Find the designated spot in the image above and progress forward until you encounter a passageway. Enter the Ancient Lair through the basement.

To get Mystic Carrion’s heart from Thrumbo, use a ladder to reach a dark room and use a lever to open up the way. Talk to him about the jar. The manhole found at coordinates ‘X: 127, Y: -34’ to the left of the manhole is the most common way to access the lair.

To find Mystic Carrion’s Ancient Lair, follow the quest from the first chapter. Navigate to the penitent’s left to an “old passageway” and enter the sewers underneath the Lower City. There are many entrances to the sewer, but the most common way is to head upstairs as soon as you enter the house and pick the lock.

Mystic Carrion’s liver and brain jar are located in a special location within the city sewers. Enter the sewers and traverse through the passageway to the west of the Undercity Ruins waypoint. Defeat Mystic Carrion is a sub-quest of the quest Find Mystic Carrion’s Servant in Act Three of Baldur’s Gate 3.

  • simple tactic to clear the room without taking damage: – summon the mage hand inside, keep your party outside the door. – take the biggest chest near to the flame and move it to block the door, this will activate the fight and lock the door. – use shadowheart to cure the curse from herself first and then from all others. you will have enough time till zombies break both the chest and the door – activate spirit guardians on shadowheart after you remove all curses and stick her to the door, the circle of spirits will deal damage through wall and not damage the door – after everyone is curse cleared open the door and use turn dead on shadowheart, this will freeze all zombies for 3 turns (which are already grouped by the door) – rape them with fire and lightning till the fight is over. took no damage here, literally no damage.

  • I really wish there was an option to just keep the parts. You go back to talk with Carrion and when he asks him to hand them over you’re like “Oh don’t worry, they’re quite safe.” And then you can intimidate a Mummy Lord into servitude. In my headcanon my Durge kept them all and once he dominated the Netherbrain, he paid Carrion a visit and conscripted him into his army.

  • I think the problem is that the info to learn about the heart is somewhere in his office and if you blow up stuff, the book/note will get destroyed ….the first time i did it i got the quest just fine but i had to reload and then i couldnt finish the quest, because there was no note,i searched the palce from top to bottom 20 times.

  • ah, i was hoping you were going to show where the three zombie companions were. I found two and wanted to find the third. I failed one check from one and succeeded the second. I wanted to just find the third and go from there to not spoile too much. But still a great vid and ill watch it in full for another playthrough

  • I don’t know if you will ever read this, but here goes. Firstly I’m playing the game on a PS5 and there are subtle differences to the PC version. When I went back to Carrion’s base to find that he was alive and kicking again. Not that his reincarnation lasted long. I then went to speak to his servant, who was unfortunately dead. We bumped into and killed him at some point in the recent past. However I was already aware of the ladders leading to the hidden basement in Carrion’s base, which I found on my first visit. Just in case I missed something on the first visit the party returned to the basement. Low and behold I found a heart in a green bottle. One deft slash with a greatsword was enough to cause an explosion, doing minor damage to a couple of the party. The mission was recorded on the mission log as being completed. Also, on going up to the top floor of the mansion where the interaction with the painting on the easel is located. I still have no idea what to insert into the single empty slot. There is just the 1 empty slot in the PS5 version. Not that it mattered. Burning the painting in the back inner room was enough to start to bring that side of the mission to a happy conclusion.

  • I’m really stuck trying to find something to destroy this stupid heart jar. It’s immune to slashing, piercing, bludgeoning, acid, thunder, necrotic, fire, lightening, cold, psychic, poison, radiant, and force. how the heck did you blow it up with an arrow? A fire arrow? But it’s immune to fire and arrows?

  • Really not helpful that you don’t show loot (esp when you take the time to hover over the useless keys & could have taken a second to hover the mouse over the actual loot) & don’t show us what reward Trumbo gave you for helping him. Basically need to find another guide just to see if this quest is even worth my time.
