What is the logo and tagline of GE?
General Electric’s famous slogan “We Bring Good Things to Life” was used between 1979 and 2003 to highlight the company’s diverse products and services. The slogan, designed by BBDO and led by project manager Richard Costello, was responsible for increasing popularity and a new image for the company. The campaign, which cost billions of dollars, primarily focused on General Electric’s appliances and lighting fixtures.
In 2001, Jack Welch retired with GE’s worth at 505 billion dollars and was replaced by Jefferey Immelt as CEO. Immelt changed the slogan to “Imagination at Work” in 2003, ending the “We Bring Good Things to Life” campaign. By the 1990s, GE had become a highly diversified worldwide conglomerate that sold lighting products and appliances, aircraft engines, capital services, industrial systems, information services, medical systems, plastics, power systems, and transportation systems.
GE’s acquisition of RCA in 1986 signaled a shift in the company’s emphasis to service and technology industries. The company was the only one to remain on the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index since 1896. The “We Bring Good Things to Life” advertising campaign focused on GE’s message and helped bring all of its interests to the public’s attention under one umbrella theme.

What is the meaning of GDIT?
GDIT argues that the VA unreasonably evaluated its proposal under the technical evaluation factor by discounting or failing to recognize strengths, and by assigning three weaknesses under the technical approach element of the technical factor. The court finds that none of these arguments provide a basis to sustain the protest.
GDIT argues that the agency should have assigned strengths based on aspects of its proposal that were not recognized as providing benefits. Instead, the protester argues that the agency should have considered two strengths to be significant strengths, and that the agency improperly combined multiple positive aspects of its proposal into a single strength.
First, GDIT contends that the agency should have designated the finding regarding its key personnel a significant strength under the staffing approach element, rather than a strength. This aspect of its proposal should have been assigned a significant strength, because it corresponded to the definition of a significant strength in the agency’s evaluation guide for this procurement. The court finds that the protester’s argument that the agency was required to follow the definitions of strengths and significant strengths in the internal evaluation guide is not a valid basis of protest.
Secondly, GDIT challenges the assignment of three weaknesses to its proposal under the technical approach element of the technical factor. The court finds that none of these arguments have merit and address a representative example.
As a preliminary matter, GDIT argues that each of the three weaknesses were improperly assigned because the agency’s evaluation of its technical proposal considered information from “pricing and technical assumptions” set forth in the protester’s price proposal. The protester argues that the agency’s evaluation guide for this procurement prohibited the technical evaluators from considering an offeror’s price proposal because the guide specified that rice evaluations will be accomplished independently from non-Price evaluations.
As discussed above, a challenge to an agency’s alleged failure to comply with internal agency evaluation guidance or policies that are not contained in the terms of the solicitation or mandatory procurement regulations is not a valid basis of protest. In this case, the solicitation did not state that the agency would exclude consideration of price from the evaluation of technical proposals.
📹 Robin DiAngelo Freaks Out Over ‘Am I Racist?’ And It’s Glorious
Today on the Matt Walsh Show, my new film, “Am I Racist?”, premiers in theaters this weekend. But shockingly, some of my …
I live in Los Angeles and I teach Social Science at a public high school. For years, I endured being the butt of the jokes as I shared my conservative views to my left-leaning colleagues who were nice to me to my face but laughed behind my back. I was the only one who didn’t go to the rallies that were held at our quad and everyone wore rainbow shirts and waved “Gay Pride” flags during Ally Week. No, I’m not homophobic. Neither am I racist (I am a Filipino-American by the way). I’m just conservative. For the first time, I sat in a theater full of strangers who happened to be conservative like me here in Los Angeles and we got to laugh together for a change. Thank you Matt Walsh. I needed this film.
It’s amazing how Robin DiAngelo flat-out admits that Matt was polite and genuine with her. And then, of course, claims he’s literally Hitler once she realizes that he has different political opinions than she does. I don’t agree with Matt on every issue, but I’m glad he exists, and is putting up a fight against these racist jackhoIes.
As an Indian-Canadian man married to a “white” woman, these dinners are RIDICULOUS and thank God my “white” wife agrees. We both work hard and treat people well and with respect, regardless of race. I grew up in the Caribbean where we all had to get along because the populations were so small. We grew up treating each others as equals and did not think to go back in history to try to get “reparations;” for what? We looked towards the future so ALL can get ahead. That Indian woman Saira Rao, does NOT speak for all Indians and in fact could we give her to you? LOL She is intelligent but is manipulating her intelligence to make a baseless living on perceived racial inequality and that is misdirected energy. DO NOT pay for this ridiculousness!
Fellow Buckeye here. Its not just Springfield. I saw a guy grab two ducks in Lancaster, Ohio. He snapped their necks and just walked off down the path toward town. I go there to feed the ducks cracked corn, I can get a 50-pound bag for $9 bucks, which used to be $6 but anyways. I was there to feed the ducks and saw it with my own eyes. I called the police and they said I needed to contact Jade Heizer the county wildlife officer. I was shocked, they wouldn’t do anything about it. I left a message on the number provided by the police but never heard back from anyone. But, if he did it once without anything happening I’m sure he will be back to get more ducks.
Matt, I saw “Am I Racist?” yesterday with my father. It was hilarious! Everyone in the theatre was roaring, laughing, and having a great time. One thing that struck me was just how many people were in the the theatre with us. I recently saw some mainstream Hollywood movies upon release – the horror movie “Longlegs” with Nicholas Cage and the thriller “Blink Twice” with Channing Tatum – and neither of these movies had an audience the size of the one that went to see “Am I Racist?”. I found that very encouraging.
Holy shit, as a nurse, my family would be so much better off if i wasnt paying 50% of my overtime in taxes. For people who dont know, middle class Americans who regularly work OT know EXACTLY how many hours they can work before they get bumped into a higher tax bracket, and at what point they wnd up working the next 5 hours basically for feee.
Since DiAngelo is a DEI educator and activist who believes in reparations, one can only wonder how much of her exorbitant fees she donates to the black community as to not exploit them…anyone want to take a guess?? My guess is she feels that her work is “helping” them so that is sufficient enough. Further, I am sure the $20 (or however much it was) that she paid in so called reparations to the man with Matt Walsh probably was near 100% more than everything she had previously donated to help black individuals. Talk about a grift!
It’s not screening anywhere on the Big Island of Hawaii but I’m pretty sure that I am a racist anyway being a white, middle aged heterosexual man. I did move from a predominantly white country to go live amongst a bunch of brown people but I suspect that I was suffering from a repressed urge to colonize and not for the spirit of adventure and opportunity.
My husband and I went on our first ever movie date last night. The cushioned recliners made the thirty mile drive to nearest theater showing Am I Racist? justifiable. The movie itself made the 45 minute drive with no air conditioning in Minnesota during afternoon rush hour traffic completely worth it.
Here is the difference between these extreme D.E.I people and a minority like me. I’m independent politically, I don’t know Matt Walsh, there are some things about him I don’t like, but; I don’t believe he’s racist. I disagree with some of his other political positions, but I can still watch his website and this movie and agree with what it exposes. Extreme leftist can’t by nature stand to be with people they disagree with. That is an anomaly in interpersonal skills that’s a glaring Red Flag!!!
I’m a Caucasian woman from Irish/Scottish decent dating a treaty Indian (indigenous) man. In the 4 years we have been together I have met a lot of other indigenous individuals. Most to all of whom make jokes about their “reparation” money from the Canadian government. They joke such as, “oh no it’s raining on my birthday. It’s climate change cause of the white man so where’s my weather reparations. They love it, they love the money. They are laughing at the white man and his “reparations” 🤦♀️ Don’t think for one min, someone isn’t going to take FREE money just for being a particular race of human. It makes up for NOTHING to them.🤦♀️
It is said you can tell the character of a man by who his enemies are. Matt, you are the exact polar opposite of these unholy racist haters. They can’t stand that you made them face reality. You made them see themselves for who they really are and they hate you for it. Keep courage and keep up the good work.
Matt, I watched your movie on opening day. LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!! It was great. Thank you for bringing this SCAM to light in a great hilarious and sarcastic way. I loved it when you made Robin DiAngelo eat her own words and had her pay reparations showing us that she doesn’t even support it. LOL. I also loved the last level, “Self Flagellation”. LOL, When I went through DEI Courses while as an academic advisor at a tech school, the “Self Flagellation” was what hit it for me. It was like, I was holding the whip to my colleagues and saying, “You are Racist!” while in reality, they were not. This was great, and I know it’s a long shot, but man, I sure do wish you get a Grammy or Emmy for this. LOL. Loved it and worth every penny for the non stop laughs throughout the whole movie.
I went to see it yesterday! I couldn’t believe it was playing in Seattle. My friend and I agreed it was even better than the trailer, and Matt’s talent for satire and awkward situational comedy matched with his perfect timing had me laughing to tears. The film editing, too, made the comedic parts just that much more impactful.
Saw the documentary yesterday it was FANTASTIC! Everyone was laughing in the theater. Yet also it was poignant. I get so angry at what these communists are doing to America. You could really see what America is when you interviewed the black gentleman and those in the bar. We just want to live our lives in peace. I hope this movie breaks records Matt. Excellent work!
So Robin DeAngelo is so committed to her cause that she charges 7k an hour to talk about it. Don’t people know they can be called racist for free? And knowing her perception of these things, when she says she’s getting hateful and misogynistic comments it could be somebody saying something like “I disagree with you.”
Just back from the film. Sadly, I was the only one to have purchased a ticket online for today’s noon show (which I had to juggle some family commitments and work vacation time to get in). I was happy to find 9 others showed up by the time the film started – including 2 apparently homeless guys who had TB or something, they coughed for the whole time until they left 20 minutes to the end. The others, though, laughed out lout at parts, as did I, and when Thomas Sowell’s quote about anti-racism hustlers came on screen, one woman loudly applauded and said YES. The film was really quite good and I hope more fellow Canadians will get out to the local cineplex and support it. I always stay for the credits and was pleased to be rewarded this time – everyone else but one had departed by then. Quite a few genuine laugh out loud moments – without spoiling anything, this included the whip scene and the reparations payment(s). Very glad I went.
I don’t know if the overtime tax is a good idea or not, but two things 1: before, I used to work a lot of overtime and when I saw how much money of taxes was taken from my check, I worked my butt off NOT to work overtime. This is a great incentive for your work to be recognized.2: THIS IS A PLAN!!! Thought and analyzed, completely the opposite of what the vice president is doing. SHE DOES NOT HAVE A PLAN!!! She is talking about giving away all this money (opportunity, she calls it) taken from where, thin air?! I am telling you, TRUMP 2024!!
Can someone explain why Black teens and young adults are constantly using the “N” word and their underwear is always showing –As a Black man in my age group I and no one else does not understand this and also the alarming fact that homicide is the leading cause of death among young Black men, and contributes significantly to the shortened life-span of the Black male. In about 90% of the cases, the Black victim was killed by another Black.
Two quick thoughts: Firstly, I find it hilarious that these people consider themselves intelligent, yet continue to parrot and mimic any behavior they see, which is in the case of Matt manipulating the woman into giving Ben money. That’s hilariously sad to me. Secondly, I went to the theater in Grundy, Virginia yesterday for the opening of Matt Walsh’s Am I Racist? Which opened somewhere but not in Grundy. I spoke with the attendee who stood in an empty theater lobby with no patrons and I mean 0 people were there perusal the three movies this small theater has and I asked him if he thought they’d get it in because the area on the Kentucky line is hugely conservative. He said the theater was owned by outside sources and they picked what his patrons watched. This is very upsetting as he didn’t offer me a way to get in touch with whomever knows best what I should think and feel about these things. I’m gonna try my hometown of Pikeville but I think they too are owned by “outsiders”. Perhaps we should allow free speech instead of repressing it seeing that this movie would have done very well here in my neck of the woods. Matt, if you read my comment I’d pay $5 per family member to you directly to bring my rather large group and anyone else I can muster up if you wanted to send someone down to Southwest Virginia and do a screening of the movie outdoors or in a few locations where there’s still a drive-in screen standing. Otherwise, we’ll have to wait to buy it online and all of us watch it for one low price but wouldn’t it be wonderful if one of the few movies I knew was going to be excellently done and deliver with gravitas in a way movies don’t seem to do any more since Cancel Culture and Wokeness silenced the majority in an attack on the nuclear family and Christian values, that we would have access to entertainment and educational media that aligned with our beliefs.
Dominicans in DR also eat cats. My husbands family lived there when he was very small. They also brought fluffy who at the time was a 8 year old calico. The cat went missing she was gone for hours. My Father in law went to look for her, Came home, got his gun then and hour later come back w Fluffy, collar still on. It was told to him almost immediately by the neighbors that they saw “the cat man” He lived on the next block and had a food cart… no thanks! My father in law reported he went to the house knocked, the man had lots of cat in cages including Fluffy. Fluffy was returned. My father in law seemed a very cool dude, he only lived for a few years after they left the DR. The story of the cat man and Glen kicking the door w his big gun Live on. The libs saying it is racist are the people who find other cultures in their cuisines dispalatable. It is actually racist to say we are waving a false flag. I don’t have a problem with people in China eating dogs, the only problem we had with the cat man is that he stole the cat. But it isn’t racist to point out that people in vietnam eat porcupine people in australia eat kangaroo, And just maybe some haitians are eating some cats
I have a 56 year old white skin, blond haired, blue eyed friend who is a registered member of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. Her mother is 100% native- both native parents, and an Elder. Her Dad, a white guy. The mother is 1 of 13 kids from an “indigenous” family in the tribe 😳 The ONLY WAY anyone can get the blue eyed gene is if the MOTHER kicks out the bb gene to go with the father’s bb gene- SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY PEOPLE ALWAYS GET WHITER- never, ever more “brown”! Somewhere in her elder Mother’s ancestry, she got a recessive bb gene! I don’t care what color anyone is but don’t even start with me about reparations! I know so many people who technically have someone in their family tree with a genetic link to brown, black, Inuit, Hispanic, Mexican, indigenous ancestry that skin color doesn’t mean 💩!!! I think we all know better than that by now!
No tax on OT would have made me so much wealthier. For 5 years straight I worked OT every single week which made the amount taken in taxes skyrocket. Also I was then bumped up into the next tax bracket, so even though I paid $40,000 out of the $110,000 I made I still had to pay another $3500 at tax time.
Hey DW—what we need to be doing is making fiction. One of the main reasons people out there believe that “ra cism” is a problem here is because they see it all the time— in fiction. We need to be making movies about the young W boy who is falling behind in school and can’t get the help he needs because his school runs on “dei” programs. Or the W woman who is afraid to report her (att ack er) because he’s fo reign, and when she finally does, she is sm eared as a “ra cist” by the media. Things like that. We can all see what’s happening in the world, just needs to be shown in entertainment. I have many ideas, but laying them out here is likely to get my comment the 🪓 TLDR: make movies depicting antiwhteism. (Blame the tube, not me)
If anyone’s interested, there’s a British band called UNIT that released a whole album inspired by and dedicated to Prageru, TPUSA and The Daily Wire. I discovered their You Tube website a couple of years ago and most of their stuff is excellent. I’m not an agent for the band nor do I know any of them but, to judge from their lyrics, they seem genuine. I found them by typing UNIT Andy Martin The Voice Of Reason into YT which did the trick. They have the entire album as a playlist. One of their tracks features the mighty Ben Shapiro, a couple of later pieces feature Matt Walsh and they do a cracking version of Columbia Gem Of The Ocean, too!
When I lived outside of Boston, a raccoon chose my front step to die on. A big raccoon. I called animal control and asked them to come dispose of it. They said, “that’s your problem”. There was a family of groundhogs who lived in my toolshed and they were huge and aggressive and scary. Animal control said if I wanted them gone, I’d have to call a nature conservancy organization to relocate them using humane traps. If they detected poison or traps on subsequent random visits to inspect, I’d be fined. When I discovered a mother rabbit built a burrow in my front lawn and called animal control for them to come move the bunnies, they came and put “do not disturb barriers around a ten foot square of my front lawn. They came to check on them once a week. Animal control refers to animals controlling people, not the other way around.
I just returned from the movies. I wanted my ticket sale to appear on your opening weekend numbers. 4.75 million dollars in the first weekend at the box office. Keep promoting this documentary team! We win the culture wars not only by getting angry but also parodying these people’s nonsense while holding a mirror up to them.
Absolutely fantastic many people had to drive out of Santa Cruz because they will not show it there in Silicon Valley spot on my friends spot. I remember having to read these idiots in 2010 when they really pushed it upon the children yes I’m 63 years old and I attended college for 26 years for these specific reason to learn more not about racism, but other topics of interest for my polymath perspective you banged a gong
Slight Leftie and WaPo reader here. Appreciate your comedy/satire and parody as an art form. You have a gift for it. It was a funny movie and doesn’t surprise me many of my fellow lefties won’t see it. Sadly, they could learn some much needed tolerance from it but the reality is most my friends have a superiority complex about practicing intolerance.
Thanks, Matt for standing up for our Romanian gymnasts! We may have our own local racism, sure, but what happened in Paris was just disgusting and the “let’s have an all black podium” just for the sake of wokeness really pissed a lot of us: hence why Chiles got all victim and brought about her skin colour. If the Olympic Committee stayed true and dropped all the nonsense ideology, we wouldn’t have been in this shameful situation.
We enjoyed this so much… had a lot of laughs. We went to the theater about 10 minutes before the movie started. The lady at the ticket counter said we may not want to see it because the only seats available were in the front row. We got inside as the previews started and expected a full house. However, I estimated there were only 40 people and more empty seats than filled seats. Since we were in the front row and could not see behind, I stood up when the movie ended to see if the theater was full. It was not full! I wonder why the theater did this… to dissuade us from perusal? Do theaters pay the creators of the movie by tickets sold? But, we sure enjoyed ourself and appreciate this scam that is just another way to try to take control of our society.
I watched the film last night (sept 16) and since I’m in Washington state, only about 20 people or less were present in the theatre at the time. I’m noticing a pattern with these people in the film: both Robin and the girl in the first group setting where everyone suddenly knew who you were, these people only act on hindsight. In the group, they claimed they knew you were The Matt Walsh….and yet they let you in and accepted the fact that you were present when you first walked in. But they claimed they knew you lied about your name and they all acted threatened that you were present. Ok so if Matt is a threat and you knew it was him the entire time, why didn’t you ask him to leave the moment you saw him? It’s only in hindsight that they act like they’re geniuses who somehow “knew it all along” or “they knew something was off”. That bothers me so much.
I just saw the movie! There were not many in the theater on this Sunday afternoon, but those of us present laughed ourselves to tears! Truly a great movie! Makes the point so well and reveals the massive amounts of money people are making off the scam. As you show in this episode (26:30), Trump’s idea not to tax overtime would be a good and just practice! I am now retired, but when I was working and put in hours of overtime, I used to relish how big my check was going to be after all my hard labor in a factory. Surprise! Surprise! After working hours of overtime, my check would be lower than if I had punched-in for a regular 40, because it put me in a higher tax bracket! It is like doing something good for someone and then getting robbed in return!
Congratulations on a superb follow up to the remarkable “What Is A Woman?” You are singularly talented in your commitment to exposing the shallowness of these deeply counterproductive falsehoods. Perhaps some of what’s being espoused is not strictly mercenary and may be well-intentioned … but we all know what the road to “H” is paved with.
The irony of Robin not understanding how ridiculous the reparations looks is amazing. But also she doesn’t see how it’s almost saying, why not privately pay for reparations rather than make everyday tax payers foot the bill. Like you can do it yourself but no that’s weird and doesn’t acknowledge it’s “systemic.” Loved the movie man. It was hilarious. Also chuckle the little after she asked for your name and when she received Matt she’s like “oh you can never be too careful” as if that gives any more information than she had beforehand. Funniest part of the entire thing was the Juicy Smooliiee reenactment vision thing. I couldn’t stop laughing
In a few months after they’ve all made their excuses and spun things, you should release all of the interview footage in full, unedited. I can’t wait to see the film, but sadly it’s not being shown anywhere near me in the UK. Can we expect it to be available to DW members in the near future? Thanks Matt.
Imagine as an Electrician with five employees I no longer have to have any taxes on payroll or employee taxes on overtime. Well, then Now all of my employees make minimum wage. They get paid for sleeping. They are on the clock 24 seven. Yes, they each still make the same that they did before. About $95,000 per year. But Almost all of their payment is “overtime” Lol, what a joke This is absolutely never going to happen.
Born in the late 70’s, growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, I never once looked around and took inventory of what color my friends were. Instead, I begged to sleep at Jen Lua’s house so I could enjoy every drop of her grandma’s Vietnamese/Hawaiian dinners. I’d BEG to go to Min Soo Pak’s house to pig out on Peking duck. It felt like a normal day to me but as an adult I came to realize just how lucky I was. And then there was Isa Muhammad and his brother Ilan. Their mother made the MOST AMAZING Iranian dishes that I still drool over and wish I could replicate as a tired adult living in a most absurd world. Never in those days was it necessary to teach me how painful my own whiteness was to all of my incredibly ecclectic friends. In fact, we all played outside together no matter if it was raining, snowing or 100 degrees. And loved every second of it. I’d give anything to be able to go back to those days. Those jovial, innocent, delicious days.
I can’t imagine the companies actually not taxing overtime! My husband works 16 hours/day, 6-7 days/week! I have a feeling that the companies will change everyone to salary (but still working the same hours) or they will put the overtime money on a different check and code it as a BONUS check, which is taxed out of the behind! They have done stuff like this before. It is such a blessing, I just hope the companies don’t try to cheat. My husband only gets to come home 1 weekend/month (unpaid of course) & he works so hard. Maybe he’ll be able to retire before too long. Thank you to our wonderful President Trump for always supporting the middle class (& lower middle class)! It means so much to know his heart!❤️ 🙏We pray for you! Stay safe! This country is hopeless without you!✝️🇺🇸
The U.S.A is one of a handful of countries where you can be a multi-millionaire and still claim victim status. Oh how I wish to be in that elite and illustrious group! Crying my eyes out all the way to the bank, swimming in my Olympic size pool filled with 100 hundred bills and trying to mitigate my depression with month’s long vacations in Switzerland, Fiji, New Zealand, the Bahamas etc. instead of Xanax.
oof okay i love matt, i love am i racist, but i disagree with his comment on jordan. all 3 gymnasts had the opportunity to dispute their scores, only she did and therefore rightfully received her bronze. the claim on which they rebuked her medal (that she submitted her enquiry too late) was incorrect. the gymnastic federation accepted the romanian gymnast’s complaint after the fact, but not jordan’s. i don’t think happened because she’s black, but it doesn’t make it any less unfair.
As a fellow ally, I waited a week to watch ‘Am I Racist’ so black viewers could go without feeling oppressed by me being in the audience. I realized that this may have been a mistake, since if black viewers who saw the movie last week decided that I was indeed a racist they might be waiting for me in the theater. So I bought a ticket for a matinee showing in an affluent suburb.
this movie was so much fun to watch! I am a new Michigan transplant so the first movie i went to as a solo traveler and new resident was Am I Racist”. I was so nervous at the beginning with the therapy group but relaxed until the whipping scene. OMG!! Matt truly transformed by “becoming” a soyboy (look that up…there’s actually a historical definition besides being a less than manly man) both in looks and mannersisms AND ATTITUDE. fUN MOVIE!
I was raised in a conservative Christian home and in a very diverse city. My parents never brought up race all they taught us to do was to show respect to everyone until they gave you a reason not to. Only my liberal-leaning friends made race a thing and that didn’t even start until Obama was elected which I’m ashamed to say I voted for him during his first run for president. I was a dumb young man who wasn’t really paying attention to politics, all I knew was Bush was terrible and he was a Republican so I figured let’s give the Democrats a go. That man did more damage to race relations and set us back decades. This is not a racist country but, the Democrats are doing their best to divide us on racial lines and we can’t let their hate prevail.
Saw the movie. It was more crowded than the average Marvel movie these days. Everyone was laughing at every joke. Even the movie staff were laughingly saying “hope you enjoyed the movie” as we were leaving and being chummy with everyone. First time in years people actually seemed happy leaving a movie.
We went to see it this weekend. It was hilarious! I brought my son, and there was only one scene that had a sexual tone. I saw it coming and covered my kid’s face and he covered his ears, so it was all good… but be warned. However, we all laughed through the whole thing and there was a decent audience for a matinee. When I went to post that I was at the movie on Facebook they told me it went against their standards and Fandango wouldn’t let me rate the film even after they emailed me for it… everyone should go see it!
What the hell do you do if you are part white? Being Latin, I am black, white, and indigenous. My lady is Singaporean with limited British blood (less than 15%) but she is more Asian and less white than me. But, she looks white as hell. Where do we draw the line with white privilege? Race is a social construct. It is culture that makes me Latin.
Matt and I are almost the same age. Matt and I spent our teenage years in the 1990’s; the decade of Pearl Jam and Grunge — I remember perusal Pearl Jam’s first music article, “Alive” and I had never heard anything like it before. I was hooked. And, as Matt states, he grew up never really thinking about “race” unlike the obsessive-compulsive disordered, nutjobs that have become so prevalent nowadays. Honestly, I cannot recall a single time in the ’90’s that I ever really considered one’s race as anything to be concerned with. We all shared the same existential problems; we all often lived paycheck to paycheck; we all went to the same public schools, where there were wealthy kids and, like me, not wealthy. It didn’t matter. Suddenly, a bunch of pseudointellectuals, from wealthy families able to foot the bill for an Ivy school, or one of the University of California bait shops, came out swinging. And, here we are: listening to them; encouraging them; coddling them; and, worst of all, voting for them and never questioning them. Now, they are Flag Officers in our military; they are running for congress; they control the freakin’ White House, where they gleefully give tours to Chinese communist government spies, full-access tours of (one may safely assume) every government installation in the Country. Good on you, Matt. Please keep up the good work you do.
