For one thing, how to write a check was in my math book, so, at least some curriculums are teaching this. Also, the check IS the tutorial! It literally spells out each step for you! Everyone knows (probably from filling out homework, or, at least job/college applications) that the word DATE, with a line after is where you put the current day’s date.
