As you defeat bosses and earn more materials, you can upgrade your storage to perform more functions and expand its capacity.
There are nine storage units that increase the number of items available for storage: 4 – 40 – 80 – 80 – 120 – 120 – 160 – 240 – 320 – 640. Creative storage units can be connected to the storage system. To store items, right-click on the Storage Heart. At first, you can only store up to 40 items inside your Storage System. However, you can increase the capacity by building more Units and adding more storage connectors.

The pylon thing is way better than you seem to think! It’s not that it extends your range by only 100′ for each pylon. It’s that if your storage heart is within 100′ of a pylon–like at your main base–then you suddenly get the full access range *from every pylon*. This works with the portable access, which means that with correct pylon setup, you can actually have complete map coverage way before Moon Lord! I’m not sure if you knew this and just didn’t mention or if you didn’t know, but I don’t think the mod itself explains it super well. Coming back to this article because I know I watched it when I first was getting set up a few weeks ago, and I thought this might help somebody. Otherwise it’s a very good explanation and this is an amazing mod.
I been playing Terraria since 2011 when Skeletron was the final boss and you could only fight him once. The amount of love the devs and community have poured into this game is jaw-dropping. Anyway, picking this game back up after a few years. I’m at late pre-hardmode and almost off the fence on using this or vanilla storage. I enjoy building, creating a forge, an alchemy lab, etc. But damn there’s so many items. More than ever. Feels like it’s at a point where Magic Storage could plausibly be considered a vanilla, core feature. Thanks for the article. This was very well done. I love how vanilla terraria has one of the most convenient inventory and storage systems in any survival/sandbox games and a lot of players are like “Fuck this shit!!! Give me my ultimate storage that looks and feels like I’m cheating items in or operating a warehouse database” XD Not hating, just funny
is there a way to remove all placed storage units? i know you can use the storage wand to disable a unit which then transfers its items to the nearest vacant storage unit, allowing you to break the disabled/empty unit. but is there a way to remove a storage unit with items already in it without me having to go in and empty everything manually?
I did all the things you made in the article bu i cant accsess the storage with a remote storage, it says “This accsess is not connected to a Storge Heart!” Wtf does that mean ofc it doesnt need to connect because its a freaking remote storage + doesnt let me to connect them. I used the Locator too!! What can i do??
A question; I’ve recently started my first playthrough using this mod. I play on controller though, and this mod seems to like…not work with controller at all? I can’t access the UI of the storages no matter what buttons I press and I’ve looked in the settings too. Is the mod completely irrelevant on controller? Anyone who knows I’d love an answer, thanks in advance.
