What Is A Tarot Card’S General Reading?

A general reading in tarot is a reading that provides a broad overview of a person’s life or a specific time period, without providing detailed answers to specific questions. It is often used as an opportunity to listen to Spirit’s direction or to connect with intuition and find answers about love, relationships, and life paths. There is no right or wrong way to pull a Tarot reading, and there is no right or wrong way to interpret it.

Tarot is a divination system that uses a specific set of 78 illustrated cards, each with its own specific meanings, built up over hundreds of years. To become a skilled Tarot card reader, follow these steps:

Who should read tarot?

The tarot is a universal tool that can be read by anyone, regardless of age, profession, or background. It is not a tool that can be used in conjunction with other practices like spellcraft, astrology, crystal work, or divination. Instead, the tarot’s magic lies in its narrative power, which invites questions and self-reflection, empowering individuals to make their own decisions about their future.

The interplay between different cards can offer new perspectives, challenge old ways of thinking, or even force individuals to acknowledge hidden aspects of themselves. While the tarot can be helpful in making decisions and thinking about the future, it is not as effective as popular culture has led us to expect. The tarot’s narrative power allows for self-reflection and enables individuals to make their own decisions about their future.

In conclusion, the tarot is a universal tool that can be used by anyone, regardless of their background or profession.

How to ask tarot yes or no?

To make a Tarot spread, shuffle your deck with an equal number of reversed and right side up cards. Ask a question and draw an uneven number of cards, depending on your desired outcome. For example, draw one card for a quick yes/no answer, one for reverse, and one for upright. If you want to layer in insight, draw three cards and set your intention for the spread. Ask “Should I _?” and read the mind, body, and spirit energy about the issue. This technique is a great 5-15 minute guide when you can’t make up your mind about something. For example, to determine if to offer a Tarot class again and to understand the cards’ guidance for your unconscious desires, do a three card yes/no spread.

How do you do a basic tarot reading?

To perform a tarot reading, choose a three-card spread with three cards representing past, present, and future. Start in a calm state, clear the deck by shuffling and imagining it bathed in a cleansing light. Ask your question and visualize the deck absorbing it. Cut the deck and place the top half on the left, then flip over the first card and place it down in front of you. Repeat with the next two cards until you have a single line of three cards.

The results of the reading can be interpreted by examining the major arcana and minor arcana cards. Major arcana cards symbolize larger life issues, while minor cards represent daily experiences. Your deck may come with a book explaining each card’s meaning, or you can find meanings on sites like Biddy Tarot or rely on your own intuitive interpretation.

What is the meaning of general reading?

The term “general reading” encompasses a multitude of reading types, including newspapers, non-fiction books, novels, poetry, plays, and magazines, which are typically engaged with for pleasure.

Can I do a tarot reading without asking a question?

A general reading without a specific question allows you to focus on the message you need without focusing on the question. This approach can reveal blind spots and provide insights that may not be immediately apparent during questioning. Readings for others often reflect their questions, but often reveal deeper issues that need to be addressed before they can be addressed. For example, a reading for someone seeking dating advice focused on their interactions with people and their internal thought processes. Addressing these issues can make it easier to attract healthy relationships, but it may not be the kind of answer most people expect.

What are general readers?

Instructors often use the term “general reader” to describe an audience with at least some college education who is aware of a topic but not an expert. This audience is diverse, with newspapers writing for a general reader, aiming to appeal to a variety of people from different backgrounds. When discussing an academic audience, instructors emphasize using evidence that is acceptable to a variety of educated people, using academic sources rather than popular ones, and providing proof to support your views.

To effectively write for a general reader, consider what they know about the topic, what they wouldn’t know, and what types of evidence and reasons are acceptable to an audience that doesn’t share the same background and beliefs.

  • I read tarot and poker cards. I can read past or future with them. I’ve been reading for nearly 30 years, and I have all cards pretty much figured out to a T. With poker cards, the 5’s mean medical problems, Aces are children, 10’s family, etc. it depends on the energy I get. Poker cards are nice though! I use the larger ones.

  • How do you read playing cards as tarot cards? I’ve been looking online and other YouTube articles but they where way to chatty not really getting to the point. I would like to know how to spread out the cards and just see a list of what the cards mean. Most of these websites where to caught up with explaining every single card and if they include or not included the joker cards. Not really explaining how many cards to take out or the layout. I’ve seen different variations of reading with playing cards. If anyone can help me please.
