FYI for 8:30, “UPDATE SINCE 1.03: They nerfed Royal Knight’s Resolve to only affect weapon you have the ash on. No longer works with spells or other weapons, so this is no longer useful.” FYI Copied from someone commented on another article about Royal Knight’s Resolve. So yes this charm is still viable if you have high physical damage negation.
Just a heads up, if you give him the amber starlight and talk to him a few times he gives you the magic scorpion charm. THEN if you don’t rest, but ride right up to Ranni, you can give her the knife and continue her quest. You just have to remember not to fast travel or rest at a grace between giving him the starlight and her the knife.
The reason it didn’t provide better result for the sword is Because it only increases the magical damage of the sword and not the physical damage. It’s a 12% increase in Magic damage. For a fully upgraded moonveil with dexterity and intelligence at 55 or 80 the damage increase would be far greater and definitely worth it. P.s. if you’re going to use it for the moonveil, then I would recommend combining this with shard of Alexander. As that is an additional 15% damage increase specifically to your weapon skill(ash of war) which does magic damage.

I like how this quest has actual moral choices in it now, the quests are becoming a lot more interesting in elden ring as certain quests can actually affect other quests and even lock you out of them sorta like new vegas if you make certain choices, I like this a lot and I hope they continue to expand on quests in future games or dlc, having multiple options gives you a lot of control

I gave Gideon the potion. I went to the hidden chamber and broke it open. I then read the golden message that said it was Seluvis’s puppet, then I went to Seluvis and there was a dialogue option to ask him about his secret chamber. After he spoke to me about breaking into his chamber he then said I was his accomplice and offered me one of the two puppets. I’m super excited that I saw your article because I really truly wanted the finger maiden puppet. In Order to give the Potion to Gideon, you need to progress Nephelis Quest until shes in the Basement of the Roundtable Hold. This Happens after she leaves, then u find her under the Bridge in the Albinaurics Village. I then killed the boss, couldnt find her anymore and went to Roundtable Hold. After talkin to her in the Basement i could trigger an Conversation with Gideon about her and give him the Potion.
3:25 Cannot confirm, but I have heard from various corroborated sources that another way to activate the additional puppet shop dialogue option is to simply drop a starlight shard in your possession in front of him, then pick it back up again. It’s not clear if it’s necessary to do it in front of him or if any location will do.
So I was just able to start and finish this entire quest line after getting the dagger in Nokron. Had the dagger in hand, was on my way to Ranni, but I stopped by Seluvis and thought, what’s this dude all about, so I looked up your article and glad I did. Got a nice pendant out of it, and got to see Ranni turn me to ashes for not brushing my teeth.
In the end when you give her the tonic and go back to Seluvis he is already dead. Im guessing since he was Ronnie’s proper underling that she had him killed and thought we were swindled by him and let us live however if you do not leave her she does kill you ahahaha. Starlight Shards – if you have them already, go to Inventory find a Starlight Shard, click on it and click “Leave” It will drop on the floor. Pick it up. Leave game completely. If you are on PC then Alt+F4 and on PS5 go “Close Game” when you come back – the dialogue will show. You can do all this in front of Seluvis, no need to stay by the Grace.
Once I retrieved the amber starlight he did NOT give me the charm straight away. I had to go through extra dialogue regarding his scheme. Choose “iam interested” (don’t worry you don’t have to go through with it) immediately afterwards he should reward you with the magic scorpion charm. I’m on NG+5 btw Hope this helps anybody with the same issue
The person that is dead at the end of the article the holder of the puppets or something like that before u beat selvus’s questline and they die dropping their bell bearing they will sell you a celestial dew, an ash of war, an old ruined map, and some other things as well. So make sure u get those things off of that person before finishing the quest line killing them
Are the summons for dung eater or Nepheli worth getting? I think I’d prefer not to turn her into a dummy personally, it just seems wrong lol. Unless one of them are like the best in the game or something? And I’m assuming the dragon somber stones are better rewards than getting the summons right? First of all, he was too much of a smartass (hahaha). Secondly, as I progressed through the game at some point further on I actually found his Tower with his drip gear laying there (to which I had no idea why), when I was doing the Renni/Ranni quest line for one of the endings. I kept thinking it was the other Tower with the door locked, but while I was fighting the dragon until it disappeared is when I located it. Dis shitz crazy! 😂
you can click Not to give her the potion as well she wont send you away and you dont have to waste a celestial dew but you will have to wait until you give her the knife to finish his quest. tried going to church of vows and couldnt do anything. tried dropping the mixture it doesn’t allow. reseted a few times talked to seluvis and ranni in both resets and nothing. seluvis just keeps saying to give ranni the potion and all she says is “…”
Am I the only one who couldn’t give the Amber draught to Ranni. I progressed her storyline to the point where she goes into a deep slumber (which isn’t that far after talking to her members and then started Seluvis’ quest) I make the draught but she was asleep. How far did I have to progress her quest to get her to take the draught. Or did I miss my chance. I already F’d it up after giving her the blade from the Eternal City. But when was I supposed to give her the Amber Draught?

You don’t need to buy all the spells- I didn’t have the Runes for it so I just got the 2nd Puppet and then the dialogue option became available. I may have had to fast-travel to the nearest site of Grace first though- I forgot, but either way just an FYI in case anyone doesn’t have the Runes like me…. though I do want those spells so I’m grinding for them anyway!
ive tried everything ive seen in the comments to get the option to buy puppets but nothings working for me i bought all the sorceries, dropped a shard, moved shard from the chest and back, passed time 48 hours, restarted my game. ive gone back and fourth so much just because i thought dung eater would be kinda fun as a puppet. lmk if anyone else is with me
3:55 in what moment of the game lore there;s even a small glimpse of corelation that finishing this quest would trigger another event in case you find another completely unrelated item on the world? also, sometimes only work after you restart the game. why did a thing like this got the game of the year lmao.
So for me, I got Seluvis to the point where I can ask about his scheme and I even got the amber starlight. But when I came back with it, he isn’t in his rise anymore. Iji is missing and Blaidd isn’t there at Radahn festival either. Is this a glitch? Note that I have progressed Ranni’s quest upto talking to Bladd down at Siofra River depths.
I have a question? I done all the Seluvis quest till where we have to give potion to Ranni but didn’t gave her the potion and want to do her quest. If I do the Ranni’s quest after obtaining the amber starlight potion and just keep it, and when after completing Ranni’s quest, Seluvis still dies (Iji too and we kill Blaidd) can I then get the Nephali Loux puppet, without disturbing the Ranni’s slumber? (I have the amber starlight potion in my inventory didn’t gave it to Ranni).
Someone please HELP!!! I gave the potion to the dung eater when he was strapped to the chair. Then I accidentally killed him after I gave it to him 😫 now when I go to Selevus, there is NO OPTION to tell him the task is complete. And therefore I can’t complete selevus’s quest line?! And I can’t even get the dung eater summons now?! Worst of the worst. Makes me want to quit the game. I’m PISSED. How do I fix this?!

I gave Ranni the “ring” and obtained the Moon Sword thing BEFORE giving her the Fingerslayer Blade (so now I can’t get the inverted statue, the Ansel fog door is blocked, as well as Renna’s Tower door). It seems I’m completely stuck. I finished Seluvis’ quest after this, trying to “fix” what I’ve done.. I have the Magic Scorpion thing now, but now I can’t progress on anything anymore. Any tips? Also, says I don’t need absolution. IDK what to do bro! lol
So I got that magic scorpion thing from him now what’s the fastest way for me to get the woman puppet I poison for him I already have dung puppet and sleep puppet I’m not worried about getting the witch ending cause I’ve already platinum the game. I just tried giving the witch that poison and it killed the puppet master so i just dropped over the hill and got the last puppet i needed lol
I gave the potion to nephelli, when she appears first time at round table hold, and now i’m stuck. Both sellivus and gideon are giving me no further dialogue (i visited sellivus secret chamber with sellivus pupet inside). So now, i dont have the potion anymore and i cannot progress any dialogues…anybody have any suggestions?
rennie dosent show up in her tower in my game I’m playing offline and some of the mpcs don’t show up either tried everyting noting worked had to continue playing without a few quests making the game harder and very frustrating i take it the game was made in a hurry and loads of mistakes were made that why patch after patch was brought out i dont play online and my game basically is fucked
