Is Anti-Chakra Visible To The Sharingan?

The Sharingan, a powerful eye-based jutsu unique to the Uchiha clan, is capable of seeing chakra, copy moves, and control others. It can see the entire chakra network, down to the fine capillaries and cells, and even smaller particles with Obito and Sasuke. Users can awaken its advanced form, known as the Sharingan or Copy Wheel Eye.

The Sharingan can summon Gedou Mazou, a statue capable of absorbing and storing Bijuu or using special chakra chains. By using Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki’s chakra, the Sharingan eyes can also become Rinnegan. When Sasuke obtains half of Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki’s chakra, his left eye becomes a Rinnegan.

The Sharingan sees chakra as color, and Genjutsu works off chakra, so it stands to reason that the built-in Genjutsu detection is actually chakra detection. However, it cannot see the tenketsu, even most Byakugan can’t see the chakra flow. The Sharingan gives color to chakra, allowing the wielder to differentiate between it and their presence.

The Sharingan can see chakra inside someone based on how it copies ninjutsu. It can see the chakra in the doton mines placed underground by Tobi. While the Sharingan can see the chakra pathway at a basic level, the Byakugan can see the entire chakra network.

In conclusion, the Sharingan is a powerful eye-based jutsu that can see chakra, copy moves, and control others. However, it cannot see the energy of nature or the flow of Senjutsu Chakra.

Does Sharingan work on non chakra users?

Jiraiya posits that genjutsu functions through the disruption of chakra, affecting the five senses. Although Kaguya is traditionally regarded as the first to possess chakra, alternative sources posit that this capacity is inherent to all living beings. Those characters based on a chakra-based framework, such as Shisui and Itachi, appear to lack an understanding of the concept of not having chakra.

Can the Byakugan see chakras?

The Byakugan ability, similar to X-Ray vision, allows Byakugan users to see the chakra pathway inside the human body. This ability is the foundation of the Hyuga Clan’s iconic Gentle Fist, which requires hitting specific points within the chakra pathway to block or release the flow of the chakra. Byakugan users can also recognize chakra signatures and ninjutsu activation, making them one of the few people who can detect when a Sharingan user uses a Genjutsu or when someone is under the influence of a genjutsu.

X-Ray vision can be used during combat and recon jobs, allowing Byakugan users to look inside enemy headquarters or detect objects within enemy bags. This ability is also the key component that enables Hyuga to execute their trademark Gentle Fist, a dangerous and effective technique that can incapacitate or even kill opponents.

Can Sharingan see tenketsu?

The Sharingan is capable of detecting the invisible aura of chakras; however, it is unable to discern the chakra pathway system or pin-sized chakra pressure points, which are known as tenketsu.

What can the Sharingan see?

The Sharingan is a dōjutsu kekkei genkai, one of the Three Great Dōjutsu, along with the Byakugan and Rinnegan. It is also known as “Heaven’s Eye” due to its numerous abilities.

The Sharingan’s abilities consist of two parts: the “Eye of Insight” (Dōsatsugan) and the “Eye of Hypnotism”. The first part allows the user to see the flow of chakra, giving color to it, allowing the wielder to differentiate between them. They can also tell if a person is under a genjutsu by their irregular chakra flow.

The Sharingan’s second most prominent ability grants the user incredible clarity of perception, allowing them to easily recognize genjutsu and different forms of chakra. They can memorize ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu with near-perfect accuracy, allowing them to use the techniques as their own or modify them to create new ones. However, they cannot reproduce techniques dependent on other factors, such as summons that the user has not signed a contract with.

The Sharingan’s final commonly-used ability is capable of inducing a unique brand of hypnosis that involves suggesting actions and thoughts to the opponent through genjutsu cast by simple eye contact between both parties. More advanced Sharingan users can take the hypnosis ability even further, even using powerful summons like Manda, where their eyes took on the tomoe pattern of the users’ Sharingan while under hypnotic influence.

What is the Sharingan’s weakness?

Mangekyou Sharingan, despite its greater potency than the Sharingan, cannot be employed indiscriminately, rendering it a substantial vulnerability within the established framework.

Can Rinnegan see chakra?

Can Rinnegan see chakra?

The Rinnegan is a powerful dōjutsu with enormous chakra and ocular power, capable of seeing chakra and its flow within the body. It can see through obstructions like smoke bombs and allows one to master any jutsu and all five basic nature transformations. The Rinnegan is the only dōjutsu able to fully decipher the Sage of Six Paths’ stone tablet.

One who wields the Rinnegan can utilize six abilities collectively known as the Six Paths Technique: controlling attractive forces with the Deva Path, mechanically altering one’s body with the Asura Path, extracting souls through the Human Path, summoning various creatures through the Animal Path, absorbing chakra through the Preta Path, and accessing the King of Hell through the Naraka Path. A seventh ability, called the Outer Path, allows the user to preside over life and death, revive the dead, transmit their chakra into black receivers, manifest chakra chains to bind tailed beasts, and create the Six Paths of Pain.

The Rinnegan grants a shared field of vision with their Six Paths of Pain, creatures summoned through the Animal Path, and the King of Hell, all possessing copies of the Rinnegan in their own eyes. The Rinnegan is the only means of breaking the seal placed on the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and summoning it, but cannot be summoned using a fake reincarnated Rinnegan.

Can Sharingan detect chakras?

Can Sharingan detect chakras?

The Sharingan is a powerful weapon that allows users to see chakra, detect irregularities in a person’s chakra flow, and have incredible clarity of perception. It can see fast-moving objects and even read enemy hand seals to gain insight into the technique’s nature. However, users need physical abilities to act on visual information, as they cannot reproduce kekkei genkai abilities or nature transformations they haven’t learned to perform.

The Sharingan can perform Genjutsu: Sharingan, which involves suggesting thoughts and actions to a target through eye contact. In extreme cases, the user can take complete control of the target’s body, forcing them to do exactly as the controller wishes. This control is visually indicated by the Sharingan’s design appearing in the target’s eye. The Uchiha are particularly infamous for using this ability on tailed beasts, which can enter their or a jinchūriki’s subconscious to more precisely control the beast’s chakra.

The Sharingan can also appear as if they are able to “see the future” by perfectly mimicking every move their opponent makes and possibly their thoughts and words through careful observation. They suggest an action, such as hand seals for a technique that the opponent and the Sharingan user already know and copy that, to complete the action even before the opponent does.

In addition to these abilities, the Sharingan can channel the user’s strong emotions to further increase their power. It allows access to two other jutsu: Izanagi, which allows the user to warp reality for a short time, changing reality into illusion and illusion into reality, thus escaping death and rewriting destiny; and Izanami, which traps the victim in an infinite loop disregarding the target’s five senses, specifically designed as a reprimand for those who would abuse Izanagi. Use of either ability causes the Sharingan with which it is performed to be blinded afterwards, and for that reason the Uchiha classified them as kinjutsu.

Why can’t Naruto have Sharingan?

The phenomenon of the Sharingan can only manifest in individuals with Uchiha DNA. Conversely, Kakashi has Hatake DNA, which means that his cells formed after healing by Naruto lack the necessary information for a Sharingan to develop. Naruto is unable to create matter in the same manner as Hagaromo.

Which eye is stronger than Sharingan?

The speaker posits that the Byakugan is superior to the Sharingan, particularly BASE Sharingan, on the grounds of its superior penetrating perceptive ability. Additionally, the speaker asserts that the Sharingan is inherently weaker due to its lack of variation.

  • The Sharingan was tool as it was first presented, as a tool in a ninja’s toolbelt. It was great to see Kakashi use it and pay the price. It was cool to see Sasuke awaken and refine his. It lost all of its appeal to me when they ignored its more “mundane” abilities like mapping chakra systems, deciphering jutsu for later use, and genjutsu amplification and just made it the equivalent of the Sword of Omens from “Thundercats.” Kishimoto has said himself that he got way too into the Uchihas and I fully believe that that obsession is what fueled a technique that was supposed to be “weaker than the Byakugan” ending up the equivalent of the Spirit Bomb from DBZ.

  • I think everything up until the 3 tomoe was pretty perfect: cool genjutsu, pre cognition, slight boost in power, jitsu copying. It’s strong but not godlike. The MS is fine too since it’s a (theoretically) rare power up. It was very strong but had a high cost. But the EMS, Susano and everything beyond was too much imo

  • I always thought it was weird that the sharingan was introduced to us as the user having the ability to copy any jutsu and I could be wrong but it seems like kakashi was the only one doing that and even eventually stopped doing it 😂 I always wanted to use awakening in the article games and have access to the opponent’s jutsu lol

  • Personally – like a lot of the audience – I thought the Sharigan was pretty cool for much of Naruto. Back then the Byakugan was set up as kind of rivalling it, and Rock Lee besting Sasuke during the Chunin Exam arc highlighted the kind of limitations the Sharingan could have. Then Shippuden came and Kishimoto just kept giving it more and more powers — rewriting reality, altering people’s entire personalities, omnipotent genjutsu with no counters. It felt very… Mary Sue-ish at that point, especially with the plot being almost entirely consumed by Uchiha.

  • in my opinion the sharingan should have mostly remained as its original conception with being able to copy jutsu and cast genjutsu. The mangekyo was cool as an evolved version of the sharingan but abilities like susanoo just blew the power scaling out of the water, especially when you get to perfect susanoo territory. I liked when it was a rival to the byakugan

  • The limitations of the Sharingan are what made it interesting, just like any ninja ability in the story. Having it constantly evolve to let the Uchiha do whatever Kishimoto needed them to led it to be ultimately meaningless as an in-universe power, since it had essentially no rules or real weaknesses, and turned it into another clumsy plot device.

  • Personally, I think that the Sharingan was Made stupid the MOMENT that the Mangyeko Came into the Picture, it completely Disregarded the ENTIRE Concept of the Ability… At the start of the Series, the Sharingan is presented to us as being “Completely Busted” because of the BASE abilities that it gives it’s user: Perfect Perception of anything in their Line of sight, a Passive Genjutsu effect to anyone locking eyes with, and the ability to Instantly Copy any Standard Jutsu that you See… These 3 Abilities on their own Were Fun, they were Unique compared to the other characters in the series, and if used PROPERLY, were REALLY Freakishly Strong. The Sharingan didn’t NEED Anything more than that, it was not Necessary to give it more abilities since those abilities ON THEIR OWN Give a MASSIVE potential for Growth for the Characters that have it. Case and Point, the Chidori is an Ability that in and of itself has NOTHING to do with the abilities the Sharingan gives, but that can’t Be used without a Sharingan’s Boosted Perception ability to compensate for how Chidori Blinds you. Chidori itself isn’t a Sharingan ability, but the Sharingan is Required to use it. Why aren’t there more abilities like this? Why aren’t the Uchiha Making Jutsu that can ONLY be Properly Performed with a Sharingan, but that don’t TECHNICALLY Require it to be Activated? That Right there is an Avenue of Gaining power that SHOULD have been Used for the Uchihas. The other thing they get is what Kakashi does, Copy EVERY Jutsu you come across to boost the Versatility of your Kit to an Absolute Monstrous Level, Being able to Pull a Hundred Different Powers out of nowhere is a HUGE advantage to Keep your Opponents off Guard, Combine that with the Perfect Perception and the Build in Genjutsu that Slows opponent’s Reflexes and it becomes Deady!

  • I always understood that Obito’s sharingan was close ranged (Not just personal) and Kakashi’s is long ranged. Obito has taken other’s into the dimension but doesn’t have the long range capabilities as Kakashi. Meanwhile, Kakashi can do long range kamui but ALSO when he used it on himself to transfer out of the dimension he is seen putting his hand over his eye. If we think of Kakashi’s kamui as a bullet going through the air teleporting what ever it hits, he simply hit his hand in front of his eye and extended it to his entire body. As for why he never went INTO the dimension before, up until the fight with Obito he has been using this ability to attempt to one-shot people. He might not have the knowledge that wherever it goes afterwards is safe until he was forced in there by Obito. As for how Kakashi can use a perfect susanoo without going through the other stages is I believe the susanoo has two requirements independent of eachother. 1. two eyes simultaneously in order to manifest one and 2. an experienced MS. Essentially while Obito couldn’t manifest a susanoo with one eye, his MS still gained quite a bit of experience (Or matured) as Hashirama cells kept repairing it and he never got to a point of blindness where he could no longer advance it like Itachi. Therefore when throw both eyes into Kakashi with the maturity / experience Obito achieved with his MS you are left with Kakashi being able to bypass all levels to a perfect susanoo.

  • My personal issue with the Sharingan is how over-used it is. It started out as just an eye that could copy Jutsu, predict opponents moves and, to a limited extend, cast Genjutsu. Powerful, sure, but still limited. Now it can evolve to a second level, giving access to broken, overpowered abilities like summoning a giant chakra warrior, create flames immune to water, teleport around the world and even brainwash entire nations. It was getting way too ridiculous, and all the other Dojutsus, like the Byakugan and the Rinnegan, where basically just cast aside, especially when it was also revealed that the Sharingan can turn into a Rinnegan. I prefer the Sharingan as it was originally introduced.

  • The Sharingan was good at the beginning but then everything began to go downhill after the Eternal Mangekyou was introduced, the Eternal version broke the balance of those eyes and the power scale rised up to the space. Powers in any media need to be balanced or else they become ridiculous to the point were the author can just make up whatever he wants and say “This was possible from the start, Don’t like it? Though sh1+” and we can only take it even if is absurd, the Sharingan was great but then it became the equivalent of the games i played as a kid, games that were basically “There! i shot you with my finger gun and you´re dead” “Nuh uh, your bullet bounced into me because i’m Robocop”, that’s what the Sharingan became, just a plot device that worked however Kishimoto wanted so he could move the story forward.

  • The Sharingan was bearable when it was just “Extreme Perception” just the power to see tiny details and to have high reaction time. But from a writing standpoint it became a symbol of the writer making every nation other than the Leaf Village perpetually less and less important which ironically makes the world feel less and less important as more and more non-elemental KKG are being given as parts of Sharingan leaving one clan with lion share of ‘special powers’ that arnt just ‘element x + element y’ which ends up making the other nations feel hollow as the focus increasingly became ‘Behold the leaf village and its eternal reincarnating god battle’

  • Going back 10 years or so, the general belief on many of the forums was that the sharingan was being inflated by the publisher influence. The way I always interpreted the sharingan was that it was an eye which could see high amounts of detail without needing to adjust focus and which was just faster in terms of reaction speed. That it allowed for some powerful genjutsu if you looked into it was a bit kooky, but eyes can be seen as captivating and a window into the soul, so, it worked. When it started getting weird was when it stopped being an advanced eye and started to become green rocks that allowed for invoking the gods. This seemed to be the influence of the publishers/editors, who initially wanted the sasuke/naruto rivalry and who thus wanted more sharingan merchandising deals. Narratively, you could basically replace Sasuke with Neji and you’d have a similar plot up through the chuunin arc with the b-line being actual interaction between Naruto and Hinata. This was an extremely obvious point to me when I was looking at the concept art for the series. Sasuke was not in the picture and both Hinata and Neji appeared. Sakura was not in the picture, either. The entire arc up to the chuunin exams, as Kishimoto envisioned it, was one where the rivalry was between Neji and Naruto. The editors really, really wanted a showdown between Naruto and Sasuke for that arc, but Kishimoto wrote Naruto swearing over Hinata’s blood and beating the natural genius – restoring order to a troubled family.

  • I personally liked the concept of the sharingan At least as portrayed initially in the first arc Where it was a trump card very heavy on chakra consumption that made user able to copy or slightly anticipate their opponents The fight with zabusa in particular We were fed the lore of the 3 ocular powers with the sharingan being ranked below the byakugan(they did not even had the whole seal to prevent theft) and a misterious 3rd power (the rinnegan) about which at the time we knew literally nothing The problem is that the sharingan kept ammaiante insane power up and perks Like controlling the tailed beast Then we were introduced with itachi with the awakened sharingan And from there pure insanity Amaterasu a unstoppable ranged black flame cast by vision Tsukuyomi a perfect illusory art Sudano a weird giant armour than make the user nearly invulnerable and greatly extend their attack power Perfect susanoo A skyscraper like giant armour with the power to go fight on equal terms with failed beast and able to cut mountains Izanami and izanagi Basically a reset button to cheat death or able to imprison your opponent in a loop At that point the only thing the sharingan could not do was preparing breakfast

  • Sharingan is like if the design team for an MMO decided to just keep adding features onto one class and buffing it, maybe occasionally nerfing and reworking certain features and making a surprised Pikachu face when that class proceeds to outscale other classes, yet being strangely inconsistent in certain scenarios.

  • I think the Kamui could be explained through the particular way they “misuse” it. Kakashi uses his but puts his hand out in front of his face and maybe uses kamui on his hand to teleport himself into the kamui dimension. And then obito makes contact with Kakashi with his hand then uses his kamui to teleport himself and kakashi as he’s making contact with him?

  • Honestly my main issue with the sharingan is how its ridiculously powerful base ability of basically combat future sight isn’t at all expanded on with the mangekyo abilities. There feels like absolutely no through line in abilities between base sharingan and mangekyo except for Tsukuyomi and the base sharingan genjutsu, which doesn’t have a name and just generally feels extremely hand wavey in that “the sharingan genjutsu just kind of does whatever we need it to in the moment. Whether that be sleep, paralysis, mind control, sending information, hallucination, etc.”

  • I think the mangekyou was peak sharingan writing wise. Not the eternal mangekyou, the regular one, where youre so limited, YOU also are terrified, in a sense, when you have to use it, cause you’re trading your vision (and your visual powers altogether). The eternal concept was really cool at first, but really turnt out terribly. Not only that, but Obito really had eternal without having it. Sasuke used his mangekyou and soon after almost went blind, whilst Obito teleported left and right all the time. The horror of seeing a mangekyou alone felt like the peak of power, bc it was supposed to be a life or death. All the rinnesharigan/6 tomoe rinne/whateverthefuck sharingan always leaved me indifferent. I liked the rinegan by itself, specifically Pain’s, cause it was such a cool, unique, mysterious concept. After that, meh.

  • Giving the deuterogonist an ocular power, whose rules and powers could be changed and used as a deu ex machina, was just one of the many problems of this manga, which I have a soft spot for. The other was to give us an expanded cast of characters, with interesting abilities, and then proceed to waste them spectacularly post time skip. The latter os hardly a naruto exclusive problem, but still.

  • Great article. A topic that a lot of people ignore but when it evolved into this “it can do whatever the script needs” thing it became stupid. I honestly always hated the fact that they can control Tailed Beasts effortlessly (which in the own universe narrative, you use chackra to break out the genjutsu, and you have beings that are literally giant things made of chackra not being able to do it)

  • The Sharingan and by extension all superpowers are interesting because of their limitations. If it allows the user to read an opponent’s movements what are the broader applications. Discovering that it allows the user to copy jutsu is really cool. Does it detect lies, traps, Genjutsu? The constant evolution of the Sharingan takes away from that excitement and potential exploration. The MS, on the other hand, only works with the idea that you must sacrifice your closest connection Aztec style. It being some kind of perverse, Dark-side, Sith form of the Sharingan. Something only a heartless killer would have, someone who massacred their family out of spite or a desire for ultimate power.

  • I feel like things would have been more balanced if they 1) kept it so that, in order to evolve the Sharingan, you have to do something so heinous that it cuts you off from humanity forever and 2) if they’d given other Hiden Jutsu and Bloodline techniques similar amps. Remember how, in Part 1, the Byakugan was seen as better than the Sharingan? Yeah, Pepperidge Farm remembers. But seriously, it’s like “Oh, your eye lets you see a little into the future and copy ninjutsu? Well mine lets me shut down your entire ability to use the magic system.” The Byakugan was better than the Sharingan in Part 1. The problem is that it didn’t keep up. It didn’t get the ridiculous evolutions that the Sharingan did. No other technique evolved like the Sharingan did, and Kishimoto retconned it so the Mangekyou didn’t require the most heinous act imaginable to acquire and more people got access to it, with the result being that you have to wonder how the Uchiha didn’t just conquer the entire world since they’re so ridiculously unbalanced.

  • The way it was originally depicted when Kakashi debuted it in the Zabuza fights was really cool and was honestly OP enough. It was NEVER depicted in that way again and it’s a shame. I went back last year and rewatched Naruto from the beginning and I completely forgot that it was originally made to copy jutsus.

  • Another plothole (or bad writing) is how good Sasuke got with his sharingan without a mentor. He had stamina issues, much like his brother, so I find it hard to believe he was able to automatically use the sharingan in a short time without being confused. I get his basically a reincarnated god but still… lazy writing. This further enforces the idea that Sasuke should have stayed with Team 7 and kept training with Kakashi.

  • I’m glad you talked about this. When it comes to Sasuke’s Sharingan, I knew this would be a problem when Sasuke lost his Rinnegan. We all know that the point of Sasuke losing his Rinnegan is to put him in the same boat as Naruto without Kurama so Boruto era shinobi can take the lead as the new main power class. Kishimoto’s plan to weaken Sasuke doesn’t work the same like Naruto due to this. In truth, Sasuke’s nerf should have been far more significant than Naruto. Sasuke would have lost his Rinnegan, Amaterasu, and Susanoo. As for Izanagi, right on all parts. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve commented on various articles about Sasuke and his lost Rinnegan and arm, where I had to bring up that Sasuke could have and should have used Izanagi. Izanagi is too good of a jutsu for the series because Sasuke could have saved his Rinnegan if he had used it. Imagine after the entire fight with Boruto and everything cools down, Sasuke uses Izanagi to get his Rinnegan back. He then goes to Orochimaru to have him make a clone Sharingan replacement for him. And now that you’ve brought it up, why hasn’t Sasuke gone to Orochimaru to at least TRY to get his Rinnegan back?

  • Thank you so much for giving your dog love on screen! I hate seeing youtubers’ pets in the background who never get attention or mentioned (maybe because the youtuber can’t multitask like that or doesn’t want to waste time). It’s so weird! Plus, it’s hilarious to see it and you still not talk about it while they’re in your lap taking up half the screen. The best jokes are ones that don’t have to be explained. Plus, your dog is so cute!!!<333

  • I was always under the impression that Izanagi could only change things that happened after its activation. We saw Danzo have to keep activating it against Sasuke before then getting hit. Obito could have activated before Konan’s explosion actually went off. Madara had it prepped before his fight. It becomes much less broken of a concept if you assume this is how it works. Otherwise, couldn’t Sasuke even now years later replace his missing eye and arm? Even if the eye would only be a normal one or base sharingan. The fact that he doesn’t seems to prove Izanagi can’t affect the past before its activation.

  • There was a moment in the war arc (I believe it was only in the anime because I don’t remember it in the manga) where it showed Kakashi and Obito’s vision syncing up. I always interpreted that as him being able to use the abilities in Obito’s eyes as well. I can’t say for sure that that was Kishimoto’s intention but it feels like that was inferred. So it’s not really them using Kamui from Kakashi’s eye but them pairing with Obito’s eye and activating Kamui through it.

  • Also for Madara and his brother not thinking about swapping eyes I am pretty sure no one knew about the EMS. His brother gave Madara his eyes because they weren’t used as much and weren’t as blind as Madara’s. It just so happened that doing that unlocked a new stage of power above what the accepted peak was.

  • I was just rewatching the fight where Madara stomps the alliance, and I noticed something. Gaara also has the ability to rip somebody right out of their Susano’o, he pulled Madara out of his with his sand like it was nothing. While it is arguable that Madara’s Susano’o was not complete in that scene, let’s not forget that Sasuke withstood a blow that should’ve killed him multiple times over. Using just the ribcage. It was presented like Isshiki pulling Sasuke out of Susano’o was some big thing, but you don’t even have to be an Ohtsutsuki to do that.

  • I have always thought that sharingan was so many times used as a cheap way to get the plot in the direction the writer wanted to go and never was true to the rules stated previously in the universe, I’m glad that you address this, as you obviously know more than me and I would never be able to explain all the points that are not consistent and the ones that have some good explanation in the manga, haven’t read all of it recently so no way I know all about it, great work on this one Nick

  • My guess for how kakashi and Obito can use the others eye power is because the eyes are linked in sets even if not attached to the same person. Having one of the two eyes let’s you access both if the other is near by, and since kakashi was in the kamui dimension (a single dimension created by their eyes together) he was technically in range to access obitos power.

  • I think why Sasuke can still use his Amaterasu on his Kagutsutchi’s eye is that the Kagutsutchi has the same properties with Shisui’s MS where it varies on power and CD. but in Sasuke’s case He can use the Amatrerasu on the Right eye but it’s smaller in scale and not that potent to create larger flames compared to his actual Amaterasu eye, the six tomoe rinnegan. Love the vids! <3

  • my issue with Sharingan is the massive gaping plot hole that their missuse (and the missuse of Byakugan) created. Like, when you know how genjutsu works, you understand why sharingan facilitate it’s use and why both eyes should be immune to it. Like, when you realise that Byakugan and Sharingan should counter each others (one can copy the techniques of the other and the other can lock all techniques of the first). Like, when Kishi created new abilities out of his ass to write himself out of the corner he wrote himself in, which caused the biggest corner in which he wrote himself in, which needed a cosmic being to curbstomp the corner and clear the slate for continuing the story. (yeah, more abilities to the Sharingan = more power to Obito and Madara, thus this led to the Kaguya arc which came out of nowhere) The worst part of this kind of ideas, is that when you begin unraveling that, it also shows more and more plot holes and writing mistakes, that needed more and more BS to resolve… Simply put, in my mind : Sharingan is a very interesting tool that was so badly used it destroyed the entire story.

  • I would have loved for them to have treated the ms just like another stage of the sharingan, kinda like getting another tomoe. You get access to some new jutsu, tracking gets better blah blah, cool. I think making each one have crazy and unique abilities, though a really cool concept, introduced a really easy way for plot convenience.

  • The issue I have with the Sharingan (aside from being inconsistent) is how it’s used. What I mean is how illogically it is implimented in that world. For example, why weren’t the Uchiha in control of the Leaf? It makes no sense in that world to not have the strongest faction ruling, and the Sharingan is lethal to an absolute. Why wasn’t Sasuke used as a breeding bull to replenish the Village of their most powerful weapon? Why was the Leaf willing to lose their last Sharingan and Uchiha, possibly to an enemy, by allowing him to become a shinobi? When Orochimaru learned to create them in Boruto, why doesn’t EVERYONE use them? Then of course there are nonsensical abilities like the Susanoo. If it was simply something Itachi made, like originally explained, that would be one thing. But that was retconed to it being an ability of the MS any user could have. Why? What makes a dojutsu impressive and so dangerous is how subtle it is. With the Sharingan, a single look can copy abilities/skills, cast or resist genjutsu, and burn away anything. Creating giant suits of ghostly armor doesn’t fit with that at all. No ninja would use such an ability. You literally lose all subtly and turn yourself into a giant target. Hightened visuals/copying for utility, genjutsu and Kamui for defense, and amatarasu for offense. Perfect. Giant ghost armor. Why? Because it looks cool.

  • Sometimes I imagine that sage of six paths chakra is just creation of all things chakra, which is a yin-yang release that requires mastery over all chakra natures but is infact learnable. I often wonder if mastering creation of all things could allow Sasuke to activate his other rinnegan, allow naruto to revive kurama and allow Kakashi to regain the power of his lost sharingan.

  • Kakashi can and could always enter the Kamui dimension. His ability works by creating a vortex that splits the boundaries between dimensions and allows objects through, as explained in his fight against Deidara. Nothing in this description is stopping him from creating a vortex and stepping through or creating a vortex around himself. He just doesn’t have intangibility so he can’t just teleport the part of his body away that’s about to be hit by an attack. At least not without ripping a gaping hole into his body.

  • Yes, Sharingan was Mistake TM! Sharingan and Byakugan were already incredibly powerful in the first part of the anime- any ninja who was resourceful and had some brain matter could defeat anyone with just those powers. Sharingan and Bijuu symbolise a very common problem among shounen anime- power creep. As much as I love the first few arcs in Bleach and Naruto, it was mostly power creep that made me stop perusal them. I don’t want to watch more pretty lights and numbers climbing, I want to watch characters taking what they have and making it count. It could be traps, it could be teamwork, it could be clever tactics, but god damn give me a reason to care about what characters do. I believe this is why Shikamaru for all his faults is so popular in the Naruto fandom.

  • 16:12 Something else is that maybe Kishimoto did that so we wouldn’t figure out he’s obito because we’d seen Kakashi’s mangekyo eye alr and since him being Obito was a big plot point he probably couldn’t show it because we see obito giving his eye to Kakashi pre timeskip in the manga in I’m pretty certain the last chapter before the timeskip

  • I like the part where you explained why the sharingan was a mistake, in contrast to the part where you talked about how there are a lot of plot holes in the way the sharingan evolves through the course of the series. The first implies that there is something inherently wrong with the idea of the Sharingan that significantly detracted from what Naruto could have been without it. The second is simply pointing out ways in which an otherwise good idea and important plot device was used poorly in specific instances.

  • just another reason why i feel kishimoto focused to heavily on uchihas and not put any development into other clans, the show was called naruto for crying out loud yet of all the clans we barely got anything on the uzumaki clan itself. imagine getting an arc were naruto travels to the ruins of uzushio to uncover his roots. could have had a cool showing of awesome uzumaki style techniques and abilitys

  • “Sharingan Resonance” could be a cool mechanic or piece of lore, where two Sharingan owners’ abilities intermingle in some way, provided: 1. They’re extremely “close” in some way, both in terms of emotional connection (hatred included) and physical location. 2. The abilities are similar somehow. This could even be the same person, provided they have strong enough emotions towards themselves (self-hatred, self-determination) and their eyes have the “same” ability, just expressed in different ways, like Obito and Shisui. You could also omit the second requirement above in the event it is the same person, allowing them to use both abilities in both eyes (and retain them if one eye is lost). All that said, as it stands, yeah, those things you mentioned regarding sharingan abilities are almost definitely just plotholes.

  • If we’re being honest obito’s eye technically has multiple abilities slipping part of his body into the kamui dimension, and then being able to suck things nearby into and pull thing from that some dimension. The. When we see him with both eyes he can open portals to kaguya dimension. And I’m pretty sure we all glossed over the fact he was using the eye to teleport as stated by zetsu during the aftermath of the sasuke and itachi fight.

  • Sadly, Naruto is just not a well written series. It has some awesome moments and I still love it, but the writing is a mess that starts out as small cracks, but the further you get into Shippuden the wider and more blatant they get The sad thing is, it doesn’t actually become lower quality. Naruto always had the problems that become worse later, but early on we knew less so they were acceptable as they weren’t yet retcons I still think the Elemental Jutsu system is one of the best magic system concepts that was fumbled terribly

  • Kakashi using Kamui to warp himself out of the Kamui dimension is pretty easy to explain in my eyes. Kakashi has the range Kamui and can control the sice of it – like he did with the Deidara clone. To jump out of the Kamui dimension, he can simply use Kamui right in front of him and make it big enough to warp himself out.

  • The kamui one isn’t a plothole because what Kakashi did wasn’t getting himself intangible but only leaving the kamui dimension. For example, Obito could enter the kamui dimension in various ways, like sinking into the ground, but both Kakashi and later Madara had to create a vortex and that isn’t tied to intangibility. Also, Obito could create a vortex to suck things into kamui, but he needed to touch said things first and that remains true to this day.

  • Glad to know I’m not alone in this take. Anyone who I’ve spoken to about Naruto knows how passionate I am about this exact topic. I seriously think the Mangekyo sharingan and Rinnegan are big mistakes. When it was just the regular sharingan and byakugan, they were easily amongst the best aspects of Naruto because they were enhancing vision in some way. Every Dojutsu ability that is to do with enhancing vision in some way I am a big fan of. But What Kishimoto did with the mangekyo and Rinnegan are genuinely amongst the worst inclusions in the series. That’s not me saying they aren’t cool, but I think it was a huge mustake to give these dojutsu such broken abilities. The casual eye swapping in the war is easily one of my least favourite aspects of the show, but was kind of inevitable due to how useful those abilities are. There’s so much more I could get into as well. I could honestly do a TED talk on this topic. That’s how strongly I feel about it. Props for making a article on it.

  • I think the Sharingan would be fine if it was just for genjutsu and copying other people’s jutsu. Once we started getting the Mangekyou Sharingan and all those ridiculously OP jutsu (Kamui, Koto, Amaterasu, Perfect Susanoo, etc.) is when it started getting excessive. And after the Rinnegan got introduced things got even more out of hand. And I’m not even going to bring up all those wankingan variations in Baruto.

  • I’m just gonna assume that Obito’s mask casts a genjutsu that causes outside viewers to perceive it as a base sharingan, considering MS was achieved at Rin’s death, Madara might have compensated for this and taught him a jutsu that puts all viewers under a genjutsu that limits their perception, something like a transformation jutsu. After the mask was broken and identity was revealed, there was no need to maintain the jutsu, plus Madara was running around so questions started to be asked leading up to the real suspicions. The precedent is not unheard of in the series, the Uchicha tablet has a veiling effect that is only revealed when viewed with a Sharingan. His mask was designed in a particular way in both it’s iterations. His eye is veiled by some sort of jutsu.

  • A few things: 1. Obito is shown teleporting himself with Kamui several times throughout the show. Like, so often that I’m kind of surprised you think it’s “unprecedented”. 2. A very simple explanation for Izanagi and Izanami is that you still have to LEARN how to use them. In fact, Izanami’s very existence delves into this. As explained by Itachi in his and Sasuke’s fight against Kabuto, the Uchiha WERE abusing Izanagi, that’s why Izanami was created in the first place. The only way to break out of Izanami was for the Uchiha abusing Izanagi to genuinely come to agree that abusing it was bad, and genuinely intend to stop doing so. After this point, it can be assumed that the information on how to use Izanagi was withheld from everyone save for a few select people. How are those people selected? Well, we’re not given that information, because frankly, it’s not really relevant to the story.

  • i think its more easier to explain it like being proficent with your right hand; i.e being born right handed you can write with your right but some people can train themselves to write with both hands. I imagine its like that here where with enough training/conjoined vision you can use the certain abilites regardless of the eye it originated from. Kakashi/Obito probably already felt as though they could do what the other’s eye could do however it wasnt untill both eye synced and they shared vision did that feature truly become accessible to them as their both seasoned ninjas

  • Sasuke using Amaterasu after losing the left eye might be an EMS thing that with EMS you can use both abilities in either eye. As for the Kakashi/Madara using Kamui to get into the dimension plot hole, I always understood his eyes ability as opening a portal to the dimension that sucks nearby objects/creatures into the dimension so I never saw that as a plot hole I just assumed he opened a portal a little closer to himself. DMS Kakashi having a full body Susanoo may have been because he also got the rest of Obitos Sage of Six Paths chakra but again all of these are just head canon hand waves to explain something that wasn’t explained 😛

  • In regards to Sasuke using Amaterasu, if you look up which eye Itachi used for it, the answers vary, but most sources say right. So because their eyes melded, Sasuke’s right eye combined with Itachi’s right can use Amaterasu and Kagatsuchi. While Sasuke’s left EMS was capable of Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. So basically Sasuke had a spare when it comes to Amaterasu

  • I feel like it has to do with the Yin chakra, being from the mind. Like if you think the chakra happening differently, and have the right combination of things, you get a similar result. Like if you really focus, you can through a ball with your opposite hand, and it still be thrown, just not as good as if you had used your dominant hand

  • 15:05 Theory that can solve the plot holes. The sharingans ability to copy jutsu allows an M.S./E.M.S. user to use the ability in either eye if they can/have witnessed the ability being used, but only if their eye possesses the genetics for it to work. I.E. Sasuke saw Itatchi using Amaterasu, and Tsukuyomi, but only could copy Amaterasu to use in the other eye because that’s the only ability he has the genetics for, which we know since that’s a power he naturally awakened. Likewise the 2 Kamui eyes would share the exact same genetics since they came from the same person. Basically basing this off the idea that there isn’t a gene for “left eye” and “right eye” it’s just your “eyes” so both eyes would hold the potential to unlock either ability, they just only unlock one when they do naturally. As for why Itatchi could use the same ability in one eye…. I dunno… he Tsukuyomi’d himself as a form of self punishment for the massacre? 🤷‍♀ It’s a theory, it’s not exactly rock solid, but I think you get where I’m coming from yea? !6:52 Genjutsu, it’s a genjutsu. He’s making it appear like the normal one.

  • The longer a shonen manga exists, the more continuity and consistency issues come about. Part of this is that the writers don’t plan everything from beginning to end, they make things up as they go because they draw what they like and think is cool. Another part is the increasing power levels that go from clever planning and bare knuckle fist fights to asspulls, plot armor, and beyond god level feats. These fights are a spectacle of style over substance. Great to look at, but hard to accept as competent story telling.

  • Don’t remember if it was in the manga, but they did kinda show a loophole in the anime with kakashi focusing that kamui on himself going with the idea of he needs to see what he sends away with kamui and he was looking at himself. Would have been more logical if they went with a kage bunshin, then have the kage bunshin use kamui on the original to escape, but i digress.

  • The problem is that it wasn’t limited in power and scaled proportionately so it could keep a more consistent story line seriously when people are referring to the Sharigan the legend would gone along as “it varies from one user to another…”. I like the fact initially when using it caused fatigue which makes sense as it requires some kind of power/energy and scaling could easily be explained as fatigue (this way Kakashi’s faster fatigue now makes sense over a natural born Uchiha user) or using special features (mangakyo) knocked it out for a while (it temporarily damages the used eye, and it requires time to heal for example but if used too long or pushed beyond the usual then the possibility of permanent eye sight loss). The other problem with it was had variety even though it’s supposedly genetically heritable yet it differed in ability when reached to it’s ultimate evolution instead of just scaling the power overall unlike how all the other kekigenkai each user (for example Byakugan) all users had the same ability due to the factor from that genetics. The stupidest plot hole imho is that if you pull the eye out of a relative after activating yours to it’s max evol, you keep your ability but it now want ever go blind with extended usage… this doesn’t make sense, you should be inheriting the skill set of the guy you took the eye from instead.

  • Speaking of Kamui… what if the left eye can send anything you see into the Kamui dimension while the right eye requires contact but allows for subconscious intangibilty? Kakashi never uses it to send himself back and forth from that other dimension, because it requires line of sight, so intangibility is off the table and there’s no guarantee he can come back without testing it. Once Obito sends him there, there’s no reason not to try getting out, but sending himself would be stupidly risky without the knowledge that he’d even survive the trip. From the clips you’ve used, it appears Obito is touching (or could be touching) the things he sends. Also, his clothes, mask and other gear are also sent, so it was never a self-only ability. Maybe there’s an instance of him sending something at range that I missed or forgot about? (It might even be that if they’re close enough he can touch them with his *chakra*. That stuff is part of him, right?) I guess the eye considers his body parts to still be touching him, even across dimensions, also, which is kind of a stretch, but if we consider that the Kamui could be some sort of a mirror dimension that itself is touching the real world therefore providing him enough of a link to himself (the parts probably still have his chakra in them, if we’re using that explanation, as well).

  • Another idea for how Sasuke could still use Amaterasu; Perhaps the Eternal MS allows the user to wield both abilities in both eyes? We know obtaining the Eternal MS removes the restrictions on the ability (namely the loss of eyesight), so what if it also means you can use your MS abilities regardless of your physical condition? This would help explain a few of the inconsistencies since Madara and Sasuke are the only examples of Eternal MS users in the series. Madara can use Susano’o without eyes because that ability isn’t cast directly with the eyes. As for Sasuke, Amaterasu has to be cast from the eye (because that’s how the Jutsu is applied), but he can do so with either eye thanks to the Eternal MS’ restriction removal. That’s just my theory, but it makes the most sense to me. There are two examples of Eternal MS users and they both slightly break the rules of the MS.

  • I always interpretated the gaining of EMS as murging the eyes abilities. With how they represented it with that big four eyed dude I figured Sasuke put Itachi’s Amatarasu eye in the side that controled it, thus merging the powers of said eye. This would mean that the only sharingan specific ability he might have lost besides maybe So’osano would be Itachi’s Tsyokoyomi. I tried googeling it but it wasnt very clear.

  • The right eye gets the subconscious ability because that’s the side of him that was crushed and subconsciously he slipped through part of the boulder being the only reason he didn’t die immediately. Just I learned from your website the eyes take on personality traits of the user shaped by their experiences.

  • Danzo shows the effect of Izanagi and dead body Itachi shows the effect of Izanami. Itachi explains the effects to Sauske in the 4th War when dealing with Kabuto. So it’s already explained in why it’s not used often. (again if this has been nerfed etc in Boruto then oh well, I’ll stick to the OG information) Both of their eyes in essence “died” (I use air quotations as being blind is essentially the death of an eye as it’s no longer functionally usable) Danzo’s arm of eyes each one of them closed shut permanently. For Itachi his eye went literally white blind. That’s is probably why no Uchiha used either ability.

  • I havent read the manga, just saw the anime. I think that the sharingan does have some blatand issues but the core idea was pretty good. Because we all know what a base sharingan is able to do from what we see on the first part of Naruto. For example being able to see in like a slowmo version of the world but then you are able to copy others moves because we see kakashi copying Zabusa’s moves but Kakashi had a perfect view of his entire body yet we see Sasuke in the chunnin exams copying the moves of the hand of someone that he is not able to see the hand of. Then it allows to copy the jutsu of other people but i think that it doesnt work like that, just allows someone to learn by seeing the jutsu being performed and the chakra flow, how that jutsu is made allowing them to learn it. But then… From where did it come that you could see chakra flow. There are situations in which the Sharingan gets so much things from other things that starts to become an issue. OK, you can see in slowmo, good. Then you can see chakra flow. Ok, we are getting a little off but nothing so crazy. Then it comes the fight against Deidara in which Sasuke pulls a total BS move. Somehow that Sharingan adquired abilities that we saw where? In the byakugan. Sudendly Sasuke is able to see the small micro bombs that are on his blood flow. I get seeing the chakra and chakra flow of another, but there it sudendly did a Byakugan move because the Sharingan never was able to work like a microscope at least as far as i remember.

  • Maybe obito not activating MS before the reveal is supposed to be assumed he did and was drawn purposely to not spoil it. Like how in OP the haki is supposed to be invisible but we see the black armorment in the anime so we can know its happening. I don’t remember but did obito use kamui directly in front of kakashi before reveal? Because kakashi may be the only one who would recognize the pattern. It mightve just looked like another random sharingan to someone like guy so that’s how it was drawn for us to see when guy was fighting him

  • A EMS user has 4 eyes. So Madara has stil 2 eyes for using Susanoo after losing 2 eyes (No Nose Jutsu). Same rule for Sasuke for Amaterasu. Itashi’s Amaterasu is in the eye he has left. For Kakashi he can send something to the Kamui Dim of every distance so he can probably send himself to it and in it send something out (But his Susanoo don’t make sense). Obitos Kamui can send something he touch to the other Dim like he tried with Minato.

  • I think Kamui is better explained by not oversimplifying the description of its ability. Obito could slip his body into the dimension OR create a vortex centered on the eye itself to fully suck up anything he is in contact with, including his own body. Its flaws being that you can’t vortex and slip at the same time, plus the vortex sucks up the whole thing. This is kind of 2 separate abilities though, but realistically it doesn’t seem impossible to think that they are the same ability, just a different expression of Kamui, being either the application of Kamui onto your body, or the concentration of it into a single point. Kakashi had a purely ranged vortex ability, he could create the vortex anywhere he could see, and it sucked in whatever it sucked in. This does also mean though he could expend extra chakra to create a larger vortex centered on his own body to suck in his own whole body. He isn’t using some separate ability, he is just using the same ability but in a different manner. He simply never thought it was possible or safe to do so on himself until he learned about Obito going into and out of the dimension. It was only after he learned Obito’s vortex teleport was Kamui that he learned it wasn’t going to instantly kill someone if they got fully sucked in.

  • 1 tomoe sharingan :most uchiha unlock it not automatic but useful in prediction 2 tomoe sharingan: can be activated on their own strong can predict and copy techniques etc 3 tomoe sharingan: even more strong literally sees a bit into the future Mangekyo: every ability in the series You see the problem it was balanced until it wasn’t

  • Well a good explanation for Sasuke being able to use Amaterasu in his Kagutsuchi eye after losing his original, OWN Amaterasu eye (A.K.A the Six – Tomoe Rinnegan) is that he uses Itachi’s variant of the Amaterasu, which is the same ability. We know that Itachi had Amaterasu in his right eye, and Tsukuyomi in his left eye, we see this in his fight against Sasuke. However, Sasuke implants Itachi’s eyes into his own to create EMS, technically granting him all of Itachi’s MS abilities. This would be a good explanation as Sasuke would’ve had his OWN Amaterasu in his left eye & he had Itachi’s Amaterasu in his right eye along with Kagutsuchi. Therefore, he uses Itachi’s Amaterasu against Momoshiki-possessed Boruto. An explanation for Kakashi getting a Perfect Susanoo was because he got Six Paths Chakra which super-amped his techniques to evolve, therefore increasing his regular Susanoo to a Perfect Susanoo due to Six Paths Chakra.

  • sasukes ems probably just lets him spawn fire at range and the other lets him spawn it on himself, same thing with obitos ems, he can spawn the kamui portal away from himself and then he can spawn it on himself. kakashi’s eye is making a portal away from himself and then going into that portal, both times. obito also makes a portal except its both inside of himself and just a close range portal. obito can make a portal that simply phases himself through attacks by teleporting parts of himself into kamui and then another that makes obito a portal in of himself. which can probably also function as a close range kakashi ms just like sasukes flame manipulation ms can.

  • what people don’t understand is that Naruto’s story is not just a fairy tale. It’s a story that also requires us to learn in real life, to learn to live with our complexes like having one eye or one shoulder bigger than the other, or teach us to be patient and perseverant to accomplish our dreams and our objectives, it is therefore normal that they make some exceptions!😊

  • I just dropped the series with Boruto. It became quickly clear that Boruto wasn’t interested in making any amount of sense, not just in a lore sense, but also in a “why would these characters act like this” way. The main series had already gone totally off the rails, but Boruto kicked that into overdrive.

  • I like to imagine that the kekkei genkai that the uchia get is the ability to awaken the eye and then like a memory of the past eyes, maybe there is an exampl that I’m missing that refutes this but I think that when a sharingan user loses an eye the ability stays as long as they still have a sharingan and then if they lost both they would lose access to the abilities but if they would get another pair of sharingan after they would receive both their original abilities as well as the new eyes abilities

  • 0:06 — Pacing and other issues in ONE PIECE are exclusive to the anime. I’m diehard longtime ONE PIECE follower but whenever I see someone saying “ONE PIECE is best anime,” I just rolled my eyes and sigh in exasperation. There’s only two possible reason: either they’re new (to ONE PIECE or anime in general) or they just want Likes. Because as a diehard longtime ONE PIECE follower, I know that ONE PIECE anime is nothing close to perfection. ONE PIECE MANGA, though, is undeniably, definitely, absolutely A MASTERPIECE. PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION. Sorry I didn’t finish the article. — Edit: fix formatting

  • Sharingan itself was not a mistake, How it was used and changed was. If you think about it, the fact that you have to be extremely careful where you are looking during fight because if even one glance at those red eyes would put you under genjutsu – instantly loosing battle – is terrifying enough. Basically, it is safer to go in blindfold. Sharingan never needed 90% of abilities asigned to it, the movement tracking and genjutsu is more than enough.

  • i have an extra sasuke plot hole. since sasuke got his eye stabbed out by boruto, why did after that incident did he not go to orochimaru to get a new sharingan or as you said used izanagi to save himself when boruto tried to stab out his eye and then after go to orochimaru to get a replacement sharingan

  • I always felt like the sharingan was a ability that differs from person to person but the rinnegan kind ot did complicate things because i thought it was its own thing until Madara came and hit us with the “now look at this”🎵🎵🎵 My opinion i felt like they should of keep the sharingan and rinnegan separate and maybe had them just co exist.

  • I would argue that there is perfect anime death note would be on that list 100% there’s no filler episodes the ending was satisfying its a complete story start to end. Every mainstream anime still releases new content death note doesn’t need to do that because it’s perfect in its own right and im sure the creators of death note classed it as their own masterpiece

  • Personally to me the whole each eye only having one specific ability plot hole is filled by each eye having an affinity for an ability, but access to both. The eye obito uses has great affinity for personal use, so much so that it’s instinctive. He can use it on stuff not his body, but it’s effectiveness is limited, it can work at touch, but beyond that it’s either not possible or just not effective enough to be used. Where as kakashi has the opposite case, with the caveat that an ineffective personal teleport out of a dimension you’re stuck in, is still a teleport out of the dimension. You can work around the lack of affinity and capability with enough skill and situational circumstance, but it’s still lacking compared to the full thing. After all Sasuke kind of did keep whiffing the Amaterasu casts after having his Amaterasu eye stabbed, at least in my opinion. Itachi’s use of one ability one eye I feel is a combination of he uses both abilities to a decent degree so even the load, and he know’s he’s limited on their usage. He’s trying to get the most mileage out of each use so he uses the eye that does it the best. And for the most part we see him use the abilities when their effectiveness is important. Don’t want to use small/weak/slow Amaterasu on the legendary Jariya after all. A weakened tsukuyomi from the wrong eye might not be that much stronger than his normal genjutsu, at least not enough so to merit increased blindness any eye. You pay for the the big guns when you need the big guns, not a slightly over sized gun for the price of a big gun.

  • My question I had was, if the Ten-Tails is the same Chakra as Hagoromo had (Six Paths Chakra), and that by mixing Asura and Indra Chakra you get Hagoromo’s chakra, then why was it that when Obito absorbed the Ten-Tails, why did he not get his own Mangekyo Sharingan turned into a Rinnegan? Why did Sasuke only get one? Was it because he only awakened the Yin Half of Six Paths Chakra and therefore didn’t awaken the whole of Six Paths Chakra? But if that’s so, wouldn’t that mean he only got Indra Chakra (Which is what he already has and doesn’t awaken Rinnegan), or is it that he got Asura Chakra (Which melds with Indra anyway to become Six Paths Chakra?) Well, anyway, people say that Sasuke can’t shut off his Rinnegan, and this is actually not true. They say it’s an issue with animation, but in the Last Movie, we clearly see Sasuke with his Rinnegan turned off. He can turn them off, but he doesn’t. Why? Because Rinnegan likely doesn’t cause him as much drain. If anything, it probably gives him MORE chakra instead, granting more than it drained. There are a lot of things that don’t make sense with the Sharingan and Rinnegan. I also don’t understand the Tenseigan, as it comes with Six Paths Senjutsu. We obviously see Toneri with Sage Mode marks beside his eye. You might say that’s not Six Paths Sage Mode, but Naruto is using Six Paths Sage Mode in this movie and possesses the markings around his eyes, unless that wasn’t SPSM he was using, in which case he just scunked Toneri like it meant nothing at all.

  • I fully agree that Izanagi and Izanami were mistakes and never should have existed. But you ask me, tying the Rinnegan to the Sharingan was also a big mistake. I would have preferred if the RInnegan was it’s own thing that was unique to the sage and his actual reincarnations. Maybe even connecting it to the monks we see in the series, give them a reason to exist beyond getting bodied by Kakuzu and Hidan.

  • There’s an easy way to solve most of the problems that came with the sharingan, which is to separate its powers into different dojutsus and giving them to different clans in different lands. Konoha being so stacked with power is one of the main reasons why 80% of the world of Naruto feels empty. It’s like Kishimoto was scared of making his world richer.

  • Only having watched the Naruto and Shippuden anime, not read the manga my understanding of how the Sharingan, Mangekyo and Eternal function are as thus: After unlocking the Mangekyo amd over using it one goes blind, obtaining the eyes of another Uchida in this case Sauske taking Itachi’s eyes he was able to unlock the EMS and gain the abilities of both his own MS and that of Itachi’s given we see Itachi’s MS pattern in Sauske’s which could likely indicate he could use Amaterasu in either eyes and control them from either eye. Weither my information has been retcon’d or nefed due to the Boruto series I don’t know as I don’t watch Boruto

  • okay so if madara can access his susie because he had dual MS at some point (which im totally fine with no argument) then kakashi still has access to his susie during boruto right? since we know for certain he had dual MS during the kaguya fight. and more so he has one of the best noses around being stronger than even a ninja hound so he should have one of the strongest susies. please tell me there is a flaw in my logic. or tell me kakashi put the smack-down on some fools with his chakra mech.

  • I always assumed that Sasuke’s left eye could cast Amaterasu based on line of sight while his right eye could manipulate it into shapes and launch it like a projectile. Was I wrong about that? Also, as for the “Kamui” thing I thought that the Sharingan kinda just “told” you what the ability was called. Cuz how else do they just come up with the names of the techniques? Kind of like divine knowledge, that either the sharingan, or like the “spirit of Indura” told them, which I thought was a nod to the whole “These abilities are named after deities” thing.

  • 3 question then. 1.Why didn’t danzo try to get MS? Kakashi could awaken use and turn on/off MS so why didn’t danzo think of that. He new of it’s existence and used shinsui eye. The only thing I can think off is Kakashi Ms was awaken because tobi was around but that’s odd. 2. Probably the one that bothers me the most is why didn’t itachi Just use kotoamatsukami on the Akatsuki members during a meeting or on tobi and just make them defend the leaf like he did to himself. Him and tobi could have really done some damage or the entire gang could have to who ever was not effected by it. 3. Couldn’t itachi just use izanami to heal his sickness but I guess you covered that.

  • Also I like to stress the point that at the end of shippuden sharingan made every ninja obsolete and useless Entire armies of supposedly strong chunin/Jo in ninja are essentially powerless in front of a sharingan The only ones that can fight on equal grounds are Naruto and kakashy Kakashy because he has a sharingan and Naruto because he has sannin and tailed beast mode Every other ninja kage included are essentially cannon fodder unable to compete on equal grounds with them

  • i dont know WHY Kishimoto would remove the most interesting part of the MS: the fact that it HURTS YOU TO USE IT. downsides to abilities are what make the upsides SHINE. so for the EMS to negate the best part of the MS?? literally why. this is the same reason I hate the Nine Tails Cloak that Naruto uses after he befriends Kurama, it loses the downside that made the power interesting!

  • Going to be 100% honest. I don’t like the base Sharingan. It’s fine narratively as an ability for the Rival of the main character, but I hate copycat abilities personally. They feel cheep to me. But narratively it did make sense in early Naruto and was a very powerful, very broken, but not insurmountable ability. Then the power ceiling got blasted. Personally, Naruto’s power levels should not have gotten much bigger than Orochimaru Vs. Sarutobi. Like, sure, have an established strongest ninja in the world, but no one should be able to wipe out entire villages by themselves.
