In the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Shiva’s overdrives are based on Str-based abilities, while her special magic abilities are based on Magic Stats. Shiva’s attacks depend on her Strength, not her Magic, and she is good for teaching magic to. She can heal herself with Blizzard/a and do heavy magic or overdrive damage to Anima.
Shiva can initially use NulBlaze and NulFrost to protect herself, or Heavenly Strike to immobilize foes. To unlock the Shiva Summon Materia, players must defeat her first. All four ODs are STR-based, with LCK helping to do critical damage. Shiva’s special attack is called Heavenly Strike, which inflicts the Threaten status, and her Overdrive is Diamond Dust, inflicting Ice damage to all enemies.
Siva’s abilities fall under a third category of “special” damage, meaning their power is based on Strength. Her special attack is called Heavenly Strike, which inflicts the Threaten status, and her Overdrive is Diamond Dust, dealing Ice elemental damage to all enemies.
In summary, Shiva’s overdrives are based on Str-based abilities, with her special magic abilities being based on Magic Stats. She can heal herself with Blizzard/a and do heavy magic or overdrive damage to Anima. To unlock the Shiva Summon Materia, players must defeat her first.

How to increase Aeon overdrive damage?
The Aeon’s overdrives are determined by their magic stat, while their special moves like Sonic Wings and Aerospark are determined by their strength. To raise the Aeon’s strength and Magic, players can raise Yuna’s strength. The Aeons can outstrip the overdrive’s damage with their quick attacks and moves. The FFX Perfect Sphere Master trophy requires clearing every lock, filling every node, and activating every node with all 7 characters.
Does overdrive use more power?
Overdrive is a feature in vehicles that reduces acceleration and maximum power, sacrificing top speed and performance for fuel economy and a smoother driving experience. Modern transmissions offer higher gearing for efficient cruising, making overdrive less prevalent in many vehicles. Ford, the only remaining American automaker, plans to continue building gasoline-powered muscle cars after 2024, with the 2024 Mustang featuring a new Dark Horse variant that outperforms its GT counterpart. Automatic transmissions in new vehicles typically don’t require manual activation.
Who is the strongest in FFX?
Tidus and Wakka are the most powerful Overdrive/Limit Breakers in the game. Wakka’s final weapon, Overdrive, is capable of inflicting greater damage than Tidus. Yuna, the summoner, is also a valuable asset. Auron, a formidable and charismatic character, is also a valuable asset.
Is overdrive for heavy loads?
Overdrive is a transmission setting that reduces engine revolutions per minute, thereby enhancing fuel efficiency and quietness on highways. It is advisable to deactivate the overdrive function when traversing inclines or towing substantial loads.
Why is Shiva so muscular?
The deity Shiva, as depicted in the Swaguna Brahman tradition, is not represented as a physically endowed male figure. Instead, he is a symbol of the concept of “Purusha,” which is often depicted as a muscular male figure. This representation aligns with the conceptualization of Purusha as a non-physical entity. This is in contrast to the conventional portrayal of a well-endowed male figure.
What are the abilities of Shiva in Final Fantasy?
Shiva, unlike other Eikons, is not fought as a boss and is primarily a playable character with abilities Clive can learn and use when equipped. She excels at staggering and interrupting enemies with her ice skills, such as Cold Snap, which allows Clive to quickly move around the battlefield. Cold Snap’s special feature is its ability to briefly freeze enemies, which is not immune to this effect. However, the best use of Cold Snap is to precision-dodge an enemy’s attack, casting Permafrost on all enemies in radius, providing a longer-lasting freeze effect.
Shiva’s default Eikonic abilities are Mesmerize and Ice Age. Mesmerize launches shards of ice that damage enemies and pull small enemies towards Clive, with a short cooldown. The damage and will damage are fairly good, and its short cooldown allows for fast damage stacking. Its pulling effect is useful against flying enemies outside Clive’s reach when grounded. Upgrading the ability adds more ice projectiles to the execution.
What is the most powerful form of Shiva?
Sadasiva, the Supreme Being in the Shaiva Siddhanta tradition of Hinduism, is the omnipotent, subtle, and luminous absolute manifestation of Shiva. He is believed to bestow anugraha and vilaya, or grace and obscuration of pasha, which are the fourth and fifth of the Panchakritya, or the “five holy acts” of Shiva. Sadasiva is usually depicted with five faces and ten hands, and is considered one of the 25 forms of Shiva.
The concept and form of Sadasiva originated from South India, although many ancient sculptures of him were obtained from various parts of India and South East Asia. The cult of Sadasiva was widespread in the region of Bengal during the period of the Sena dynasty, which traced their origin to South India.
Sadasiva is usually represented in the form of a Mukhalinga with the number of faces varying from one to five. The first sculpture of Sadasiva as a lingam with five faces was found in Bhita, near Prayagraj, in the 2nd century CE. His five faces, Ishana, Tatpurusha, Vamadeva, Aghora, and Satyojata, are known as Panchabrahmas (five creators), the emanations towards the four directions and upwards from the nishkala (formless) Parashiva.
The consort of Sadasiva is goddess Mahagayatri, a form of Parvati often known as Manonmani in Agamic texts. She is sometimes depicted having two arms and residing in the lap of Sadasiva.
How much damage does overdrive do?
Overdrive is an Empowerment ability that Neon can use to unleash her full power and speed for a short duration. It refills her Energy and equips her with a damaging lightning beam. Neon can use all her abilities and equip other weapons during Overdrive, but her Energy will drain until it is depleted. Overdrive lasts as long as Neon is consuming Energy, and its effects will end once the pool is depleted.
Overdrive’s lightning beam fires in a straight line with infinite range, penetrating through enemy agents but not through terrain. It is accurate both standing still and moving, except when airborne. The beam has an ammo count that reloads one by one if Neon is not firing or when she runs out of ammo. Neon can fire the beam while it is replenishing without waiting for the “magazine” to completely fill up, interrupting the reload. The “reserve” for this lightning beam is infinite.
Is Shiva magical or physical?
Shiva, a Hindu god of destruction, is a supreme and absolute deity, only rivaled by Brahma and Vishnu. Despite being a destroyer, Shiva is a benevolent deity who opposes premature destruction and endures suffering to prevent it. He is often depicted with four arms, a third eye, a blue throat, matted hair, a trident, and a drum. He is the consort of Parvati and the father of Ganesha and Kartikay. Shiva has been reincarnated numerous times, with Shankara and Hanuman being revered as sacred beings. Other gods, such as Harihara fused with Vishu and Ardhanarishvara fused with Parvati, are also worshiped as Shiva.
Who has the best overdrive in FFX?
The Blitz Ace move in Final Fantasy 10 is the most powerful Overdrive due to its capacity to inflict 99, 999 points of damage with each strike when Tidus is fortified and has reached his maximum Strength. This move is particularly effective when the conditions for its optimal performance are met.
Why is Shiva so strong?
Shiva is said to possess the ability to burn gods to ash and create powerful demons capable of decapitating them, due to his possession of a third eye. His proclivity for destruction will ultimately result in the annihilation of the universe, only to be followed by its rebirth and the commencement of a new era.
📹 Final Fantasy 10 HD – How OVERPOWERED! Can You Get BEFORE Shiva
Final Fantasy X, a Game with a few well known overpowered methods early on, however what about using absolutely everything …
I dont know why this came up on my recommended, cus I Havent played X since the PS2 days. And whilst I have the X/X2 remaster on steam, I think I have only started it once and thought to myself “yeah, time to relive some of those teenage years” but just not getting into it. But hey, for whatever its worth, seems like a lot of work was put into this article, and whilst I havent maxed stats in other ff games than ff7, this is cool 😛
I’m using the Standard Sphere Grid. There are 828 nodes total on the grid. 500 of these are pre-filled statistic nodes, 191 are empty nodes waiting to be filled, 60 are Sphere Locks (which you may erase with Key Spheres to become empty nodes), and 77 are ability nodes. (Sourced info from IGN) 828 -77 ability node’s = 751 usable node’s. *Can’t use clear sphere on ability nodes* 751 – 334 HP + 300 417 – 25 MP +40 392 – 63 Strength +4 329 – 63 Defense +4 266 – 63 Magic +4 203 – 63 Magic Defense +4 140 – 43 Agility +4 97 – 56 Luck + 4 I have 41 nodes left to play with. I haven’t kept any + 4 from these. So I will use more luck nodes to get 255. 56 isn’t enough on its own, my Tidus has like 243 luck. Then fill the other slots for more evasion and accuracy.
I actually No Sphere Grid’d this game back in the day. You want to talk about an insane challenge – shit was both rage inducing and incredibly rewarding. The only fight I didn’t do was Yojimbo and I actually regret it. Trying to work up the gumption to redo the whole thing just for that fight. Doesn’t feel like a complete NSG run without it.
expert sphere grid is way better if you know what to do. send kimahri (and later rikku) on yuna’s path. go to the point where you can learn ice magic and wait there with all 3 chars (Lulu, Kimahri, Yuna) till Luca. put in MP, HP and Magic Shpere so that all 3 chars benefits from. Same goes for Tidus, Auron and Wakka with the Attack Sphere from Blitzball. Then head to Mi’ihen Highroad where you get a Lv. 1 Sphere from a walking dude. From there you are free to level. Yuna and Kimahri can learn steal. Kimahri should have learned slayer (on ship to kilika). Kimahri will be the strongest magic user from Djose till late game because he get’s the +20% magic lance. another good thing is that Lulu, Kimahri and Yuna all meet the same point at Djose to profit from another +4 magic shpere. same applies to the other group of 3 with Tidus, Wakka and Auron focusing on Attack and HP.
Getting max stats in ffx is actually pretty insane. It takes weeks for the whole process. Even if you do get all the required items, it still takes SO much time clearing and activating each node. No sane human being would go through with it. There are ways to beat ever enemy spheregridless. Its better to use some of those tactics with decent stats. Takes way less time to grind out the autoabilities for this. If going no spheregrid and no zanmato then there 3 enemies you cant beat. Penance, Shuyin, and as an extension from Shuyin, Nemesis. Eveything else can be defeated No spheregrid no Zanmato.
I have done all of the stats except luck and HP. I have a few tailor made sets of armor and weapons. I have had no problems grinding those materials. The HP is just a bit time consuming. My catching point is luck. Grinding out Luck Spheres is just insane and I cannot bring myself to do it. After this article though, I might give it another shot.
I take it by the time you reach the end game content your normal progression nodes are already filled out. I’m asking whether I should be using the spheres that I’m collecting in cheats during the main story or if I should just wait until end game. How easy is it to back track to the needed/unused nodes?
I mean I went for max HP so had to take from other stats. Luckily not every stat needs to be 255, and magic is useless anyway so can be completely emptied if need be. As for MP you dont even need to quick hit against the dark aeons. Dark Yojimbo can be beaten in 45 seconds by just spamming the regular attack button and perusal a movie
I respect your grind patience. I’ve played ffx start to finish at least 20 times since it came out. One of my favorite games that never loses value of fun for me. I always imagine & theorize doing grinds like these, but I just don’t have the patience, time, or will power to do them myself. So I appreciate your work showing the results. It’s also nice to see others who truly understand all the mechanics of this game. Most people beat the game without even realizing the insane depth of mechanics put into this ff title. Hell, most people I’ve talked to about this game completely ignored Yuna’s strength stat because they didn’t realize Aeons stats scale off of hers. This game was truly a work of art, & thank you for exploring every little corner of it to share with us.
At 9:05, do not reset data if you want to keep your player stats. You can just reset the game (hold LB+RB+the two buttons that represent select and start), reload the game, and the prizes will change. It does taker longer than just resetting data, but if you want keep your player stats, it is worth it.
I did the beginning of this article with a couple of changes. I found out 100% that A:Wakka doesn’t have to be in battles to advance his reels in blitzball, and B: it starts counting battles from the beginning of the game. Knowing this, instead of getting Blitz Ace on the ship with infinite spawning scales, I just did a ton of battles off of the Al Bhed ship with Rikku. This basically let me get Blitz Ace a bit earlier, and primed me for the 450 battles so that I didn’t have to stop playing blitzball to advance Wakka’s overdrives. After i got my 6 teleport spheres (with 18 return spheres because i’m an overachiever and tied 3 ways on top scorer with Tidus/Wedge/Zev Ronso) I stopped resetting my data and I just restarted the game if the league didn’t give the prize I wanted. I think I had to do one extra league, but it was worth it to not reset level 30 blitzball players.
Fun little exploit (this will increase time taken to grind overdrives): after you battle a group of piranhas you can swim back to the ocean surface and return to the ship, once there the grunt on the back left gives you a stack of 3 potions when you talk to him. You just need to fight a minimum of 1 mob between talking to him and it resets. So if you want to go back after each fight and get a stack then save or go back after each time of using an overdrive ( what i did) its an easy way to grind potions early game, just time consuming.
With the lightning dodges Ive cracked it so its super easy. When you first enter an area with lightning it doesnt start striking until you walk a few steps in. So you take small steps till you see the first flash and when you jump back they dont come again till you edge forward a step once again and then boom jump back into the safe zone again. This way you know when its coming and it never catches you out. Repeat and rinse. 100% works.
PSA, you do not NEED to kill Chocobo Eater by pushing him off the cliff. You can get the two lvl 1 key spheres prior to the fight. There is an NPC on the road before the travel agency that gives one and you get another for a tutorial, which you can opt out of by saying yes when asked about reading instructions.
Primalliquid FFX BEFORE Shiva insane super grind hints and tips Tips: better with PC/Steam version in mind with 4x speed ability. Other versions times listed when described in article. Apart from Blitzball grinding for customizable abilities, it would take about 42 hours on PC to do pretty much all the below with the speed booster and 75 without, according to Primal. Zanerkand Tutorial / Start of game: – Faint Auron – Tidus learns Slayer & Loner OverDrive modes – Attack just the back 2 Sinspawns, – 60 turns leanrs Loner – 100 kills Slayer Tidus Overdrive Grinding (Switch to Loner) – Water Temple where Tidus lands, start grinding – 10 times for Slice and Dice – 30 times for Energy Rain – 80 times for Blitz Ace Rikku Ocean (Switch Tidus OD to Slayer) – Learn Slice & Dice – Steal Grenades Besaid Shop (after returning after leaving village first time) – Sell Grenades & Potions stock for Gil – Shopkeeper says her dog has Valefor’s second OD. Dog in top right house in Village After battle tutorials on Besaid Island – Go to save point before boat and go back 2 screens to long straight – Grind Tidus until he learns Haste SS LIKI BOAT SUPER GRIND – FARM XP, GIL & ITEMS – Set Slayer for Tidus BEFORE BATTLE if you haven’t yet – PRIME BLITZ ACE GRIND SPOT – Start battle with Tidus, Lulu & Yuna. Defend a turn each then swap in girls for Wakka & Kimahri – Infinitely Sinspawn… spawning – Tidus Hastes himself then Cheers party 5 times for maximum Attack buff then Haste Wakka & Kimahri – Party is now buffed up to one-shot Sinspawn for Overkill usually and you can never die because you out speed them – 2 xp per kill/3 xp per OK.
I used to love blitzball, but after 20 playthroughs of this game, I try to avoid it as much as possible hahaha! Wakka always misses out. I just fly through the game, get to the item customizations and get everyone elses ultimate weapons. Lightning and butterflies are nothing compared to that BB grind.
This is insane to me!!!! I am not a gamer at all, but I loved final fantasy X. I finished and started over like 5 times each time getting better and better. When u showed the sphere grid completely lit up after beside I just started laughing how freakin crazy that seems. Great job on this article and doing all that work
Want an insane grind? You can basically become almost Max powered for a 500 hour rpg before the first chapter of Tactics Ogre LUCT. Scaling is insane, especially for Archers, plus you can get two of the 3 best archers within 15 minutes. The scaling is hilarious because they kind of didn’t expect archers to get past damage threshold for some reason. Random drops scale up, so you can get some end game gear on the very first map, plus 3 stacks of +40-45% (Proficiency, Anatomy, Augment) damage, 15-25% off their bow, and the bow further gets extra scaling from the Augment above. In short, they are functionally running around double firing rocket launchers, and nothing can touch them. (You can even train them as other classes for even more bonus damage, making them about 15% stronger every time they Max a class). You can just leave them on AI control, and nothing should even be able to land a hit after a few fights. It’s hilarious, especially because so many reviews call this game hard.
Im actually going to be playing on and off and following your lead. already started in dream zanarkand, al bhed ship, besaid, ss liki, and kilika. Your articles are an inspiration, Primal. Until I came upon your website, I thought me and my best friend were the only ones to be true grinders. I basically did what you did in DZ, the al bhed ship and ss liki. but I used all the potions to heal Tidus and Wakka when they’re underwater in besaid grinding and sold all the grenades for early gil. then after liki I thought it would be cool if I finished Tidus, Lulu, Yuna, and Wakka’s paths in kilika woods(regardless of advisability) and got Kimahri a truckload of sphere levels while positioning him near the level 1 locks on Rikku’s path. so far Tidus and Lulu are finished. Yuna isnt too far from Holy. and Wakka is only about 20 levels away from being done with his path. then I figure I’ll get jecht shot(which is hard for me honestly), win the goers game and get started on blitz as I like it a great deal too(but am not used to not using brother, naida, and nimrook so that’ll be new) and grind for an even longer time in Mi’ihen thanks to teleport spheres. and then do Rikku’s full path and then some in thunder plains which I used to grind my ps3 playthru(this is on ps4 btw). when it comes to pure grinding I have a lot of patience but I learned a lot from you and once again just wanna say thanks for the exteremely valuable information.
I stat maxed the first time through this game when it came out. As fun as lulu’s onion knight hitting broken 9s is, I found it less satisfying at the end. Gotta say though this guide is giving me the itch to play it again! Might pick up the switch version and use some of the tips here. Didn’t realize you could get Valefor’s second overdrive right away like that!
So a lot of these I knew already, but in addition, the albhed boat that you dive off of to investigate machina ruins you can infinitely gain potions by talking to one of the albhed’s, by going a screen away then proceeding back, easy x99 potions early game. Also with my latest playthrough, I got bored enough to get x60 sphere levels and blitz ace for tidus on the boat to kilika xD….
I feel like I gotta ask, was it worth it? I know oneshoting some of the harder early bosses must have been cathartic but even not doing the blitzball stuff, (and I enjoyed blitzball but not enough to do that grind) it feels like it should’ve been a horrible experience. Although I gotta admit I would love to one shot Seymour with flare and I popped huge for that part of the article. To be fair though I’m gonna get slayer and loner in the prologue and slice and dice early also. I didn’t ever think to do that there cause you dont get exp for those fights so I just raced through them.
Primal Liquid in 2019 : playing around to become OP in early game Speedrunners in 2020 : Develop Yuna’s sphere grid in fastest time possible to make Bahamut oneshot Seymour and Yunalesca plus can be progress further for strongest Anima, easy monster capture, monster arena, and early dark aeons… Nothing personal but always great to see every player found things even in this year….
for those that see this, where I’m from, back in 2011, I was in a car with a friend when this ad starts playing on the radio. in this ad was the sad FFX music from the start menu playing in the background. this ad was for a pill to help with erectile disfunction. it was the funniest thing I ever heard on the radio.
This reminds me about a friend, way back whrn FFX was still new. He asked me some tips on how to beat the tank before Shiva as he could not beat it. After giving some advice he said would not work, I decided to take a look myself. Turns out he had no Idea you had to manulally level up in this game. So up to this point he never got stronger, yet kept going despite that. After helping him understand how to level and spend all those points, defearing the Tank was pretty much a breeze.
“If you’re on console, you don’t have access to speed booster.” (Weeps in PS2&Vita) -mid 2020 EDIT 6/2021 …and Switch) My Vita died just after I posted this. 30 hours of early grind wasted. Started a new game on Switch. This was the game which prompts a Switch turbo/auto controller, so you can let it run for a week on the Liki. (I’ve had turbos since SNES.). It makes other games sooooo much easier, just from random CRAP you can’t hold a button for.
Thanks, you have given me the motivation to play at 2:12 am lol. I just started a new game a few days ago (going for completion 10) and I wish I saw this then! I would have spent some time in zanarkand amd on the kilika ship! Theres always next time lol. Nice vid btw, definitely answered some questions of mine lol.
I’m really confused, I put 55+ hours into this grind with a turbo controller and my Gil total came up with 750k ish but my sphere levels were well below what your show. I did this grind on the switch and in 55 hours tidus only gained 48 levels with everyone else about 58. Any reason why this would be the case? I love your articles and hope you keep up the great work.
I did the auto-farm on S.S. Liki for about 9 hours at 4x speed and only got about 40 sphere levels. I did it again for about 40 hours and only got about 70 levels. This is much less AP/hour than the article claims. What gives? Was the farm nerfed on PC at some point? Edit: I did some math. If Tidus goes into battle immediately after learning Haste on the sphere grid, according to my calculations he should need about 732,564 AP to gain 99 Sphere Levels. In order to gain that much AP “overnight” (lets say 12 hours) you would have to be earning 61,047 ap/hour. That’s around ten times as much as you estimated you were earning. Were you lying about earning 99 sphere levels overnight or is my math way off AND my game behaving differently from yours?
Nothing I didn’t know. I’m a bit of a FFX guru myself. I was curious to see what methods you were using since (like you said) most of the game breaking level grind methods are near the end of the game after you gain access to the monster arena and the airship. Must say I’m impressed with the guide since there aren’t many ways to get stat spheres at the start of the game. Good job!
Before perusal: “I wonder if he’s going to do Gamebreak Kimahri with early Holy” I will edit this once I have watched it EDIT: I was right; he is going the Holy Kimahri route (which btw for anyone who didn’t know about it until this article; Holy route Kimahri will make it so he can solo the entire game until the bonus content (IE the Dark Aeons and Penance); that is just doing the Holy route. Doing everything else that is done in this article where you go for Flare on Yuna and Lulu and Holy on Kimahri will more than break the game; even the bonus content; right off the bat; especially since you can get break damage limit on Kimahri and Yuna really early compared to a lot of the other party members to easily erase most foes).
Ok so swordplay 4 attacks Gotten thru overdrives. Loner speeds up overdrive. 10x slice n dice 30x for energy 80x for blitz ace -use against fish and spider -switch to slayer when ???? joins -swim around and steal grenades get slice n dice Continue story. When party leaves Besaid renter talk to shopkeep and sell grenades n potions. -she mentions her dog (Editing) Still editing to come back when I have time to play. Game is awesome so far just past boss 1 even. Excited.
So uh.. If anyone else wants to get somewhat overpowered before Shiva but values their sanity and time (This only requires about 2-3 hours Grinding in the thunder plains).. If you use the Expert grid you can move Tidus Wakka and Auron to the same Area right After Luca, to let them all get the Str +4. Then in the thunderplains, Dodge 50 Bolts to get 3 str +4 Spheres. Tidus and Auron once again have a point where they almost overlap where there are 3 empty nodes, so Put them there and let both of them get +12 Str. Then a little further on in their paths, Tidus gets Str +3 and Auron gets Str +4, but you can give the 3 to Auron as well, and 4 to Tidus by using a lvl1 key sphere. You will go from around 800-1200 Damage to 3000-4500 Damage. You will need to grind some Sphere levels though.. I Recommend using Lulu as your Third, and getting her to her Aga level spells at the same time, and going from roughly 1.5k Damage to 4k. After that point you never have to grind again, if you’re just going to beat the game. You’ll get enough Stats by naturally playing the game, for the rest of the main story.
Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone wondering. I used a turbo controller on console (Xbox X) w/o x4 booster approx. 46 hours. Only got 48-50 S.lvls per character & 575k Gil…it wasn’t enough to be overpowered for the rest of the game so it’s still fun for me at least. Made it less frustrating in some battles but still had to be careful once I got to thunder plains and you can buy all those things you probably wouldn’t before like TKO, Moon Ring leading into Mi’ihen, or give o’aka 10,001! Unfortunately, Xbox gave me 2 weeks before controller was banned because it’s not “approved/certified” but can still use on PC/Steam
I used the level grind hack on the SS Liki. I’m on console so I used the turbo rubber band trick, which was working great. I let it run for 40+ hours, as soon as I beat the Fin, the game goes to a cut scene and freezes. I’m so absolutely livid. Have you heard of this happening before? I’m playing the remastered version of the game, not on a disc. That shouldn’t have happened.
For anyone perusal this guide in 2020, AUTOBATTLE IS DISABLED FOR THE SINSPAWN FIN FIGHT! The farm still works, but you CANNOT AFK farm it anymore, meaning you will need to either own a functioning Turbo controller or sit there and mindlessly press X/A for hours. Holding down the button doesn’t work either, so don’t try and rubber band this fight. If you have the patience to do this, it technically still works, it just needs MUCH MORE PERSONAL EFFORT on part of the player.
For anyone trying the sin scale farming, this article is most likely using a speed hack on top of the 4x booster. You need at best 540,000 AP for your first 100 sphere levels (the actual amount is likely higher due to pre levelling in the story). With a 4x booster you can kill the sin scale on a 4.8 second cycle. Assuming 2 overkills per cycle (8 ap per cycle), you would get 100 AP per minute, 6000 AP per hour, which needs 90 hours of farming for 540,000 AP.
Blitzball is probably one of the easiest “mini-games” in the history of FF, presuming you get the ultra-cheese known as Jecht Shot. Get the ball to Tidus, get Tidus close to the opposing goal, basically guaranteed scoring every time. Being able to 100% bypass 2 (and later 3) defenders every single time makes it easy, and basically zero goalies can stop him if he’s close enough. With some decent passers just play keep-away until time is almost out, score, win, repeat.
I personally started defending with waka and kimari when tidus got his overdrive once I got Energy Rain. This allowed me to kill all 3 scales at once with Tidus which brought his overdrive gauge back up to like 60% so he only needed 2 more meaning I could get one od use every 3 sets of sin scales instead. Got Blitz Ace pretty quick
I’ve maxed every character, every stat 255 across the board, every character every skill, every magic entire grid. Mined the monster arena top to bottom a million times and it still never gets old. Replace every single sphere that isn’t a 4 and once you’ve got your stats 255 across the board you fill all the extra empty sphere spots with hp spheres, customize a break hp limit shield and you can get your characters up into the 70,000 hp range and more powerful than any aeon including anima and magus sisters, and yojimbo . Getting luck to 255 takes forever but it’s worth it because your critical hits go way up and the chance of being caught in a full party critical attack is greatly lowered.
I just finished playing through this game again for the first time in probably 20 years or so. I had Yuna learn Lulu’s black magic spells and doublecast. Then I just bumped up her magic stat. Thought I was pretty badass when I was thumping the endgame bosses with just Yuna and Lulu. But I’m still a novice when it comes to game breaking apparently
10:21 There really is no reason to keep Jassu and Botta on your team. You can get more return spheres by playing 5 out lineups, doing this by getting as many players tied for top scorer as possible. So what you want to do is dump everyone on the Aurochs except Datto, and then recruit, Biggs, Wedge, Zev, Shuu, Shaami, and Jamal. Use Shaami and Wedge as your “defenders”, Zev can play defender as well but he’s a bit slow. and rotate the rest of the players through the other positions. If you get all 7 of your shooters to the the highest score, and they are all tied for the highest, you will get 7 return spheres. I always get 7x top scorer in every league, it’s quite easy once you know what you are doing. If you’re only getting 2 at a time, you’re not maximizing your rewards for time spent.
I want it to try this game for second time since 4 years ago, and this its wonderful!!! There are some questions that I have but it’s beacuse english it’s not my first lenguage so understand 100% might be a problem, so if there any way I can see this in a scrip would be nice because reading its a bit easier than hearing! Nice article!! I hope i can do everything
Watching this now, this is absolutely just for a “what would it be like” kind of thing… Steam version lets you just get all items and such from built in cheats, meaning you can essentially max out everyone and give them stuff like the “break limits” as soon as rikku joins. And can effectively have a maxed out Tidus (and ???? rikku) before even reaching besaid.
I’m currently using this method on an Expert Grid playthrough and I had to put a pause for a couple weeks while waiting for a turbo controller from Amazon. At first I didn’t realize you had to hold the button down for turbo to work so I had to get a pack of rubber bands from the store but still needed something for the rubber band to keep the button pressed so I got a couple coins to keep X down. Because I’m doing the expert grid I have to modify your strategy for this since the high level stuff like Flare and Holy are in different areas and require keys to access them. Currently I’m halfway through the Sin fin fight so I’m ready for level 99 everyone tomorrow
If you are playing on the Steam version of the FFX/X-2 Remaster, you can actually use Auto Battle for the Sin’s Fin fight, it only turns it off during the opening “tutorial” portion where it’s telling you how to attack distant foes. Once you get its HP down by about 5-600 you should be able to turn it back on and leave your team to massacre the Sinscales for a few hours.
Wakka does NOT need to be in your party for the battles to count concerning the Blitzball tournament stuff. Source: Me playing my first 3 or so playthroughs of the game with a team consisting of Tidus, Yuna, Auron. Sometimes swapping Yuna or Auron for Lulu. Also, official Piggyback guide book. It doesn’t say there specifically, that Wakka does not need to be in your party, but it does say, that you just have to win those battles. If you did need Wakka in your party, the book would say so.
i actually 3/4 out my sphere grid before Ifrit… and oh boy, imma tell you it was long… so against Sin before Luca… just kill the ads and not sin… i put haste/3x cheer, and had turbo controller, taped and put weight on it… went for 14 days, and ill tell you when i finished I got over 800 sphere grid points
I received 4x lvl 1 key spheres after defeating the chocobo eater (not pushing him off the cliff) on the Nintendo Switch version of FFX/FFX-2 remaster using the standard grid, I took note of it because it was only 2 days ago and I wanted lvl 1 key spheres at the time. I just tried to double check and all information points to 2x keys if you push him off but perhaps the Nintendo Switch version is different and nobody has took note of this properly yet? I’m tempted to reload the save and try this again to make sure I’m not going crazy since I save each time in a new slot.
i played through the game speedrun style not stopping for anything but only ever using 4 characters ever.starting with tidus wakka and yuna to eventually replace yuna with rikku(3 swimmers means all fights can be done) by the time i did the seymour fight wakka got first turn i threw normal atk and 1 shot him.i think 2 shot anima than 1 shot again.never stopped for anything. my friend tried to say against this but ti seems exp is divided by used characters.the more u use the less they get respectivly so use less to get small group of op.the part where u all are arrested yuna can handle it with aeons and the early exp so only part u can’t use the 3
Nowadays you can fully complete the sphere grid before leaving besaid, the steam release added a really dumb option to unlock all consumable items and didn’t bother to exclude all the spheres. And the option can be reused as wanted allowing you to nevermove max sphere grid. (edited in note: all consumables option includes master spheres)
I think I was grinding for levels wrong. I gathered as many levels as I could and got yuna and lulu to share abilities. Got wakka all his own abilities and move to auron for the piercing and attack boosts then ignored him forever. Got Titus auron and kimahri to learn all of their abilities and share each others abilities. Got rikku to get her own stuff and learn some of yunas and some of Titus skills.
Hello, i would like to say that there ir an easier way to get overpowered before Shiva in the ffx hd edition, and its simple by using all characters in aurons and rikku path for the str and agi spheres. First you need to get all 7 characters, and then abusing the X4 speed game, frecuent encounters and autobattle, you start to grind like a madman and to be truth in like 3 hours i got every character like with 50+ str, 30 speed and 25 dextery and ending each battle in like 10 seconds. That’s the easiers way to grind ffx and ffx-2.
The thing is, I was a little kid back then stuck before djose temple because I didn’t understand that you’re supposed to put two spheres on both sides of a monument so it levitates and put a foot hold at one part so I was literally grinding on that one spot that had enemies where AURON and tidus had a little talk. Safe to say I was already at endgame at that point.
I would hate to add more blitzball to the list but you neglected to mention the most broken weapon ability: Evade and Counter. It doesn’t just mean you’ll counter IF you evade. It means you WILL evade and counter. Anything that can be evaded will be, so it’s essentially better than a free 255 evasion stat. It’s so broken it makes some battles impossible to lose. And it only costs one teleport sphere.
hmmm I think they changed the XP metric since this article was released. I just finished 11 hours of grinding and got between 32 and 41 levels for all characters. I am playing on PC with the 4x booster on and a macro to push the action key every .5 seconds. I have done the test on both the expert and normal grids and got the same result. I am going to test again tonight and see what I get with a full 24 hours but with the increased level scaling I don’t think 99 levels is really doable at this point in the game anymore.
I wanted to do a blind playthrough of this game to see how far i can get and i did pretty well so far but yeah i wish i followed the steps here up to this point because its such a grand at a certain point in the game and bosses are just one shotting me w ease and i have no idea how to effectively grind properly with the systems in place for this game, it feels simple but also way more complicated than any other ff game i played and its dampening my experience of the game a little, i wish i can just finish the story at this point ahahaha
The guide is very helpful, but a little confusing. I think we have different regional copies, because my sphere grid doesn’t look the same as yours. Also for me Flare is in the top left corner of the sphere grid so there’s no possible way unless you grid for over 99 levels to go from the right middle of the sphere grid all the way acrossed to the top left corner. Also this process takes more than 4 teleport spheres. So you have to use another guy to find more or grind blitz ball for more teleport spheres.
While the level 1 key spheres from knocking the Chocobo Eater off the cliff are nice to have in general, they’re not necessary. Someone gives you a level 1 key sphere on Mihen Highroad. In all my play throughs I hold off from moving on the sphere grid until Mihen highroad so I can give everyone steal and use.
test test, mic check 1 2 do you ever check/read/reply ya comments? cuz i’d like to say and ask a couple things: 1) first and foremost, i want to thank you tremendously for these “shortcuts” in the spheregrid and getting stronger far earlier than usual. just a question bout the first infinite spawn with Tidus, NOT TEEDUS idc what anyone says, even the creators, its TIE DIS (such as TIE DIS AROUND YA NECK SO I GOT A GOOD GRIP GIRL — jokes jokes ;P), do you kill auron with Tidus or do you just let him die? seems time efficient to kill him off like i do to focus solely on grinding up tidus kill count and not getting confused. 2) At what level / how many + which specific sphere thingies do you need to unlock Haste on Tidus before you get to the first Sin first where the second infinite spawning Sinscales? it doesn’t say this or #1 but this part is extremely important because i went into WITHOUT having Haste, but I also learned you could stack Tidus’ buff multiple times on the party, i never knew you could cheer 5x. and when i googled further info, it also doesn’t go away when you swap out a party member in emergencies to heal Tidus, since I didn’t have “na na na na nana, you can’t touch me” Haste lol.. So I’d sincerely appreciate it if you’d let me know or if anyone who sees this cuz I see it was uploaded 3+ years ago and last comment was 2+ years ago so idk if you’re still around, or if anyone will ever see this or ever reply. But if you could just put little pop up thingies (i forgot what they’re called, its not CC) but i guess notes?
dont forget to mention that the stronger your characters are by the time you reach mt gagazet the more over powered the bosses will be.i had mt characters so over powered that it took over 45 min to beat the ronso brothers cause thier health was so maxed out at like 18 million and demmi only did 9999
It is impossible to get 9999 damage before Shiva. The best you can achieve by the Thunder Plains is the spells ending in “ra” I.e lv2. Black magic and around 1,500HP and 400 atk. The Sinspawn don’t give enough AP and anyway you’re restricted by level 1-4 key spheres and the amount of levelling spheres you have. You can max out after 200+ hours of gameplay and at the monter arena.
I understand you’re doing this with examples and taking it to the extreme in the sense that you’re saying what CAN you do… but for a casual player, this is roughly 9-10 hours of gameplay and honestly just basic half-assed grinding of Sphere levels throughout those first 10 hours can completely ruin the mid game lol. I would always grind on Behemoths after leaving Luca for sphere levels and even that would borderline break the game! Cool series, wish I had time to watch them all!
I’m playing through with these strategies and I’m seeing that if you don’t have a turbo controller half of his strategies can’t work. You need a day worth of AFK level grinding on Liki to get all those sphere levels. I grinded for like 2 boring hours by hand and got like 12-15 levels per character. It also takes like 2 days of blitzball gameplay to get enough teleport and return spheres, and you can’t leave Luca because that’s where Zev, Bedge, and Jumal are located.
