kid I wanted to grow up to be like Obi-wan Kenobi or Yoda. I believe in Live and let live. Most of my childhood friends have moved away now and I don’t have many friends to begin with. I just want to find out what life is all about. I’ve been an existentialist most of my adult life I’m only 32 now. I have depression and autism. I love to write and read and draw. I just don’t know what to do. I’ve been getting past toys that I used to have as a kid lately. I like knowledge and knowing how stuff works. I just never have been a spiritual person to begin with. I’m just confused.

  • Hey there! I’m a new follower of yours for a little under a month so I’m slowly binging your articles. You speak about looking to your childhood about what we liked and found interest in, and for years I was enamored with dragons ( and even wanted to be one lol ). I’d draw them, make up stories, characters, collect books, statues.. all of that. I don’t know any sort of spirituality that involves dragons or know too much about them on the spiritual side ( if there is one ). Do you know anything ? Thanks so much! Much love to you.

  • what are you talking about hedge witches and green witches have almost nothing to do with eachother. hedge witch craft is about boundries. most often the boundries between the world of the living and the spirit world. the pirit work you see their is mostly ancestor work green witch craft is about plant magic and plant spirit. hearth witch craft tends to incoperate allot of green witch craft because cooking is major part of hearth witch craft and also some people like having plants in their houses.

  • Listening to your articles l felt asleep, then l dream of l had gone to another word,A very dark world Of beautiful Young Five handsome mam wow,l one them l admired him .They were Wolf man,l drowned in another world Five orangers brother,May be its looks crazy but it was real .And after l wake of my dream l feel very sad l want to go there again .Its was a word of magics light, dark very mysterous world 😂😂😊❤❤❤❤❤❤

  • Oh I loved listening to your thoughts. 🙂 I think most of us at one point (often early when searching for our path) fall into the trap of wanting something fast and easy. Instead of searching for what is right it’s simple to just enter an already finished belief system. But probably it only feels right/good for a short time, then we realize it’s time to move on and truly search within instead of without, so to speak… And those candles look so beautiful!

  • First I really want to say how much I appreciate your perspective on this subject, if I’m not mistaken I guess Im getting is that a witch’s faith should serve them not that they should serve a specific faith. This is certainly what attracted and has continued to attract me to ‘the craft ‘. Also I think it’s worth mentioning that witchcraft and paganism aren’t necessarily synonymous. I, like many, was first exposed to Wicca due to accessibility. I never felt a strong connection with the faith I was brought up in ( in fairness I was brought up Episcopalian, no one feels a strong connection 🤫) it wasn’t until much later, exploring more systems I realized much of the magic practiced over history was rooted, at least in part, within some kind of Abrahamic framework. That’s not especially important for me but I’m sure it would be for some . As you’ve done a much better job of expressing there’s literally something for everyone.anyway I love your website, your insight and your incredibly soothing voice. Hope to see more content in the future!

  • earlier today i walked near a man and his son happily talking and laughing together, and within the sound of their voices and laughter were powerful emotions, sensations, and all kinds of colors, that were flowing and bouncing all over the place. it was wonderful, and i am so happy for them. this is part of my daily life, and i love it.
