Many people believe that Biggie Smalls, also known as Christopher Wallace, may be alive after a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in 1997. Wallace, better known by his stage names the Notorious B.I.G. and Biggie Smalls, died 20 years ago on March 9, 1997. The death of Biggie Smalls, coming six months after the murder of friend-turned-rival Tupac Shakur, ushered the rap game and its East Coast-West Coast feud.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office released the autopsy report on Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G. or Biggie Smalls, more than 15 years after the rapper was shot to death. The culprit behind Biggie’s fatal shooting has never been identified, although many conspiracy theories have emerged over the years. Some tie his death to the murder of Tupac, whom Biggie had previously been friends with.
The death of Tupac Shakur after a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas remained a high-profile cold case for almost 30 years, stoking rap rivalry. Both influential rappers died around the same time, the same way (shot to death), in what many would say is a conspiracy.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation released hundreds of pages of records from their investigation into the 1997 murder of Christopher Wallace. A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police detective investigating the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur testified before a grand jury in September, providing new insight into the feud. Grand jury testimony that helped indict and jail a longtime suspect in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur provides new insight into the feud.

You can really tell that Biggie wanted to end this beef, especially after it became bigger than him and ‘Pac. Two visionaires that died too early. I discovered their music pretty late, but I’m so glad that I did. I listen to both new rap (which a lot of oldschool fans hate) and oldschool stuff, but the oldschool stuff just has a different vibe which I don’t know if it will be replicated ever again. R.I.P. to Tupac, Biggie, DJ Screw, Eazy-E and anyone else who left their mark on the genre that took the world by storm.
Tupac was killed by Orlando “baby lane” Anderson after Tupac and his crew stomped him at the MGM Grand Hotel for previously robbing one of their crew members. Suge Knight’s ex, who was pressured with serious jail time from the FBI, revealed that Biggie was killed by Wardell “Poochie” Fouse, a Mob Piru gang member and an associate of Knight. Orlando was killed in a shootout in LA and Poochie died on July 24, 2003, after being shot in the back while riding his motorcycle. You reap what you sew! Both of the murderers of these legends also died by guns. If you live by the sword, you’ll die by the sword.
Was a tragedy for this brilliant artist to lose his life so early! He was a musical architect and invented his own brand of hip-hop. One of the greatest to ever do it! Biggie never really got to reap the fruit of his hard work and art. He never got to truly enjoy the benefits of fame, money and power and the impact his music had on culture. Though we still feel the ripples of his life, music and legacy today, it’s heart breaking that he never got to live it and see it. One love B.I.G.
That “Life after Death” was so real because Biggie pasted away before the album came out. I remember i was in the hospital waiting for my oldest daughter to be born. When Biggie left us March 9th and my daughter was born 12:04 am March 10th. That was the first time I seen life leave and come into the world on that level. I said a prayer for Biggie and his family that night. Rest easy Biggie and 2Pac.
Such a cool dude I’m from the Cali and although I’m “Pac” 4 life also loved Biggie. Now that I’m grown it chilling to know truly how young they were when they died. My daughter is almost that age. They seemed so old to me back then I was 16 This breaks my heart just as it did when news broke. RIH BIG🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊
Biggie did everything Huge this man had a Big heart and I doubt seriously if he had anything to do with shooting Tupac. An masterminded evil force intentionally planned and is behind the demise of both Biggie & Tupac downfall 😢 🙏🏽 Justice for the Kings 😢❤❤ Rest in Heavenly Eternal Peace Love and Prosperity to Kings Biggie and Tupac ❤❤🙏🏽
He was in such a good head space. Sad to know he was just beginning to enjoy the fruits of his labor and seemed to be at peace, only to be gunned down. I understand where Biggie was coming from, it took guts to visit several stations and book several shows in Cali after Pac died, especially with rumors of Biggie and Bad Boy being behind it (no way Biggie was behind it, you can tell he still had love for Pac regardless of their beef), but I wish he’d never of stepped foot in Cali and phoned in all his interviews. If he’d of waited for the temperature to drop before he toured the West Coast, it’d of saved his life.
I still remember when the were both killed. I mean I actually remember the absolute feeling of loss, sadness, grief, and even rage and anger. A rollercoaster of emotions that a lot of people felt. Like i said I can actually close my eyes and remember the feeling. Man If Pac and BIG were here today, they would be friends not enemies and I can only imagine the direction hip hop music would have went if they were still around. What a tragedy for hip hop and the fans. The whole situation could have been prevented…Makes it even harder to swallow.
I just shows important your words and thoughts are. 2pac – if I die tonight, I see death around the corner, etc Biggie – ready to die, life after death. When I was a kid, biggie and 2pac felt like old adults. Now that I’m almost 40, it puts in perspective how they were really still just kids. I can’t imagine all that fame can do to your mind. Rip pac and big
RIP BIG!!!!!! One of the coolest mfz I’ve meet to this day!!! I was blessed enough to have had a chance to chill with BIG for like 3 hours at a article shoot, hella down to earth!!! He seen me with my sisters and told us ” what y’all LiL asses doing here!? Y’all staying me with me, it’s too much going on here for y’all!!” 😂😂😂😂💯💯💯💯💯SALUTE TO A 👑!!
Biggie’s answer about the response to the beef they had is actually incredible to me. I didn’t expect that level of maturity from someone who was still super young. It’s proof that he lived a hard life because people who go through that sort of adversity literally have no choice but to ‘grow up’ real fast.
Sorry to break y’all 💔 but Long Kiss Goodnight did Biggie in. You just can’t sub someone and say I’m not talking bout that person, when indirectly referencing the 94/96 shooting. You drysnitchin B.I.G!!!!! Even if it was pre-written before Pac passed, that song shouldn’t have been on the album but decided to put it on anyway. That’s what got him killed…
Can you imagine the banger hits him and Pac would have made from then and today? Both rappers, seen as kings of coastal rap, lyrics that hit your soul. Nicki still be working 9 to 5 jobs and Cardi still be sliding down poles. There’s gonna be rappers like these kings one day. Wont be close but a inspiring and motivational rapper will come again.
Poor Guy….. He didn’t want Tupac dead . . . struck a nerve him seeing how powerful they both were . . . also 4 me personally; they were popular when I was a pre-teen;; SUCH a significant time in my youth . . . Tupac was killed when I was 12; Biggie when I was 13; & it almost feels like their deaths were a sign of the troubling times to come 4 me some how some way
Me and Biggie are the same age… Pac was a year older than us…. I hated Bad Boy and Biggie and Puffy….. Jus cause Tupac didn’t like ’em!!….. Now I realize how ignorant I wasn’t. I wish we all would have woke up and came together… Biggie was the bigger man in the situation… RIP Big and Pac!…
I think it’s weird that Biggie and Tupac’s deaths were oddly similar. 1. They both left party/fight with ceo’s of there record label. 2. They were both shot 4 times. 3. They were 25/24 turning 25 soon. 3. Biggies “boss” (P. Diddy) was suspected to kill Tupac, Tupac’s “boss” (Suge Knight) was suspected to kill Biggie. 4. The FBI was suspected to kill both of them. 5. Many think there “bosses” were gonna kill them since they were considering leaving the record. Ugh now I’m paranoid. Have a good day
tupac and biggie were both going to leave there record companies and create there own. P diddy and suge both didnt like this and conspired together to remove them both, knowing that they would own the rights to the music after the deaths (benefiting them both). with the rivalry between the two coasts this would make it easy to look like a vendetta and retaliation. it has been stated as well that suge helped pull tupac and the others of the crip in the mgm. people believe that anderson was paid to say this to remove charges from suge over assault. i believe this is because suge was aware who he was and what he was there to do. anderson was there to cause a scene and cop a beating from them. making way for the case to look like a retaliation attempt from the crips, this was all part of p diddy and knights plan. the phone call made by suge in the mgm was to say that it was going successfully and that he would make sure tupac was with him in the car. suge could convince tupac easily after the confrontation in the mgm to ride with him either for safety or to laugh about the confrontation. with the tyson fight having so much publicity months before hand this made it easy for them to set the scheme into place. the supposed rivalry between tupac and biggie was nothing more then a publicity stunt to sell more records and make money. They were really friends behind the scene. Just like modern youtube diss tracks, its nothing more then money making. RIP Tupac and Biggie smalls and what couldve changed everything “TuBig Records”
Buzzfeed unsolved is a pretty spooky series and I like that, but what I love more about the series is the fact there conversations/jokes are pretty hilarious so even when things gets super spooky something pretty hilarious would come up and instead of getting spooked up you would be instead laughing 😂😂😂😂😂😂🔫🔫🔫 now this is something I could watch any day of my life 😭😭😭😂😂😂😂🔫🔫
So when they’re explaining how/when B.I.G got stopped at that light, a Chevy Impala pulled up to his right which then the driver shot & killed him. BUT WHATS THE ABSOLUTE INSANE PART OF ALL OF THIS IS AT THAT EXACT TIME THEY’RE DISCUSSING THAT @ 1:08, YOU CAN LITERALLY SEE A FRIGGIN CHEVY IMPALA GO SLIGHTLY PAST THEM AS WELL, ALSO ON THEIR RIGHT WHILE BEING STOPPED AT ALSO THE SAME EXACT LIGHT & SAME EXACT LANE BIGGIE WAS SHOT AT!! I mean, what are the odds of ALL that??!!?? Crazy…
Great episode, want more like these!! Only flaw was that you didnt go deeper into Greg Kadings theories on both murders, he basically solved them both. Check out Murder Rap. Funny thing about the 2pac theories, were 2 of the 4 theories were still Lando and crips shooting him, on behalf of Bad Boy regardless if it was Big or Puff. In Biggies case, it’s more complicated but both theories are Suge knight paying someone to kill Biggie. Either David Mack. Or Blood Members close to Suge, either way it includes Knight. So basically Orlando Anderson/Bad Boy was responsible for Pacs murder, while Suge Knight, Death Row/corrupt cops killed Bigge. Case Solved.
