The Significance Of The Flat Earth Conspiracy?

It’s pure ego. the idea of “I know something you don’t know” is compelling to the insecure mind and it makes them feel important to believe that they’re getting to the “truth” of something that has been deliberately hidden until….YOU….came along and pulled the veil from everyone’s eyes. That and then you have a bunch of grifters who are all too happy to capitalize on your delusions of grandeur

I think I have another explanation, a contributing factor at work here. I think there’s an element here which is similar to a phenomenon which often presents within a parent-child relationship as the child passes through adolescence and approaches independent adulthood. Initially, the child is young, little experience, and the parent makes decisions and gives instructions to the child based in pursuing the child’s best interests. Eventually, as an adolescent, they reach a point where they feel a need to “practice”, and to “prove to themselves that they can” make decisions for themselves. But.. the parent is still making decisions in the adolescents best interest.. which inspires the adolescent to try to make some OTHER decision “for themselves”. In this period, from the perspective of the adolescent, “who made this decision” is more important than “is this the right decision”. I think this dynamic.. the tension between a parent who knows what their child doesn’t yet know and still wants what’s best for them.. and an adolescent who NEEDS TO KNOW that they will be capable of making their own decisions.. is what most people describe as “teen rebellion”. I think a similar phenomenon is at work with the “conspiracy nuts” crowd.. they are “rebelling” against a neat, packaged, consistent “way things are” which is handed to them, in favor of some other, necessarily less accurate thing they believe “for themselves”. For them, “THIS is what I believe, ‘the THEY’ can’t make me believe differently” is more important than whether a belief is actually true.

If the sun were orbiting OVER a flat plane, the real world observations wouldn’t match. At 30 degrees latitude the sun would appear over 5700 kilometers in altitude. At 60 degrees latitude the sun would appear at just over 3800 kilometers in altitude. Two observations taken at the same time at different places give mismatched results for a flat plane. This is some of the most basic geometry there is; which is why humans knew the earth was spherical before Christ was born.

Here’s your blatant curve. The horizon isn’t flat, but a 2D parallel envelopment of a circle of latitude. Try tilting the weather balloon camera (without a wide angle fisheye lens) 90° downward, compressing that 170° angular size (10° drop) and changing your perspective. 1. The horizon is not “flat” as appears in weather balloon footage, it’s a 2D circular outline. That’s an important distinction. 2. It expands with altitude until it finally embraces the outline around the circumference of the equator rendering almost 50% of earth’s surface are visible and thus will shrink exponentially ad you continue to rise or recede away! 3. Specifically, the horizon is the geometric 2D circle of a sphere, straddling a parallel line of latitude like a slice through an orange, or a hoop on a medicine ball. 4. It is perpetually equidistant, with the observer always in the dead center, and the circle of a sphere IS precisely the curvature, enveloped by the darkness of space beyond… An outline of the globe (albeit with only about 0.5% of the surface area visible). 4b) This geometry would only be possible on a flat earth if every single weather balloon was launched directly over the north pole. 5. If anyone deep in the southern hemisphere can launch a balloon to make the horizon appear to approach in the south and recede in the north so that it is no longer equidistant, I’ll concede. Alas, even the West Antarctica spider balloon launch appeared to be hovering over the central north pole, too.

I don’t disdain perusal some so-called “pseudo-scientific” documentaries, alternative theories are somehow interesting, as long as showing some plausibility. Flat Earth claims are totally insane tho. Their logic is actually illogic. It’s not even a theory, it’s just an offense to human intelligence.

Well…this is based on a ”personal” conspiracy theory of mine, but here it goes… It’s because, not all humans are equally intelligent, nor are all humans equally capable of understanding all information they’re given, even if it’s put in simple terms. We’re all different even in the smallest nuanced ways, we can accept that mostly, but it seems taboo to mention if we’re all different by means of intelligence. It seems the only way that that’s accepted, is if you’re either medically confirmed as being either autistic, or have a learning disability. It seems to be taboo or ”out right rude” to think that not all humans are equally intelligent, despite genetic differences by each generation.

-“Sun is like a spotlight” A:If its like an spotlight then how tf does moon get light -“Planes cannot fly down” A:Gravity “You get gunned down when you go to south pole or north pole” A:No, everyone can go to those places without any restrictions “You can see the sun and the moon at the same time” A:its because earth is round “There are clouds behind sun/moon” A: optical illusion (i made research on this) ————- “season happen when sun moves between continents” A: all flat earthers use the same model for this (they also use the same model for day/night cycle *Flat earth models are not compatible with each other* “Evolution is fake” A: Then how tf did half of the species didnt go extinct “Moon landing is faked” A: there are loads of explanations that proves wrong every single thing that people use to “fake the landing” “Dust doesnt stay on the air when astronauts walk” A: everything falls at the same rate in vacuum “Moon rover has fenders when there is no mud” A: if you watch the article you can see that it prevent the dust from getting on astronauts space suits “There are no stars* A:you can test this at home and see that it can hardly take the images of stars,even a new camera can hardly do it, what did expected from a camera 50 years ago “Lighting on the moon is wrong” A:its not wrong moon surface reflects the light “Lander is made out of some kind of paper” A: thats kinda true since the bottom part of the lander is made out of some paper like gold+if you look at space shuttles and zoom in the white paint you can see that it looks like paper but in reality its just a material that can isolate astronauts from vacuum.

I been wanting to say this to the flat earthers…. When the moon rises in the east say New York, if the earth was truly flat you would see the moon rise in the West at the same time in LA… but you don’t. The time difference of sun set does not matter I have seen the moon in Michigan rise in the winter at 12:30 am eastern daylight savings time, four hours earlier than Pacific daylight time- 8:30pm… it will be dark. Even standing high up in the Rockies you won’t see the moon for 4 hours or so… don’t believe me? than do this yourself- call a friend in LA when you witness the moon rise in NY and ask them to tell you when they see the moon. You be waiting a long time my friend.

Makes you step back and think, when you come to the realization that we are not on a globe spinning effortlessly in a great infinite universe. Truth is we are in an Earthly vessel, that stands still, and does not move, and that is situated on top of deep waters, surrounded by deep waters, underneath deep water. When I say deep, I mean oceans deep waters. We are contained, in a container. Now you know, humble yourself. With so many wickedness going on in this Earth, God could just say, Enough! And release the deep waters above us, and flood us out again. But He promised us, that no more will rain become a flood to end all life on Earth. The Rainbow He created, is a sign to remind us, that He will not cause a great flood again. So the next time you see a rainbow, appreciate what it truly means. Praise God, in Jesus name.

Flermin need to stop conflating shape with motion (or lack thereof!). While long exposure star trail timelapses don’t necessarily demonstrate that earth 🌎 is in motion, sidereal time most certainly does. Whereas this the geometry of the enveloping equidistant celestial sphere proves earth is spherical. Hear me out… The ascension angle of both celestial poles above and below the horizon will always be identical, and perfectly correspond with the observer’s latitude in degrees. For instance at my latitude here in New Zealand at the 40th south parallel, the SCP resides 40° above the horizon and Polaris is buried 40° beneath the horizon in the opposite direction to the north. There are 180 degrees between the poles of any sphere by geometric necessity, and therefore 180 lines of latitude. The distance between the poles of earth is 20,001.6 kilometers. 20,001.6 km / 180° = 111.12 km. One degree of declination on the celestial sphere corresponds to one parallel line of latitude, which are 111.12 kilometers apart. So one degree = 111.12 kilometers. Therefore, I’d have to travel 111.12 km x 40° = 4,444.8 kilometers north to reach the equator and render Polaris just visible on the horizon, 0° in altitude. To reconcile this pivot point on their model, flat earthers must vehemently deny and reject the existence of the SCP, with some citing that it’s just a “void in the sky.” For one, if the North Celestial Pole wasn’t marked by it’s close proximity to a bright star, would that in any way negate the existence of the geometric pivot point itself, let alone it’s enduring position relative to nearby stars and circumpolar constellations?

Flat Earthers need to do one history reading rather than blaming Nasa about lying about the Earth being round. It was discovered long before Nasa existed. Rengarten was likely the true first person to walk around the world. Born in the Minsk province in the Baltics (today in Belarus), Rengarten started a walk from west to east with his starting point at Riga, the present-day capital of Latvia (then part of the Russian Empire). He continued across Asia, through North America and Europe, and finished at his starting point on September 27, 1898.

I can not believe that the earth is flat, nor do I have any interest in discussing such trivial matters. My question is, however, why so much effort in trying to demonize the people who believe the earth is flat? At the same time, pushing into society’s throat that women can feel that they are men vice versa. That a person can feel that she is a rabbit, a cat, a ferret, etc. that they deserve the right to identify as whatever they feel like, and the sane people should kowtow to such absurdity. And these same lunatics are the ones persecuting the flat earthers. That’s my only take on this matter.

Ido ofek A method to break the belief of the flat earthers, I asked, how can it be that, at a given moment, in one place a person sees the sun overhead and in another place, a person sees the sun setting? How is this possible in a flat earth model? No flat earther could answer me..they just dodged and disappeared..

Watch the night sky over a few hours (as close to the equator as possible if you absolutely need to see the poles themselves), look both north and south. The stars rotate around two different observable points in the night sky, the two celestial poles. This proves a celestial sphere, and since the poles exist in the north and the south and not both in opposite “ends” of the south, the axis of the celestial sphere stands 90 degrees perpendicular with the equator, meaning the only way we can observe both celestial poles is if earth is a 3 dimensional object where all sides are equal (we can walk anywhere on that shape). Seeing as there are no sudden sharp edges anywhere, it must consequently be a sphere. There, this whole bs disproven with eye observations and primary school geometry.

We need to all understand the psychology of a flat earther and how thye end up becming one. The vast majority of potential flat earther tends to already feel like they’re trapped, they feel afraid, they feel powerless to control their life, and it seems like the rich and the powerful are preventing them from making any headway. Then they see a flat earth article on YouTube, and at first, they laugh, “flat earth? Of course not. We all know it’s a sphere, that’s what they taught us.” “But what if they were lying to you?” the article says. “What if they trapped you in a cage of lies so that they could run off with all the money and power and leave you a slave to the system?” This sounds familiar to our poor potential flat earther. “Yeah,” they think, “they ARE trying to keep me in a cage.” And down the rabbit hole they go, perusal article after article, doing “research” into flat earth, asking themselves “how do I REALLY verify the shape of the Earth if I assume they were lying to me.” And the potential flat earther is encouraged to “forget what they taught you,” and “trust your own senses” and “do your own science,” and the subject thinks, “you know, I can’t feel the Earth spinning. And it LOOKS as flat as hell.” And down and down and down the rabbit hole they go. “Maybe they ARE lying. Maybe NASA is faking everything! I can’t go to Antarctica!” And now they are lost. They are “open minded” enough now to consider the “alternative,” and of course, for every objection they raise, the flat earth community has a soothing response.

Do you prefer to believe in the experts and the majority of highly trained and highly educated scientists, astronauts, physicists, etc. or do you prefer to believe in people who are NOT trained in any science at all and have discovered their information that the earth is flat through the internet and YouTube articles and home experiments?

I like that the title is “Why some people STILL believe the Earth is flat” as if they are just some group of lost humans that never grew out of an old belief. The funny part about that is by the medieval period most scholars and educated knew the earth was a globe, so most these people have not come from a background of flat earthers stuck in a belief but likely came from centuries of people that already knew the earth was round just to live in a time where space travel is practically a thing and say “Earth is flat, everyone else wrong.” 😂 The idea of us believing the earth was flat in medieval times comes from certain books and media outlets around 1870 to 1920 that caused misinformation. The earliest evidence we have of knowing the earth was round dates all the way back to ancient greeks 5th century BC.

The earth can’t be flat if it’s a ball with pressurized atomosphere spinning 1000miles an hour, orbiting the sun at 66,600mph and hurtling through an infinite vacuum at a 448,000mph like science has clearly observed. I just hope we can build the technology back to make it to the moon again. Sure has been a while.
