This video tutorial teaches how to restring a Rubik’s Magic puzzle by rotating the cube in two directions. The process takes about an hour and may involve using a fishing line, scissors, and tap. To make a string for the puzzle, you will need a piece of fishing line, scissors, and tap.
To fix a broken Rubik’s Magic puzzle, follow these steps:
Hold the Rubik’s Cube with the green side on top, white side on the right, and red side facing you. Scramble it by rotating the right side down once and the whole cube once to the left. Repeat these steps six times.
Make a string for your Rubik’s Magic using a single, continuous strand of fishing wire. Shift the cycle by one tile, starting with tiles 2-4 using stringing C, then 3-5 using D, 4-6 using C, and so on.
Solve the 2×6 Rubik’s Magic Master Edition, a variation of the classic Rubik’s Cube with more shapes and possibilities. Find three different solutions and use shape changing transforms to unlink the rings.
If a string gets snarled up in one place, cut one string in a groove with two strings and remove it. Fold Magic in half, placing the ribbon inside the string, and sliding it off.

- Fold tiles 4 and 5 leftwards onto tiles 3 and 6. Use a gift twine or ribbon to pull and guide the strings. Start removing strings by pulling a piece of ribbon twine under both strands of nylon. Perform stringing A on the first three tiles and twist the last tile to secure the string without strectching.
