Does fermented tea have less caffeine?
Kombucha, a fermented beverage made from black or green tea, contains around ⅓ of the caffeine content. While the fermentation process reduces the tea’s natural caffeine content, about 8-14 mg of caffeine per 8 oz serving remains. GT Kombucha founder GT Dave, who drinks two gallons of booch daily, can feel the caffeine. If you’re strict about alcohol and caffeine but still want a refreshing, vinegary beverage, try a sparkling switchel, herbal oxymel tonic, or DIY vinegar shrub.
Lemon ginger kombucha may not give you a buzz, but it might be the probiotics talking. This cocktail is perfect for a test drive, as it offers a taste of “original” (unflavored) kombucha. For those who are strict about alcohol and caffeine but still crave a refreshing, vinegary beverage, try a sparkling switchel, herbal oxymel tonic, or DIY vinegar shrub.

Is black tea non caffeinated?
Tea leaves naturally contain caffeine, with black teas having the highest level due to their most oxidized leaves. However, civilization has developed ways to decaffeinate tea leaves, making it accessible to those sensitive to caffeine or those who enjoy late afternoon teas. Decaf teas, commonly found in black and green tea, contain minimal caffeine, usually 2 mg per cup. Caffeine-free teas, such as mint tea, rooibos, and chamomile, are herbal teas that naturally do not contain caffeine. Both terms are not synonymous and should be used interchangeably.

Factors such as growing region, plant varietal, age, leaf age, season, field conditions, soil nutrients, and rainfall influence the caffeine content in plucked tea leaves.
Does fermented black tea have caffeine?
Fermentation is a crucial process in making certain types of tea, such as black tea and pu-erh tea, which contain higher caffeine content than unfermented tea like green tea. This process involves the enzymatic oxidation of tea leaves, resulting in the formation of dark pigments like theaflavins and thearubigins. Fermented tea can be classified into light-fermented, semi-fermented, fully-fermented, and post-fermented tea. Light-fermented tea includes white and yellow tea, semi-fermented tea includes oolong tea, fully-fermented tea includes black tea, and post-fermented tea includes pu-erh and dark tea.
Unfermented tea, on the other hand, has green leaves and gradually turns red as fermentation progresses. The color of the tea liquid indicates the degree of fermentation. Unfermented tea typically has a vegetal fragrance, light-fermented tea a floral fragrance, and fully fermented tea a ripe fruit or sugar fragrance. Fermentation also affects the content of internal substances in tea, such as caffeine.

I tried this and ” IT WORKS!!. Before learning this, I was afraid I would never loose my menopause weight gain that involves a stomach, I tried everything exercise this that that and the other nothing work I was depressed!. When I came in contact with this here angel an honest man, I tried this concoction and it worked I have lost a lot of weight I was at 185 pounds when I started I am down to 165 in a short period of time… It is so refreshing to have Good honest human being still on this planet when the world is consumed with greedy monsters who will steer you wrong just for the dollar!
As a type 1 diabetic here in the UK at 42 yrs old, I’ve struggled with weight most of my adult life, more specifically around my gut. I’ve never really been fat fat, just had a large gut & it’s bothered me for years. 4 yrs ago, I started to hit the gym & I’ve reduced my body fat % & increased muscle mass where I am now muscular, but still have a large gut & I just couldn’t get rid of it & I’ve tried everything. Well, I stumbled upon this about 3 months ago & thought why not. So, for 2 months I had exactly what he described every night 1 hour before bed. I changed nothing else in my life that I was already doing & I went from 18st 4lbs to 16st 2lbs. My body fat % fell from 32% to 24%, a very clear & noticeable drop. So this for me is amazing & has helped my mental health as well, because my large gut was really getting me down a lot. I will say however, having this every night caused my bloody sugars to drop more quickly during the night than it otherwise did. I didn’t notice anything until about 5 or 6 days in when I started waking up due to low sugar levels & despite a little snack or sugary drink to bump my sugars up, I had to lower my insulin requirements for the food I ate for the last time that day, usually my tea or dinner non Northerners call it. So this also helps diabetes control, but you should be aware of the sugar level drops during the night as a result of too much insulin, so this has helped me in my weight & diabetes control. So I have to say a big thank you from this Yorkshire guy from England :0)
I used too be a very fit healthy well built guy, and competed internationally as a javelin thrower then injuries got worse and then i became a type 2 diabetic and struggling as ive gained weight and my injuries prevent me from ever training again, my sleep is very poor, i tried your drink recipe, and already after a few days ive been able too sleep AND slowly dropping bodyfat, thank you as this simple yet powerful drink literally is saving my life!
Hello doctor .. respect from the core of my heart. I am a working woman and mother of two with 2 c section delivery. I thought that i would never have a peaceful sleep after becoming a mother.. but thanks to you that you changed my perception. Last night i had an amazing sleep may be after 5 years with this remedy.. you are such a saviour that i felt even thank you will be very small to acknowledge your help.
Am going to try this, am not considered overweight, I workout 4 to 5 days a week cardio and weight training, I should be lean around my belly area but due to menopause I have a belly I can’t get rid of, I no longer date or wish to have an intimate relationship with somebody because I can’t stand to see the look of disappointment any more.
I started taking this back in July. And what I have experienced is that about 5 to 10 minutes after I’ve consumed it I start getting sleepy. I normally wake up with headaches, but after taking this they stopped. It’s sparked up my metabolism. I started walking 2 miles daily, now I am up to 5. I have lost 25 lb, and down two sizes. Thank you Dr. for sharing this information with me. -Gloria
Thank you once again, Dr Mandell! This is simple, practical, and exciting information I can actually do. I will be trying it right away. And thank you to all your kind followers for providing their helpful feedback! We are truly grateful that you cut through all the BS to give us sound advice that we can actually use. ❤
I am a firm believer that God has given us in nature all the ingredientes we need to become healthy. We depend so much on medication for everything and it kills us. For a long time now, I have resorted to natural medicine for everything. That along healthy eating and exercise is all you need. Thank you Dr. Mandela for your tips and wisdom. I have been following you for some time now. I appreciate all the information.
I used to be a bodybuilder for many years. Now at 56 years of age, I decided about 5 years ago to take some time off. I had some nagging injuries and had moved so I wanted to rest a bit. Well weeks passed and then months and then years. I got lazy for the first time in my life. My body did not go to shit overnight but it did eventually. The next thing I knew, I was 309lbs and was breathing hard just going up a flight of steps. I also had gout like symptoms and overall just felt crappy. I was on the road to a heart attack. So I got my lazy butt back in the gym and started to do some research. Thats when I found Dr Mandell. I went back to a more limited body building eating approach and added some keto principles in (not 100% keto). I then found one of the Dr’s recipes (ACV, cinn., black pepper, turmeric, ginger and cayenne red pepper plus a fresh squeezed organic lemon). Through the combo of working out, eating properly and the drink (in the morning on an empty stomach), I am down to around 270 but I added a ton of muscle so my guess is my net fat loss is around 50-55 lbs. 270 may sound heavy but I was a body builder for over 20 years and was a big boy. I can actually see my abs peaking out now and my waist in down at least 5-6 inches. My plan is to get down to around 245 and maintain. I am 6’2 so anything less and I would look like a string bean. In short, this stuff the doc is talking about works. My gout is gone and I also have no more heartburn, which I was taking some nasty drugs for.
Hi dr Mandell. My wife tried this tea exactly as you did here and it technically helped her sleep very well. Though in a few days, there were blood from her stool. Does any of the combination here might have been the culprit? (cinnamon or the paprika or the black pepper or any of the combination of these?) any insights would be of a great help. Thank you 🙏
I thought this was one of those diet gimmicks again but I kept trying it for 2 weeks even though I’ve missed a day or two and believe it or not I’ve lost weight I went from 214 to 206 and I just checked my weight today I couldn’t believe it I just want to say I am well pleased. Thank you for your article
Dr Mandel! I appreciate you so much! You give us the straight information without a bunch of information we don’t really need and without making is pay through the nose for it!!! You are a true healer and I am greatful! Can’t wait to try this! I’ll let you know how it goes! Thank you again and bless your heart!!❤😁👍🏼🤞🏼🙏🏼
the pandemic was the last straw for my gym.it closed forever.between lockdown and menapause starting at the end of lockdown even though i was working out during lockdown i have put on 16 pounds and have menapause belly.i tried the apple cider, cinnamin, lemon with camomile tea and i work out 5-6 days.they don’t work. i wanna lose 10-12 pounds. i will try this and see what happens.
I’ve been putting this into my elixir before perusal this article: * ground Turmeric * ground Ginger * ground Cardamom * ground Cinnamon * ground Black Pepper * ground Cayenne Pepper * Honey * Ghee Then I put in hot water to the cup with a splash of milk. Now, I think I’m going to add the paprika, too. The ghee is for the turmeric as it is fat soluble.
I took this elixer last night. Let me say that I have night leg cramps and my feet are always cold. The first thing I noticed is that when I went to bed I had NO pain in my left hip and my feet were warm. I slept all night with no pain for the first time in months. Thank you dr. Mandell. God Bless you.
Trying this for the first time tonight and I must say that its very tasty 😋 I used my Keurig for the hot water and used raw honey. Its a delicious drink, I enjoyed it and this is something I can definitely stick to doing regularly. Im also a type 2 diabetic who needs to bring those numbers down so hopefully this will help as well as burning the belly fat. Thanks Doc!😊
I have to tell you Doc this was surprisingly tasty. I replaced the honey with monk fruit but I was pleasantly surprised. The pepper added a nice kick that even cleared my sinuses for a few minutes. There was a lot of sediment at the bottom of the cup though, despite quite a bit of stirring. As far as sleep goes, that remains to be seen. I’ve been suffering from insomnia for years and nothing seems to work. Thanks for the recipe.
You are truly a breath of fresh air in this toxic environment that we live in. I avoid the healthcare community and big pharmaceutical giants as much as possible. I am a strong believer that our bodies can stay healthy if we give them the right tools. Thank you for providing “THE RIGHT TOOLS” You are a blessing to us. 🙂
What would happen if i added 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/4 tsp ginger, 1 TBSP coconut oil and a cup of warm coconut milk, whole cow milk, or goat milk instead of the hot water? (assuming no coconut or dairy allergies). This recipe from Dr Mandel is rather close to Indian Golden milk, which is used in the evening to promote relaxed sleep and in the morning to promote alertness. I’m wondering what would happen if I combined the 2 recipes?
Just finished my self experiment with this concoction for a total of 7 days and I have to say that there was no change whatsoever with my weight and belly fat. My diet and exercise level remained the same throughout and still no change unfortunately. If this works for you then great but it unfortunately did not work for me.
Tried it several times, and it defintely didn’t help me sleep. It actually made it harder to fall asleep, because I was so hot and my heart was beating more quickly. I also tried the technique suggested in one of his articles regarding clearing sinuses, and it didn’t work either. Take everything thing he says with a grain of salt, and do a lot of research yourself.
I tried this last night, I thought this was something I had to chug or gulp down because I thought it would taste terrible.. But actually, I liked the taste, it tasted really good. I also slept like a log, I woke a few times cause I have a 2 y/o who doesn’t sleep through the night but other than that, when I did sleep, it was the best sleep I had in 2 years. When I woke up in the morning, my stomach was flat, I was shocked, I kid you not!! I still have excess belly fat from pregnancy, but in the morning, you couldn’t really tell, it got rid of all the bloating and a few inches off my waist in just 1 night!! Before I ate anything in the morning I drank the warm water, apple cider vinegar and lemon concoction and I have to tell ya, I went to the bathroom to do #2 twice in one day!! and that never happens to me, I usually go once a week or twice if I’m lucky, or sometimes I’ll skip a whole week! I felt slimmer in one day, clothes and undies that fit snug and tight were loose!! I’m gonna keep doing this everyday!!
Thank you so much Dr Mandell. Your information and advice have helped me a great deal since I found your articles about 6 months ago. I love the meridian tapping – it has helped me tremendously with sinus problems and headaches. Thank you for your generosity of freely supplying all this wonderful information. I am very grateful. From Christiena in Western Australia.
Thank you DR. Mandell and God Bless you! you are a great blessing in my life, I had sruggle with abdomen fat for years and to no availed I hah not been able to lose it down untill I been perusal your articles I tryed the drink of cayenne pepper, lemon, honey and olive oil and have now lost 2 inches in 4 days! I am now finding out my waist. I have to say that it acually tastes very good now I want to try this one at night time since the other I been taken it in the morning before meals. I am so happy 🙂 Thank You, Thank You! 🤗💖💙💜👍🙏🙏🙏
I am just fed up doing everything.. since three years i am doing my workout religiously and still can’t get what my heart desires. I am continue to get injured. Despite of healthy diet i am having severe breakouts at the 25. My hair is a nightmare. And i am not even in my perfect shape. Nothing works. I am at edge to give up.
Thanks for the great advice! 🙂 I think it is worth mentioning that if you use raw honey (which means that it has not been heat-treated), it’s important that you allow the brew/tea to cool down below 40 degrees celcius. (104 Fahrenheit). Because otherwise a lot of the healthy properties in the honey are destroyed.
Wow, after two weeks of sleepless nights due to alcohol withdrawals and financial stress, I tried this drink last night just to see what happens. Now let me tell you, for the past two weeks, even though I’ve been sleeping at around the same time (11ish pm) I end up regularly waking up in the middle of the night and also constantly tossing and turning and having a very light sleep. Doesn’t help that I’ve suffered from sleep apnea most of my life. However, last night is the first time in a long while that I slept like a damn baby and woke up quite fresh. No grogginess, nothing. I’m hoping this wasn’t some placebo thing, so will keep drinking this regularly before bed and report back. Thanks doc!
I’m definitely going to try this because I sleep very well. However I get up to the three times at night include in the morning to use the bathroom. I really want to sleep through the night I’m nervous that drinking is 30 to 45 minutes before bed will have me to keep going to the restroom but I will report back thank you thank you.❤
Good Morning Doc! Is it recommended to drink the Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar with lemon in the mornings and drink the Cinnamon/Honey mixture at night? Is it ok for individuals to drink 1 mixture in the morning and the other mixture at night, or should an individual choose one of the mixtures for a day? Thanks so much!
This man is a blessing let’s give him his flowers now. 💐 He knows what he is talking about i had bad stomach issues that prescribed medication couldn’t even cure. I couldnt eat at all or drink anything without paying the price for it until i watched his article on fennel seeds. I immediately went to my local store and bought the seeds and began taking them and my digestion has taken a turn for the better. This man is the truth if you want real results please listen to him. Thank you a million times doc.❤
Brilliant absolutely brilliant, tried the lemon and olive oil today helped me fast still haven’t eaten a solid since yesterday, and yes I feel full of energy. I have taken about boiled water and soaked the lemons overnight giving me 2 litres of fluid and had milky coffee throughout the day and not felt hungry once. Thank you Dr Mandell here starts my weight loss journey I have so battled with until I started to watch your articles.
This is a gem of a article. I’ve struggled with belly fat around the waist for years. We should be talking more about how foods can be healing miracles! The food industry is dictating what we eat and there is little education out there about what is damaging to our health. I tried different things for years to lose fat without success, until I found ..
This will be a start of the day thing for me. I know honeys sugar is different from processed sugars, but the idea of goong to sleep with the sugar on my stomach doesn’t sit well with me. Regardless of what sugar it is, sugar is fattening. With that said, ill stsrt my day off. And I’ll even contradict what i jist said in a couple of weeks. And that is because i work out before going to bed. So my body is already burning calories after im done and even by the tine i get into bed. So maybe addig this to whats already happening will help some. So everyone, 🤞Lets go. Ill even take some before and after pics.
Dear Dr.Mandell, DC, I love love love your articles, especially since the first ingredient is my name, in your drink I may have to change my ginger tea and cinnamon to your recipe tea drink, I’ve been loving my drink but I’m sure yours will be even better, after hearing about the anti inflammatory things in paprika you told us about, thank-you thank-you thank-you so very much I really enjoy perusal your articles, stay safe, safe travels take care all the very best 🙏😃💜❤
Thank you for this great advice. I’m tired of countless people with half-hour articles promoting their “propietary” and ridiculously expensive concoctions. One question, though: for those of us trying to lose weight, how long should we drink this, or is it safe to keep as a daily practice? Thanks so much!
Doc I can’t thank you enough for all the amazing tips you give out, I’m trying all your tips, and let me tell you doc, my body is feeling so amazing, I’ve changed the way I eat took your advice, and they all really work wow, so amazing, thank you doc Mandel, keep giving out more tips, your awesome doc thank you Doctor Alan Mandel ur really amazing 👍👍👏👏👏👏❤❤❤
None of these spices are water soluble, it makes more sense to make a salad dressing out of these. ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil 2 tablespoons lemon juice (or vinegar of your choice) 1 tablespoon honey (or maple syrup) 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ½ teaspoon sweet paprika (smoked paprika works too, for a deeper flavor) ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper Pinch of salt
Dearest Doc Alan Thank you always for your amazing articles. I love them. I thought this drink would be difficult to have, but it’s really tasty. My question is, how long will it take to notice a difference? I do follow a healthy eating regime, but unfortunately, exercise is a bit of an issue for me as I have problem knees. I used to be a fitness fanatic but can no longer enjoy sport, because of my knees. I am also post-menopausal. Do you have a specific article for sore knees too? Thank you always. You are the best. Elaine from South Africa
Its 12:30 at night, i was not able to sleep, so tried this some 15 mins back. My feet are feeling warm. I m not sneezing which i usually do once I lie down in my bed. So far so good.. I will update here/add another comment if i am able to sleep tight. I do rigorous exercise, but have lot of belly fat. I will update on that too . My fingers are crossed
i am deeply interested in Ayurveda and have been studying it for 4 years. Ayurveda says that heating honey to above body temperature turns it from medicine into poison. Vedic texts are usually written in a colorful way which require some thought to be understood, but in terms of its view on heating honey it is very clear. I am also led to understand raw honey is termed so because it has not been heating up to high temperatures so that it can easily be transferred into a squeezy bottle during production. I think your combination is a very powerful one, except i would let the water cool to tepid before adding raw honey. I’d like your view on this please.
What I have found after trying this for two weeks is that although my skin and muscles felt a bit loose, the fat under my skin did not go down. The fat became more ‘flabby’, more softer. But my muscle mass decreased considerably. For example I had really refined and firm strong chest and arm muscles. That gave me a lot of power in my upper body. But now after trying this, my muscle mass has drastically reduced and my firm chest muscles now have become floppy and look soft and fatty . Not sure whether this is normal ? But losing a lot of muscle mass and not the fat under the skin cannot be good. Does anyone know why this happened or is it a part of the process ? Iam a bit worried about this now, as my muscles are now fatty and floppy. And my upper body power is reduced. Also I had previously had long COVID for a while. Could this be causing a negative affect with this method ? thanks
Good morning Dr. Mandell…i m from India…i m bit confused as i started taking warm water+apple cinder vinegar+lemon juice as per one of your article and now i want to try this too, but both things are to be taken empty stomach and i want to take it in morning..please guide what to adopt…me concern is belly fat. Thanks
Hi, I have been taking this for about 2 weeks at night as advised along with the morning drink of Olive oil, honey kayene pepper, lemon juice and honey right before breakfast. I have been losing weight by doing this along with a balanced diet but I am now getting severe buttock and pelvic pain. Can you advise, could it be the thermogenic properties causing this pain. I am a male, retired paramedic and I’m at a loss ?? Many thanks Ivan
