Spells in the game are tied to the playthrough you’re on, and unless you load into the playthrough where you unlocked them, you lose them and must unlock them again. Adventure mode has no free spell selection, and the 3 first spells you get are based on the character and outfit you select when starting the adventure. To change spells, you can use unlock tokens to increase your spell power and use staffs.
The story revolves around drop-out wizard apprentices who skip their training for a quick path to the Nine Parchments. To unlock these parchments, you can find ice enemies, increase your spell power using unlock tokens, and melee. Enemies with shields will block or reflect your spells back at you unless you hit them from the back. You can also melee through arenas.
During game play, you can switch between already chosen spells by pressing the “E” and “Q” buttons or choosing them using the number keys. The game leads you through a series of levels to regain the missing parchments lost from the Astral Academy. In each level, you will fight various monsters with your chosen spells.
To change items, press X at any point of gameplay to bring up your spells and equipment menus. Left click to cast spells (hold to channel, click again to smash area spells down), right click for melee, and SHIFT for “blink” movement (allows you to dash through).
In Nine Parchments, a co-operative blast-em up game of magic mayhem from Frozenbyte, you need to have 3 different life spells in your arsenal. While going through the game, you will get 6 new spells added to your arsenal.

For character 8th, I used the verdure staff to heal the lamb with melee attacks, and I discovered that you can put your character in front of the lamb to stop it, so you can fully heal it. Lastly, if not all your spells are good, you can use the good ones and heal the lamb so it charges and kill the enemies, especially on the last wave.
I was actually hoping to find the achievement regarding Piercing Shadow and having to kill five enemies in two seconds. D: Been having the hardest time, even when in relatively ideal conditions. Thought the five second encounter was bad? Two seconds kinda translates to “all at the same time” I feel like…
I think Cornelius The Forester is glitched on PS4, specifically the “Arcane Elements” (have 4 spells of different elements) achievement, as it’s either impossible to complete or the description on how to achieve it is way off. I have literally every character, even Gilded Amadeus, but even after beating the game on Hardcore (then beating the last boss on Hard, Normal and Easy just in case) as Cornelius (Cornflower), and making sure I not only had every element, but even had every element disregarding my starting spells (so I got an EXTRA fire, ice and lightning spell on top of life and death), I STILL haven’t gotten that fucking character. I even got 6 different elements with Nim (counting his steam) to see if that would work. Still nothing! What the hell gives?! The only thing I haven’t tried is beating the game with the default Cornelius while having all those different spells—though I have indeed possessed the spells above with default Cornelius. It seems this particular achievement, according to PSN trophies blah blah, isn’t very often achieved, so I’m thinking I might not be the only person it’s glitched for… Any insight on this anyone?
So I have all of the characters and most of the hats. For some reason some hats aren’t dropping, but I’ll keep playing. What I really need help with is my final staff. I can’t seem to get the final broom to drop. I’ve done the blink grab to catch the broom that’s at the start of the game and end of the game in each difficulty, but can’t get the final broom, unless there’s another way you have to get it. Anyone know what’s up with this?
Could you have, idk, cut all the fight scenes so this isn’t like an hour long?! Not only that but also playing it more efficiently. You need all the first characters unlocked before their alts can be unlocked. Most of the guilded characters need to do the same thing as the first but on hardcore mode to unlock. So your trial order should go Marvek, Carabel, guilded Gislan, Amadeus (because you can get his staff before the box level randomly but the “3ed” staff is not a staff of the artifact), Rud, owl, nim, and then Selius. After covering that delve into the alts because some can be achieved inadvertently while just playing up through the trials.
