Harry Potter author JK Rowling has defended her fictional school of witchcraft and wizardry, revealing that it does not reflect a diversity of belief systems. She used ancient texts to create the mysterious ingredients of potions and spells taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft. Rowling also revealed the existence of an American school of witchcraft and wizardry in the world of Harry Potter, which is just the tip of the iceberg.
A new exhibition at the British Library in London reveals how author J.K. Rowling relied on the real history of magic and alchemy to create her wizarding world. Rowling has often prompted comparisons between her fiction and real history, exploring the Salem Witch Trials and the symbol for the Deathly Hallows.
JK. Rowling has spoken out about suggestions that Hogwarts doesn’t reflect a diversity of belief systems and claims that the only religion not represented at the fictional school is Wicca. Many of her former fans have decided that she’s a witch, but she’s been more faithful to them than they know.
Patti Wigington, a pagan author, educator, and licensed clergy, has written books by J.K. Rowling that teach witchcraft. She believes that Wiccans “cannot co-exist” with witches and wizards at Hogwarts and that Wicca is the only belief system or religion. Rowling is a practicing witch who has studied deeply into the blackest of witchcraft training manuals and is pouring it all into her seven books.

Why does Harry never use magic?
Harry Potter, a young wizard, was unfamiliar with the world of magic before receiving his Hogwarts letter at age 11. His first exposure to magic was when Voldemort used the killing curse on him at age 1. Characters like Ron and Draco, who grew up in magical families, quickly practiced spells and successfully cast them in their first year at Hogwarts. Hermione, who had muggle parents, had been studying magic and working on spells before the train ride to Hogwarts, which Harry didn’t have the chance or support to do. Harry’s introduction to magic in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone introduced him to the importance of magic in the community’s lore.
In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry successfully cast the first spell, “Rictusempra”, which he uses when facing Draco Malfoy in Gilderoy Lockhart’s Duelling Club. The Tickling Charm, which was meant to weaken Draco with laughter, sends Draco flying back across the room. However, Harry’s charm only works to blast Draco further back in the movie, possibly due to his inexperience with hexes.
Why does J.K. Rowling not use her real name?
In an interview, J. K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, explained her rationale for not including her real name, Joanne, on the cover of the first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, published in 1997. She cited concerns about the book’s appeal to young boys as the primary reason for this decision. Additionally, Rowling’s concerns about the potential impact of her first marriage on her career influenced her decision to change her name.
Did J.K. Rowling use actual spells?
Harry Potter spells are derived from Latin, but they are not proper words. Author J. K. Rowling created words that resemble other words with real meanings. Some spells, like Alohomora, which opens doors and is “friendly to thieves”, and Aparecium, which makes invisible ink appear, are derived from the Latin appareo, meaning “to become visible or to appear”. These spells are not proper words but rather resemble words with real meanings.
Do people in Harry Potter believe in Jesus?
J. K. Rowling has admitted to incorporating Christian ideals into the Harry Potter series, potentially aiming to have some characters be Christians. Christianity is a major monotheistic religion, with followers worshipping God and believing in Jesus of Nazareth as the messiah. In the wizarding world, Christianity is celebrated through major Christian festivals like Easter, Christmas, Hallowe’en, and Valentine’s Day. These events are detailed in the Bible and are outlined in the holy book.
What does the J mean in J.K. Rowling?
Joanne Kathleen J. K. Rowling (née Rowling), adopted the name J. K. Rowling to avoid being perceived as less popular with boys. In order to ensure that her work was recognizable and memorable, Rowling used her grandmother’s name as her middle name.
Is Harry Potter ok for Christians?
Dr. Frank Turek’s book, Hollywood Heroes, offers a Christian worldview to popular films like Batman, Iron Man, Wonder Woman, Star Wars, and Harry Potter. Turek explains that like Jesus, Harry Potter was chosen to destroy Voldemort and save humanity. The series upholds values such as love, friendship, loyalty, courage, and overcoming the temptation of unlimited power. Author J. K. Rowling intentionally added Christian themes to the book, such as “love holding power over death”. Despite Rowling’s support for unbiblical ideologies, it’s remarkable that a secular author can incorporate Christian values into a children’s book.
In 2007, Rowling revealed that Dumbledore was gay and in an intense romantic relationship with a character from the Harry Potter series. The books never hint at Dumbledore’s sexuality, so there’s no need for parents to worry. Parents can choose not to allow their children to watch the prequels.
When reading Harry Potter, it’s important to consider the biblical worldview and how certain themes tie in with the gospel, the book’s message about evil, and God’s role in the story.
Is Harry Potter based on real magic?
J. K. Rowling, the creator of Harry Potter, based her fictional universe on real-world mythology and folklore, describing it as a way of adding texture to the world. The magic of Harry Potter was the subject of a 2017 British Library exhibition and documentary, Harry Potter: A History of Magic. Wizards must learn to control their magic, as it can occur spontaneously during strong emotions. In the novels, almost all intentional magic is performed with a wand.
Spells are the every-purpose tools of a wizard, typically short bursts used to accomplish specialized tasks. Casting a spell usually requires the movement of a wand and the uttering of an incantation, with the language of the incantations described as modified Latin. Rowling has used the Wizarding World website to describe certain wizarding cultures that practice magic without a wand. Some spells require the caster to use their voice, such as Albus Dumbledore’s impressive feats without speaking. In the Order of the Phoenix, Harry performs lumos to light his wand when he is not holding it.
Did J.K. Rowling go to Witches School?
J. K. Rowling is not a member of the Wizarding World, despite popular speculation to the contrary. Some have even postulated that she is Rita Skeeter, banished to the Muggle world for her actions.
How old was JK when she wrote Harry Potter?
J. K. Rowling, born in 1965, commenced writing the Harry Potter series at the age of 25, releasing the first novel, Philosopher’s Stone, in 1997 and concluding the series in 2007 at the age of 42.
Is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry real?
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a fictional boarding school for young wizards, the primary setting for the first six novels in J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. The school is a coeducational secondary boarding school that enrolls children aged eleven to eighteen, and is open to any child in Britain with magical ability. Hogwarts was founded in the Highlands of Scotland between the 9th and 10th century by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin.
Rowling envisioned Hogwarts as a place of security for the orphaned Harry Potter and made it a boarding school due to many important plot events occurring at night. The name “Hogwarts” may have been derived from Geoffrey Willans’ 1954 book How to Be Topp, which describes a fictional play titled “The Hogwarts” and a fictional school headmaster named “Hoggwart”. However, Rowling has unknowingly derived the name from the name of the hogwort plant.
Did Harry Potter use forbidden spells?
Harry Potter used the Cruciatus Curse and Imperius Curse against various individuals during the Gringotts heist, leading to the deaths of Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Amycus Carrow was also subjected to an Imperius Curse by Minerva McGonagall. The curses were cast during a time when the ban on their use had been lifted, so there is no indication of punishment for their use.
The incantation of Avada Kedavra causes a blinding green bolt of light to shoot from the caster’s wand, resulting in instant death without any secondary effects. The Ministry of Magic recognizes the signs of the curse. The Killing Curse has no counter-curse or blocking spell, but the green bolt can be dodged or blocked with solid objects. If the curse misses the victim and strikes an inanimate object, a small explosion at the point of impact may start a fire of green flame.

I absolutely adore this woman. Since standing up for women and against the tyranny of the extreme left she has proven herself every bit as principled as I expected the writer of Harry Potter to be. Anyone who actually understands the underlying themes of those books should be in no way surprised she has taken the stance she has. I’m so proud of her, the work she has done and the influence she has had on the world. She is muh Queen 👑 💜🙌
J.K. Rowling’s “offensive” Tweets: “Dress however you please. Call yourself whatever you like. Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you. Live your best life in peace and security. But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real?” J.K. Rowling “If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth.” J.K. Rowling “The idea that women like me, who’ve been empathetic to trans people for decades, feeling kinship because they’re vulnerable in the same way as women – ie, to male violence – ‘hate’ trans people because they think sex is real and has lived consequences – is a nonsense.” J.K. Rowling “I respect every trans person’s right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them. I’d march with you if you were discriminated against on the basis of being trans. At the same time, my life has been shaped by being female. I do not believe it’s hateful to say so.” J.K. Rowling “Trans people need and deserve protection. Like women, they’re most likely to be killed by sexual partners. Trans women who work in the sex industry, particularly trans women of colour, are at particular risk. Like every other domestic abuse and sexual assault survivor I know, I feel nothing but empathy and solidarity with trans women who’ve been abused by men.” J.
She was protecting the very organizations & facilities that protect women from abusive men and creeps who pretend to be x y z by putting on a dress to often do more than gawk at women and lil girls. Both the facilities she’s built and taking part in other organizations to help them out. She said what she said thinking she was saying something tame when she actually WAS. Original feminist. Thousands of women have success because of her aid to them. Even actresses. Now weird corporations are trying to steal her brand and use captured actors to push their money grubbing sleezebag agendas. Rowling is a unique and wondrous soul. Leave her alone she even raised a beautiful powerful daughter ON HER OWN. And her books have saved many lives in many ways.
It was ironically all the hate and death threats against Ms. Rowling that led me to finally take a long overdue deep dive into the gender-ideology madness. A big thank you to Ms. Rowling for her courage. And of course a tip of the hat to all those – “brave,” “inclusive,” “stunning” -uber-misogynistic trans-activists – whose vile barking-mad rape threats and death threats toward Ms. Rowling brought this issue to my attention.
I’ve never known a professional woman who has been so lambasted for relying on the Truth. Gather together the names of the people who are responsible for attempting to damage her reputation,,,,it’s important for future generations to know who the unhinged people were,,,, and how they were the driver of the bus that took them over the cliff.
‘Marginalised’? – I am heartily sick and tired of hearing from these people and their band; they have rights already, but science is science and truth is truth and any amount of this nonsense will not change that. By trying to force people to accept the impossible they do great disservice to their ’cause’ and generate hostility where none was before.
All the names they call Rowling just makes me think they are the sort of people you wouldn’t want to keep in your friend circle, bring to weddings, hang outs. I bet they evolve into bridezillas, karens and so forth. Keep a close watch on them folks. Especially if you find that they are connected to any individual or organization that’s pushing children to transition, often without parental consent etc.
I support JK Rowling 100%. Biology is a scientific fact not open to debate. Inventing new words like cis or new “phobias” doesn’t change reality. I just cant even believe there is a movement of people that don’t know the difference between a male and a female and if you call them out you are canceled. They are as loony as flat earthers and deserve the same ridicule.
There are far more people that agree with JK’s moderate views, which are that trans people are deserving of dignity and respect but they do not take precedence over women’s rights, gay rights and protection of children. She’s trolling the trans activists a bit more lately, but they literally call for death threats against her! You can only take so much pushing until you push back!
I thank Ms. Rowling for the incredible experience of HP in my childhood and I thank her once again for standing for my rights and fighting against my erasure as a woman in my adulthood. She did not disappoint. She is a brave woman to stand her ground. I’m proud to live at the same time as her. If I can call someone a role model,. it’s her.
I don’t like Rowling’s Transphobia allegations anymore than anyone else; but that does not mean it gives anyone the right or excuse to divebomb her with nasty pranks and death threats, seriously this should draw the line between hate and respect, and the way these activists is going about it is all wrong. For a “Supposed Witch-Who-Refuses-To-Burn”, she allowed herself to burn over the matter of a playscript sequel to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
So it’s transphobic to protect women’s rights? She said nothing hateful in the slightest. But the hateful things slung at her are supported?!!!! What a clown world. I went into JBHiFi about a year ago asking about the new Hogwarts game that was coming out as I wanted to gift it to my son. I don’t follow the news or social media so knew nothing of what’s going on. The sales person gave me a date it would be in store, THEN went on to warn me about purchasing it as it would be wrong to support JK Rowling I said how ridiculous I found the comment and pre-ordered the game. Since then I have learnt what the uproar was about and stand my ground on how ridiculous it all is. My son loved the game by the way.
It’s crazy how incomplete this story is, making it seem like she said nothing wrong. This kind of journalism should be a crime. If you see a bunch of people who are responding to something, but this lady on screen tells you it’s nothing, you just blindly believe her? I task you all to look up what she actually said and then stand with her 🥴
Yes. I never had much of an opinion one way or the other on trans issues. But when people started being persecuted for saying that biological sex is more real than trans self identification I thought, “No”! I’m old enough to have applauded the abolition of the death penalty, then end of the strap/cane in schools, the race relations acts, the legalisation of homosexuality, gay marriage and equal trights for women – but that wasn’t automatic, I thought about each one. I’ve now thought about the trans issue and agree with JKR.
Hopefully I’m the only one who initially misinterpreted the statement at around 50 seconds re “views that are held by the vast majority of the population” – I wrongly thought for a moment that Lauren was saying she was going against the views of the vast majority and my chin hit the floor, wondering if it was sarcasm – I listened on and realised my mistake – If I’d thought to read the description I would have cottoned on earlier.
It speaks volumes when you look at what JK has said about trans women, then look at what people have said about her, her speech isn’t hate speech, where as the speech of others most definitely is hate speech calling her every name under the sun. They don’t even know what transphobic means, they seen to think it means if you disagree with me, then you’re a bigot, absolutely maddening. I’m sure there are SOME trans people out there who do use their heads. It would just be nice if some of those people spoke out about this situation.
I agree with her point of view but I will not stand with her because she is a feminist which is a bias against men at the very least. I would stand against men being in women’s sports and women only spaces but several decades ago women sued for access to most of men’s sports and won. They sued for access to men only spaces and won, in my country at least. Now there are none. So I believe there is already settled law on those subjects. Be sure and thank your nearest feminist. Good luck
JK Rowling made a Billion Dollars from the Harry Potter franchise. She had nothing to gain from speaking up and everything to loose….but speak she did….and with an unshakable eloquence and grace that continues to stand in stark contrast to the incoherent shrieking of her foaming at the mouth, blue-haired detractors. She is a classic liberal woman whose advocacy for womens rights harkens back to an era when feminism still had substance and integrity. Witty. Mature. Classy. Articulate. Successful. She’s everything the radical Left hates.
God, seeing this in my suggested tab was such a slap to the face. I keep forgetting that there’s a whole community of people who hate me, that I’m usually shielded from by the algorithm. At least my irl community is super progressive, since you guys haven’t been able to spread your ideas in Canada so much.
I stand with Rowling, I stand with anyone who stands against abuse, force and human rights violations. What is happening is wrong, cotton ceiling, women’s sports, indoctrination of children, toilets, medical, language when is it going to stop. She has used her platform to speak out and try to protect those without a voice . I thank her and so do many who are homosexual and also trans gender people. The lgbtq+ community may hate anyone who speaks out but not all homosexual or transgender people are part of that community or support it, I speak for myself when I say I stand with jk and I wish her the best
I love JK Rowling. She is consistent in her ideology. I am also a feminist and will always stand up for women’s rights. I think the younger women who have never had to struggle for women’s rights are the ones who are the trans activists who demonise her. They will live to regret it when the rights that women have fought so hard for are dissipated and then they will have to start all over again! They need to read more and listen to the women who experienced the history of the struggle that women went through to gain equality in society.
My daughter loved her books. We loved perusal the movies. My pastor would say that we shouldn’t read her books. I disagreed with evangelical’s puritanical attitudes back then. Now, the puritans are the left. Our side has the cool kids having fun and listening to humor again. Shame on the Potter actors. Ingrates.
The lack of a sensible democratic discussion about this important topic will end up hurting the people who need sympathy the most. There will be push backs and they will end up hurting many people. Where is all this hate coming from? I also read maybe most of Rowlings post and I do not understand why this cannot be debated in a civilized manner.
Today one female keyboard warrior told me I was transposing because I signalled support for JKR. When I asked three times for her to show me what I said that was transphobic, she dodged the issue but doubled down on her accusations. Her last post was crowing about the fact she had “won” the argument, due to my “inferior” argument s.
Now JK Rowling is a hero among most people with common sense. It is funny because now she just trolls the trans community and its hilarious. She is just a lot smarter than most people. I have always been 100% behind her. I remember I saw a trans ‘woman’ say JK Rowling should be r****. Well that’s not very ladylike. No real woman would wish that on any other woman.
The only people that straddle the line on biological sex are intersex people like myself with various disorders mine being androgen insensitivity syndrome With that being said there are only two genders and then the anomalies like myself that are a slight mixture And with that being said ive had naturally occuring estrogen flowing through me for 33 years now and i don’t say im trans im not shaving my face in a womans locker room and im sure as hell not trying to play sports Why you ask Because i was raised by almost nothing but women who had taught me to be compassionate empathetic and value integrity something these new misinformed posers dont get that knew i was different i was butchered as a child and anyone making light of these medical atrocities thinking we should be targeting children youve lost the plot and need professional help And dont come for me because i fear no man woman nor multicolor haired mob
JK Rowling is not actually against people transitioning She believes that trans women are trans women and trans men are trans men, and in spaces where sex and personal history matter she’s right. As a trans man I fully understand what it’s like to be trying to get care and having everything labeled as female/for women. It’s awkward and triggers a lot of dysphoria, but changing entire societal structures is not going to work no matter how much we want it to. That’s why our elders were fighting for services specifically for us, including dating services, medical care, mental health, shelters, etc that are struggling due to our own obsession about being something that we will never be.
I stand with JK Rowling. Biological sex is an empirical reality, and gender identity is largely a social construction. This is not “TERF” ideology, this is an orthodox feminist position and to a great extent it created a space for the liberation of sexual and gender minorities (LGBT+). The extent of the hate campaign against Rowling and other women who take an orthodox feminist stance — with its viciousness, misogyny and erasure — frankly validates all of their concerns.
JK Rowling is a REAL woman. Strong, talented, beautiful and unlike many, she sticks to her guns and tells it like it is. Not that I have always agreed with all she says or stands for, but on the topic of “wokeness” and “gender” I agree 100% I’ve watched in horror and disgust seeing one after another celebrity and film star falling over themselves to virtue signal about this and that “trans” issue. Even the young nobody’s who shot to fame with the Harry Potter movies, wow, they threw JK under the bus like she was nothing to them. Ingrates.
I identify as transphobic. If that makes you sad. Don’t care. I promise you if you say you’re trans. I wont care at all. You do you. Just don’t get all upended and attack me because I don’t share your views. If you attack some one in any way. They tend to fight back. So just be yourself and get along with others.
Another thing that is really important to remember about JK Rowling “liking” a tweet: there was a time when Twitter didn’t have a “like” button but instead had a “bookmark” button. It was very helpful because it meant that you could bookmark something if you wanted to come back to it etc. Booking marking something is not the same thing as liking it. But then they removed the “bookmark” button and replaced it with “like”. For people who used to use “bookmark”, this was very annoying. Many of us (I used to have to do this myself) had to use “like” when we didn’t agree with the tweet at all but we wanted to have a record of it.
My wife and I read chapters of Harry Potter to our daughter at bedtime. This was a large factor in motivating her learning to read at an early age, engendering a love of reading that has lasted. Joanne, if you ever read this, you have my sincere undying gratitude. To make my position crystal clear, a bloke in a dress is a bloke in a dress is a bloke in a dress despite whatever label he tries applying to himself. I stand with J.K. Rowling.
The thing that everyone is misunderstanding is JK rowling doesn’t hate trans people she hates the idea that trans women are women and trans men are men. She isn’t denying transgender people of their experiences in a matter of fact she is doing the opposite! She believes trans women are trans women and are not the same as biological women. She believes saying that trans women are women is actually erasing the gender dysphoria experience and easering the experience of being a biological women. She belives that trans women and women are different and that’s okay! We all have different experiences!
Not got a ton of sympathy for Rowling as I’m generally of the belief that the modern feminism she stood for is almost entirely to blame for the same people who now want her dead but nothing disgusts me more than the hijacking of her own creative work and the attempt to erase her name from it. I don’t care how much I dislike a person, if they create their own Lord of the Rings and it in turn it makes the careers and lives of hundreds of others through its success and then those same people think they have the right to rip it away from that person, those people are always much worse in my eyes.
HP’s interaction with Christians is nuanced to say the least. The first U.S. fan podcast was hosted by two Catholic priests (who really dug the Latinesque spell casting, BTW.) And, there’s plenty of Christianity hidden in the novels. For instance, it’s no accident that the climactic scene (books & movies) takes place in King’s Cross Station.
JK Rowlings has the right to her opinion and it is deplorable to attack her because she is expressing views shared by many people. In a civilised world there has to be a space for diversity of opinions, views and stands; and not just of gender or race. To oppose this shows queer-centrism, and that reflects lack of education. Sad!
I also stand with JK Rowling. It’s ironic when we’re not allowed to call a man in a frock who’s got plastic tits a man. *EDIT After fully perusal this article I removed the section of my comment showing my distaste for the ‘which that refuses to burn’ remark as the context is 100% clear. No one should have to bow down to this nonsense.
The females in my family are truly a blessing in my life. They stand with JK Rowling, and I would give my life to protect them. Modern feminism has, ironically, become a cancer to women’s rights, their identity, and their well-being. Nowadays, JK Rowling is sadly in their cross-hairs because she defiantly stands by her convictions regarding actual women. She sees the societal norms that form the foundations of civilized existence being perpetually eroded. And she has first hand experience regarding domestic violence. And the amount of death threats she receives weekly from a disturbingly large amount of liberal females is what is especially disappointing. But I have faith that more and more of them are coming to their senses.
J.K. Rowling is still a beloved children’s author. I read Harry Potter regularly to my kids. And I give her as an example to them about how to not betray your own core values no matter what propagandists say. She is still only hated by religious extremists. Normal people couldn’t care less about those trans extremists, no matter how hard they scream. The fact that some of those extremists and radicals (gender/trans loonies) have had a little bit of power and squandered it by trying to dictate people’s lives doesn’t change anything about that.
I’ve always found it rather amusing and ironic that the roles of hero and villain are reversed when you compare the movies to real life. Radcliffe, Watson and Grint who played the trio of heroes from the films, have behaved badly, with Radcliffe’s and Watson in particular behaving like ungrateful brats. Meanwhile, Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Jason Isaacs, and Tom Felton — actors who played thoroughly evil villains — have been gracious and supportive. There are a few honorable exceptions among the “good guy” character actors, such as Evanna Lynch, Robbie Coltrane, but by and large, the people who have turned out to be the actual good guys in real life have been the ones who played the hateful characters on screen, and the characters we rooted for in the films were played by actors who have revealed themselves to be a bunch of spoiled, intolerant, illiberal ingrates, spitting on the very person who made them wealthy.
As I see it, JKR has brought nothing but joy to millions, encouraged children to read and develop their minds; just what has the “Trans” community brought- nothing but disruptive, abusive, misogynistic behaviour, using gang group methods to scare and intimidate all who believe what cannot be disbelieved- their are two sexes, after than their are numerous preferences that both male and females can indulge in- that is their choice but the base fact cannot be denied, two sexes- male and female.
Yup. Humour is one thing, but to seriously want people to knowingly treat you as if you’re a man, when you’re really a woman, or vice versa, and to loose your mind in rage and sadnesss…it’s pathetic. Trans people say they want “love and acceptance”, but they can’t even accept themselves and flattery is not love.
The vast majority of the population agrees with JK Rowling. Because she isn’t saying anything hateful but just truthful. We need compassion for all, but that includes biological women as well, and it’s important we retain the ability to speak truth, even if it makes others uncomfortable. Even if we think any speech is bad, the way we stop any bad speech is to have more of it, show it the light of day, and allow society to examine it and break it down if it doesn’t stand up. If it does stand up. Then, it was right to be said.
Her initial stance is reasonable. You could disagree with it, but you had to accept it as valid. I’m not familiar with everything she said on the subject and after being attacked repeatedly she may have even said something that was so-called mean-spirited. Completely understandable. Initially. All the Harry Potter cast members that attacked her, could have remained neutral. As her stance is more and more acknowledged is being correct. I hope that those actors pay a price. They attack the person most responsible for their success. They attacked her because they disagreed with her. They saw how she was being attacked and treated and they chose to join in. Fortunately, none of them are what I’d call my favorite actors. So I happily join in boycotting them.
Prior to all the controversy, I had always wished for JK Rowling to just lay off the Twitter lark. She had an opinion on everything, and, if I’m honest, I think if she had spent less time on Twitter and more time at her writing desk, she would have made a better story for Fantastic Beasts. That said, the controversy caused by her 2020 tweets really shone a light on the deranged and utterly ruthless nature of the current radical left, and I think that it has helped to quietly sway people away from the cult of wokeness.
JK Rowling isn’t necessarily transphobic or an ally (to the internet culture’s standards). There’s a tendency on the internet where opposing communities talk across each other, and coherent points from the side you don’t agree with are never heard properly. Gender dysphoria is real and should be taken seriously, but so is misogyny on natal women and that should be taken seriously too.
Rowling isn’t criticized for saying sex is real. Nobody in their right mind would deny that. Rowling is identifying transwomen with predators, arguing they need to be kept out of women’s safe spaces. Given that transwomen are more likely to be victims of sexually motivated crimes than ciswomen, and not more likely to be perpetrators, this is a rather dick move, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. When confronted with the errors in her arguments though, she resorts to attacks and slurs. She even sides with right wing antifeminists only to demonize trans people. She’s so caught up in her delusional quest that even some ultra conservative like Elon Musk told her to maybe consider that there are other things to worry about.
Allowing same-sex marriage opened the door to such nonsense – But if the activist has “no sex” at all, is this still an adult who is mature enough to marry? The idea of marriage was to found a family, get your own children and raise them to be responsible adults: threats of violence or worse against someone who stands to her belief is disgusting. And calling that person a “hater” instead of acknowleging the heaps of hate spewed onto her by others, is absolutely disgusting. The loudest people make themselves targets for the next wave of activists. If all the “hate, hate, hate” scants come from the trans-activists side, they do their own agada a lot of damage. Who wants to talk to them, talk about them, or even dare to be with them in the same room, if they tell the world your are the awful person who did something mean to them: I was not there, I don’t know, what you are talking about (I don’t care anymore, how you feel, because I don’t want to know you) – trying to be nice most often ends in tears, because you never can be nice eneough or accomodating enough -> the Frog Prince needed a close encounter with a wall, to be freed of his curse!
It’s amazing that there are so many very “male” type of insults from so-called trans-women. That’s because it is some men who are trying to muscle in on women, somehow it doesn’t seem to apply the other way round. Perhaps it’s because women becoming trans men don’t encroch on men’s spaces or men’s sports. And they don’t behave in such a very aggressive way.
JK Rowlings name is not mud. All the normal people, ie, the vast majority of people see her as a very talented decent woman. Since when did the screechy lunatic rent a crowd minority get the right to decide for everyone the way she must be portrayed. I’m sure I don’t agree with every facet of her philosophy on life but hey, that’s being an individual.
There are only two sexes. Anyone who says different is deluded or a liar. There are both male and female individuals who seek to be the other. Obviously drugs or surgery only goes so far.
