📹 Larry Fleet – Where I Find God (feat. Morgan Wallen) (Live)
Lyrics: That night I hit rock bottom sittin’ on an old barstool He paid my tab and put me in a cab – he didn’t have to But he could …
As soon as Morgan and Larry started to sing I grabbed my guitar and played along with them…over and over. But when I started to sing harmony with the guys I just got too emotional and started to tear up. I’ll keep trying till I make it and I’m 69. I sent this article to my aunt and uncle who are 91 and 92 and they loved it. Thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for bringing this to me.
You know I get laughed at a lot because I get emotional listening to music but what people fail to realize is that when I close my eyes or tears start falling it is because there is something in that song or lyric that takes me back to a place or a person who is either no longer with me or a person who I loved in the past So honestly that’s where I find God I believe that it’s in those hard times or perfect memories where we can find him . Thank you to everyone who has ever written or sang a song that allows me to travel to those times.
Dad committed suicide when I was 15. Parents were separated and I went to visit on weekend and walked in and found him in his bathtub. Cut his neck&wrists. Dropped out of school. Got into drugs. Driving drunk. Didn’t try to take my life but definitely lived careless. Was angry at God and avoided him for a long time. Broken home growing up. Lots of trauma. Then had a moment out on the water fishing. Yelled at God. Well he answered in a weird way. 13 years later I have a beautiful wife and run a business. Thank you Lord. God Is good always.
That’s exactly where I found God. In every bird that sings or animal I see, as the wind blows I feel his presence. When I wake in the middle of the night..I no longer reach beside me because I know he’s there. He’s carried me on my best days and picked me up on my worse. I can’t describe what it’s like to love him unconditionally..like he does me..with all my faults..
I’ve been through absolute hell these past three years. I lost my grandfather (who raised me) two weeks after moving home to be with him, I lost my daughter in September, and I’m at risk of losing my home due to a civil case against my grandmother. Suicide is always in the back of my mind. But God finds me in the depth of my despair and doesn’t let me go. I’ve strayed so far from my faith and don’t feel worthy of his love. But when I feel like giving up, something like this comes along and reminds me that he’s the light at the end of the tunnel we call life. ❤️
Been going through a rough patch in my life the last couple of months and I’ve been stressing out about how I’m gonna get through it. Suicidal thoughts creeping up in the back of my mind, they say the Lord works in mysterious ways, I think he sent a sign to me in the way of this song. Tears rolling down my face as I type this message, definitely needed a song like this 🥺🙏🏻
My little brother just died unexpectedly Friday. I’m dying inside with pieces of my heart gone with him and four years ago we lost our baby sister and I’m so broken right now. This song just hit me thinking about him and how strong his faith was and I keep praying he’s with our loved ones and happy. And how we, our family finds God in places not a church…thank you for this song.
Im 38 yr old male from the Uk and stumbled across this on my homepage and it struck a cord. The simplicity moved me. We lack passion in the uk, its almost as if we are embarrassed by it. It felt good when those harmonies moved me as I almost forgot what it was to feel. So I simply say to Larry Fleet and Morgan Wallen…Thank you for reminding me.
If this one don’t yank on your heartstrings, you’re probably part of the Zombie Apocalypse!!! What a BRILLIANT song!! And ❤️ Morgan Wallen❤️ you’ve got a whole family of girls (5 of us!!) in your front shirt pocket!! We cherish your music!! What a splendid collaboration!! And keep the messages coming!!! This world needs them!!
The night I hit rock bottom, sittin’ on an old barstool He paid my tab and put me in a cab, but he didn’t have to But he could see I was hurtin’, oh, I wish I’d got his name ‘Cause I didn’t feel worth savin’, but he saved me just the same That day out on the water, when the fish just wouldn’t bite I put my pole down, I floated around, was just so quiet And I could hear my old man sayin’ “Son, just be still ‘Cause you can’t find peace like this in a bottle or a pill” From a bar stool to that Evinrude Sunday mornin’ in a church pew In a deer stand or a hay field An interstate back to Nashville A Chevrolet with the windows down Me and him just ridin’ around Sometimes, whether I’m lookin’ for Him or not That’s where I find God Sometimes late at night, I lie there and listen To the sound of her heart beatin’ And the song the crickets are singin’ And I don’t know what they’re sayin’ But it sounds like a hymn to me Naw, I ain’t too good at prayin’ But thanks for everything From a bar stool, to that Evinrude Sunday mornin’ in a church pew In a deer stand or a hay field An interstate back to Nashville A Chevrolet with the windows down Me and him just ridin’ around Sometimes, whether I’m lookin’ for Him or not That’s where I find God From a bar stool, to that Evinrude Sunday mornin’ in a church pew In a deer stand or a hay field An interstate back to Nashville A Chevrolet with the windows down Me and him just ridin’ around Talkin’, well I do that a lot Well, I do that a lot That’s where I find God

I got clean and sober 4 yrs ago this time around. I know for a fact I wouldn’t have made it through the last few years knowing how much we’ve been lied to. I talk to God alot now, without even realizing it. I truly believe he’s helped me accept me. The closest I feel to him is when I’m on the lake, or in the woods. To anyone out there struggling, just know you are good enough the way you are. Much love to all you strangers out there. Xo.

They’re surely right whenever they said you can’t find peace like this in a bottle or a pill. 💊 Been there and done that lifestyle. It’s horrible; God will set you all FREE my dear folks! Had my baptism last year, what an amazing, unbelievable, indescribable experience and blessing it was. I’m blessed and grateful; eternally. I sure thank God for these fine young men making music like this. We need MORE of this! God bless everyone! 🩷💛🩷💛
We just lost our Dad on the 14th of this month. December. He passed away the very next day after I got here the day before. I spent the last 6 hours with him at the hospital. Around 4 in the morning my sister showed up because of what the doctor said. Anyway I left. I’m his oldest. I couldn’t see him take his last breath. Wasn’t about to remember him like that. Didn’t see my Mom go either. I won’t remember the ones that gave me life taking their last. About a day or two later I came across this great Song. Taking everything in… knowing that we have to move on with out the two people that mattered most in our lives. I’m gonna be alright. I learned from my parents. It’s the others I worry about. My other brothers and sister. Anyway this song just came through for me when I was deep in thought. I know things are gonna be ok. Thanks To The Lord Above Us. Amen 🙏.
To everyone I love you all and from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU! Still doing good! I can’t believe that this many people took their time to write a reply to me! It’s cool to see there’s still some Good people in this world! I honestly wish I could Thank each and everyone of you in person! When I get down and out I come here and read the comments and it instanly makes me feel better! Everybody stay up & Take care!🫶🏼🙏🏼
I battled with opiate addiction and countless imprisonments because of the enemy. There is nothing that has ever helped me other than the word of God and Jesus sacrifice for our lives…. I’m now delivered from that life and countless other things that seperated me from the father… Jesus is the answer
I love both you guys tunes but man as I sit here tonight 230am can’t sleep with all these burdens, and demons I’m dealing with and hearing my wife sleeping beside me. This song saved my life tonight. Now I’m in tears with the gun put away and this song playing. Almost like God is talking to me…….thank you Jesus (and both you guys) for this song playing out the blue. #mynewfavoritesong#
Feels like this song was written for me and my son. I’m 63 now, he’s 37, and lives 2000 miles away in CA. But we spent a lotta time fishin’, deer huntin’, and riding around together in my Chevy pickup about 25-30 yrs ago. Loved Larry’s song when he released it, but this live version with Morgan is even more touching. LOVED IT!!!
hi, I to be honest with you all… my comment will probably go unnoticed but my heart will feel lighter anyway… I have not prayed since back on 2007 or so by a bad event that happened in my life I once decided that I was done with religion. After all those years, I still struggle to re-believe, pushing away and finding excuses. But with all my heart I feel that this song is giving me help towards finding myself again in terms of my spirituality I’d say. I have been battling against depression for a while and found myself talking alone multiple times… this song made me realize I was not maybe taking alone, but rather some greater force that I have been avoiding for all those years. The helping hand when I was rock bottom, my friend who took me for a ride in one of my worst days, my mom messaging me to talk with my brother after a long long time… ( just by writing this I began to cry again) Anyway, I guess there are so many reasons to be happy. I am now on therapy and my brother is again my best friend. Maybe I found God.
A coworker passed away a couple weeks ago, he was a great guy, a strong guy and one of those guys that would answer the phone anytime you needed a friend to talk to. I sent him this song when I was going through a hard time and he called me about in tears. I miss you Will, I hope you are at peace now and not suffering or hurting. Until Valhalla!!
They hit the spirit right on the money it was a well-delivered performance and you can feel the connection. I was professional musician my whole adult life after I got out of the Marines. And I really can appreciate when you take it down to the bare minimum of guitar in your voice can you make a connection with the audience like that and deliver something powerful like this it makes it worth it you might have changed a life. One time i was performing with our band. We’re in this club in this couple came in and they sat down and never drank anything just Pepsi. And I started seeing them coming all the time no matter where we’re at even driving 4 or 5 hours to watch us play. Come to find out their daughter had died in the car from an asthma attack and a reaction from the medicine and she died right there in the car when they were driving somewhere earlier that year she was a teenager. This couple told me the story later on. They had a suicide pact and they were going to commit suicide after they had a couple drinks in this bar and they came in and decided to stay and listen. They started following the band. And they said that because they enjoyed it so much they had a reason to keep living and they didn’t kill themselves at night. And they said the band saved them from doing what they were planning on doing. I had the pistols and everything that night and they were going to do this after they drank some. it was a heck of a revelation when they told me I had no idea that was going to happen and if they decided they weren’t going to do it because following the band gave them purpose for that particular time in their lives.
