This is NO hate against Angel… Next season she will not have the rookie titles to hide behind. She will not be compare to CC, she will be compared with the league. If you look at her stats today she only leads in rebounds everything else she’s ranked 27 and lower. Shes a good rebounder and a player I want on my team. Carter, the best player on the team does not play, Cardoso who is the second best player on the team gets 4 shots up? This team is poorly coached. Reese had more shot attempts then Cardoso. Ridiculous. Spoon don’t know how to coach. Almost every play should be fed down to Cardoso, if she gets doubled, kick it out, if she misses her shot let Reese clean up the boards.

The coach blew another game. They were up two with 1:38 in the game. She should have called a time out. Instead, TWO BIGS are up top at the key. Carmella lazily throws the ball towards Angel and the ball is stolen and converted for two. Every good coach has plays set for a minute to go. You space the floor and your guards run the show. Carmella and Allen turn the ball over often at the top of the key. It’s like every visitor knows this and they steal the ball and score. Everybody bathing Reese? They should be looking at Spoon. She coaches horribly. Connecticut, Vegas, Mystics she blew all 3 games. Spoon needs coaching 101. When it’s tight she never calls a time out and runs a set play. Never. Stop letting Allen off the hook with her horrid passing. She gives teams 2 to 4 points a game.

Is a shot clock violation better or worse than missed free throws to lose a game because you can’t pin it on one person? Cardoso’s double-double was nice, 10 points (again) not that impressive but she had 6 assists to go with it which for a center is impressive. Too bad Reese didn’t get those records the tv people talked about but when/if she does, I hope she gets a couple more or so past the record because the league may upon further review, and to be fair to other players past, present, and future, invalidate a couple of the double-doubles and apologize for some over-zealousness at the scorer’s table.
Shame on the Sky. When they started getting attendance and clicks when Reese had her streak, the Sky said to heck with winning, to heck with Cardoso. Let’s sit Cardoso, give her less shots, sabotage her career, all so Reese can get stats. No wonder Mabrey demanded to be traded. The clout-chasing Sky are an embarrassment to the game. Hope it was worth it.
The sky are terrible defenders 7:14 everyone is ball perusal then the guard proceeds to let her man run from the 3 to the paint deshields leaves who she’s currently guarding to box out a player that came from the 3pt line defended by an entirely different player to give up and offensive rebound then at 7:26 again everyone ball perusal no help defense and angel reese isn’t sprinting back she’s lolly gagging gets to the 3 and starts walking only to watch the game when she coulda got a board…. A lot of the things I am seeing specifically from fandom is the reason I know the WNBA is making the same mistakes as in the past and should stick to growing the league gradually, focusing on the great players of the league, Wilson, Stuart, Bronner, etc. and quit leaning into toxic and casual fans. A little struggle from the Sky and people are already over it, in Reese first professional season, really People saying they done and unsubscribing, come on man. These last few games for the Sky have been some they can definitely build off of going forward, they rookies look good, a few other things they need to figure out and they can improve. The hate, NOT CRITICISM, but hate for Angel Reese is hands down toxic fandom, it is what it is. but they need to quit gaslighting fans, she not ROTY and she got a lot of work to do. Its the same reason I know that the minute Caitlain Clark take a step back or fall off a bit all of this fake toxic fandom will go away and what will the league do then. They rookies they all got work to do, stop perusal these new youtube websites and podcast popping up every minute to try and capitalize off your anger. Chicago Sky got something to work with for the future, they said as much by trading off Mabry, they building and can be a force in the near future.
Angel just needs to keep working. She need that mid range jumper and she needs to move without the ball. It was a lot of steals because she’s not moving or pushing ppl off to get the ball. She’s been keeping the ball elevated while she posting which look good. Once she works on the little things Chicago will be a problem
We do not watch WNBA games. Even the highlights are a drag. The WNBA solely has people’s attention because of the drama and controversy within the league. Plus it’s being forced down us sports fan’s throats through the YouTube algorithm. Even normal non sports fans at this point. So most of us are tapped in by default. The pander is real. And we are shamed because we don’t watch the sport? We don’t care how mainstream media tries to make this seem like a great sport that we’ve been neglecting since its founding. It’s always been very cringe and awkward perusal it. It’s entertainment… Not the appreciation of competitive sport, but the drama that makes people laugh and debate opinions. Kinda feels like we are perusal a sports version of bad girls club. 80% scripted and 20% real, and the only thing these women aren’t faking is their athletic ability and pettiness. A minority of the world population truly enjoy perusal WNBA basketball. Let alone Americas population. This is a fact. I mean a MAJORITY of fans who go to these games just go because it’s a cheap activity to entertain the kids for a little bit until they cry to go home. Someone who got free tickets from work or school so they say “F it I’ll go”. Some old men 50 and up who used to coach a girls high school basketball team and has a thing for lady hoopers. Or those who want to watch Caitlin Clark. And those of you saying you sit and watch a full WNBA game that are in these comments… You Are probably lying.
