In What Way Is The Tarot Card Reading Serious?

Tarot readings offer advice for moving forward, but the accuracy of these readings can be influenced by the reader’s intentions. Before a reading, it is important to center yourself and clarify specific areas of life or questions you want guidance on. The accuracy of a Tarot reading is nuanced, as it does not predict the future with absolute precision.

Several factors can affect the accuracy of a Tarot reading, including experience, knowledge of the cards, and the number of cards drawn at random. Experience and knowledge of the cards make a difference in the accuracy of a Tarot reading. If you practice regularly, you can quickly and intuitively read your own Tarot cards in just seven simple steps.

However, there are “bad” cards in the Tarot, such as “Death”, “The Tower”, and “The Devil”, that can scare people. It is crucial to avoid becoming psychologically addicted to pulling cards for every question, as the advice and answer come from your first reading. Tarot cards can also give false hope, as they can sometimes make things worse in the wrong hands.

In conclusion, tarot readings are a form of cartomancy where practitioners use tarot cards to gain insight into the past, present, or future. However, it is essential to be cautious when using tarot cards and to be aware of the potential risks associated with them. It is essential to take the readings seriously and not take them too seriously, as they can provide valuable insights into one’s life and future.

How true is the Tarot card reading?

Early French occultists claimed that tarot cards had esoteric links to ancient Egypt, the Kabbalah, Indic Tantra, or the I Ching. However, scholarly research reveals that tarot cards were invented in Italy in the early 15th century for playing games, and there is no evidence of significant use of them for divination until the late 18th century. The belief in the divinatory meaning of the cards is closely associated with a belief in their occult properties, which was propagated by prominent Protestant Christian clerics and Freemasons.

From its uptake as an instrument of divination in 18th-century France, the tarot went on to be used in hermeneutic, magical, mystical, semiotic, and psychological practices. It was used by Romani people when telling fortunes and as a Jungian psychological apparatus for tapping into “absolute knowledge in the unconscious”, a tool for archetypal analysis, and even a tool for facilitating the Jungian process of individuation.

Do tarot cards predict the future?

Tarot can help make big decisions, but it cannot predict the future. Michelle Tea suggests beginners start with a three-card reading from the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck. Growing up, her family often relied on tarot for tough decisions, such as discussing a brother’s breakup or deciding whether to drop out of school. The deck’s iconic Rider-Waite-Smith cards can be used to guide readers through these situations.

Should you do tarot reading?

Tarot readings are best done when you are clearheaded and seeking to connect with your intuition. The cards help you understand what’s hidden in your mind and can provide insight into your unconscious thoughts. Tarot cards work by analyzing the pneumatic tubes in your brain. There are several reasons to get a tarot card reading, including the desire to read, create art projects, journal, or carry one around if it resonates with you. However, the cards can also be used for various purposes, such as cutting them up for art projects, gluing them into journals, or carrying one around if it resonates with you.

Is it safe to read tarot cards?

Tarot cards, like other metaphysical tools, are as safe or dangerous as the messages they deliver. They provide clues into the subconscious and are not harmful themselves. The Tarot is often linked to witchcraft, as many practicing witches use it. However, not all witches use the Tarot. The Tarot is a divination tool used by witches to derive more symbolism and understanding for specific questions. Witchcraft and Tarot can co-exist separately, and reading Tarot does not necessarily mean practicing witchcraft. Both practices involve active engagement with intuition.

Is it OK to read Tarot to yourself?

Making predictions for yourself in Tarot reading is not always the best approach, as it can be challenging due to the fluctuating details and timing of the cards. Being too involved and having expectations can negatively impact the results. The energy of the reader is crucial, and it influences the cards drawn. The best results are achieved when asking short-term questions, such as the same day or week, or long-term questions, which can be difficult to predict due to the fluctuating nature of the details and timing. Therefore, it is recommended to consult a professional for accurate predictions.

Do tarot cards really work?

Tarot readings can be an empowering and insightful tool for self-discovery and future direction. A professional tarot reader can help you understand your goals and desires, providing insight into your situation and guiding you towards the best actions for your love life, career, or other questions. They can also reveal the motivations of others and predict potential outcomes of decisions. A good tarot reading can provide clarity and help heal anxiety.

However, it is crucial to prepare thoroughly for your first reading to fully benefit from the experience. A good tarot reading can provide valuable insights into your future and help you make informed decisions.

Why don’t tarot cards work?

The interpretation of a tarot card depends on the questions asked, card combinations used, and spreads used. Standard card meanings may not be suitable for a specific context. It’s important to ask “How can I interpret this card in this specific reading?” instead of “What does this card mean?” This approach is not taught in courses like my Tarot Foundations program, which covers all 78 tarot cards.

Are tarot cards against Christianity?

The Bible offers counsel against the practice of sorcery, divination, soothsaying, fortunetelling, and the use of mediums and spiritists. While tarot cards may be employed for the purposes of divination and fortunetelling, it is meditation and archetype exploration that offer a more suitable avenue for such pursuits.

What is the psychology behind tarot cards?

Tarot readings involve the use of symbolism, intuition, and the human psyche to access the collective unconscious and deeper layers of awareness. This process aligns with psychological concepts like archetypes, symbolism, and narrative therapy, emphasizing the importance of storytelling and symbolism in shaping our understanding of ourselves and the world. Three factors contributing to transformation following a tarot session include positive expectations, the placebo effect, and the belief in the effectiveness of the treatment. This optimistic outlook can lead to real improvements in well-being.

Do tarot cards tell you what to do?

The tarot is a magical tool that is not about fortune-telling but about storytelling. Its practice is entirely secular, with no psychic elements or specific guidance. Instead, the tarot’s narrative power invites questions and self-reflection, empowering individuals to make decisions about their future. The interplay between different cards can offer new perspectives, challenge old thinking, or even force individuals to acknowledge hidden aspects. While the cards are helpful in making decisions and thinking about the path ahead, they don’t always provide the answers popular culture has led us to expect.

The tarot is made up of two sections called the Arcanas, which are the Major Arcana (22 cards) and the Minor Arcana (56 cards). The cards work together to offer new perspectives, challenge old ways of thinking, and help individuals make informed decisions about their future.

  • Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son, the chosen one who chose to be in the flesh to shed His blood for our sins to be forgiven by God, and also dying on the cross as each and everyone of us bearing on sins upon His body, Jesus was buried, and also rose from the dead on the third day. As stated from John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” If you believe in Jesus Christ you already do have everlasting life, but if you haven’t accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, my friend you’re in a horrible state right now where God doesn’t want you to be. As how in the beginning of the verse John 3:16 it states “For God so loved the world,” God loved us “so,” much, not a little but much, more than you can understand He sent His Son to die a gruesome death for us to have life. As stated in Genesis 1:31 “Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” That word good comes from a Hebrew word “tov,” that means good, but when God called us good, this is what God meant by the word “good, a good or good thing, a good man or good woman, the good, goods or good things, good men or good women, also adjective, well, good, better, goodness, goodly, best, merry, fair, prosperity, precious, fine, wealth, beautiful, fairer, favour, glad, bountiful, cheerful, at ease, graciously, joyful, kindly, kindness, liketh, loving, most, pleasant, pleaseth, pleasure, ready, sweet, welfare, better, right, best,” which can be found in p.

  • If you look at the pattern of your examples in this article, it’s almost like your body is having you let go of things, foods, cannabis, tarot cards because you don’t feel you resonate with that item or the cards or the marijuana anymore. This article isn’t so much about tarot cards as it is about you letting go of things in your life.

  • The truth is; there is no THE future. I know Oddo goes to Bashar, and Bashar says it himself, there are many futures, some are more probable than others, but it is NEVER set in stone. Otherwise the purpose of life would be destroyed; the purpose is to create the future you prefer (amongst other purposes; healing, and expressing for instance). But Tarot cards can be useful to discern what you know within you is true, when making a choice for instance. I would never use them regularly tho.

  • I stopped using these about two years ago. I am a very vivid dreamer, and my dreams have been one of the most powerful doors to my own intuition and something that shows me the parts of my life that I’m ignoring in my waking life. I trust my overall tuition and usually it has not failed me in the decisions I made in my life.

  • It’s easy to abuse things in modern times when we have easy access. Tarot cards were not originally meant for the trivial questions most nowadays ask nor were they meant to be frequently used. It had much more depth when treated like a sacred object there to be used in pressing times or special occasions such as critical equinoxes/seasons/times which rarely happen. You aren’t going to get the same quality of work if you’re gonna ask simp questions like “what should I eat for breakfast?” And when you do readings it’s always a matter of your state of mind. Anyone can read things negatively if you’re already set to be in a negative space. Death isn’t always literal, and the Devil is a symbolic meaning of being bound materially when spiritually it is an illusion that we must see past. You could easily have taken those meanings as your own state of being and how you metaphorically needed to let go of those fears to move forward, but you were fixated on the shallow interpretation of what was physically there before your eyes. Even then, certain things in life need to be taken out on faith over expecting fate to pan out when you aren’t taking the actions needed to make a difference. Even if you are physically incapable with a given situation the mind is still where it all starts and is not limited like our physical aspects. I’m not disregarding your experiences or reasonings of why you stopped using tarot. These are points people need to take into consideration so something as esoteric as tarot isn’t continuously treated as some neat parlor trick when it was always meant to be so much more that goes beyond ones self.

  • I’m jus gunna say this… What you described Victor (not just the tarot cards, all of the stories), it sounds like typical addict behavior. Until you got to that Flow state 😉 I’m no expert in addiction (I know a bit) however, I am an expert in harmony and balancing, by nature. Floooooooow 😎 Cannabis is only an issue, when you need it… remember this 🙏🏼 Nothing is BAD, it’s our attachment to it that can become a problem.

  • Meanings are NOT black and white like most people think. The corresponding card (past and present) paints a different story. Your life is a storyboard depending on your layout. Also, your hand (YOU YOURSELF) ✋🏼 is extremely important that deals and handles the cards. You’re either gifted or not (a salesman or women). You can sell divination and make YouTube websites go ahead. Example, like lady Marie Lenormand from France. She was gifted hundred folds versus any other ordinary person. Who decides is your ancestors in the afterlife (family tree), guardian angels and etc. we will never know much about the spiritual realm if we are living. This is just an educated guess of why you’re gifted. You just can’t make yourself “gifted” or declare it. There’s a lot of fake reader now a days good at black and white meanings and are NOT gifted.

  • Awesome! Lots of traps in the new age babble. Our own Spirit has all the answers we need. We don’t need cards, crystals, websites, spirit guides, angels or plant medicine. Many traps set to make us think we need outside help beyond our own Spirit which only act to open us up to interdimensionals that have very malevolent agendas for humanity. I fell into a lot of new age traps but I’m glad I got myself out of them. Much more empowering way to live.

  • you can practice any card that you want…as long not me the one who practice, it really dangerous I think, let say if you predict me then it’s okay, but what if someone else out there?…I don’t want to focus something that I didn’t know….I don’t want associate with genies, I’m already poor and genies make me become more poor….I don’t like it.

  • from non spiritual person perspective that’ve been perusal and analyzing tarot for a year … i jump to my conclusion that IT BOGUS … the way that most person who read tarot is kind of go round and round, depends on the problem that they can see, past energy does exist but future energy doesn’t … and they seems dictated people life’s problem is simple …. in reality people have different situation, problem, and circumstances … from there … the BS “comforting words” start to speak in … but in reality is what you see is what you get … they often said follow your intuition, ask your guides if they got no idea what they should resolve the desperate people problem … if you want to start in this kind of BS please read this … it wont do you any good … stay in reality as you can and see what life give you next, because thats the point of living … dont complicated your self with this term of awakening, transformation, spirit guides, angels, higer self, healing, meditation, chakra activation, collecting crystal, cleasing, burning shit, lists goes on and on and on … dont BS yourself when life already give you shit …

  • That’s called using them for every single little decision in your life….and you can’t do that ! You became dependent on them like a drug. One has to know and have the wisdom to not use them in such a manner ….and some people just can’t, so I get it. But knowing what you know now, and having the understanding that you knew you were doing that, maybe at some point you could use them again in the future, and use them as intended 🤷….i am a practicing witch, so the tarot is sometimes an extension of me, I couldn’t imagine NOT being able to use them again ! Chalk it up to a learning experience I guess .

  • Often a lot of external grasping for knowledge about the future, or an obsession with change is a lack of self acceptance..I find if I’m suffering I allow myself to kill myself..if I decide to kill myself, I let go of the pressure of life and my imagined pressure..simply imagining myself dead and non existing makes me realise I’m totally fine as I am and reminds me just me being alive is enough as a non remarkable being, just simply breathing and my eyes shining is enough..there doesn’t need to be a future..I can exist without hope for better things or need anything remarkable..the thought of non existence wakes me up..I usually find thinking about killing myself gives me the freedom to live pure heartedly, that me simply being alive without a future in the moment is far greater than any imagined possessions or endeavour.. change is simply an attempt to escape..just kill yourself each day but keep breathing.. accept existing as you are is better than being dead, and simply laugh cheerfully at that.. anything much more than that is just an illusion … let life flow out of not needing to exist

  • I honestly wished I never got into all of this. Looking back it actually cost a lot of money which could have been better utilized to improve my life in other ways. I find hypnosis therapy as a better alternative to empower myself for situations I am not confident or anxious about. I am trying to not use my cards anymore but I do look into Vedic astrology more to learn about myself than to try and predict things with certainty.

  • I think you are interpreting cards the wrong way. Death cards, tower, and so many things are not negative defending on sorrounding cards. I don’t read it as negative. Death is clean slate but not litteraly going to kill anybody. devil is just habits and addiction, greed and all but not like litteral devil lols.

  • Anything, I am working on my way to breatharian life 🙂 I am a light being and I need not have co-dependency on food 🙂 nothing wrong with the food, it’s embedded in society that food is healing, yes moderate consumption like medicine yet we are addicted to it 🙂 time is upon us to see food as a healing tool not to consume daily and the rest of the time we needed to eat cosmic energy, and sun energy ( which can’t be pollutaed and has highest vibe along with breath)

  • It’s really funny how there are those who use tarot cards just for reflecting on them and then folks who explain others why they didn’t use them or explain people in general how they think they need to live life. I really wonder if that all is a matter that you don’t enjoy life yourself or you just want to get attention from others to create boring articles. I really wonder what people actually gain by perusal inpractical talks which are addressed to a mass of people.

  • but it is the same with Astrology, people should take astrology predictions with a pinch of salt. Astrology is a tool which help us in our spiritual evolution like the symbols of tarot., they are not a prediction tools, they are guiding us.. Astrology is a set of archetype cosmological geometrical symbols and possibilities. We have the control of our destinies and lives, the answer is always within us. The planets impel they don’t compel
