How To Properly Inflate A Firestone Ride?

Before starting, ensure that your air bags have the minimum air pressure of 5 lbs. and inflate them to ensure your truck or SUV is level and your headlights are at the correct angle. Check your truck from the rear and ensure you are level from side-to-side. Inflate or deflate your air bags until you have the desired height.

Inflate the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs – Rear Kit (F2286) using an air compressor, such as the Firestone Level Command II – Single-Gauge with Standard-Duty. The kit is rated at a maximum inflation pressure of 100 P.S.I., but this may allow you to carry too much load on some vehicles. When inflating the air springs, add air pressure in small quantities and check pressure frequently.

There must be a minimum of 1/2″ clearance around all installed components when the air springs are inflated and under a load. The air bags in the Firestone Ride-Rite systems can be inflated to a minimum of 5 psi and a maximum of 100 psi, depending on the weight of the load, type of vehicle, and driver’s side. To install the right side assembly, follow the same procedures as before.

When inflating the air springs, add air pressure in small quantities and check pressure frequently during inflation. Always use a bicycle pump, which is always included with the kit. For Sport-Rite kits, air helper springs must be aired up to 50 psi and then released the air until the springs are to the desired pressure.

Install the air springs using a soap and water mixture. Inflate the air bags quickly and check air pressure while inflating.
