Yoga’s ancient roots are deeply rooted in spirituality, not witchcraft. Misconceptions about yoga often stem from its’magical’ portrayal, but its true magic lies in the scientifically-backed benefits for the mind and body. Swami Vivekananda writes in his book Raja Yoga that a series of exercises, physical and mental, is to be done every day until certain higher states are reached. The Bible does not specifically address yoga, but it addresses spiritual practices from other religions in various contexts, often emphasizing the occult influences.
The Bible also discusses the concept of drugs, which are translated to English as witchcraft. Invoking spirits by sound, such as mantras, is a practice that involves invoking spirits. However, practicing yoga should not be confused with witchcraft or demonic practices. Witchcraft involves manipulating demonic hosts through incantations and spells, as well as communication with demonic spirits impersonating the dead.
The Bible teaches that each person will stand before God to give an account for their life, and practicing yoga as a means for relieving stress and building flexibility and stamina can lead to spiritual growth. Yoga is part of a system of idolatry, which includes beliefs in crystals having powers and Eastern meditation. The Bible also mentions witchcraft and warlocks, but it does not mention any true spiritual power in yoga.
The Kundalini awakening falls under the category of witchcraft, as Kundalini spirits are never mentioned in the Bible. The Jewish and Xian religions have always hated witches, but when the King of Israel was killed, the Bible may support witchcraft.

What does the Bible say about doing yoga?
The text emphasizes the importance of equipping children to distinguish between issues that the Bible clearly addresses and those over which Christians have some disagreement with how to apply biblical principles. It highlights that there is nothing in the Bible that explicitly states that thou shall not do yoga, but rather that these are things that are taught in scripture that we should believe and follow.
The Bible is clear on the deity of Jesus, his attributes, and salvation through Jesus alone. It also outlines certain commands for sexuality, such as being chased by unmarried individuals and being faithful to their spouses. It also teaches us to speak the truth, put away falsehood, and be kind and compassionate to one another.
When considering various choices as Christians, such as media consumption, career paths, and practices like yoga and meditation, it is crucial to teach our kids to understand the difference between these two things. If someone denies the deity of Christ, they are not a Christian because they are not following Christ. This is because the teachings of Christ are clearly outlined in scripture, and Jesus is God.
In conclusion, it is essential to teach our children to distinguish between issues that the Bible directly addresses and those that Christians disagree on. By doing so, they will be better equipped to navigate the world and make informed decisions about their beliefs and practices.
Can Christians do mudras?
The Trinity Mudra is a Christian yoga practice that helps individuals focus on each part of the Trinity and deepen communion with them. By practicing individual mudras for each part or all three at once, students can experience profound intimacy with Christ and tame the monkey mind. Mudras, meaning “seal”, “closure”, or “gesture” in Sanskrit, are used in meditation or pranayama practice to direct energy flow within the body. They can also be referred to as hand positions or postures of prayer. The practice is explored in biblical scripture and can help students connect with Christ and their spiritual journey.
Can Christians do meditation?
Meditation is a crucial spiritual discipline for Christians, as it helps shape their thoughts, character, and actions. In the Old Testament, Psalm 145, a poem about God’s character and works, encourages meditation on God’s attributes and actions. This practice shapes a person’s thoughts, character, and actions. Psalm 1 and Psalm 119 also call for meditation on Scripture. Psalm 1 explains that regular meditation on the Bible will nourish the soul and help resist sin, indicating human flourishing.
In the New Testament, passages like Philippians 4:4-9, Colossians 3:1-3, Romans 8:5-7, Hebrews 3:1, and Hebrews 12:2 encourage Christians to focus their minds on God and his plans, aligning their thoughts, emotions, and actions with God’s purposes. These passages also encourage believers to focus on Jesus, filling them with hope and enabling them to emulate him. The writers of these New Testament passages emphasize that a person’s thoughts determine their future, making meditation a critical spiritual discipline for followers of Jesus.
Was Jesus a yogi master?
Resurrection has been understood by Indian yogis since the highest ages, with Jesus being a realized yogi who mastered the spiritual science of life and death, God-communion, and God-union. Jesus demonstrated complete mastery over his body, mind, and nature throughout his life and death. The true meaning of resurrection is understood through the yoga science that defines the principles by which Jesus resurrected his crucified body into the freedom and light of God.
No other science has detailed the descent of the individualized consciousness of God as the soul into man and its evolutionary and spiritual ascent back into Spirit. In this modern age, Kriya Yoga has been brought forward as a method to hasten the spiritual evolution of human consciousness and open the inner cerebrospinal pathway of ascension.
There is a beautiful accord between the teachings of Jesus Christ to enter the “kingdom of God within you” and the teachings of Yoga set forth by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita to restore the King Soul, the reflection of God in man, to its rightful rulership of the bodily kingdom.
What is considered witchcraft in the Bible?
Exodus 22:18, Leviticus 19:26, Leviticus 20:27, and Deuteronomy 18:10-11 all prohibit the practice of necromancy, divination, and soothsaying. These laws are portrayed as foreign and are the only part of the Hebrew Bible to mention such practices. The presence of laws forbidding necromancy proves that it was practiced throughout Israel’s history.
The exact difference between the three forbidden forms of necromancy mentioned in Deuteronomy 18:11 is uncertain, as yidde’oni (“wizard”) is always used together with ob (“consulter with familiar spirits”) and its semantic similarity to doresh el ha-metim (“necromancer” or “one who directs inquiries to the dead”) raises the question of why all three are mentioned in the same verse. The Jewish tractate Sanhedrin distinguishes between a doresh el ha-metim, a person who would sleep in a cemetery after starving himself, to become possessed, and a yidde’oni, a wizard.
In summary, the prohibition of necromancy in the Hebrew Bible is a significant aspect of Jewish history.
Can Christians do aerial yoga?
Aerial yoga is a distinctive practice that is accessible to all individuals, irrespective of age, gender, physical condition, or personal beliefs. Is it okay for Christians to do yoga?
Yoga, a platform for physical, mental, and emotional wellness, can benefit Christians in the same way as all practitioners, regardless of their religious beliefs. Self-awareness, a concept in yoga, is universal and involves achieving mental clarity by focusing on the present moment. This is applicable to both yoga and Christianity. For yoga practitioners, self-awareness is an objective, while for Christians, it serves as a means to an end. Through self-awareness, Christians can identify faults and circumstances that hinder their connection with God, promoting a deeper connection with their spirituality.
What does the church say about yoga?
The letter acknowledges that physical bodies can influence prayer, and the Catholic tradition does not include physical postures or breathing exercises. A prayer group member shared their struggles during COVID, and the author enjoyed spending extra time for yoga, meditation, and prayer. However, a woman expressed her opinion that yoga and meditation, which are not Catholic, can lead to dark places. She used to practice these practices, which led her to a bad place, and she believes that meditation is not supposed to be practiced.

Who was the first witchcraft in the Bible?
The Witch of Endor is a female sorcerer in the Hebrew Bible who was visited by Saul, the first king of Israel. Saul had banished all sorcerers and conjurers from his kingdom, but was concerned about the outcome of Israel’s battle against the Philistines. He disguised himself and asked her to conjure up the spirit of the prophet Samuel to tell his fortunes. The woman, who reminded him of the law against practicing her art, assured her that she would be protected.
The spirit informed Saul that he and his three sons would die in battle the next day and that the Israelites would fall to the Philistines. The story of the Witch of Endor has inspired further embellishment of her practices, with Chaucer referring to her as a “pithonesse” and Guillaume de Salluste suggesting she used a “flambeau” made from her son’s fat in her necromantic art.
What are the three sins God will not forgive?
Alma, a prominent figure in the Christian faith, had a profound teaching moment when he interviewed his son, Corianton, who had become involved with the harlot, Isabel. Alma warned Corianton that he was guilty of three abominable sins in the sight of God: denying the Holy Ghost, shedding innocent blood, and committing sexual sin. Adultery was third to murder and the sin against the Holy Ghost. To understand Corianton’s sin, he needed to understand its relationship to the two most abominable sins, enabling him to realize the possibilities of repentance and forgiveness.
Alma distinguished between unpardonable and pardonable sins. Unpardonable sins cannot be paid for through the atoning blood of Christ or personal suffering. The only sin that falls into this category is denying the Holy Ghost. All other sins are forgivable or pardonable because the demands of justice can be met through the atonement of Jesus Christ or personal payment by the sinner.
The Apostle John taught that there is a sin unto death, and there is a sin not unto death. Elder Bruce R. McConkie argued that the death John referred to meant “spiritual death”. There are sins for which repentance does not operate, sins that the atoning blood of Christ will not wash away, and sins for which the sinner must suffer and pay the full penalty personally.

In my daughter’s elementary school they introduced it. Thankfully my daughter had known about it through my knowledge and she refused to do it. When they contacted me I fully supported her so they couldn’t force her. We have to teach our kids at home and not let these people indoctrination come in to our home.
I am also an ex certified yoga instructor. During the pandemic I didn’t want to gain weight after being laid off work and I had just had a major back surgery the year prior so I was looking for gentle exercise when I found yoga. It helped me more than the back surgery did I lost 30 lbs and more fit than I’ve ever been before in my life and I fell in love. That was 4 years ago. About a year ago I didn’t understand why the yoga wasn’t working I was depressed I was more anxious than I had ever been and I was very very confused I couldn’t keep anything straight in my mind and I couldn’t understand why. One day I was meditating and I literally felt like I had reached enlightenment. A total out of body experience but at the same time I was still looking through my third eye and I saw a spirit figure whom I thought was God come walking toward my third eye. It wasn’t until later when I was reading my Bible and ran across the verse that says Satan masquerades as an angel of Light that I realized it was not God I saw and everything related to yoga was immediately stopped and removed from my home. That was about 6 months ago and I have not done yoga since. What I realized is this. How yoga is brought to us in Western culture says it’s just physical exercise however having immersed myself totally into that lifestyle I can tell you that because it was originally created as part of Hindu religion as as worship to the gods and every single yoga pose is a worship position to one or another of their 300 million Gods there is no way to separate the spiritual part from the rest of it.
This is also one main reason I think… Jesus has guided me to remove my kids from school and start homeschooling… I am grateful to the Lord for getting me connected to many Christian parents in Mumbai n india who are homeschooling their kids.. Love u Lord.. Praise u Jesus.. Thank u Jesus. All glory and honour goes to you Amen
Brother Vlad. Thank you. I have almost got into yoga with advice from a friend years ago for my stretching muscles . But I have always been a true believer in Christ. The urge to do yoga has presented itself to me many times through the years. But something always held me back and I just believed it to be laziness to take on such a structured lifestyle. But now I know thanks to you telling this truth that it was always my Lord holding me back and away from this evil. As a matter of fact it was just this week that I thought of starting it because I restarted exercises. I truly love my Lord Christ He has repeatedly in these past two years shown me guidance in such a way that I definitely knew it was Him. He done it again tonight. Praise God .
Praise God I found this article! I started a new class today, I’m a junior in high school, one of the requirements to pass the class is to do yoga. I spoke to my teacher and asked him if I had to do yoga. He told me that I had to participate and if I didn’t it would lower my grade. I told him that yoga was against my religion and I wouldn’t be able to do it. He straight up told me, “How is yoga and walking against your religion?” (we also have to do these walks around the campus). I was really shocked at the way he spoke to me, it was like he was mocking me, but either way I explained to him that there are certain poses that praise other gods. He said, okay and as I awkwardly left the classroom, he asked me what my religion was. I told him I was Christian. He used to be a Christian too.
I am from Nepal (a hindu populated nation)…..and the things brother sayin rn is all true…..people here arent fond of yogas and all these stuffs but now i am getting how satan is using yoga to disrupt the faith of weak believers in western world marketing it as a physical exercise and slowly distracting their faith from Christ…..please do pray and preach what is the truth🙏🙏🙏Thank you pastor vlad
When I was 16 I was on an acid trip by myself and saw an image of buddha in my closet. That gave me a desire to look more into eastern philosophy. I also was doing yoga and began to have spiritual experiences. I was hungry for spiritual encounters, that I would wake up at 4am everyday to practice yoga sometimes chanting, meditating, opening up chakras, and listening to eastern teachings to enlighten myself, getting high on psychedelic drugs to find my purpose. But the only one who could fufill my spiritual hunger and identity was Jesus. I used to think Christians were ignorant, hypocritical and narrow minded. Even my dad would warn me of that yoga had demonic orgin, but I thought he was just too religious. Pride is what covered my eyes and decieved me to believe lies from the devil. I thank God for taking me out of darkness into His glorious light. I was blind but now I see! Thank you, Jesus. There is only one way to the Father, and the Word of God is Truth. After reflecting on trauma and resentment I had over certain people in my life, I realized I needed to change the way I thought and felt to really grow. Yoga and meditation and drugs and worldly philosophy does not change a person’s heart. At best it suppresses the symptoms, but God is the only Healer and lover of my soul. He is the one who changed my desires and my thoughts to be conformed by His Spirit. Once I realized how rich in grace God was to forgive my offenses, it was easy to forgive the people who had hurt me. God saw that I wanted to change but was not sure where to go from there.
I was deep into the new age and yoga practice and everything you could think of! I wanted to have that enlightenment of my chakras and thats when I started getting intense back pain. To help my back pain I did MORE YOGA. 4 years later and after finding Christ no doctors could help me and I thought this is how I would be forever in my 20s and not able to even sit down without being in pain. Thats when I found deliverance and every time we renounced and rebuked the witchcraft new age and kundalini etc etc etc I had sharp pains in my back that worked its way up my spine and out of my chest it felt like. The pain is GONE and I am free PRAISE THE LIVING GOD. I was trying every thing under the sun for my pain other than looking to Jesus to help deliver me and heal me and my pain was a physical manifestation of all of those practices. I was cured from depression and anxiety that I have had for 14 years that everyone and every other church said that I would just be that way forever… THIS IS REAL STUFF. Thank you Lord 🙏🏼🙌🏼 I hope this helps someone! In Jesus name all Glory to God
