What is the main plot in fairytales?
A fairy tale is a narrative where a hero or heroine performs a task and is rewarded. Often, the obstacle seems insurmountable, but with creativity and magical assistance, a solution can be found. The hero’s “good qualities” can overcome the obstacle, either through their own courage, cunning, or magical abilities, or by using a magical object. Most fairy tales begin with “Once upon a time” and end with “And they all lived happily ever after”.
What is the main climax of a story?
A climax is a turning point in a story where the conflict is resolved, breaking the tension and introducing a change. It is important as it delivers the expected payoff for readers, making the story satisfying even when the protagonist is unsuccessful or the story has a sad or infuriating ending. There are four main types of climaxes, each with unique ways to be told. A crisis climax occurs when the protagonist must make a life-altering decision, causing life to never be the same again.

What is the climax of A Tale of Magic?
In this fantasy book, Brystal Evergreen, a girl living in Chariot Hills, Southern Kingdom, struggles with her restrictive life and longs for education. She is sent to the Bootstrap Correctional Facility, but is saved by Madame Weatherby and allowed to attend a magical school. She is joined by students Xanthous, Emerelda, and Lucy, who train in magic areas. However, Madame Weatherby’s absence leads to a series of conflicts, and the students work to uncover the reasons behind the war with the Northern Kingdom.
The magical school is fun and has a lot of details about it. The plot moves quickly, and the author’s book is praised for its easy-to-follow, accessible language. However, the trope of kingdoms where magic is outlawed is overdone in middle grade literature. The secondary characters are not well developed, and excessive description makes the book long but doesn’t advance the plot. The term “magiclexia” is not used for trouble with magic, but “dysmagica” is used instead. The book also has many twee phrases and odd sentences, with a “holy plot twist” where Lucy is a friggin’ fairy.

They follow instructions in a mysterious journal to complete the Wishing Spell and have one wish granted. After scaling castle walls, diving into the home of mermaids, and meeting characters from all the beloved fairy tales, they are stymied by the Evil Queen, who has escaped from Snow White’s dungeon.
With the hope of using the spell gone, the twins have no way home until they meet Fairy Godmother, their own grandmother. They find comfort in their grief over their father’s death when they realize they have been following his journal and that he grew up in this land.
