Items To Combine With Magic Rods?

The Opal Rod, a powerful weapon in Zelda: TOTK, can be fused with gems to deal elemental damage. However, these water projectiles don’t offer much in combat and don’t provide huge amounts of d. The Magic Rod Wizrobes, found in Tarrey Town, are the only real fuse option. To maximize the power of the Magic Rod, fuse it with gems like Sapphire, Ruby, Topaz, and Opal. These minerals will turn the Magic Rod into a powerful weapon or magic wand.

Magic Rods are the one-handed counterpart to the Magic Scepter and Magic Staff. They are fully empowered when fused with an elemental gem or Star Fragment. The elemental power behind them can be drawn out when fused to an arrow or magic rod. However, you can fuse them to any weapon and they will provide the same effect.

Magic Rods and Sceptors feature unique fusion interactions when paired with certain rare gemstones. These five major fusions each provide a different effect. Diamond is an extraordinarily rare gemstone that adds 25 Fuse Attack Power when fused with the Magic Rod. When an elemental gemstone is fused with a Magic Rod, they resonate together, allowing for a more powerful fusion.

In Zelda: TOTK, you can fuse 73 objects with the Magic Rod, such as Light Dragon’s Scale (Heals 0.25 Heart per enemy hit) and Gleeok Wing (Increased). However, some players prefer fusing a sapphire to the Magic Rod, as it doesn’t shoot orbs like the other two elements and instead forms a large cloud that easily freezes.

What does the star rod do to totk?

Star fragments are a rare material that can be used to upgrade armor sets and can be sold for 200 rupees a pop. They can be fused with a rod or stick to shoot light beams and illuminate surroundings, or with a shield to create a lantern on your back, particularly for lighting up the Depths. While not many armor sets require star fragments, upgrading circlets in Gerudo Town requires them. Therefore, it is recommended to save as many as possible instead of selling them. Star fragments can be used to light up the path around Link, especially in the Depths, if you haven’t already obtained the Miner’s Armor set.

When used at a short distance, it can launch a medium-sized orb of fire that ignites anything in its wake, ensuring its use is wisely considered.

Is Magic Rod rare totk?

The Magic Rod is a generic weapon that can be obtained from various sources, including drop from certain monsters. Players can use their Fuse ability to fuse different materials to the Magic Rod, increasing its damage stat and potentially giving it new abilities. It can be obtained from two main sources: Bargainer Statues in The Depths and killing Wizzrobes. To find a Bargainer Statue, explore The Depths underneath Hyrule, but it can be difficult due to the darkness and Gloom patches. It’s recommended to visit the Bargainer Statue in Lookout Landing, one of the first settlements Link visits. Resisting Gloom’s negative effects and interacting with Lightroots can also help.

  • Fun fact: Based on my own experience, if you dive from sky islands at night, you have a decent chance of stars spawning and falling right next to you, close enough that you can catch them midair. Either it’s more likely they’ll spawn that way, or I’m ridiculously lucky, because I swear I’ve caught at least 6 star fragments that way. Probably closer to 8-10. Edit: a kind commenter explained that when the star fragments spawn, they have to spawn on-screen, so if you’re looking down, it’s forced to fall really close to you.

  • I tend to fuse a star fragment on a shield for a permanent glow effect in the Depths. What you can do with a star fragment on a rod though is something I never thought of doing, and glad that’s a thing. It’s amazing what we can do in this game. The only crime (aside not being able to pet dogs) is how fusing butter on a shield doesn’t make shield surfing slide more.

  • If the game had depths monsters that were adverse to light itself where it caused big damage- then light items would be phenominal, but honestly i never used it when i found one in a box. I usually just hover carted around until i found a new root and lit up the area- or tgrew brightblooms around because i had 99 9 at two seperate points from allthe caves.

  • As per the rod’s, staff’s, and scepter’s descriptions they all allude to finding maximum power in gem fusion. Combining any of these with a sapphire gem creates an absolutely broken ice weapon that, while hardly doing any damage on its own, freezes trash mobs and allows for follow-ups; Frozen enemies take multiplied damage from the next hit dealt to them.

  • Found it early in game. Thought that it must be a powerful rod. I saved it for quite long untill I really needed range cause I ran out of arrows. Time to shine! And well that’s all it really did. So I threw at the monster’s face ran away instead. (I didn’t know I could disassemble it during that time )

  • I can’t believe actually catching a falling star and sticking it to the end of a stick doesn’t give you something more useful than this. Given the relative rarity of star fragments, I would have added at least something to this. An idea for a rework from me: Star fragments add 14 to the damage output of any weapon they’re attached to. The projectiles also deal half that total damage to normal enemies, or double the total damage to gloom enemies, including the floormasters (aka gloom hands). Gloom on the ground or walls is temporarily neutralized within a wide radius when touched by the projectiles, the red fading away into black to mark the safe zones until the effect wears off

  • I was surprised to find one in a chest (magic staff with the fused star piece) that only serves as a light way, which honestly I did use it for that purpose when I forgot I can use brightblooms before it broke lol I did also test them if it had any effects on enemies which sadly it doesn’t 😅 but the effects are pretty, so that’s good enough for me

  • I remember I was SO disappointed by this weapon. You get it in one of the shrines and when I tested it out in there, I thought those balls of light must be pretty strong and this could be a good weapon. Later I was fighting a Lynel in the depths and broke most of my weapons. I pulled out this thing thinking I’ll blast him with a bunch of light bullets… only for them to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I held onto that thing for SO LONG only for it to do nothing.

  • It “might” hurt a Gloom Hand? I only theorize it due to I shot a star fragment arrow at them and it seemed to do more damage than usual. And dazzlefruit. A thorough test is definitely needed, as I was in a “key moment” of story progression and I was definitely trying multiple ideas that a friend suggested in an effort to not game over. 😅

  • God, it’s really disappointing how many items in TOTK could’ve had some really unique and interesting effects when fused with your weapons and stuff, but just don’t for some reason. Like, a lot of items either don’t do anything and are almost completely useless, have unique properties that are extremely niche and are usually just a worst version of another item, or have the same effect that 20 other items have that you probably weren’t gonna use anyway.
