When a planet is stationing or turning direct, it gains power and stops, making itself comfortable. This process can last for weeks or months in a “shadow period” after the planet corrects course and turns direct. Stationing occurs when a planet hovers in about the same location in the Zodiac, which happens whenever a planet or body turns retrograde or direct.
A planet in normal motion is called stationary direct. The moment of its apparent pause is known as stationing. Once a planet has changed direction and seems to be in direct motion, it signifies a significant event in astrology. Mercury transitions from retrograde to direct motion signifies a significant event in astrology, as its functioning may have been turbulent during the retrograde phase.
When Mercury stations direct, it needs a few days to regulate its orbit, and any delay, frustration, or confusion surrounding Mercury-ruled matters will soon find resolution. The effects of a planet’s transition are different for each zodiac sign, and it is important to understand what to expect now that it’s moving at its normal pace.
When a planet is turning retrograde or direct, it slows down and gears up to change direction. Mercury will station direct on Aug. 28, marking the end of a period of reflection and the beginning of forward momentum. This is called the direct station and it can linger in a “shadow period” after a planet stations and turns direct.
All planets in our solar system station retrograde at some point within an 18-month period. Before a planet goes retrograde or is poised to move direct after a retrograde period, it will STATION, meaning it will hover for up to a few days.

What does 1 station mean?
The fetal station is a crucial indicator during labor, indicating the baby’s position in the pelvis. It can be zero, negative, positive, or a +5. It is common for a baby to be at -3, -2, or -1 during labor. It is recommended that a mother wait until the baby’s head is engaged in the pelvis, at least 0, before pushing. Waiting until the baby is lower in the pelvis can shorten the pushing time and reduce the risk of birth canal swelling. The fetal station is part of the Bishop score, which helps doctors determine the need for induced labor, Cesarean delivery, or forceps delivery.
What is direct Mercury?
Direct mercury analysis is a widely utilized analytical technique across a range of disciplines, having been endorsed by esteemed organizations such as the EPA and ASTM. The process comprises four stages: thermal decomposition, catalytic conversion, amalgamation, and atomic absorption detection. It is employed in a range of industrial and academic contexts.
What does it mean when planets are direct?
“All planets direct” is a period in astrology where there are no retrograde planets. Typically, at least one planet enters or exits its retrograde phase at any given time. However, there are stretches of time when the cosmos aligns in our favor and brings some retrograde relief. Starting on January 27, 2024, we will enter this period, with no retrograde planets in the sky until April 1, 2024. This is a great time to put action behind your plans and take advantage of the momentum.
In 2024, there will be no retrograde planets in the sky from January 27, 2024, to April 1, 2024. This period is a great time to put action behind your plans and take advantage of the momentum. The zodiac signs for love and marriage in 2024 are also predicted to be lucky.
What is the difference between direct and retrograde in astrology?
In the context of planetary dynamics, direct motion refers to the movement of a planetary body in a direction that is aligned with the motion of other bodies within its system. This is also known as prograde motion. In contrast, retrograde motion denotes motion in a direction opposite to that of other bodies within the same system. In the case of celestial bodies such as the Carme group of moons, this motion may be a genuine phenomenon, defined by the natural rotation or orbit of the body in question.
Which signs are direct?
The most forthright of the zodiac signs are Aries, ruled by Jupiter and typified by a fiery nature; Sagittarius, a sign that values honesty and straightforwardness; Leo, ruled by Scorpio and associated with expansion and wisdom; and Aquarius, known for their expansion and wisdom.
What does it mean when a planet stations?
Planetary stations refer to the changes in motion from direct to retrograde and retrograde to direct, which are transits we all experience, often referred to as “pivotal days”. These stations are characterized by dramatic changes in motion, with six slow-moving planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, experiencing twelve pivotal days.
Five fast-moving planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Juno, and Ceres, also experience pivotal periods during their retrograde periods. Mercury experiences a three-week retrograde period every four months, while Venus experiences a six-week retrograde period every year and a quarter. Mars experiences a twelve-week retrograde period every two or two and a quarter years. Ceres and Juno, both in the asteroid belt, usually go retrograde for about 16 weeks each year. These stations are a significant part of our lives as humans on Earth.

What does go direct mean in astrology?
Mercury Retrograde is a planetary phenomenon where a planet moves forward or backward through the zodiac signs, causing an optical illusion. Direct motion involves more straightforward energies, while retrograde energy is more involved. Mercury, the planetary muse and mentor of our mental and communicative lives, appears to reverse its course three or four times a year. This phenomenon is influenced by the zodiac’s signs and the influence of the planets’ movements.
What does stationed direct mean in astrology?
A planet reaches its direct station when it begins moving forwards, operating particularly powerfully. This is the normal motion of a planet, with the Sun and Moon always in direct motion. Other planets can move in retrograde motion at times.
Retrograde motion occurs when a planet moves backwards in the sky, with its energy operating particularly powerful due to its lack of apparent motion. The outer planets, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, have particularly powerful retrograde stations.
Retrograde motion occurs rarely for personal planets like Mercury, Venus, and Mars, with Mars experiencing this motion once every two years or so and lasting about eight weeks. Venus is retrograde about every two years but for only six weeks. The outer planets beyond Mars go into retrograde motion for about 5 months of every year. Astrologers interpret transiting personal retrograde planets as more inner-directed, inhibiting direct action.
When Venus is retrograde, relationships with others operate on a more internal level, and reflecting on one’s partnership situation or researching potential romance is a better bet than acting on impulses that may not last longer than the six-week period.
What does station mean in astrology?
A retrograde station is a period when a planet appears motionless in space, preparing for a massive journey backwards. This period can cause chaos and frustration for humans on Earth due to the sudden lack of movement related to the planet’s energy. However, it can also be a relief as we have time to figure things out.
After the retrograde station, the planet begins its retrograde movement, which can last for three weeks or months for slower moving planets like Mercury. Eventually, there is a second station called the direct station, where the planet becomes motionless again and prepares to move forward. This can be empowering, but it can also be unsettling due to the energy being unleashed.
In summary, a retrograde station is a period when a planet appears motionless and prepares for a massive journey backwards. This period can provide clarity and empowering experiences, but it may also be unsettling due to the potential energy release.
What to do when Mercury is direct?
Mercury is turning direct, allowing for more efficient operations such as signing contracts, scheduling meetings, and making decisions. This change is a significant change from Mercury’s retrograde state, which can cause issues in transportation, commerce, and communication. Once Mercury stations direct, it takes a few days to regulate its orbit, and any delays, frustrations, or confusion related to Mercury-ruled matters will soon resolve.
However, turning direct again is not as easy as declaring “on your mark, get set, go!” and watching Mercury zoom out. Despite the challenges, Mercury’s new direction is a potent phenomenon that can lead to significant changes in various aspects of life.

Some reflections as Pluto is stationing for the next week till the end of the month, just at the heals of the upcoming Eclipses in …
That explains why some people with a lot of Sagittarius in their charts come up with ideas that they believe in so fervently to be universal, even though they are entirely subjective. Going and seeing, checking in, asking and verifying are great antidotes for this. It’s the practice of genchi gembutsu.
Exactly what I need to hear. I have discovered something about my life this week that is truly a milestone experience. It is a lot to take in, and to accept with gratitude. As a Course student for close to 40 years I should have the tools to work through this these following weeks.Grateful, Thank you.
Wow Ari, your delineations, wise understandings, and communications are astute and powerful! My SN is in Aries in the 8H and NN in Libra in H2. The perspective you offered here affirms my soul’s deeper wisdom. Thank you friend! You are astrology “Fire”, as the kiddos say. Sending 💕to you, Michelle and your sweet babies. Ms. Kevin M.
I just found out at 2:02p.m. on 9-25-24 that I got the position of Recording Secretary over 3 states for Baptist Ministries. I hadn’t heard anything for 2 months, so I wasn’t sure if I got it. It’s amazing that it happened when mercury D. conjuncted the north node at my natal 15 degrees mercury. I made a chart and there’s lots of trines with my natal chart and the time of the e-mail. For those that are interested, my birth is 8-18-52 at 4:28 a.m.. Thank you, this was so timely. I thought that I would hear at the eclipse, then the jup-uranus conj, then FM in scorpio, nada! I had given up, thinking that there wasn’t anything else coming up that was noteworthy! 😀
I agree that Jupiter looks at things holistically while Mercury gathers information from the immediate environment and from details. I would personally describe Jupiter as less of an intuition, and more of a philosophy, and occasionally, direct downloads from God such as from the gurus and prophets (which I wouldn’t call intuition as that happens on a daily and mundane basis for most women, I would call Jupiter’s “intuition” more of an epiphany, a divine intervention). Intuition is the Moon to me, and to some extent Mars in the sense of physical instinct rather than the more ethereal intuition of the Moon. Jupiter isn’t really a “gut” feeling, it’s more of a learned mindset that maybe “feels intuitive” because we often don’t know why we have a philosophical mindset because it’s ingrained in us from childhood (Jupiter represents the grandparent and the patriarch, but a generous and joyful one compared to Saturn). However, because Jupiter is also so holistic and global, it also encompasses the concepts of academia (exchange of philosophical ideas) and travel around the world. So unlike true intuition that is so ingrained in the psyche it can’t be questioned (if something feels off with this person, something just does), or the physical instincts that are ingrained in the body and can’t really be questioned (I’m hungry when I’m hungry), the “intuition” of Jupiter can usually be questioned because it’s actually a philosophy, and because Jupiter is expansive, this questioning happens in expansive environments likes college or traveling (well, it’s supposed to be expansive in the former, and usually actually is in the latter).
Thank you very much, Ari. Your message helps a lot to lessen the anxiety I am experiencing in this Pluto square natal Pluto I am aware that I am living through. I want to have better discernment of what old patterns are dropping away and what new energies are flowing in but sometimes it’s hard to feel if the new opportunities are repackaged old stuff! I want to live consciously but not in a controlling way and still choose wisely what I agree to. How to not over analyze new opportunities and trust the Divine Unfolding? I will keep listening. Thank you, Sarra
