Is Not Doing Tarot Cards Well?

Tarot cards, dating back to the 1400s, were initially used in Europe for playing card games, some of which are still played today. They have become a popular form of divination for spiritual purposes, providing insight into love life, finances, family problems, and future spouses. However, they often get a bad rap with religious people, who believe tarot cards are evil or sinful.

The bottom line is that tarot cards are safe if you have good intentions, take care of your cards, and don’t dabble in anything dangerous. They can be used for self-reflection, gain insight into situations, and help others do the same. Tarot cards can be used for travel, reading at any time of day or night, and allow others to use them.

However, there are potential dangers associated with using tarot cards. Excessive reliance on tarot can lead to making bad decisions based on false information and opening portals to bad spirits. It is important to be aware of potential dangers when engaging in any form of divination, including tarot.

Some Christians believe that using tarot cards is evil, but it is neither good nor bad. Relying too much on tarot might bewilder us and create false decisions. Additionally, using tarot for harmful purposes, dangerous to misuse, can lead to bad decisions.

In conclusion, while tarot cards can be a powerful tool for personal growth, insight, and empowerment, they can also be risky if approached without caution or discernment. The reason why tarot cards are considered evil and sinful is because they come from a demonic influence. Christians should avoid tarot cards and seek alternative divination methods.

Is it bad to play with tarot cards?

Tarot cards can be dangerous if not used carefully. They should only be used for self-reflection, gain insight into situations, and help others by reading for them. The author’s fascination with metaphysical topics began at 16 when they attended a psychic fair. After the birth of their daughter in 2002, they began studying tarot, astrology, and numerology. This was comforting as they began treatment for postpartum depression.

By 2005, they began offering tarot readings as part of their first psychic line, Kasamba. Their interest and skills grew as they took tarot courses and read books, including those from tarot author and expert Liz Dean.

Is it safe to read tarot cards?

Tarot cards, like other metaphysical tools, are as safe or dangerous as the messages they deliver. They provide clues into the subconscious and are not harmful themselves. The Tarot is often linked to witchcraft, as many practicing witches use it. However, not all witches use the Tarot. The Tarot is a divination tool used by witches to derive more symbolism and understanding for specific questions. Witchcraft and Tarot can co-exist separately, and reading Tarot does not necessarily mean practicing witchcraft. Both practices involve active engagement with intuition.

Should you knock on your tarot cards?

Before pulling tarot cards, it is recommended to cleanse your deck by knocking on it to clear previous energy and rearranging the cards in their order. Other ways to cleanse your deck include bathing it under a full moon, using smoke-clearing sage, or placing Selenite wands around it. Before pulling a tarot card, it is crucial to ask yourself the intention, whether it is to inspire a next step, make a decision, or validate your feelings. Clearing your deck helps the cards make sense and provide a clear understanding of what you are hoping to gain from the reading.

Is it OK to read tarot to yourself?

Making predictions for yourself in Tarot reading is not always the best approach, as it can be challenging due to the fluctuating details and timing of the cards. Being too involved and having expectations can negatively impact the results. The energy of the reader is crucial, and it influences the cards drawn. The best results are achieved when asking short-term questions, such as the same day or week, or long-term questions, which can be difficult to predict due to the fluctuating nature of the details and timing. Therefore, it is recommended to consult a professional for accurate predictions.

Is it OK to pull tarot cards for yourself?

Tarot readings can be done by beginners, providing insight into current situations, honoring intuition, and forecasting potential outcomes. To begin, clean the energy of your space by burning herbs, ringing bells or chimes, taking a bath, or using crystals. A Selenite wand is a popular energy refresher that aids clarity.

Sit comfortably and close your eyes, focusing on the protective energy surrounding you. Take deep breaths, think about your question or needing guidance, and keep your mind and heart open to the answers that may come through the cards. Shuffle the deck, focusing on your desired query, and shuffle the cards in front of you. The pattern laid out is called a “spread”, and the meaning of each card in combinations builds up to the overall answer to your query.

Before beginning to shuffle, know which spread you will be working with. As answers come through, it’s important to draw additional cards for further clarity or start with a new question from a different perspective. Tarot readings can be a powerful tool for personal growth and understanding.

Is there any truth to tarot cards?

Is there any truth to tarot cards?

Early French occultists claimed that tarot cards had esoteric links to ancient Egypt, the Kabbalah, Indic Tantra, or the I Ching. However, scholarly research reveals that tarot cards were invented in Italy in the early 15th century for playing games, and there is no evidence of significant use of them for divination until the late 18th century. The belief in the divinatory meaning of the cards is closely associated with a belief in their occult properties, which was propagated by prominent Protestant Christian clerics and Freemasons.

From its uptake as an instrument of divination in 18th-century France, the tarot went on to be used in hermeneutic, magical, mystical, semiotic, and psychological practices. It was used by Romani people when telling fortunes and as a Jungian psychological apparatus for tapping into “absolute knowledge in the unconscious”, a tool for archetypal analysis, and even a tool for facilitating the Jungian process of individuation.

What religion do tarot cards come from?

This literature review examines the relationship between Tarot cards and New Age religion, emphasizing their function in the contemporary study of the New Age movement.

Is manifesting a sin?

Manifestation is a manipulation of influence to be honored, rather than honoring God. Romans 1:21-26 offers cautionary wisdom, reminding us that those who knew God chose to resist the opportunity to honor Him, leading to darkened hearts and fools. Many people have exchanged the immortal God for images and the truth about God for a lie, serving the creature instead of the Creator. It is important to avoid serving the creature instead of the Creator and to assess cultural trends presented as Scripture. The enemy twisted Scripture to tempt Eve to eat the fruit, and this same trick is still being used today.

Are tarot cards against the Bible?

God warned the Israelites against divination, including child sacrifice and spell-casting, as they neared the Promised Land. Leviticus 19:26 prohibits practicing divination or seeking omens, and Tarot card reading falls within this prohibition. Jeremiah 10:2 warns against following the world and reading our future from anything but God. However, the effectiveness of Tarot reading depends on one’s belief in the Tarot. The discussion on whether to practice divination depends on the individual’s belief in the Tarot. Despite the warnings, Tarot card reading remains a popular practice among Christian clients.

Why don’t tarot cards work?

The interpretation of a tarot card depends on the questions asked, card combinations used, and spreads used. Standard card meanings may not be suitable for a specific context. It’s important to ask “How can I interpret this card in this specific reading?” instead of “What does this card mean?” This approach is not taught in courses like my Tarot Foundations program, which covers all 78 tarot cards.

Do tarot cards really work?

Do tarot cards really work?

Tarot readings can be an empowering and insightful tool for self-discovery and future direction. A professional tarot reader can help you understand your goals and desires, providing insight into your situation and guiding you towards the best actions for your love life, career, or other questions. They can also reveal the motivations of others and predict potential outcomes of decisions. A good tarot reading can provide clarity and help heal anxiety.

However, it is crucial to prepare thoroughly for your first reading to fully benefit from the experience. A good tarot reading can provide valuable insights into your future and help you make informed decisions.

  • I used to rely on cards so much that it’s like I started expecting things to just happen in my life without taking action towards them. I think they can be helpful for some inspiration or to help sort out my own thoughts about something but I’m weary about using them so much now that I stop living my life and start living in an imaginary world… It reminds me of a Dumbledore quote actually “it does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live”

  • I’m currently throwing out mine. Over 200 decks and I haven’t practiced it in 2yrs. I was super addictive and reliant. And they were draining my energy. I noticed that when I watched readers their messages no longer aligned with me. I started to unfollow them. To each their own. But, I noticed it’s no longer serving me either. Bless anyone knowing how to grow. Change is progress.

  • I use tarot cards but I never asked about the future. I’m a person who believes the best in people and I always get backstabbed and betrayed. Tarot cards helped me to be in touch with my intuition and alerted me from people who had Ill intentions towards me. I’m lonely and I enjoy talking to spirit very much but it always tells me to go live life, go to the gym and do things. It’s there to help you not to make you fear life or become obsessed. It’s a tool for us.

  • You mentioned the death card and the devil coming out when you were compulsively asking about your daughters health, but my interpretation is that the cards were guiding you to this very revelation! Death is transformation and the devil represents addictive behaviors etc. all in all I love this article! Thank you for helping so many with your personal truths! Lots of love and courage to you on your journey.

  • Left my deck over 3 years ago after 8 years of being a reader. Now I only read for myself once or twice a year (if I feel like it) and it’s always just a confirmation for me. Back when I made the decision to rid my living space of my only Tarot deck, it felt as if I don’t need it anymore and it’s just standing in my way of more deeply connecting to my inner knowing and intuition. Problem with Tarot for me also came when I became good at it and would know the outcome of pretty much every trivial matter I asked about. That’s cool for a time as it gives you security, comfort and a sense of control but at a certain point it started feeling as if I was missing out all the magic, wonder and spontaneity of life. All in all, it felt like the best decision for me to remove the deck from my home. 3 years later, I am completely sure it was the best decision for me. Even when I have the opportunity to read for myself now, I don’t take it most of the time. Feels unnecessary. The cards are never telling us something we don’t already know, be it on a very deep level. It’s simply a tool we use. And tools can be outgrown or become unnecessary any time. Just felt like sharing this if someone is at the same spot I was at back then, wondering if it’s the right decision to get rid of their deck. If you feel like you‘ll be growing more without using the cards, let them go.

  • I became so reliant on psychics and Youtube tarot readers that I realized that sometimes you’ll attract wrong information to help break you from that co-dependency. I feel depressed if a reader says something negative is coming or if something good is supposed to be happening but isn’t in my own life. I’ve realized that we’re not supposed to try so hard to predict and control life – the whole point is to embody life and you can’t do that if you’re addicted to the outcome. I still use readings to help me navigate but try to keep it at only more abstract ones that help me evolve and don’t replace my own intuition.

  • I’ve found a similar kind of mindset to be true in my life as well. Many years ago when I initially went through my “spiritual awakening” which was completely valid, I that was I still left giving away lot of power to ideas that I didn’t resonate with and not fully owning my power. Ever since I decided to only focus on things that resonate with me such as ideas, actions, or any of way of Being, that’s when I found Inner-Peace and ALSO my manifestations started to come in because of that natural flow. Great article Victor! Thanks for being one of the people that inspires me to post articles every single day! Much Love 🙏

  • Personally I think a lot of people use tarot cards wrong, asking about things outside of them selves like “how does he feel about me?”, “Are we getting back together?” and “Will he reach out?” That’s not helpfull. That’s giving your power away. Same with readings about the future. Tarot is a great tool for self development. Asking “why do I need to know how he feels about me? What wound inside of me is trying to be filled with his love for me?” or “What can I do to get what I really wish for in my life?” Instead of looking for someone else to “fix” (even spirit), seek answers for what you can do. Take back your power. Also, in dreams the rule is that everyone you dream about is a reflection of yourself. Every rule has exeptions, but with that information, dream interpertation becomes easier 🙂

  • Victor, its a journey… isn’t it? And all these tools are there to help us, to arrive at Surrender. Which is that moment, that we relinquish control, and allow the present moment, and the flow of life, to guide us, and to sustain us. This is the awakening. Thank you for being so honest and speaking your truth! We are all learning.

  • I was atheist who became Faithful in God, I was a strident, logical non-believer. The synchroncities in my life were too ridiculous to ignore. So I went to God. The kundalini experience was beyond my control… I hated every second of it. But I don’t want negativity in my life. (I drink on occasion but I now belive in God).

  • This is so genuine of you Victor. How helpful this is to the thousands of people out there. I went into vegetarian diet (as my body wanted to) before spiritual awakening thought eating meat must be a sin like action. After 2 years now I eat meat once in every couple of months if I really really feel for it. Yes I used psychic readings a lootttt! Spent thousands of pounds as I was very very anxious. But what brought me to this point of my life my own actions and intuitions so I stopped that too. I am for moderations and nothing is wrong or right. Everything is an experience if we control our own desires without letting them to become an addiction.

  • I stopped using tarot for about a year, but was projecting my shadow moreso then on it, and then went into shadow work and after a year came back to tarot with a new perspective, without that addiction that I had to it before, and it helps me now way better to uplift my vibe. 💫🌟🦋👑 and even the readers that I choose are very different and have different energies, i think it is a reflection of inner work too.

  • I love and respect that you made this article. After years of physical disease, a lifetime of eczema, changing my diet several times, I found just listening to my body was all I needed. Some days I eat meat, some days strictly vegan diet, some days I fast most of the day. Never felt better! Same with spiritual practices, I’ve learned to listen to my intuition, and as needed seek other spiritual tools that call to me in that moment.

  • I had a similar Journey with a lot of these things. Where I was a vegetarian for 9 years and when my husband came home who had been a vegetarian for many years and suddenly he had a chicken sandwich from McDonald’s lol and I came unglued because our identity is a vegetarian couple was just blown out of the water and then I felt now I’m just a vegetarian by myself LOL but we couldn’t get pregnant for almost 2 years and I started eating fish and meat again and got pregnant within a few weeks! I didn’t have the right amount of nutrition and heavy proteins needed to create and sustain a life inside me. Now I’ve got two beautiful children who are in their twenties. And I used to ask the cards stuff all the time and now I just asked God directly and he gives me the answer directly. I don’t need cards anymore. But I still read cards for people when they want me to. And I always tell people that this is definitely a potential future but also they write their own obviously. But mostly the people that want my psychic ability now is to open up a website between them and deceased loved ones and give messages back and forth and I read the akashic records now for people and I give people spiritual messages from their masters and their higher self now. And I don’t need cards or anything anymore. Life is a crazy Journey isn’t it? And it’s funny when people are vegetarian or vegan and then they start preaching to people that aren’t and then they get sick and have to go back to eating meat LOL it’s really funny.

  • Thank you so much for this article, Victor! I am experiencing the exact same thing that you are right now. Tarot used to really help me, but now I find myself going to the cards for the wrong reasons. And I too have been getting really “wonky” and often dark readings!! I think you are so right, we have outgrown the tarot and are being nudged to use our own, intrinsic intuition. Feels good to not be alone- this really, really helped a lot.

  • I stopped perusal tarot. I was told by 3 different tarot readers, during 3 separate occasions & times, these were GENERAL reading, “you need to stop perusal tarot.” I’m thankful Christ warned me. I came out of Babylon. You’re not talking to “thoughtful spirits,” you’re consulting demons. The devil masquerades as an “Angel of Light.” I accepted Christ as my King & savior.

  • I used to do psychic readings on Oranum and eBay. However, when my mom was sick, I quit so I can spend more time with her in the nursing home. I haven’t done any reading for first time since 2016. I quit because I felt guilty of charging people for reading and for being selfish. Also, I would rather enjoy my life and not worry about what tomorrow going to be like, what my future going to be like. Just enjoy your life and that’s all that matter!

  • I also love tarot cards, and curiously enough I also stopped using them once I realized that all the answers are within me. When I truly started working on my intuition and listening to that inner voice, I felt no need to use cards anymore. Great article, Victor! ❤️ (it’s like you stop being dependent on things outside of you when you truly start TRUSTING yourself)

  • I like to hear tarot readings as well as read cards myself. I’ve noticed that for those who use them in ego-fear moments like things that cause anxiety, they can get mixed responses….also spirit won’t always show us what we aren’t evolved and ready to see. But you make great points about not trusting your own intuition. I won’t stop using tarot for fun and important insight and guidance every now and then, but I’ll practice to trust my intuition more based on learning from your shared experiences as well. And yes you are right, no one actually knows our future, we can create it ourselves, im a psychic medium, have been my whole life and one of the most interesting things ive learned with my predictions is NOTHING is set in stone. We can change out outcome or choose whatever path we want. Thank you for sharing you experience and thoughts

  • I totally agree . Honestly I find that the tarot cards reveal our subconscious thoughts or fears at times . I used to love them, but I too stopped using them recently . At the end of the day we know by using our intuition what path to take and what we should or shouldn’t do, and using tarot cards is just saying to the universe that we don’t trust ourselves. Although in the early awakening stages they are fun and can seem accurate … but again it’s a reflection of our subconscious thoughts, and our inner beings know what’s up lol

  • I’ve been following and perusal you since 2016. You helped me so much Victor to help me reiterate the things I was I knowing but didn’t follow through! I too owned businesses, grew, taught people to grow and ran 4 other businesses. In 2016 I got a castle house on the water and went into solitude for 2 years. I gave up all my businesses. I gave so much money to those in need. I chsnged my life and went inner, dealt with that and then understood…. i dont need that hug, that ego, that negativity. You helped me learn its all within me! Negativity flows through me like water these days.Watched you religiously! You helped me so much, Thank you from my heart and soul! I walked out back into my nature Mr Miyagi back yard…saw my last tarot deck I’m the cubby by computer desk to out back.. saw this article. Exactly my thoughts, once again! Much love, gratitude, respect. Sending all Positive Thoughts, Healing, Courage & Love!!!❤️💪🏝🌞🕺💃😎🙏

  • This Diet issue seems to be a Big one among”spiritualists” . They have this mind set that they should be a certain way, live a certain way… there is NO criteria to live by to be spiritual other than being open and connected to Self and Spirit in order for your soul to learn and grow. I eat meat, I eat sugars, I smoke all natural tobacco and my health is thriving! I’m 50, have had 7 kids (9 pregnancies) and I’m 5’5 strong, toned, and still look young . Live your best life by focusing on who you are on the inside Not the outside abs it will reflect upon the outside eventually ✨️

  • 👏👍I totally agree. All things in moderation. When you feel a dependency on ANYTHING — it’s time to step back. Your own inner truth should not be usurped by an intuitive, a tarot card reader (no matter how good they are) or a great speaker, your counselor or even your life coach. –> Check in with your conscience. It is god’s intercom. The more you use it, the clearer it gets. 🙏 Namaste’

  • Also Tarot is an excellent tool for gauging your energy or the energy of a situation so if used as a tool for insight and a medium to communicate with Spirit it can be awesomely helpful but remember Spirit doesn’t not give you the answers but rather provides information for you to discover your own truths and direction and let’s you know what YOU are putting out there into the quantum Field and what results you are likely to receive based upon your current energy…but we have the power to change….

  • Marijuana really helped (in particular sativas if you’re looking to try this) with allowing my anxiety to dissipate enough to allow me to 1. Feel my feelings because I had been through chronic childhood and other traumas that numbed me out and made it feel scary to even begin looking at my feelings or feeling them and 2. Once I was able to feel my feelings instead of just constant anxiety, I was able to come to insights and connect the feelings that were coming up in the present to past traumas and really connect into how I was feeling past and present regarding what happened to me and connect the dots.. which allowed me to heal. So utilized in appropriate ways and in moderation, all of these healing modalities including tarot cards can be very beneficial.. depending on what you’re needing at that time in your spiritual growth. Thank you for the article ❤️🙏

  • Tarot cards get such a negative hype because modern religion and science took over the use of archetypal Identification. I found pretty much whatever energy you are feeling Will be manifest like a mirror in the use of any divination tools. I guess it’s really true we’re creating our reality💜 A talented tarot reader will be a blank slate using questions of how to manifest the highest good. Perhaps your tarot was trying to tell you it needed to be the death of your fear About your daughter. It’s all in how they’re read😘

  • I love tarot and they are a big part of my spiritual practice- BUT an ex friend of mine abused me over tarot. Manipulating and demanding I read for her constantly, going to extreme emotional manipulative tactics to get me to read, if that didn’t work, she resorted to straight up anger and aggression at me. I’m really good at it and very accurate- but she somehow got it into her head that I was her dancing best or something and I OWED it to get to read whenever she wanted, which was becoming several times a week. I ended the friendship over it and I actually stopped reading for others because of it

  • SEASONS TO EVERYTHING…and there is ALWAYS A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING to be gained. Pretty spiritually mature concepts here, Vic. It is very comforting to realize that what works today may or may not tomorrow. I don’t limit myself much anymore. Someone said to me just today “Oh how lucky that was for him!”. I smiled and said “Maybe. Maybe not.”. Love you, my online unmet friend. ❤️❤️❤️

  • Addiction is a rough road. For most, it’s all or nothing. Sounds like you did the right thing, for you. People can substitute pretty much anything in place of “tarot cards” and your comments would be equally as relevant. Everything can be addictive… or nothing can be addictive. It all depends on each person’s character, even genetics. It’s a good vicarious lesson for all.

  • I feel like even when I quit tarot the universe does not stop in trying to communicate with me. I’ve been distracting myself from tarot by going back to my childhood hobby of reading and collecting comic books. I’ve been recently catching up reading all the X-Men comics that were released and I’m just amazed that as I read, some of the stories relate to the philosophical views I’ve been having on life from and the issues I’m going through so I’m able to get a perspective from the characters I admired growing up as a kid. They even showed tarot cards in one of the stories which I thought was funny.

  • Thsi reallly resonates with me. I found myself obsesively asking the same things over and over again. Getting scared when I got the tower, death, the devil in the same reading. So I thanked my tarot deck and told them I would no longer consult them. I am just not ready and dont have enough knowledge to properly read them without panicking.

  • I love the Osho Zen Tarot! I have a Tarot workbook that I do everyday and that is the current deck I am using most often. I only read for myself, although if a friend asks me to pull a couple cards I will, but I usually tell them what the guidebook says and let them interpret for themselves. I like the daily thing because I use it more as a means of “how was my energy today” or “what energies are moving me today?” I don’t ask specific questions anymore, and that started more because I would overthink things, and discount my intuition. Currently, they are also helping me make connections for my writing and that has been a huge help. I also have a crazy amount of oracle decks. With those, if I feel like pulling a few cards, I’ll see what the Universe guides me to and just kind of sit with them for a while. I do have a friend that would do psychic readings for me for a while. She was the reason I got into the cards, and she’s one of like 5 people I have ever pulled for. Once I started getting readings from her, I actually got addicted to pick a card readings on youtube but eventually got sick of them. I still have a few that I follow and if something really gets my attention, I might check it out, but I’m not above turning them off and finding something else to do these days too. I’ve found that has come more as I’ve given myself space to follow my intuition and see where it leads me, and then when I find myself getting too dependent on something- I figure out how to walk away…

  • Thank You Victor❤im Vegan. Quit weed a while back after a bogus marijuana dui. Ive been Feeling my Higher Self Guiding me into Utilizing my own “Built In” Powers such as Intuition. Ive been Feeling that maybe im going to tarot too much. Maybe that dui was the Universe Guiding me to my own Capabilities instead of using weed for assistance. Veganism is Not about food, but maybe the Universe was saying(or my Higher Self), that i needed to shed alot of weight and this was/is the way, My Love For All Life Helped Me loose the weight. Thank You again Vic…i Appreciate You❤

  • Thanks Vic – love your articles. As a reader myself the tarot is not easy to read for the self. You can set intention for that but it’s really designed to bring up the unconscious to the consciousness for awareness and having someone who is really skilled do it is important because it basically brings up the blind spots and our fears we cannot see so if we read for ourself we usually can’t see our blind spots. Of course there are many readers who read out there and have there perspectives and there is alot of projection going on too. I do feel like with any healing technique it is wise to give some time for integration. The tarot can be a powerful tool of bringing up the subconscious and unconscious energies for healing and as you know there are many ways to do this. I can relate to what you are saying here from my first encounters with the tarot and not to mention I was brought up around religious stuff so that also was challenging working through. It is important to find someone who can help you liberate yourself through readings. If you are leaving feeling afraid and not empowered that’s a sign the reader is projecting their unhealed fears into the reading. All the best to you 💕

  • Exactly…the tarot reflects back at you. I used them for ridicilously small decisions too. I recently had some BIG choices to make, I saw two different youtube readings and both were true, but reflected the different options of choice I had at the time~perfectly~. I just quit tarot and oracle cards for daily use, and quit pick a card readings, and a lot of my power and energy came back. I almost let tarot dictate the trajectory of my life! And yes. It is addictive…!

  • I had to learn this over and over before I gave up on tarot and all that. It became an obsession and addiction that was causing me harm… I was letting tarot reads and my own pulls ruin my vibration… letting spiritual teachers affect my OWN internal truth… I realized tarot isn’t an objective TRUTH I need to buy into – sometimes we draw cards that may reflect our vibration RIGHT NOW, but we have the power to shift that. All tarot does is reflect A probability, but ultimately we can choose to interpret it in a different way, or even choose to stubbornly direct our own destiny and ignore seeds of fear that may be planted. To be a conscious creator sometimes, we need to stubbornly adhere to our own desires, our own internal peace and hold our intentions regardless!!

  • Aw I love and appreciate this so much 💜 I’ve been obsessing over astrology and tarot lately (just learning) I have ADHD and I’ve been intensellyyy in hyperfocus and forgetting to eat. Its all I think about and dream about lol UGH why is moderation so hard But yeah it’s starting to impact my life negatively. I don’t even wanna see people because it’s all I care about

  • Your message couldn’t have come in a better time. Sometimes I get so caught up in trying to find meaning and guidance in every aspect of my life and don’t realize I’m just distracting myself while also giving my energy and power away. “Flexibility” was the word that stuck with me and a great reminder to where I am in my journey. Thanks again for sharing!

  • Wow!!! Ase… and thank you for sharing. This is my exact current realization. Our ego will always attempt to find ways make us “feel” in control… with different labels and rules… and the spirit just wants to evolve freely without limiting beliefs and restraints of the ego. Just wants to flow in exploration of LIFE. The ego is needed… on this spiritual journey… but balance is key and I believe the lesson of life.

  • I like the movie. “Peaceful Warrior ” He says, Dependence is the problem. Everything is available My journey has been same . I allow things to be. You and Aaron suggested to try stopping cannibus,so it planted a seed . I stopped with no problem, and yes I became very clear with out it . I didn’t like the cost, the mixed up thinking, hazing brain, bumping in to stuff with car 😉🤞. It had a super good use 4me to open up emotionally, I processed laugh, cry unwind. I stopped alcohol 1985 was my last drink, yea was friend of Bill. That to had to go Dependence 4me in anything is the problem. Balance and freedom ✨️ 🙏 Love you Vic 😍

  • Tarot as oracle – a personal guide to explore universal connection…..🌌🌝👉✨👈🌞🌌 It has a calling for an individual to respond to…….by intuition’s invitation – not by imposing solicitation. It’s an honor to partake, ask for or co-creating a reading – especially to share in interpretation with conjecture, inquiry. Ultimately it’s for one’s self to determine such an art. Thank you for the article. Your perspective speaks to me. Especially to honor our world’s within and the overall fluctuating calls and needs. 🙏✨👐💜👐✨🙋🏻‍♀️

  • Tarot is merely a confirmation of what you already KNOW, when you know (because you believe it) that you are a failure and everyone is out to you thats the exact story the cards will tell you. Your higher self tells the story, when we read in YouTube we are websiteing our own experiences that then attracts our collective, people who are going through similar learning experiences. When you are to launch a business, if you get the 3 of coins, the King of Wands and 4 of coins, you already KNOW that you most strategize, stick to your plans, stay put, aligning your ideas, your purpose with your heart and at the same time take inspired action in order to see you idea to flourish. How is it possible to give the cards a meaning that resonates with us? Because that’s something we already know, tarot is like the lotto, infinity combinations that can match someone’s birthdays and lucky numbers

  • Yup, I read tarot for myself, but a few months ago I found myself in a “situationship” that triggered me to subscribe to every possible tarot website on YouTube 😅🤦🏻‍♀️, it got so bad that I’d spend hours binge perusal reads to try to soothe the bad gut feeling said relationship gave me, needless to say in vain, one day I was feeling really low and a sudden disgust for what I was doing to myself kicked in, I immediately unsubscribed to every tarot website and started using the time on YouTube for more constructive things like yoga and meditation/ self improvement articles, a few weeks later I regained my sense of self, my mood and self esteem took a very needed turn for the better, and I finally gathered the courage to break free from a very unfulfilling relationship. Tarot is great but it shouldn’t be abused and certainly better avoided when we’re not feeling well, at the end of the day it’s a tool to consult with our subconscious mind, when it’s muddy it’s better to wait until it’s settled down again before we ask it anything.

  • I went through ego deaths and did shadow work and two years later still have not picked up any of my old oracle decks. A part of me misses it but not enough to use them again. Was thinking of getting rid of them altogether since not using them but haven’t been able to bring myself to do that yet. I have felt more grounded than I was before by a long shot but the process wasn’t without its sacrifices.

  • This is super interesting. I have been following for several years ever since my spiritual awakening. Your articles guided me through every step. I feel like your articles resonate constantly with what I’m going through, in perfect timing. This summer I started listening to tarot card readers on YouTube. I was taking some of the readings to heart probably a little too much ha! I have been thinking recently that I should lay off of these readings and just go live my life! Also, the diet! I went through something quite similar. During my awakening all of the sudden I couldn’t stomach chicken even a little bit. Then beef, then milk and eggs. I think I went for 6 months eating sweet potatoes and cooked spinach for dinner every night and even lunch some days. After a while it was backfiring and I needed more in my system. It’s interesting how our bodies guide us to what it needs. I think I needed sweet potatoes and spinach because I was running so high vibe I couldn’t stand anything that had an energy attached to it. I dunno, best guess! Now I eat everything in moderation with a focus on plants and fruits. Fish mostly when it comes to meats : )

  • You can’t outgrow Tarot. It’s a map of consciousness, not to be used for trivia. To understand Tarot you have to read Jung and Joseph Campbell and understand universal archypes. If you don’t your understanding will be superficial like so many fortune tellers. Tarot is a map to direct you to a higher consciousness. The Fool card being the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last.

  • Victor: I came across your website as part of my feed. I have over a decade of experience working with substance-addicted persons as a clinician. I’ve been around addiction my whole life. I agree with everything you said, Victor. People can become “addicted” to anything that briings “pleasure” – aka “relief from stress and stressors.” I’m concerned that a comment about “addictive personality” got over 100 Likes… Please understand, folks, there is no such thing as an “addictive personality.” Addiction is a neurochemical condition in which the addicted person becomes dependent on a chemical that increases the amounts of neurochemicals already in our brains, like dopamine. It isn’t a personality issue, but a maladaptive coping tactic gone awry. Seeking pleasure is what humans are programmed to do – so we’ll stay interested in living and perpetuate the species. It might sound odd, but addiction is actually evidence that our brains are doing what they’re supposed to – we just have to learn how to use anything – including tarot or cannabis, or sex or exercise or wageriing or shopping or victimhood or depression or anger – that brings us pleasure, or even just a little relief – in moderation so they don’t cause more problems than they help us resolve. That’s the telltale sign of addiction. So, as has been the Wisdom from the beginning of time – Everything in moderation, kids! Thank you, Victor! An important message, indeed!. PS. Look at the numbers for Subscribers on the tarot websites.

  • I did a Tarot Reading for myself to see how long my mom would be with me (I was her caregiver), and the Reading said 72 hours. No interpretation. I looked at the cards and KNEW. That was on a Sunday night. She passed on the following Wednesday. However, I also know the Cards are not the answer and they should ALWAYS be interpreted in a positive way.

  • Tarot is a beautiful tool that can be used or misused. It’s divination or a wisdom tool, not fortune telling IMHO. It’s a way of communicating and working with Spirit and if you understand the purpose is not to tell you what to do or predict your future but rather to provide wisdom and insight for you to create your best possible future as well as grow spiritually than it can be a valuable ally…we must RESPECT the cards…there is a lot of spiritual power in them and often people don’t and wind up getting in trouble.

  • I totally agree with you. Not only substances, food, drink, and also people. I feel, and understand what you are saying totally. We as individuals, know, what me need, and what we don’t for where we are in our life journey. I am a mature Scorpio . Born November 3, 1958. At 1:58 a. M. Also dyslexic, which I have learned is also a great power an gift in my life. That you for sharing your views on all, my friend.

  • In my journey, I went through all the tools we use for healing and guidance like crystals, essential oils, herbs, tarot etc… but as soon as I would start using them for every little thing.. which comes from a place of fear and not trusting our own intuition or higher self, the crystals would fall outside, the bottles would break a dy tarot decks were destroyed by my cats. Spirit kept saying, you don’t need anything to website. Just connecting with the Supreme Source and the infinite intelligence of the universe and allowing things to flow, is enough. Ergo as a psychic and website I don’t use or need anything. They can assist us though. But like any other tool, using them when you feel disconnected and stuck and are unable to website. Even that has a purpose though 🙂

  • I was afraid to watch this… I thought you’d say some terrifying story! But you’re correct sir! I recently got into tarot & it was very addicting at first!!! I’ve stepped back quite a bit!! It made me realize I was obsessing on my future instead of living the NOW!!! 🙌 I will still use them here & there & I do love moon cards for inspiration or a “pick me up” … but definitely not every single day!!! ✨🙏✨

  • My Psychic development teacher in London twenty years ago told me and the class this. She said if you decide to read others with the use of Tarot cards, never use them to read yourself. Because it will cause you to become too selfish and you will spend all your time trying to decipher yourself. Only use it has a guide for your clients.

  • Good points made Victor. I’ve been through an obsessive stage with my tarot practice and it became a burden, like any obsession. I can’t tell you how many times I read various spreads knowing the solutions/answers beforehand using common sense and my intuition. Reading tarot for ourselves teaches us about ourselves and for me, a lot about the cards. I’ve reached a point where I don’t take it all so seriously when I approach the tarot. I treat it more like a game that puts me in touch with myself on a level that only the cards can do. I too love the artwork, my collection and the ritual that is involved. But like a lot of practices, my tarot obsession leveled out and I simply enjoy it when I enjoy it and leave it alone when I’m otherwise occupied with life’s endeavors. I think my ego played a huge role as I crammed my studies like my life depended on it. I only did that to learn as much as I could to be a great reader. But there’s always someone with more talent that is smarter and works harder. So basically, I was tormenting myself, in a mild way, just as I have with music, carpentry, painting, etc. At some point, I just lightened up and I’m still friends with the tarot. For some reason your story inspired me to make a comment far longer than I intended…😂😂😂! You are appreciated.

  • Like everything else its a relationship. I will never put them down. Sometimes i cant see whats coming no matter how many times i do them. Like now. That usually means i am doing them too much and i need a break or i just have to have faith in what they already told me. But they are the fastest way to communicate with spirit and i will never put them down permanently.

  • I use my Oracle decks only when I feel the need to use them in my spirit or if my spirit guides really want to connect with me through my deck. My Oracle deck is for motivational and empowerment purposes only. You can definitely get hooked on Oracle or tarot cards or anything else. It’s just being mindful and everything in moderation. Use your power and your intuition. The power is within you already as the creator creates perfect creators!

  • Thanks Victor for your perspective. I was wondering what you would say about Tarot because I’m a reader. But I see your points and too much of anything good can be bad. Tarot, marijuana, drinking, taking courses, whatever habit you may abuse. I always say you do it, don’t let it do you – and when it does it’s time to cut back. I’m at that point where I’m thinking I need to quit smoking pot for a while. I go through this phase quite often and luckily I can stop pretty easy. I always have more energy and a clearer mind when I do. It’s a habit that has been prolonging me from really getting after my dream and purpose. Instead of wanting to get to it – I’d rather smoke a joint when I get off work and numb (corporate world life stresses me out and I want something to relax when I get off, I’m so high strung) and then I don’t get to what I really should be doing. I’m thinking instead of smoking a j when I get off, I need to write that blog posts and then reward myself with a j. Until I can get out of corporate world at the end of the year, I know I’m using it as a way to get through this. lol So I’m in the process of really looking at my habits and routines – thanks to a course by Mia Brox, The Dreamer to Doer Academy.

  • I stopped eating all kinds of animal food about 2 years ago. But lately, I’ve been craving meat, and even fish. It’s like my body is begging me to eat it. One day, I did. It felt good, made me feel a fucking human being. But then I felt so bad, so guilty, for eating an animal. I hope this won’t last, I don’t want to eat animals at all. I will resist as much as I can.🙏

  • I feel like, if you are asking damaging questions like that – You are doomed to get these scary answers. Instead of asking “Is my daughter going to be okay?” maybe ask “What can I do to make myself feel more at ease in this situation?” Try to ask questions that doesn’t project answers on to people around you. But find answers for yourself. My advice, before stopping using tarot cards, is to use them for individuation rather that divination <3

  • As a professional psychic I would absolutely never take it upon myself to personally message someone outside of a session, never should they hear from me unless they sought for me on their own. What a nut job that texts a client about a dream, lmao. And yes nobody should ever be planting seeds of fear in this way, ever. Good article 👍

  • I seldom ever read cards for myself because it’s too easy to be biased in the interpretation for a personal reading. I will however, pull Runes for myself as there is no way to misread them, and their message is always solid. I have had a number of clients who have come to me because they have had another reader tell them they are cursed or need to buy things to make their life easier. I did readings for them, and EVERY ONE, had said that there were no curses involved and were being lied to. I find that people who become addicted to readings, are insecure and lack confidence, and need to be guided to be independent and trust themselves more. That is why I refuse to see them more than once every three months regarding the same issue.

  • Follow the Spirit, you will be shocked at what i eat or drink Spirit would just take you …We cannot question everything and we are not supposed to know everything, Spirit knows whats to happen when or must be done …Divine Timing. Relying on anything physical is not advised….let us trust in the Unknown. Thank you, been thinking about taking a break from tarots…it is driving me nuts at times. May the ones who are perusal you be guided. CHEERIO!!!

  • Your ability to share SO Authentically and yes, Teach your point, is moving into Mastery as you weave together different examples pulling forward the pinpoint information or idea needed to convey what you are trying to express in very well expressed and Aspects ways. Thank you Beautiful Soul as you continue to Inspire me ON to do the Same for What Calls My Heart ❤️

  • That’s funny what you said about your diet. I’m at the point right now where I can’t eat red meats and I figured it’s for a time and that chicken will come sometime after and then maybe I’ll cut out fish too and everything like you said. I was thinking it was all for a season. Just gotta feel what my body wants! And as for thc…I have a seizure disorder and that got me to try gummies. Im extremely sensitive and only have to use a small amount. I’ve found I’ve had great ideas/thoughts when I have it…some things become clear to me. But I can’t do it all the time or if I wanna accomplish something. Everything has its own time. Im glad I tried it. I was always SO afraid to try anything like that. And you know how it was drilled into us in the 90s about how “bad” it supposedly was 🤦🏼‍♀️. I honestly think that when they tell us things are bad for us, it’s really the opposite.

  • Victor, it seems as though you have lived my life. I, too had refined my eating habits to exclude many foods for an alternate diet that suited my needs, until it didn’t! I also lost so much weight that friends were telling me to eat a cracker! Lol. But, I felt great, until I didn’t. I now except the fact that change is good (and certainly constant) and I do not have to be in control of everything. I take it as it comes, focus on now and eat when I’m hungry…that is when I feel the best. It really is freeing to move in any direction with commitment but no hindrances. It’s a small lane, I know, but therein lies it’s beauty! Blessings always!

  • I’m not even going to lie, perusal this is so oddly similar to me. From the extreme fear of pulling bad cards and allowing it to spiral my life, to overthinking my entire diet. I had to take a step back and let life be life, and I stopped looking into the meaning of everything. I grew peaceful. Funny we had similar experiences.

  • very keen n wise observation Vic!this is a thing i love about u ..u make ascension sound very flexible and fluid provided we listen to our nner guidance ..n u seem to be so right ..i always count on ur advice n mostly ur right … Thanks Vic buddy for all ur advice..they r priceless..love n light to you 💖🙏🌟👼

  • I laid them down about a year ago when I found myself relying on them way too much and they would begin to confuse me more about my life. I could read for anyone else and help people who aren’t as spiritually in tune, but I already knew my intuition voice and I learned to just listen to that. I will read for seasons or big transits but mostly just keep them for their beautiful artwork.

  • Omg!!! This is insane how in sync this article is with my life down to the food!!!! Omg!!!! I experienced the exact same thing. Even lost 30lbs in about 3 months. Now I’m back eating fish, chicken and some meats like hamburger when I have a taste for it. Tarot can be addictive and I’ve found myself pulling back some and when I saw the title of this article I never clicked so fast!!

  • Thank you so much for this message. I was doing this exact thing just last night and relying on messages from my tarot deck. And when I didn’t get the message I wanted I got scared and fed into the fear. This is a tool yes, but even this tool can be abused. The best way to get any answer is to go within and build your intuition and I appreciate that reminder.

  • Wow Victor I am blown away! This resonates with me on such a deep level. It’s funny how the title made me curious enough to click on the article but then the message about your food dilemma was the thing that I related to the most. I had the same issues but am finally on track again, for now 😂. Wow the universe works in such mysterious ways. Thank you for sharing your experiences so that we don’t have to feel so alone during our life struggles. Someday I would love to try one of your retreats! Been a fan for a couple years. If it’s meant to be part of my journey then it will be. Love & hugs 🙏🏼💖🤗

  • I absolutely love and respect those who do tarot. BUT they can become very addictive and also there are readers who don’t tell (in my experience) how to do the things they suggested. One of them even chuckled because I didn’t know how to manifest money. I didn’t see that as funny 🤷🏾‍♀️Like saying raise your vibration without going to explanation. I wanted to learn a lot, was curious and just wanted to change so much in my life! I am grateful for the experiences I had with all of them (even the “lessons”) but I figured out that I just need to be freakin HAPPY! ❤😅 There are spiritual tools that help me a lot now but it all points to maintaining my happiness!

  • As a reader I always tell people not to read for themselves because when you do your ego gets in the way. Also there are a lot of people with mental disorders and addictive personalities that are drawn towards tarot and end up blaming the cards when they should be taking their concerns to a healthcare professional.

  • This been happening to me for yrs my body saids no take out and they taste so greasy in my tummy. Moving into salads and fish and chicken. As presence increases you go through changes. Need to stop smoking and will happen slowly. Sometime it tastes and feel nasty to me so on my way to drop it. I use to watch tarot cards too and enjoying them but slowly but surely will drop away completely sometimes I go weeks not perusal tarot as every else will fall away too. Get to the point they feel like fear base. I’m been on my own inner compass and don’t need to look at them anymore.

  • Glad you recognized your growth. Anything can be misused. For me, I created strict boundaries regarding reading my own cards, or those for others. #1 if my state of mind is shaky, no cards. Also, must be 100% sober. Also, I ask cards to let spirit come through with what I might need to hear…. not specifically directed questions, with no expectations. When used calmly without seeking validation for a specific answer, they’re eye opening. Totally respect your decision to let them go. If you’re ever seeking their wisdom again, you know from experience, how you’d need to respect their power.

  • I honestly stopped perusal you for a while now even though you were the first one that really explained to me through your articles about what I was going through back in 2017 and my first awakening wave. I used to watch your articles and Aaron’s before you guys became friends and that diving deep guy (I’m blanking his name out atm) and they were so helpful to me at the beginning of my journey. I’d pop in through the past few years. This is probably the first article of yours I actually really listened to even though the first time it popped up for me as a suggestion I had a strong resistance to (being a bit of a tarot reader myself but also always having unresolved fear around it so I thought maybe you were going to hint they are demonic or something 🤣🤣) but Im glad i listened to it. I love this article. It is absolutely true to me and I resonate completely. You are right. It is all waves. And everything has its time and place. Thank you, Vic. 🙏💛

  • Tarot cards were good for me because one of my hobbies is researching psychology. And tarot cards represent archetypes. But I had to stop doing readings for myself, cuz there’s so much uncertainty and anxiety and its feeding it. It was not helping me live in the now. I still enjoy my cards tho. BALANCE

  • This beautiful message Can be applied to everything in life. As humans we often overuse things to seek solace, comfort, pleasure. I found that I was over relying on astrology readings and half the stuff never came true that i was told was imminent! 🤷🏽‍♀️ anything can be done, used TOO much. Thanks for this reminder Victor!! 🙏🏽❤️

  • As I look at this again, I think the psychic who had a dream and texted a vague warning to someone was a sign of a newbie psychic. I think there’s a need for discussion about how to conduct psychic consulting for others. Some guidelines I have are: No fear images without instructions. Consulting a psychic is for showing people how spirit works and stimulating interest. Best to be done at festivals, and recommend a consult once a year on an anniversary. Recommend the individual build their own spiritual practice and developing their own intuition. I could go on for a bit, but the basic idea is the time may be now, for this discussion.

  • What does your diet consist of now? Because the eating regimen really hit home for me. Im calling myself plant based/ “vegan” for now but i feel like im always back n forth. I programmed in my mind raw vegan is the goal but should we really be that, idk would love to hear more from you about your journey so i can be more flexible myself. Thank you

  • If tarot reader knows to read tarot then cards are medium and tarot reading is based on past and current energy of the questioner or client. Tarot can heal and change your life as it guides on your path. Same card or different it doesn’t matter. Matter is if youf tarot reader can tell what you didn’t tell them even. We can make the solution and guidance when we combine the birth chart astrology with Tarot reading. Each Tarot card represents it’s own connection with each zodiac signs, house, planets and their combination. How both are different from each other. Tarot is for guidance, consultation, healing and connecting yourself to higher realms

  • Hey I’m an empath it’s great you are doing these articles and too me your classic example of the ups and downs but that’s a good thing.im going through awakening atm iv gave up drugs drink and now I am finding out my calling.i definitely think your articles are helping you aswell as others just dnt get too lost or confused is my advice

  • The Devil card may just have been your worry for your child being a bit obsessive, thus causing more problems than helping. Ironically meaning the same thing, you dont need to consult the cards you just need to consult a doctor. I think we have all been there where we overuse them. I call it a pendulum effect, its like finding the boundaries of the thing you are doing. But tarot is best when personal and working with the reader intuitively along with them, not just taking it in at face value of the cards so to speak. Anyways Osho Zen is a special deck, love that one. Oh and I think sending txts about dreams to other people, esp if something possibly inducing fear, is unprofessional. If you consult a psycic they gotta be professional. Just bc your psychic doeant mean your not stuck in a bunch of damaging egoic BS, lol. I think people forget that esp those looking for hope and guidance.

  • I really like your attitude. I think anything can become an obsession. Resisting obsession is probably the pertinent lesson here. Not to resist any particular thing, but whenever something becomes necessary or a seemingly unbreakable habit or go-to remedy, that’s when it’s a good idea to back off and think about it. Is it helping, or is it holding you back?

  • Dear Victor, thank you for sharing your experience with us. I’m a tarot reader, I do practice cartomancy. I’m also on my spiritual journey. The point for me is that I never felt the urge to use tarot for myself constantly. Believe me, I don’t ask questions about my concerns frequently, the other way around. It may happen that months can pass by. Because I have my intuition, and I don’t feel attached to them that way. Another thing is doing readings for other people, when they need them. You were doing readings on health. One should avoid that. Anyway, the death card it doesn’t mean physical death unless it’s with other specific cards. And the Devil just means virus, if the condition created by the virus is serious, it is shown by the following cards, not the devil card itself. If you want to make readings on health, you should know the tarot cards meanings very well. I don’t suggest health readings anyway. Have a nice uplifting life.

  • That’s true I only use my tarot cards when I need them and even if it comes out not so well I say ok prepare for what it shows and try to avoid it like when my ex came to fight me it showed battle and I let him in and pretty much he started fighting so the next time I say no u can not come today and I use it to prepare myself which now I cut him off completely this year. So that’s an example of using it to change what could happen and death card just means renewal new beginnings. I thought Aron said smoking lowers your vibration? To like 400 on the scale. Do u still use ur tarot once in a while?

  • Wow Victor 😄everything you have just said has resonate with me so much… This sounds like my journey ive been on these past which 5 years.. Wow 100% 😉I agree with you!! everything that you just spoke off… Is bang on!! Ive been perusal and following your article for a few years now. truly appreciate you sharing this article!! Absolutely resonates with me 💯% Awesome Victor… 😎 Stay blessed 💜

  • Wow Victor wow ❤️ so divine timely message 🙏 this is exactly what I’ve been getting recently regarding the tarot sessions I give as well as the way I deal with tarot as a querent. In fact I just opened YouTube now to look for a pick-a-card reading regarding health, and deep down I know it’s not going to serve me well because I better be trusting God for my healing process as I’ve already been receiving so many messages and synchronicities and revelations regarding this. Luckily, however, your article popped up and it was an extra reminder for me. Thank you Victor, thank you higher self, thank you myself, thank you spirit guides and angels, thanks God 🙏🤍

  • Hey Vic! Thanks for making this article. It was definitely timely and relatable, as I’ve been trying to overcome a tarot addiction. I’ve been perusal pick a card readings regularly on YouTube for years now and they are definitely not helping. It’s time for me to trust my own inner guidance and to just surrender and chill. lol Also, regarding the cannabis part and I’m not sure if you already know of this dude, but Ryan Sprague of Highly Optimized is a cannabis coach. He teaches others how to utilize cannabis consciously for spiritual growth and healing. Thought it would be interesting to mention, as it would be super cool to see you guys have a conversation! 🙂

  • Bravo 👏 not necessary to quit but never abuse it maybe a glimpse from time to time but never addicted so it happens mostly to people who are disparate and don’t rely on self guidance whatsoever keep faith in God and ask him…tarot from a super spiritual professional person can only show options that might or might not happen…watch out for fake people and abusers who use your emotions for likes and follows
