What was the twist in Mystic River?

Silent Ray is the mute brother of Brendan, who used to date Katie and had plans to run away with her to Los Angeles. Brendan suspects Silent Ray and his friend O’Shea, brutally beating them until O’Shea points a gun at his head. Jimmy spends the movie trying to find a motive for his daughter’s murder, but ultimately, there is no motivation.

The police arrive just in time to learn the two teenage boys accidentally fired Harris’s gun, chased after Katie, and killed her. The twist is anticlimactic, but it fits with the Mystic River scenario, which revolves around motivations.

  • II went to Cherokee Casino in North Carolina Yesterday and just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!!. I was with my mother to celebrate her 89th Birthday. She loves slots and normally sits for hours on the Wheel of Fortune Game. Of course she rarely hits any good payoffs. I told her your recommendation of the one line play Triple Stars. She as with me never even play the one line games as we always felt the chance of winning was rare. We were so wrong. Within spinning my first 10 spins of $2.00 per spin, max bet two coins, I hit with Triple on left reel, white seven on center reel and triple star on right wheel allowing a win of $529.00. My mother was perusal and grabbed the same machine next to me. She played approx. 10 minutes and hit a win for $1,440.00. It was a great birthday gift for her. Thanks again

  • I used your build up method on a 25cent, 5 max credit machine. Took 100$ and turned it into $200. I then went and played $5 classic top dollar for 2 credits. In 10 min I hit 3 top dollars for $225, $225 and $375. I then went and played $10 double top dollar but I didn’t notice I needed to play 2 credits to hit the top dollar! Luckily I hit a Double Bar, Double Diamond, Double Diamond! $1000 line hit! My highest hit yet. Thanks!!

  • Put $40 in an old school Triple Double 7s dollar 5 line. Bet all lines at $5 per spin. At $32 balance I hit triple triple seven for $700. I was at Cache Creek in Brooks. I never would have played this type of slot if I hadn’t watched your website. THANK YOU for being so level-headed, well spoken & honest. I truly appreciate you. You are a rare breed.

  • I went to my Local Casino tonight, got to a point where I was playing $5 2 credit Double Diamond, put $300 in Lost it all down to 4$ went back to $0.25 Tripple Star 3 credit bet to see if the Girlfriend had any promo play on her card, she didn’t but I said well, while I’m here may as well Play this $4 down, 2nd spin I hit Tripple Tripple red 7 and got my $300 back hahaha

  • Put $50 in the lowest volatility .25 cent machine available at my casino versus trying my favorite 9 line quarter machine with all the bells and whistles that’s I’ve gotten addicted to, hit $200 within in minutes!!! Also hit $700 last night on a simple Top Dollar $1 machine max bet of two!!! Most winning I’ve ever done thanks guys!

  • I went to my favorite casino yesterday and focussed on Triple Stars.. Didn’t do so well on the $1 machines. Moved up to the $5 machines and hit two blue 7 triple triple hand pays in a little over 10 minutes. Moved up to the $10 machines and once again hit two more hand pay combos in very short order. Tried the $10 Top Dollar and hit double diamond double diamond triple bar. All in all i hit six hand pays in less than three hours. Never happened before. last night was the luckiest night of my life. Won over $14k. Played $3K to win $14 so my net win was $11K. I credit Cowboy slots for my luck last night.

  • This was perhaps one of your best articles. Not only listing your top five games, but also informing us that the manufacturers websites listed the volatility of their games. That in combination with the past information you provide has corrected many of my past mistakes and hopefully will result in my first ever hand pay jackpot…. Signed by “Forever making donations to the Cherokee Indians”.

  • Love Double Diamond and the old Blazing Sevens. Back in the 90’s I hit the Double Double for 2800 on a progressive bank of 8 machines in Reno after hitting a Royal Flush a 100 feet away for 4000 on a dollar machine. Later in the week I hit the Doubles in Laughlin for about 3000 on another eight machine local progressive.

  • My husband and I tried out your $100 challenge for fun and managed to clear past the first round of the 25c turning the $100 into $312 but couldn’t find any great $1 options open at the Indian casino we were at. Put $100 into a $1 Triple Stars but no luck on that but still went home up $112. I was content since I rarely bother with casinos outside of Vegas and tbh didn’t think we’d make it past the first round anyways. But it is fun for a day trip to have a goal-orientated activity. Normally in Vegas we’d play way more than $100.

  • Wow! I just started doing research and found your website! Now this All makes sense on why I have never hit anything over $500 and I play a lot!! Now I am educated and can’t wait to go try your suggestions!! This information is priceless and makes perfect sense after perusal this article!! Thank you!!

  • My dearly departed mom used to love Double Diamond 25 cent machines. She could play on a roll of quarters, 1 coin bets for hours! Usually, she could take home a small profit, unless pop’s went broke, and came to bum some of her money won haha. She got tired of that, and pretty much just quit going to a casino.

  • I always loved the double diamond. Used to play a lot in 1999 and 2000. Probably hit 3 doubles at least 5 times. Played at Fitzgerald’s in Reno. Had 26K taxable. For that year I could not lose. I once played one for 8 hours straight. I put in $100 and took $100 out. Could barely walk. Lots of free Bacardi. Best slots were always by the check in desk.

  • New sub from Florida. I was going to the Hard Rock for years. Never won a big jackpot but did win $1,500 once. What are your thoughts on the Orchid game? I love it but never won much. Being new here, I need to start your articles from the beginning. After that, I might go back and give it a try. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us. 😊🙏🏼

  • I am starting to sound like you pay me with my comments, but man, on your suggestion I went into the Hi Limit room at my casino, and tried the Mustang 2 game I mistakenly hit the button and bet 60. I changed it to 20 on my next bet and hit a 2,400. payout first time playing the machine… I never would have even ventured into the hi limit room before your vids! Thank you !

  • Hey, Cowboy! I never disregard a word of your advice. You are a Godsend to those of us who don’t have a ton of disposable money—EVERYTHING YOU ADVISE HAS OFTEN BROUGHT ME THE REWARD OF WINNING SIGNIFICANTLY. THAT SAID, I have, however, been in love with the the 2-5-10 bonus machines. I wonder, if one plays max bets in denominations of $10, $25 or $100 per spin in “high stakes” areas, it might pay out more often?❤️your site, narration and integrity!!!👏🏼👌🏻👍🏻😘Linda, CT

  • I enjoyed your articles. What location do you refer? I will assume Vegas casinos. I go to N.H. and Encore Boston. The machines are typically cold and there are few jackpots. On a weekend, casino-wide, there might be 1-2 with a couple of hours. We all swear the jackpots are switched off and just the bars pay.

  • @cowboyslot thanks for the tips! Planning on playing all of #1 – #5 recommended slots in order along with your other tips of playing with 100x bet. Anytime I’m up 10%, I’ll set a stop loss limit and new stop loses if keep winning. On Double Diamond NEW cabinet which takes 3 credits, do they play the same as the 2 credit version? Thanks in advance.

  • Great tip!! However, all of these slots depend on your luck/timing as I’ve played thousands of spins on the high limit ($5/$10) Double Diamonds and ($5) Blazing 7s but never hit a jackpot. I only hit the top symbol on Blazing 7s once when getting rid of my $20 rewards into $10 slot play on last day of stay on a quarter denom (which I never play) and won $250. 😂That was my lucky week since 1 of the days, I went downstairs to casino to pickup some food and after ordering and waiting for food, decided to put in $100 into 7s respin and won a $1,200 jackpot.

  • I never play slots. Ever. I finished a poker game up a hundred and change and decided to play the change on the slots. I had watched your article the day before on a fluke “came up on my stream”. I could only find a Flaming 7 Lucky Star machine, that looked familiar to the really shallow attention I paid to this article. I put $20 in and won $131.00. Cashed out, put the ticket in my wallet and put another $40 in, cashing for $140.00. My friend could not believe it. I cashed in, took $200 large, and followed my friend to some CRAZY GAME. He said, “come on, we’re going on a Road Trip”. CRAZY GAME. Left with my 2 large, and blew the loose on Road Trip. Peer pressure!

  • Great articles. I remember you saying in earlier articles that as long as the machine was paying you it was trying to rebalance. So last night while I was playing at our local casino which is terrible games most all are progressive but I looked for the most simple game I could find as you have talked about and the machine kept paying me and paying me and not getting down close to zero I kept moving up so I kept playing and finally hit the mega jackpot and went home with $800 thank you so much

  • So I found a slot machine at a casino near me and I roughly around the same time with the same bed. I am always winning a decent amount between $500-$800 in the past three weeks. I’ve gone eight times and have hit every time does this mean this is a high payout machine? Or something wrong? After the first two times I knew something was odd so I keep going back and I’m going back again Monday.

  • Interesting article, am saddened so many casinos are removing these machines. Told Don Laughlin years ago, when your classic slot machines are gone so am I. Just there 2 weeks ago, played the 2nd generation Blazing 7s, and my friendly host in high roller room informed me it was being taken out next. 5th spin won the Blazing 7s, was happy. As playing it a month before and also winning the blazing 7s. Konami was in there removing some of the earlier penny machines that were always packed with waiting players. Many were the must win by machines and the mystery bonus amounts, showing on the machines. So sad.

  • WOW!!!! Awesome article. thank you so much. now to find those top 5 machines in Las Vegas on the strip. I am in NC near Cherokee Casino. They have pinball and top dollar in the Hi Limits room. Those are hot machines. At Mardi Gras casino in Charleston WV they have the Rock around the clock (Must hit by $500)slot near the front. Good to know! Thanks for sharing. Keep the article s coming!! Your a ONE OF A KIND slot website. Great stuff!!!

  • You should definitely do more of these as topics for future vids. Especially since the full on digital ones are pretty much the games that most people are playing now (Dancing Drums, Buffalo etc.) Take some quick snaps of the empty machines, then you can give a any knowledge you have about the machine. Anything from how to either play it better, when to walk away, how to select the best denomination to credit ratio so as to achieve max wins/bonuses or even why it should be avoided at all costs etc.

  • great info thx im heading vegas in 2 weeks so im sure i will enforce all you have taught me,i was in vegas last march and found myself looking for the right slots to play and do all your tips like walking casino, looking at payouts, selecting right games like single line DD,i did find one and i must of put 500 coin in at least and came away with a level session betting one dollar a spin.i know for a fact the reason i received best offers from mgm for my trip in 2 weeks was the coin in i did using your teachings. i came home up $39 for my trip best i have ever done in vegas but best of all i have 8 free nites no resort fees to look forward to in 2 weeks time,i also received resort credit and gambling credit. im sure their algorithm said get this guy back he should of lost lolol

  • Hello Cowboy. New subscriber thanks to YouTube putting up one of your articles randomly. Maybe you already have a article for this. Towards the end of the calendar year I sometimes need lots of points for tier status. Which machines do you recommend for lots of points even if there’s little to no wins or losses overall? Thanks!

  • Ww only have corner slots. We dont have any if these games. For corner slot places which machines are best. Most are the old ones they get about 2 new ones in about 3 months.. like we have dublin sparticus rocky wildlife shadow just to name a few. My biggest hit us always on wildlife max bet are max bet is only 4

  • Cowboy, I get invited to slot tournaments often at the major hotels in Vegas. Once, I sat down beside a 80-year-old woman, and for every 10 spins I would make she would make 1. Her points skyrocketed past me. After that tourney, I become convinced that those 50-200 people tournaments in the slot tourney areas winners are pre-determined, if they were NOT they would not have designated reserved seating. Agree?

  • Double Diamond has always been my favorite with DD Haywire next the problem is my local casinos here are getting rid of them and are replacing them with game themed slots. When I’m in Vegas I’ll spend a lot of time playing Double Diamond. What do the casinos gain by phasing out the old favorites besides money.

  • The day my daughter turned street legalbeing the good Dad that I try to be,we traveled from Lincoln,Ne.,to Iowa to gamble. We sat down @ a Double Diamond $1/3 max bet,& began teaching her the ins & outs. Not listening, she spun off the $3 dollar bet.She hit triple Double Diamond.I stopped teaching & said,”Just like that”.Ya see,my kiddo is a fast learner.

  • My first, and only (so far) hand pay at my new local Hard Rock came from a Blazing Sevens, so that’s a good call as far as I am concerned! I will say that my luck on Pinball has not been very good at all, which seems odd since you are such a huge fan. I’ll typically start with 100 credits (for example), bleed down to 30-something, hit a pinball for 50 or so which puts me just shy of where I started, then rinse and repeat, losing ground each time until I lose it all. The bonus wins just don’t seem to be big enough or happen often enough to cover the number of rolls it takes to get one of those bonuses. I am playing at max credits so that the bonus grants 5 balls, but they all seem to hit 10s and 15s.

  • I was reading about payback percentages of slot machines and got to thinking, what does that actually mean. My state law says 87% over the life of the machine, but what does that mean in terms of time and play? Also, do you know the standard deviation of when the slot machine will want start balancing itself?

  • I haven’t heard you address this one: When a machine has a match three feature for a bonus are they rigged to only hit a mini? Seems every time I’ve watched someone get that feature, they always end up with a mini…even when they start their picks and have two major or grands they end up on the final three picks with all minis.

  • Do slots in Indian casinos work on the same randomness concept as those in Nevada? When slots were first introduced in WA Indian Casinos, they were presented as just being the electronic representation of a roll of scratch tickets, where the payout sequence was predetermined. Am curious if this is still true or applies to Indian casinos in general. Thanks.

  • I tried an old school double diamond slot at our indian casino.. put in $100 on 50 cent denom and bet max ($1) then went through $100 in about 15 minutes with no payback over $5.. then I went to a different local Indian casino and tried on 2 more double diamonds and the same exact thing happened.. infuriating.. Also, their jackpots were only 800x the denom AND you could only qualify for this jackpot betting 2 coins which made it only 400x your bet in winnings.. horrible edit: I did have decent luck (got some decent hits) on blazing 7’s and double triple diamond ( I think) where the arrows move the symbol up or down. So they weren’t all duds like the double diamond slots.

  • @Cowboy Slots… We live in Washington State where all we have are tribal casinos. None of the 4 we frequently visited carry any of the top 5 games you mention. However…they do have ALMOST ALL of the games you talk about in your “Worst games to play” articles. My wife and I prefer the more old school games like the Triple Fortune Dragon, 5 Dragons,Timberwolf, and Buffalo (all in the original versions) games and “Twice Your Monkey” and other similar old style 5 reel games. On occasion we will play American Originals, but we need to be having a really bad day for that one. Now…you say these are high volatility games but when you compare them to all of the themed games in the tribal casinos around here they seem like the lesser of two evils. Am I right or wrong??

  • I was waiting in line to cash in my coins at the Frontier in Vegas years and years ago and there happen to be a dollar Blazing 7’s machine next to me while I was waiting. I casually put in a dollar and spun basically out of boredom while in line. It hit the blazing 7’s and I was super excited. But nothing happened, no bells, no lights, nothing. I was thinking machine malfunction until the lady in front of me pointed up and said this doesn’t pay out on the first coin. I can’t tell you how crushed I was.

  • Hey cowboy something is wrong with me in general lol I can’t hit a hand pay for the life of me never have. Why can’t I get lucky like other people I play the machines you say to play and I love them I play Max bet and only get line hits never anything good that’s for sure but yet everybody around me are winning hand pays. Cowboy please please help me I just wanna get one big head pay I do play the dollar machines and sometimes the five dollar machine but that’s as far as it goes. Thank you handsome cowboy for the great information please please send me some good luck! 💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰

  • this is not a trick question but I came to the person that might answer these questions Here goes I go to a small not yet on the map hardly casino they have a triple doubles stars 25 cent denom 3 reels betting 5 lines !!! now for the trick part a & b on the payout it list at top 10,000 I told my wife it was 10,000 she does not believe me !!!!! imagine that what would i have to bet to win it ( max bet ) I bet 5 t0 10 credits now It is 10’000 dollars right ?

  • I did exactly what you said here in Chicago and lost it all. I lost $100 then my husband tried your method and he lost $100 at Rivers Casinos. So we both tried and lost $200. So maybe your method works in Las Vegas, but it does not work here in Chicago. I have actually tired this method multiply times, but thought it just me. It was not. I have playing at the Rivers Casinos for years and I just can’t win. I have tired the method many times and I can not win

  • Top Dollar on the 4 offers shouldn’t they be ‘random’. If so why are 90% of offers 40 credits or less when the machine displays many higher possible denominations? The proof is on the over 400 articles on YT showing offers 40 credits or less 90% of time.i ‘ve only ever seen it offer 1000 credits ‘once’. If it is Rng why are offers 15/25/30/20 rather than 10/40/100/1000?

  • Any reel game with 7’s in them are a complete waste of time. The payouts are small, you have a lot of dead spins. You could get a double double bar and you get like 100 bucks betting 10 dollar rolls. You lose almost all before you win. I like to count my spins so if i dont win anything major before 40 spins I’m done. I gamble at least 4-5 times a month. I own a double diamond game at home.

  • These 5 are all one line payout games and there is nothing more boring than playing one line payout games. If one is going to lose anyway, at least play a game that provides more excitement …like 9 payout lines. Understood that the graphic articles games with up to 50 or so symbols ( like Cleopatra) are probably the worst payback games. I just prefer the 9 lines payout games with 45 cents per spin and take my $40 loss in couple of hours. It’s not like someone will actually profit in any slot games anyway, so ….why not add a bit more excitements.
