The other day it started sprinkling as I stood looking out of my kitchen window and I prayed to God for a thunder storm after I thanked him for being in my life and not more than 20 seconds later the big pine tree out front of my window got hit by lightning. I was so excited and felt like God gave me a hug. I didn’t mean it for a sign I just love thunder n lightning and it had been so hot lately.

Amen! I was saved by Jesus from witchcraft and idolatry. I used to pray to almost anything for health,protection,money,love etc but when i came to Jesus i repented from all and i ask God to change me and used and if there was a possibility to help me undo all my idolatry prayers and guessssss what today i am reading my bible and all the things that i once prayed for to idols God is having me pray them again but to him. Then i ask Him to bless the unsaved, and next the soul winners… then all Christians.. then i go on to the people in my life who have certain needs. I’ve done some of these prayers and I would say that when things didn’t go my way I got mad at God at Jesus, the one who gave me these things now they aren’t all bad but they can become bad things. I will clarify everything that is bad is of this world but has a form in heaven so it comes all down not to mental perception, or perspective but more spiritual, and not hiding or twisting the wrongs but simply asking that they may be fixed back to how God, had entended them. I know that we can all struggle with praying something maybe we didn’t even know that was wrong, and I’m just glad Jesus is a forgiving, merciful, gracias God. I would say I have been a Christian for a while now and had learned about a lot and since, I was a child I was always brought up to know right from wrong, but sadly that won’t cover my relationship with God. Something God opened up to me was that I do not need to worry or overthink anything because they will become a obsession. I used to do this in all aspects of my life without knowing it and it went right back to what you said about praying with manipulative intentions, and using repetitive formulaic prayers, seeking signs instead of trusting God’s word and probably the one I still struggle with and have been working on would be praying for everything I want like material weath or even spiritual weath, but putting all the things God gives me even the Joy, peace, love, inthusiaam, skills, even wisdom from God, Knowledge, intelligence, possibly wanting a longer life before God now all of these things are good but using good for bad doesn’t make you truly feel fulfilled or grateful.
Sometimes when I pray, I say it like I have to be polite, exact, almost clinical when I pray. Its so refreshing to realise that this is not what God wants, but rather to know me as I would speak when I feel something weighing on my heart. From now on, I will pray in a way that is truth to who I am, where I am at in my life, and with my God who wants a relationship with me, not just someone praying. It’s important to base what we practice on what is written in scriptural truths. Jesus never tried to convince Satan in the desert. A woman my spouse used to date and hated me always tried to show up to all the events of the family during a funeral she kept going and going everyday mind you she was only dating my spouse for about 4 months. I once cursed a demon that was oppressing me. Immediately I felt my spirit wounded in a way I knew it would never heal. Cursing is very evil. Even Michael did not curse Satan but rebuked him (Jude 1:9) They may have chosen to rebel against God but the demons were God’s children before they rebelled. Perhaps this will help someone. Please do not curse even the devil. It is something you will never recover from in your spirit, a darkness you will always carry with you afterward. My family and my children grew up in church all their lives. My middle daughter has gotten into yoga and crystals and she thinks since God made them there is nothing wrong with them. I have paryed over her for years for God to show her what she’s into is wrong. I’ve sent her articles and she won’t watch them and she says I’m crazy for thinking yoga is wrong. She does these ceremonies with crystals and I know it’s witchcraft and I’m so scared for her. I’ve fasted and prayed for her that she would see how wrong this is. Today was a day full of gossip and slander again. I started allowing my flesh to experience anger unintentionally and used a curse word against someone, and now feel like blessing them and repenting, even if that means there is future slander and gossip! I’m a Veteran and have been struggling with mental health and ptsd issues for the last 15 years. Ive tried many times but it’s so hard for me to hold a job down. Recently I’ve started praying to be approved for military disability and I told God I would volunteer my time at a Christian drug and alcohol rehab center. I swear I don’t want riches or fame, I just don’t want to be a burden on society. I don’t need anything but Jesus and I don’t know if my prayers for this disability are wrong. I’m so conflicted and any help would much appreciated. I will continue to pray about it

I’ve no disrespect or disdain for anyone, any religious belief, but I am astounded in today’s age where there is easy access to read the bible and easier access to learn about the bible through mediums such as this article, that people don’t realize the idolatry of praying to saints, angels & Mary, yet we still have this massive group perpetuating this idolatry. I am grateful to my forefathers, some who were enslaved because they held protestant beliefs. The best thing to happen to me was to nearly be destroyed by nerve pain & subsequent poverty. Because of the pain, everyone left me & because of the nerve dysfunction my communication with The Most High & Jesus that I had always felt & heard was dark, but through all of this, Our Father brought me through, Jesus still dwelt in my heart and my prayer is stronger, more conversational & I became closer and more faithful. I wish others knew how easy it is to talk to Our Father & Jesus, that it doesn’t have to be a formula or specific monologue & that our words are very, very powerful
