Six Flags Magic Mountain, a 209-acre amusement park in Valencia, California, will be closed on select weekdays in November and December from November 1 to November 1, 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The park will soon be home to California’s largest single-site commercial solar energy and storage project with the installation of a 12.37-meter solar array. On Thursday, April 1, Magic Mountain reopened for season passholders and members after a 383-day closure from March 14, 2020, to March 31, 2021.
Magic Mountain is one of the first California amusement parks to reopen on April 1, joining Legoland California in Carlsbad and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo. The park operates on peak and nonpeak opening hours, with daily opening times available on the following dates. Attraction availability varies seasonally, with FunZone closed every Friday-Monday in December and part of November (meaning closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).
By the fall of 2006, Six Flags announced that Magic Mountain was still up for sale, but they also stated that it would be sold to a company that would operate it. The park will be open every day of the year except Christmas Day and Thanksgiving. The BLT opens for the summer on May 31st, with hours from 4-10pm on Thursdays/Fridays, 11am-11pm on Saturdays, and 11am-7pm on Sundays for lunch and dinner.
📹 Six Flags Magic Mountain thinks it can open | How is OC doing?!
News broke late last week that Six Flags Magic Mountain announced they were intending to open in the Springs of 2021.
📹 Could Six Flags Magic Mountain Build Their LARGEST Roller Coaster Soon?
The FUTURE of Six Flags Magic Mountain looks bright and here are my 5 BOLD Predictions that I have for the park! Six Flags …
Do you believe Newsom will follow any tier system moving forward? NYC is opening movie theaters and already reopened indoor dining. Newsom is feeling so much pressure that theme parks will reopen ( with rides) this summer. If not, he is gone. The optics are terrible for him since all other states have reopened with limited to no restrictions
My conjecture on the situation is, theme park industry leaders here in California have good reason(s) behind the scenes to believe that bill will pass, allowing them to reopen in the orange tier instead of yellow. There’s optimism among them that Los Angeles and Orange counties in particular will reach the orange tier at some point during the spring and so given private knowledge behind the scenes and optimism, they’re announcing reopening’s well in advance. I think that they may sense that Gavin Newsom may be under some pressure due to the recalling effort, so maybe he’ll be less tight-fisted when it comes to restrictions going forward.
We need to stop playing politics and fix the problems ahead of us! Theme Parks around the world help support small businesses as well as brings happiness to people and I know I need a little Disney Magic right now! Let’s be honest I think the world has gone a little crazy (which is an understatement) because we have been locked up in our houses for almost one whole year I know I am losing a little of my sanity too!!! Let’s get back to normal swiftly and safely, put all of our differences aside and let’s just get this done!!! ✨❤️✨❤️✨
Just to clarify something: Six Flags Magic Mountain is in Los Angeles County, not Ventura. However, the reason why I think they are giving a reopening timeline is due to something that has to do with northern Los Angeles county. The Santa Clarita Valley and the Antelope Valley are sort of like a sub-county. Yeah, they’re within L.A. county and have to follow county… things, but from what I understand, they basically do everything separste from the rest of the county. One of those things, I think, is a health department of their own. I know Long Beach is allowed to do things differently from the rest of L.A. because they have their own health dept, but they don’t bother with it. Plus, SCV and AV are way more red than blue when it comes to their politics. Los Angeles County is a notoriously democratic county, but if you were to look at the demographics of the county, you’d notice that most of the northern parts are more republican, or at the very least, neutral. So, I wouldn’t put it past the people of Valencia or Six Flags itself to defy the politicians or be more optimistic for that reason. Interestingly enough, this article dropped right as I was passing Magic Mountain on my way home. Kinda funny. I was looking at it, just longing to head in the gates – then boop, this article talking about that park hits. It’s a small world after all, I suppose! By the way, this doesn’t probably mean anything, but I was told yesterday by someone who knows some managers that Disney is getting ready to announce something for April.
The stated purpose of the tier system is to prevent deaths and lower hospitalization rates. With the majority of the highest risk individuals in the state getting the vaccine now or in the near future, deaths and hospitalizations should decrease at a greater rate than overall case numbers and positivity rate. If that happens, I would expect the requirements for the tiers to be adjusted accordingly.
What is the science behind it? ER vacancy rates affecting steps between tiers was the first thing I ever heard from Newsom that sounded like it made sense, not that the numbers he chose were the right numbers though. The right numbers could only be arrived at by continually adjusting them like trial and error, even if you want to always error on the high side.
Well, it’s seems California is still operating off dated guidelines and opening tiered systems. Things have changed drastically since August 2020. We know more now than we knew then, even moreso since this all began in March 2020. Top scientist and epidemiologist have said that we must learn to live with Covid-19. The deployment of the Stay at Home orders worked well for us when we knew nothing about the virus. Change in the way of a more balanced approach is needed.
#recallgavin. Disney knows they can open safely and more then proved it in Florida. At over 1.5mil votes for the recall newsom can’t win against Disney and all the other businesses that need to be back open like the rest of the country and world really. I have a bad feeling it may already be too late for California and we haven’t seen the true impact of what has been wrongly done to our economy.
Thanks for the positive info David but like you were saying Knott’s might be aggressive I’m wondering how aggressive Universal Studios is and how will they respond to what’s happening with Six Flags Magic Mountain so with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you David and Liz and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure also please be safe out there
Disney, Knotts, and Universal are in a different boat then parks like Six Flags. All three of those have indoor rides. Its much easier to open a park with all of its major rides being outdoors. Even in Florida they want you to sanitize your hands every time you walk inside, and socially distance, and wear a mask at all times. Masks inside and outside of course. Could Six Flags open SAFELY well before Disney? Yes, I am certain of it. As long as they implement similar safety precautions similar to what Florida put in place.
It’s time for another change/revision to the re-opening system being used, as it was revised 6 months ago. Just a 2nd look isn’t too much to beg for… Since we know have vaccines, we need a new opening system. Covid-19 is here to stay, we need to start fully excepting that. As Dr Faucci has stated. Revisions arent bad, but politically, it may be seen as a backstep. Bad for us.
I was scared to get a vaccine because I have a low immune system and it has not been tested in transplant patients. I went to my doc and he is encouraging it for all his patients so am scheduling it for March 1st. (The first day my group can go) The main reason I want to get it is the rumor that a Disney might require it for ticket holders. Anyone else heard this?
Magic and Universal both said they would open this spring more like May, I think their putting this out their to see how the State and Newsome respond, these 2 park have quiet this entire time where Disney and Knotts have NO Problem voicing their opinion. I think the best we’re gonna be able to do is get into the red by summer and probably be their until the end of the year, reason i say this you have Easter, mother’s day, memorial day, fathers day, July 4th and labor day all coming up and people are going to gather then a few weeks later you’ll probably see a spike. Realistically we’ll be in orange the first half of 2022 and then hopefully yellow by late summer early fall of 2022.
There is no way Magic Mountain can open safely. It’s mostly teenagers operating the park and they will not monitor the guests or enforce masks or any social distancing etc. i can’t see them cleaning everything all the time. I would not feel good safe going to Magic Mountain. Disney seems to be on it and enforces the rules, and the park extremely well kept, even before COVID. The cast members are fabulous.
You’re forgetting that Spring 2021 runs from about Mar 21 to JUNE 21. A lot of people are saying that Theme Parks will be reopening for the Summer 2021 season. The Summer season has normally been considered to start over the Memorial Day weekend in late May which is technically still Spring. So, Magic Mountain is NOT saying anything that has not been floating around for a while. I’m quite sure that Magic Mountain is aiming for a Memorial Day weekend reopening. Also, you forget that Universal has become a major player as well in the Theme Park Industry what with Universal Orlando. Universal Japan, Universal Hollywood, and (being constructed) Universal Singapore. And we have not heard anything from Universal Hollywood yet either. Universal will have 4 major Theme parks soon with Universal Epic Universe still in the planning stages which would then make 5. Disney only has 12 Theme Parks by Comparison. And 2 of those are really owned by the Oriental Land Company (Tokyo DL and Disney Sea) and 2 are partly owned by Disney (Hong Kong DL and Shanghai). DL Paris was once the same way but is now completely owned by Disney. So, Disney really only owns 8 Theme Parks completely (DL, DCA, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, DL Paris, and Disney Studios). A decade ago the number would have been 6 only. The point is Universal is catching up with Disney fast.
Disney can no longer stand to be closed mr gaven should hopefully be voted out in a few months with the votes that we already reached to boot him out. The only reason why this guy open us back up was to take the heat off him jokes on him though. Any who hope to see the parks open soon and they will sometime this year
