Star Parans Astrology: What Is It?

Parans are the true angular relationship between planets and/or stars, occurring when a planetary body rises, sets, culminates, or is at the nadir. In modern astrology, the term Paran (short for Paranatellonta) is generally used to describe stars or planets that are angular as a planet hits the ascendant, MC, Descendant, or IC lines. Parans describes the passage of each star as it passes over the horizon, reaches culmination, sets, and then reaches the nadir.

Fixed stars are unique in astrology and offer wisdom in understanding the relationship between stars and planets. They are a common tool used in locational astrology to determine planetary influences in various locations that can be seen on a person’s astromap. Parans occur when a planet rises or sets with a fixed star, and once identified connections are examined, they can affect a person’s personality.

In locational astrology, a paran is a line that circles the earth latitudinally. Each paran has an origin point: a location where two rising, setting, MC, or IC lines intersect. Planetary Parans are important indicators of combined planetary energy, and when two (or more) planets are angular together, they are considered “strong”.

Parans occur when a star conjoins one of the “angles” of the sky at the same time a planet does. Rising Stars of Youth are the stars in rising parans, angular relationships to different planets. If a star and a planet were both on this cross at the same time, this is known as a paran relationship.

A fixed star is any visible celestial body that is not a planet, such as the Sun, Moon, or Mercury. Both star and planet are interacting with the earth in the same instance, and this relationship is called a paran. Since fixed star paran were a visual system, Starlight finds parans to the actual planets rather than their natal degrees.

What tarot cards represent star signs?

The major arcana tarot cards are associated with astrological signs such as Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio. These cards represent different aspects of life, such as power, love, strength, justice, and death. Lisa Stardust’s Practical Magic explores these cards by zodiac sign, serving as a guide for getting in touch with oneself. To celebrate World Tarot Day on May 25, Lisa offers a personal astrological meditation based on tarot cards.

By pulling the cards representing the “big three” (sun for purpose, moon for emotion, and rising for energy), one can gain clarity on their inner feelings or focus on the tarot card reflecting their sun sign.

Where is Regulus in my chart?

Regulus, also known as Alpha Leonis, is a star located at the base of the Sickle pattern, which forms the head and forequarters of Leo the Lion. It is one of three bright stars in the Spring Triangle asterism and ranks 21st in the list of brightest stars in the sky. Regulus is visible most of the year, rising above the horizon as the sun sets and reaching its highest point due south. It is visible in the southeast, southwest, west, and morning sky from mid-September through mid-February. Regulus is opposite the sun and rises above the horizon as the sun sets.

What elements are in the star Regulus?

Regulus, a blue-white “B” star, is more massive than the sun and hotter and brighter than the sun. It is home to two faint companions, orange and red dwarfs, which are about 4, 200 Earth-sun distances away and take about 130, 000 years to complete one orbit. The dwarfs are about 95 AUs apart, more than three times the average distance between Neptune and the sun. A 2008 research team argued that there is probably another companion, a white dwarf, lurking in the vicinity of Regulus, due to variations in the star’s spin.

What does paran mean in astrology?

Parans are locations where two planets are angular together, such as Mars on the MC and Jupiter rising. These latitudinal lines, which stretch across the globe and have a 1 degree orb (around 70 miles), show specific energies in specific regions, concentrated areas, and cities. They are most felt within a 1 degree orb, and while main astrocartography lines provide more specific information, paran lines offer a more detailed understanding of the celestial system.

Paran Latitudinal Lines are formed by two planets combining their energy, running horizontally around the globe. These lines produce results based on the natural significations of the planets and are not usually determined by the placement of the planets in the natal chart. To understand the lines across an astrology map, it is essential to understand the different types of lines created, which are divided into Planetary Angles, Parans, and Local Space Lines.

Understanding the difference between these lines can help in determining what is happening on the map, making it easier to understand the underlying meanings. A video explaining the difference between these types of lines can be found to further clarify the process.
