Was Kobe Ever A Magician?

The Great Western Forum could have witnessed Magic, Shaq, and Kobe play together for one or two seasons. Kobe learned important lessons from Magic Johnson in their first meeting before starting his NBA career. Magic was the master of making passes that looked impossible at first and his playing style was an absolute thrill to watch, which inspired him. There is no record of whether future NBA legend Kobe Bryant was at Magic Johnson’s first game, but he was a year old when he retired at the end of the 1995-96 season. In hindsight, fans wish that he could have played one more season with the Lakers, because that would have seen Magic play.

Lakers star-turned-entrepreneur Magic Johnson often is asked about Kobe Bryant, taking time to preserve his memory and celebrate a life that was cut short. The Shaq-Kobe feud was the conflict between National Basketball Association (NBA) players Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant, who played together for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1996–2004. Kobe Bryant came to the NBA in 1996 but never got the opportunity to share the NBA court with Magic Johnson, who retired a few months prior. As a rookie, Magic needed to gain more knowledge of him, and Kobe himself had questions regarding his own skills.

In conclusion, the Kobe era has not been seen in Lakerland for nearly 40 years, and Kobe Bryant learned an essential lesson from Magic Johnson in their first meeting before starting his NBA career.

  • You go out for a dinner with your wife, next thing you hear is 2 dudes arguing. You go closer and hear: “No chance, because in 1993 … Also you know I was better in 1998.” “Mike, I would win, you know that, because in 2008 … And you were never better than me …” You look over and see MJ and Kobe arguing over some pointless stuff 😂😂

  • Celebrities die every year and I never feel anything but Kobe, Kobe feels different it’s been months and I’m still not over it just doesn’t seem real, it’s hard to believe never was a basketball fan but it’s the mindset I respected but still not over this one and I don’t think I will be anytime soon.

  • Crazy he said this 4 years ago that you don’t want to break up the team and look down the line 4 to 5 years from now and pretty much regret letting those players be great on other teams. He was talking about Ingram (franchise player), Randle (franchise player), Ball (core player), Caruso (core player), and Kuzma (emerging star). Now the Lakers have a bunch of old no bodies and can’t even make the playoffs and most of these players now are on playoff teams and some even contenders. This is why Kobe is better than LeBron he had patience to win and knew what it really takes to win and that’s a team.

  • If they had sticked with Lonzo, Ingram and probably had a chance with Zion Williamson. Then the Lakers would have been completing for several years. However Magic and LeBron opted for a one time opportunity this year. Once LeBron game went downhill the Lakers would look like Anthony Davis with the Pelicans 9th to 10th seed.

  • So here we see Kobe saying just go through the process and develop these youngins and it’ll be a great team and to not break it up. But soon we will see Magic dumping players with bright futures to dump salaries to get Kawhi or LeBron or PG. Like D’Angelo Russell looked like he’s about to have a bright future and magic traded him to dump mozgovs salary

  • Jimmy says no team has ever retired two numbers before, and I believe he is wrong, and am also suprised that Kobe didn’t correct him. Over a a dozen NBA teams have retired over 5 of their numbers over the years. If we are talking about one single team in a particular era, Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippin both have their jersey’s retired, and they played on the Bulls together at the same time.
