Is An Amulet Of Salve Effective Against Barrows?

The Salve crystal, empowered by Saradomin’s power from the river Salve, is an offensive amulet that grants a 16.67 increase in the wearer’s Attack and Strength when fighting undead monsters. It is a reward from the Haunted Mine quest and is often used by players training combat skills against undead monsters and boss fights, such as the Barrows brothers.

The Salve Amulet (e) is often used by players to raise their damage and accuracy in all combat styles by 15 while attacking undead monsters. It is an imbued form of the salve amulet, granting an additional 16.67 increase in the wearer’s ranged accuracy and damage, as well as a 15 increase for magic. Magic can be used effectively against each Barrows brother, but Ahrim is weakest to ranged and harder to hit without Air spells or a Tumeken’s shadow.

The Salve Amulet (i) is an enchanted form of the salve amulet, raising the wearer’s damage and accuracy by 20 for all combat styles while fighting undead monsters. However, it does not have any effect on the Barrows brothers. The barrows brothers are considered challenging and immune to rot and poison type of damage but vulnerable to the salve amulet and undead slayer aura.

In summary, the Salve Amulet is an offensive amulet that increases the wearer’s damage and accuracy by 20 against undead monsters, such as the Barrows brothers. The Salve Amulet (e) is an enchanted and imbued form of the salve amulet, which is not effective against the Barrows brothers.

Is the Salve Amulet worth using? In this Series, we go over niche/expensive items and talk about where they’re useful and if you …

Does salve amulet stack with a black mask?

The salve amulet’s bonuses against undead do not stack with the black mask and slayer helmet’s 16. 67 attack and strength bonuses. However, Void Knight equipment’s bonuses stack. The amulet’s effects apply to all targets when using multi-hitting melee weapons in a multicombat area. It can be upgraded through enchanting and imbuing, but amulets imbued through these methods do not count for completing the Ardougne Diary task and cannot be refunded at different locations.

What amulet for barrows?

The Amulet of the Damned is a buff for Barrows equipment, obtained from Silver Shade chests in the Shade Catacombs. It offers the same advantages as the amulet of glory and may only be traded if it has not been previously used. It deteriorates at a rate commensurate with that of other Barrows armor, ultimately transforming into dust when worn. It is possible for players who possess multiple amulets to combine their charges. Furthermore, it is implicated in combat-related clues, whereby it may undergo degradation.

What should I pray against Vorkath?

Players should use a Dragonfire ward or Anti-dragon shield with the Dragon hunter crossbow and pray Protect from Missiles to minimize damage. After completing Dragon Slayer II, Vorkath can be fought again, but be cautious of his acid pool quickfire barrage, insta-kill vertical dragonfire, and suicide spawn attacks. Players can reclaim their items from Torfinn for 100, 000 coins upon death, but dying in unsafe locations will lose their items. Vorkath’s acid and dragonfire barrage is one of his most deadly attacks.

What is the best gear to fight Vorkath?

The dragon hunter lance is a highly effective melee weapon against Vorkath, with its passive effect damage and accuracy boosting stack with the Salve amulet (e) or Salve amulet(ei). Players should use Protect from Magic and wear the best melee armor to maximize ranged defense. Staying in melee range when dealing with specials increases the rate of ranged attacks and results in more damage taken overall. The Bandos godsword is superior to the dragon warhammer due to increased accuracy.

If your gear has a -65 magic attack bonus or less, your Crumble Undead will not hit. Prioritize defensive bonuses over strength bonuses if your trips are cut short by Vorkath’s normal melee and ranged attacks. Consistently higher kills per trip are more valuable than marginal damage gains. The +1 bonus of Obsidian platelegs may not work depending on your other equipment. Use the Slayer helm + rancour/torture if on task and not using the Salve amulet(ei) or Salve amulet(ei).

Does salve amulet work on hermod?

The undead slayer effect, including the salve amulet and the Undead Slayer perk, impacts Hermod, a phantom. Consequently, deathtouched darts are ineffective against him.

Is the Salve amulet worth it in OSRs?

The salve amulet (ei) is an upgraded version of the original salve amulet, which can be imbued into a salve amulet(ei) through the Nightmare Zone minigame. It costs 800, 000 points to imbue and has a protect value of 220, 000 coins. When imbued, it increases the wearer’s damage and accuracy in Ranged and Magic by 20 while attacking undead monsters. This boost works with melee in multi-combat zones, but only on the primary targeted opponent for magic and ranged attacks. The 20 strength and attack bonuses stack with the black mask’s 16. 67 strength and attack bonuses, but only the salve amulet’s bonuses are applied.

Does a salve amulet work for barrows?

It should be noted that the Salve Amulet is not compatible with the Barrows Brothers minigame, which is designed for intermediate to high-level players. The game offers valuable loot, including the most advantageous statistics for the Barrow’s equipment. Barrows is situated to the east of Mortality in the region of Lower Morytania. It is recommended that the map provided be used as a reference for guidance.

What to use against Barrows?

The use of magic is an effective method for combating the Barrows brothers; however, Ahrim is most vulnerable to ranged attacks and is more difficult to target without the assistance of Air spells or Tumeken’s Shadow. Strategies for traversing the distance to Barrows include the utilisation of a portal within a domicile owned by a player, which is linked to the teleportation system at Barrows. This necessitates the attainment of a Construction level of 50 or above. Additional strategies may include the utilization of Air spells or Tumeken’s shadow.

Is the Salve amulet better than the Slayer helm?

Is the Salve amulet better than the Slayer helm?

Slayer helmet vs. Salve amulet ( edit | edit source ). For players with undead Slayer assignments, the boosts given by the Salve amulet and its variants do not stack with the effects of a Slayer helmet. If a player owns the enchanted or enchanted-imbued Salve amulet, it may be worth it to switch to a better helmet and wear the amulet instead, since the amulet gives 20% accuracy and damage bonus, as opposed to the 16. 67% Melee and 15% Magic and Ranged boosts the helmet grants.

However, this 3. 33 – 5% margin from the Salve amulet may be less damage overall than if the player were to wear a different amulet with the Slayer helmet, as most helmets provide less offensive bonuses than comparable amulets. For example, the amulet of torture provides +10 Strength bonus, whereas a helm of Neitiznot only provides +3. Overall, the torture and Slayer helmet combination provides more damage output than a Salve amulet and helm of Neitiznot. This is also the case for the amulets of fury and glory, as well as the necklace of anguish and occult necklace for Ranged and Magic respectively.

Notably, the bonuses of the Salve amulet and its variants do stack with Void Knight equipment. This means that above certain levels, the Void set and Salve amulet have a greater damage output than a Slayer helmet and a torture/anguish/occult neckpiece at places such as ankou or Vorkath. This is not practical for aberrant spectres though, which will drain stats without a nose peg or Slayer helmet.

What does salve amulet work against?

The Salve amulet (ei) is an enchanted form of the salve amulet that increases the wearer’s accuracy and damage for melee, ranged, and magic attacks against undead monsters. It does not stack with the black mask and slayer helmet’s on-task bonuses, but the bonuses of Void Knight equipment do stack. The amulet’s effects apply to all targets when using multi-hitting melee weapons in a multicombat area, but not for multi-hitting magic and ranged attacks. If a player dies beyond level 20 Wilderness, the amulet is lost, but the player is refunded Nightmare zone points, Soul wars Zeal, or Scroll of imbuing.

  • Ehhh it’s not that different than what we knew. If you kill 6 brothers and 8 of any monster in the tunnels, that gives you 14 kill count and max rewards. I was always told to get 14kc when learning barrows way back in the day. Although it’s cool to know exactly how this works, I don’t think it changes anything. Cool article nonetheless.

  • So if anyone is curious to the actual drop rate of barrows items, from that formula: It means you have 1/102 chance of getting a barrows item each roll. As you have 6 rolls, the chance of getting at least an item is 1-((1-1/102)^6) = 0.00574. Which means you should get at least an item in every 17.42 chests, on average, which matches with the drop rates people usually get. (The drop rate is actually slightly higher than 1/17.42 as that does take into account double and triple chests, so it’s actually like 17.2, the number 1/17.42 is the chance that there will be at least 1 item each CHEST, not the chance of getting 1 item)

  • This is a nice look at the in depth calculation but overall its still the same as the old “get 14kc thing” by killing 8 of any monster + the brothers we got to the max combat levels combined and then looted the chest anyway, your just simplifying it, it’s nice to know that i can just kill 5 skeletons specifically every run to complete them now though. But it’s really no difference, I think in this 50 chests run you just got a lot more lucky with the “rng” of getting higher amounts of runes.

  • I think this article is a little bit misleading. According to his runes and Bolt Rack rewards compared to last year, he received roughly a 50% increase. Completing the Morytania Hard Achievement Diary tasks gives you an increase of 50% additional runes and Bolt Racks from the chest. I believe the additional profit you received was due to having completed that diary since your previous article. As someone said, acquiring a kill count of 11-14 would still yield the 1000 combat level cap needed. Even if you only killed the brothers and received the minimum amount of runes, you would still receive 75%+ of the maximum possible. There is no possible way that would account for a 50% increase in profit from looting them.

  • Getting 14 kc is still max rewards, the weakest monster u can kill to reach max added cb levels is 8 rats (8+6=14) so basically sometimes we were overkilling stuff when we already reached max cb levels. So basically your runes were rng (unless u used morytania legs this time and not last summer l0l). Atleast thats what I understood from the picture, that you need to kill monsters whos cb levels will add up to 880 for max runes and above that for chance at d med and keys

  • So based on the fact that 1 brother = 1 roll on the rare drop table, and the rare drop table contains all 24 pieces, even if you’re going for one particular set(iron man), it’s still wise to kill all 6 brothers for the maximum chance at gaining your missing pieces then? Given the fact that guthan could grant you an item, but its not guaranteed to be a guthan item? He could give you any item so long as you killed all 6?

  • This literally does not make a difference at all to the loot at 14 killcount. You have to kill max 8 creatures (the low level crypt rats), + the 6 brothers, which adds to 14 kills. If you are killing skeletons instead, killing 12 or 13 creatures (including brothers) is fine too now, but 14 is still good. So basically, you don’t neccesarily need 14 kc anymore, but you still need 14 kills if you want to be guaranteed of getting max loot, no matter which crypt creatures you kill

  • I don’t understand how this is more profitable. If you think about it, previously we got 14 kc. 6 brothers, + 8 random mix. And that still holds true. Because if you get the 6 brothers + 8 crypt rats, it gives max runes. SO, any combination of 8 mobs should give you max. And because people were getting 14 before off of a mix, there is literally no difference if people want to continue getting 14. The only way this is faster is if you only kill the skeleton tier mobs. And even then, rats die faster. So I honestly think this changes nothing and you simply had better rng this time.

  • ya also gatta realize prices changed so the only real thing here is the fact you got more runes not more cash in the end but i dont see why this is new.. even back in the day before rs3 was a thing or even close this drop table applied blood leaches added to more blood runes skellys added to more death runes and so on. they all carried the same weight up to a max of 1000.

  • If I understand correctly it shouldn’t make difference if you did barrows with 14 kc before and now are calculating the “Max method” because 14 kc will guarantee you the Max combat cap no matter what you kill. So in conclusion this time you just all runes rolls better which added up to big difference.

  • Does the order in which you kill the brothers affect the rate in which their respective pieces drop? For instance, killing dharok first would mean there’s a slightly higher chance of receiving an item from the dh set. The only reason I’m asking this is because of kieran’s formula on that image: 1/((450-58)*(#BrothersKilled)).

  • I think you made this article just to put something out there… but hey correct me if I’m wrong. from what I see let’s just say 5skeletons =5 right? + the 6 brothers = 11 kill count…. or the ones where you said you only need 7… well…. + the 6 brothers = 13…. so this article is pointless…. we already know we needed 11-14 kc.. what is different lmao….

  • First of all, you never mentioned the killcount you were looting the chest on in your first article. This had me looking up your other 50 barrows kc loot article, which unfortunately was not linked in your description. The killcount you used in that article was 13 for all chests shown on screen. This would mean that only if you killed specific low-health monsters 7 times together with the 6 brothers, you would not have the full 1012 on the counter for the item roll after you don’t get an armour piece on a roll. Now, these specific low-health monsters have too few hitpoints to have one less kill impact the counter so much that is goes below 880, meaning that you only lose the chance to get a d med or key parts and you won’t get the maximum amount of bolt racks. Because you are not able to get the d med or any key parts, the chance of getting runes should be higher. With the 13 kc, you will be above 880 on the counter, meaning that you will be able to get the maximum amount of runes. This leads me to believe that you would be getting more runes because you are not getting these other items. From this, I would think that your results in this article are heavily influenced by RNG because of the relatively small sample size. To me, it seems that you did not actually think about or understood what these numbers mean, and that you thought “max counter = max runes”, which is not true.

  • Yea but why would I waste my time doing morytania diaries or even doing barrows at all when I can kill skeletal wyverns. Great article but I was just thinking; “3.8m?” I made that tonight in about 5 hours on wyverns. Doubt I would make 3-4m in 5 hours of barrows even doing this method with morytania complete. Wyverns need to be 85 slayer this is just stupid.
