The question of whether the devil can attack us and what authority does the devil have remains unanswered. Church authorities and secular governments have historically viewed witchcraft as a heretical and dangerous threat to Christianity and social order, leading to thousands of individuals being subjected to torture. The Bible vehemently condemns witchcraft, but it does not hold relevance for Christian witches who believe they connect to God through their witchcraft.
Witchcraft was common in pre-Christian Europe and was an ancient pagan custom for those who believed. However, many witches suggest that the practice of witchcraft can be compatible with Christianity, but virtually everyone realizes that witchcraft trusts in a power other than God. Since it is opposed to Christianity, its true origin is with Satan (cf. John 8:44).
There are Christians who practice witchcraft within a Christian framework, but this is not Wicca. As an expert in ancient magic and early Christianity, I study how magic helped early adherents develop a Christian identity, which included morality and inner values. While there are plenty of Christian witches, some do not like Christianity. Many initially attracted to supposedly more “innocent” forms of witchcraft may be more attracted to darker forms like Wicca.
It is important to understand that not all witches are the same, and not all witchcraft is the same. As followers of Christ, we should not endorse the idea of witchcraft, as it goes directly against God’s Word.

Can Christians go partying?
The Bible does not prohibit celebration or the consumption of strong drinks, such as wine, as it does not prohibit abstinence from alcohol. However, the Apostle Paul’s advice to do all to the glory of God is crucial in understanding these do’s and don’ts. Drunkenness is presented as something to avoid and resist, as it opposes the goods of sober-mindedness, alertness, and freedom. The Proverbs equates addiction to strong drinks with folly that destroys lives, rather than the wisdom that gives life. Alcohol can become a master demanding obedience, and the Christian should strive for a new mind governed by wisdom, truth, and the pursuit of God’s glory.
Examples of Christian friendships and celebrations include C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, and the Inklings, who shared ideas and stories at a local pub, and the Inklings, who gathered at a pub for a celebratory drink for a friend’s new job. Celebratory drinks are different from those used to numb pain or medicate anxieties.
What is the sin of witchcraft in the Bible?
Exodus 22:18, Leviticus 19:26, Leviticus 20:27, and Deuteronomy 18:10-11 all prohibit the practice of necromancy, divination, and soothsaying. These laws are portrayed as foreign and are the only part of the Hebrew Bible to mention such practices. The presence of laws forbidding necromancy proves that it was practiced throughout Israel’s history.
The exact difference between the three forbidden forms of necromancy mentioned in Deuteronomy 18:11 is uncertain, as yidde’oni (“wizard”) is always used together with ob (“consulter with familiar spirits”) and its semantic similarity to doresh el ha-metim (“necromancer” or “one who directs inquiries to the dead”) raises the question of why all three are mentioned in the same verse. The Jewish tractate Sanhedrin distinguishes between a doresh el ha-metim, a person who would sleep in a cemetery after starving himself, to become possessed, and a yidde’oni, a wizard.
In summary, the prohibition of necromancy in the Hebrew Bible is a significant aspect of Jewish history.
Do Christians believe in witchcraft?
The Bible contains numerous references to witchcraft, condemning practices such as casting spells, being a medium, spiritist, or consulting the dead. These practices are considered detestable to the Lord, and the Lord will drive out those nations before you. The word “witch” may be a mistranslation of “poisoner”, and some believe there is a primitive idealist belief in a relation between bewitching and coveting. Some adherents of near-east religions acted as mediums, channeling messages from the dead or familiar spirits.
The Bible is sometimes translated as referring to “necromancer” and “neromancy”, but some lexicographers, like James Strong and Spiros Zodhiates, disagree. They believe that the Hebrew word “kashaph” (כשפ) in Exodus 22:18 and other places in the Tanakh comes from a root meaning “to whisper”, meaning “to whisper a spell, i. e. to incant or practice magic”. The Contemporary English Version translates Deuteronomy 18:11 as referring to “any kind of magic”.

What are the three sins God will not forgive?
Alma, a prominent figure in the Christian faith, had a profound teaching moment when he interviewed his son, Corianton, who had become involved with the harlot, Isabel. Alma warned Corianton that he was guilty of three abominable sins in the sight of God: denying the Holy Ghost, shedding innocent blood, and committing sexual sin. Adultery was third to murder and the sin against the Holy Ghost. To understand Corianton’s sin, he needed to understand its relationship to the two most abominable sins, enabling him to realize the possibilities of repentance and forgiveness.
Alma distinguished between unpardonable and pardonable sins. Unpardonable sins cannot be paid for through the atoning blood of Christ or personal suffering. The only sin that falls into this category is denying the Holy Ghost. All other sins are forgivable or pardonable because the demands of justice can be met through the atonement of Jesus Christ or personal payment by the sinner.
The Apostle John taught that there is a sin unto death, and there is a sin not unto death. Elder Bruce R. McConkie argued that the death John referred to meant “spiritual death”. There are sins for which repentance does not operate, sins that the atoning blood of Christ will not wash away, and sins for which the sinner must suffer and pay the full penalty personally.

The increasing numbers in surveys and the growth of groups on platforms like TikTok suggest that the religion is continuing to grow.
Is it okay for Christians to play MTG?
Biblical wisdom refers to the ability to navigate life’s gray areas in a way that is pleasing to the Lord and beneficial to his people. There are no Bible verses that explicitly instruct us on the issue of collectible card games, board games, video games, soccer, bungee jumping, or neurosurgery. Instead, the Scriptures provide principles and stories that draw our hearts to God, allowing us to make decisions in accordance with how he designed humans to live with and relate to one another.
Wisdom is not found in imposing rigid categories on the Bible, but rather through relationship. Jesus’ invitation to “follow me” is a relational invitation, and relationships are never paint-by-numbers. Wisdom is a cultivated posture of heart and mind that learns to ask questions about whether this will make me more or less like the person God wants me to become and whether this will make the promises of God more or less believable to me and others.
Do pagans believe in a god?
Pagans believe in deity manifesting within nature and recognizing divinity in various forms, including goddesses and gods. They view nature as sacred and the cycles of birth, growth, and death as profoundly spiritual. Human beings are seen as part of nature, with reincarnation being a significant aspect of their existence. Pagans have a positive attitude towards healthcare staff and are willing to seek medical help when sick.
