Methods For Overcoming The Magic Challenge?

The Town Hall 15 update in Clash of Clans introduces the Epic Magic Challenge, allowing players to level up their Town Hall to 15, obtain four new Hero Pets, and participate in various activities. To complete the challenge, players must use Limbo’s Grasp, Trap Door on the Incarnation of Memory, and knock enemies into the green leyline using Forceful Blast or Kick.

The main assault involves dropping all of your heroes, including Magik. To beat the challenge, players can bully the alligator magus in the cavern entrance and create agility boots. Pouch items are rarely dropped by late-game enemies, but with the lucky ankh from the th15 epic magic challenge, they can be obtained.

To clear the new th15 epic magic challenge, players can use the Shellshocker, recall it to hand using Retreat, and use the Return spell generated to summon the Scales of the Dragon onto the field. Challenge Levels can be identified by a goblet, and each must be completed in a limited time. A Creature is given as a reward for completion.

In summary, the Town Hall 15 update introduces new features, such as the Epic Magic Challenge, which allows players to level up their Town Hall, obtain four new Hero Pets, and participate in various activities. Players can also use the Limbo’s Grasp card and the Trap Door to defeat enemies and earn rewards.

  • There’s a chest in the area leading up to Seymour Omnis that contains an armor piece for Yuna that absorbs 3 elements. In my first playthrough I had enough materials to make her immune to the fourth, making her nearly invincible. I also had Shiva with Firaga, very useful when he decided to only use Ice magic.

  • Great work on a challenge that was mostly the opening grind. Though you banned customization, you technically could have looked at gear you could buy from shops or even gotten as drops from certain area mobs as a way to cover your bases mostly for extra hp/mp if you didn’t want to go for gear with increased magic damage output or things like auto buffs or even the elemental eater which would have completely erased Seymour’s final battle

  • I’d LOVE to see the next challenge runs: 1. Beat the game only with 2 fighters present on fights. This means every character might be usable but only 2 at the same time (same effect as if one fighter would escape right at the beginning of each fight). IDK if it’s moddable. Also see if you could beat dark aeons, creations, and further opponents. 2. Same as before, but only 1 fighter simultaneously. 3. Beat the game with the monsters and enemies on the actual game until the progress you’re on (IDK if it’s possible). For example, the first usable characters in ground would be dingo, condor and water flan.

  • Fun run; mad respect to the time you put in. I would have melee grinded tidus to go above 12 mp for sure; you have sick commitment. I do think it’s funny how you ban haste then immediately decide to use haste instead of grind Kimahari. Edit: Just wanted to specify, this isn’t a knock on the run or rules. I just think the juxtaposition is funny.

  • So you said you don’t know if this run is possible before this article proper kicks off (I’m writing this while he explains the rules) reflect is an easy fix just cast reflect on yourself and bounce it back at the enemies the other elemental resistance only enemies I can think of this properly effecting are flans (mainly the dark ones in Mt gagazet but shouldnt be an issue becauseyou should have flare by then or possibly ultima) cactures and the elementals but since they have elemental weaknesses aswell that shouldn’t be an issue, the only spell as far as I know that isn’t effected by reflect is ultima, nova (but kimahri cant use lancet so nova is out of the question)because they are AOE spell and Dispel because it removes reflect if it isn’t built in to the enemies (mainly the arena ones) Edit if you are still struggling with the 0 second chocobo mini game you don’t have to push forward so just focusing on turning left and right

  • “Becomes useless in a normal playthrough” My man has never gotten the early Holy Unlock with Kimahri. Him Holy Nuking can single-handedly carry an entire casual run the moment you get a level 3 sphere (with the sole exception of the underwater sections). I was able to beat everything but the Dark Aeons and Penance using basically just Magic-Carry Kimahri (since my first run I didn’t swap people in all the time for XP).

  • Genuinely love perusal these articles. One of my favourite things in JRPGs is the way their systems can be manipulated. Whether it’s completely snapping the balance over your knee like a twig, or limiting how you can play, there’s nothing quite like it. I just wish I had the patience to do it myself, but then that’s why I love your website so much. Keep it up Primal!

  • I think I only ever did the 0 chocobo run once back when the first remaster for PS3 released. Played the game at least a couple dozen times since ps2 but that’s the only time I did it. I’m way too impatient and irritable to put up with that crap. Same reason I’ve never even attempted the lightning dodges in thunder plains.

  • I did thus challenge myself and took it to the extreme and beat all of the dark Aeon besides Anima, who is immune to magic. Dark Bahamut ended up taking me 2 and a half hours… lol. It was brutal. Shiva was also extremely difficult. I’m excited for this one, and for someone else doing the challenge, I did myself!

  • It had been a while since I watched some of your vids, but I realized I never watched your FFX 100% playthrough, and here I am again! Missed your articles/commentary/jokes and energy on articles 🙂 I remember a while back there was a sad article that you weren’t getting as many views and stuff, hope it turned around or turns around!

  • “Can you beat FFX with only magic?” The real answer, no. Crawler/Nullifier should have been the end point. Nullifier blocks fury, but not Ronso rage, ergo, ronso rage is not magic. But I get the need for “it’s basically blue magic” so that the run had a chance haha 😅 Fun run to watch as always though!

  • I wanna start challenges. But since I’d be a noob in challenges I wanna take baby steps. What are the best challenges to start out with. Preferably for ff7(original, remake, crisis core), 9, 12, 15, 16 and kingdom hearts series. Don’t get me wrong I love all ff games(except tactics cause I’m not big on those style of games) but these are my favorites.

  • In this one the group acknowledges they suck at using weapons to the point they can barely hold them, and they are afraid to get close. Why? Because everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. So instead they stay back tossing spells out while making up constant new attack phrases. Ride the lightning! Taste my spicey ones! Frigid bitch this! In the end thanks to leveling up their trash talk per spell cast they manage to save the world, as emotional damage truly does hurt the most.

  • When start listing off Rules and possible Challenges. Was like Hi Jumbo Flan being one optional boss that like here by pass all of them with enough levelings. Leaving in my head Negator and Mp. When mention Blue magic from Kihmari i was like made me question if bypass negator anti-magic field. This was amusing to see.

  • The next time you decide to do a magic only run Create a Keynote presentation PlayStation 4 and then use the save wizard program to edit your save and only give yourself all items and everything. The only time you’re going to use those items is why did the first after you get your first smell, then you wouldn’t use any more items. Basically what you would do is you would give yourself enough MP spheres to go through maybe 80 100 250 magic points and then after that you wouldn’t use items anymore. You basically would use them to get to that point if you gave yourself the option. On the other hand, you could essentially give yourself all abilities, and if you did that, then you wouldn’t have to go around the sphere grid on the other hand you could do it this way the way I’m suggesting with save wizard give yourself enough MP spheres in the empty spaces that would allow you to go for a little bit and update yourself and you would only use the MP spheres to add to those empty spaces between your starting point and your first spell

  • As this is challenge involves Magic and Yuna dancing. I think this is a appropriate song. Btw another awesome article. What kind of magic spell to use (Slime and snails) or puppy dog tails (Thunder or lightning) then baby said Dance, magic dance (dance, magic dance) Dance, magic dance (dance, magic dance) Put that baby’s spell on me Jump, magic jump (jump, magic jump) Jump, magic jump (jump, magic jump) Put that magic jump on me Slap that baby, make him free

  • I couldn’t do this challenge. there’s only 2 real challenges between him and the end game. as he said, reflect and enemies with null magic. there are magic spells to get around null magic. reflect yourself and bounce magic off yourself. now the games all about just how dedicated you are to being inefficient.

  • One of these days, I’ll be making a rebalance mod where I can make Yuna, Auron, Kimahri, and Lulu more viable throughout the game, as I’m a little tired of always seeing Tidus, Wakka, and Rikku on the front lines. Their Overdrive commands are far better than what the others can do, and Kimahri and Lulu are notoriously underpowered in comparison to everyone else. So far I’ve enough material to make huge differences, but I haven’t the foggiest on how to implement them as a true mod.

  • Absolutely bonkers. In theory this run’s core concept gets a lot easier when you reach Mi’ihen, but some of the bosses were certainly more puzzling than normal. I rarely use magic unless it’s through Yuna who always ends up with a higher magic stat than Lulu in my runs. It was pretty ballsy to (soft) ban Hastega right before the Flux fight, but you managed so kudos there. Those crashes would’ve sent my fist through a wall too. Time for an upgrade/driver update maybe? I never had issues with my Steam version thankfully and it ended up being the first platform I’d beat Penance legitimately on.

  • Why include Ronso Rage but not Lancet? Lancet is literally magic, isn’t it? Kinda just sounds like you didn’t want to deal with him. That, or you didn’t want to make the challenge easier by having easily refillable hp and mp? Maybe do a, “Special Ability Only Run” where Lancet (and Ronso Rage) is the only offensive ability, but you can still use things like Cheer.

  • By my count 43 times Yuna is said by Tidus 41:56-42:00 Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Bonus* 42:38 – 42:40 Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Super Bonus* 46:24 – 46:30 Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna Even though I was expecting the ending outro, I am very happy that you included it.

  • Only 9 minutes in so far but im wondering about something, you said magic only but i dont believe you specified black magic only (i may have missed it if you did) so im assuming white magic will be allowed in this run. Which i think might be necessary since you gain acess to spells like dispel incase you run into reflect enemies later, or reflect itself to bounce off your allies incase their reflect cant be dispelled. Also cure magic, haste, and others could be very useful. Ill shut up now and continue perusal to see what you do lol. Edit: 10 min now and you said getting heal magic and esuna so that answers that lol

  • Can’t say I understand the drive that some people have to play challenge runs of games. I get it for creating interesting content for viewers, but as someone who doesn’t do that, I don’t bother with challenge runs. This was a very interesting run though, and I feel like you could call it more than just (can you beat FFX with just magic) as you included a number of other rules that made the challenge considerably more difficult. I also think it’s interesting the manner in which you played (probably so it would take less time overall) but due to how FFX works, even without using the expert sphere grid, you can run every single character through every single sphere and have them all learn every spell and max their stats. The expert sphere grid just makes this faster and easier. In the end, if you had beefed up one or two more characters, since you can rotate out characters mid battle, you wouldn’t have had any issues with lacking MP or specific skills. I think that would be a really interesting challenge run, can you beat FFX when your party members switch every battle? Have a mod that rotates out who’s in the party at the start of every fight and keeps you from swapping characters in the middle of battle. It probably wouldn’t be too bad if you do a ton of grinding, but trying to go through the game without doing any grinding could lead to really interesting setups that you have to work through

  • Personal recommendation for future runs like this. Use the cheat to get 99 of all items. Don’t worry about grinding pre besaid and once you have a full party use a friend sphere on everyoone to go to lulu. Then get rid of all the extra items and start the run from there. May not be as legit as what you are doing but its pretty clear that its possible and you could avoid being overleved just to start the run.

  • Freakin’ spoilers right at the beginning of the article, just because I’m interested in stuff like this… 🤨 Even being already past Seymour Natus, there’s no escaping spoilers like “Dream” Zanarkand in this stupid internet overflow era. But whatever. Barely the uploader’s fault. No spoiler warning required here. I get it.
