The number seven has long been associated with spirituality, particularly in the horoscopes of members of the clergy. The septile series, which represents a 51.43-degree angle between two planets, is a key word in astrological investigation and is often used to indicate inspiration, whether religious or artistic. To create a harmonic horoscope, the 360 degree circle is divided by the number of the particular harmonic. The most common harmonics are the 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, and 9th.
The septile aspect in a natal chart can reveal dormant talents waiting to blossom, guiding individuals towards untapped reservoirs of creativity and potential. The septile series are found by dividing 360 degrees by 7, with the septile aspect = 51 degrees 25 minutes 43 seconds. Multiples of this give bi-septile = 102° 51’26”; tri-septile = 154° 17’08”; quad-septile = 205° 42”.
The septile aspect in astrology is not just a cosmic coincidence but a roadmap to personal evolution and spiritual destiny. It is linked to the ability to see the whole formative idea or principle behind a subject that is perceived only in disparate ways. A septile is an astrological aspect in which an angle of 135 degrees separates two planets, usually calculated with an orb of 2 to 3 degrees.
A septile occurs when two planets are one seventh of a circle apart. Harmonic charts are based on principles of resonance, and a chart is necessary to determine the degrees of your planets.

BLESS YOU for this whole series!! Hunting and hunting around, almost entirely in vain, for any information as to how to interpret these seldom-discussed aspects is what brought me to your website last fall when there were just two or three articles you’d yet posted about them. I’d just discovered a ‘chart behind the chart’ of my natal consisting of 4 Ns; 8 Qs and bQs, and TEN (bi)Ss, tied into my lunar nodal axis; 3 of 4 angles, and every planet except my 12H Gemini sun (ruler of the lunar SN . . . God help me, truly! ;-)) in a very busy Uranian–Plutonian–Chironic ‘face value” splay-pattern chart full of 8 nameable major configurations; a profusion of un-named triangles, where everything’s connected to everything else in an often (to me) seemingly paradoxical network. Even in the 10 mos. or so since (I go in and out of these astro rabbit holes, with ‘give it a rest’ months in-between), I’ve found maybe 5 not-very-detailed articles merely introducing the ‘esoterics,’ TOPS, and virtually nothing that would help me interpret this or that a one properly. Coming across your stuff is like stumbling upon an Olympic diving pool and juice bar days into driving towards the centre of Australia. (laughing)
Again, THANK YOU for doing what you’re doing. I do so appreciate your sharing your advanced knowledge and insight about these (various!) things, and in such a well-constructed and easy to grasp way. You really are a magical beast. There I go, rolling my eyes for years about mentions of “indigo kids” and the like, and then your website comes along. ;-D I sure would love it if at some point you did some exposition of mostly-ignored configurations, such as the Hammer of Thor. That’s the one I’m currently obsessed with trying to understand. In my natal, one’s part of a strange kite where, instead of including a second octile at top of the opposition, there are a parallel novile and septile running from conjunction to AC, with the point “striking” balsamic Jupiter rx closely conjunct Neptune rx, which form the bottom-right corner of a Mystic Rectangle involving Pluto and my Pisces MC as well. Obvious karmic indicators all over the place; and here I am, losing hope, and lost in space. (But still rhyming 😉 All hail Poseidon!)
